Rossi's is right in the heart of the Castro across the street from the Castro theater. This is a great spot to grab snacks, sandwiches, drinks for a nice park day, also with very reasonable prices. I was craving a sando after the gym, it was a nice day so I wanted to sit at Dolores park to eat. I got a tuna salad sandwich with all the fixings on Dutch crunch. The guys working there were all really nice, helped me right away. The space is small, packed with every snack-drink-deli option possible!! The sandwich was so big, all the fixings were fresh, it was so satisfying! I loved it. The price was also good. If you're looking for a quick lunch, snack, you should stop by! I will be back when I need a sandwich and snack for sure.

Deviled eggs? Man, I didn't know they make and sell deviled eggs until I read about it in an Eater article. Next time. Meantime I come here when I have a hankering for a dependably girthy sandwich that will completely sate me. A really great one is Sam's Special, slices of ham, turkey, salami and provolone on Dutch crunch (photo: https://yelp.to/BrPjSxMZ2-). Straightforward and satisfying, it's comparable to any of the cold sandwiches I get at Molinari or Yellow Submarine. They're also really efficient, so what's not to like about the operation here? FOOD - 5 stars...an excellent sandwich AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...small shop conveniently located on Castro right outside the MUNI station SERVICE - 4.5 stars...pretty fast compared to other delis TOTAL - 5 stars...deviled eggs make this place even more perfect RELATED - Exploring the Castro? Avogobble Sandwich on Dutch Crunch

More like a solid 3.5. Came to Rossi's for a quick to go lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. I heard a lot about the Avogobble sandwich and ordered that on Dutch Crunch. Everyone working there was super friendly and nice and I liked that I could customize the sandwich pretty much as much as I wanted. The bread was nicely toasted and there is a generous filling of Turkey (maybe a bit too much Turkey for me). The flavor was good but I wish it had a little more spice and mustard and maybe more avocado. It is a huge sandwich for $10.75 so I definitely think its worth it. Would come back here again.

Date: Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 What: late lunch delivery Time Ordered: around 2:15pm Time Received: around 2:45pm How: DoorDash Delivered to: Outer Richmond *Reuben Sandwich: Corned beef, swiss, and sauerkraut. Includes mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, peperoncino, jalapeno, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Light Rye ($12.50) *Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Bagel: Everything Bagel ($7.95) *Lox, Bagel, and Cream Cheese: Nova Lox, Cream Cheese, Capers, Onions, Tomatoes, Everything Bagel ($10.95) I was craving both a Reuben and a Bagel with lox. After looking around on DoorDash and Yelp for a bit, I found Rossi's Delicatessen. I was only going to order one of the above, but the hubby suggested splitting the reuben and we could each get a bagel sandwich. Sounded like a perfect solution to me! The reuben was warm, melty, and tasty. I did wish there was more mustard tho. Luckily we had some at home, so problem solved! The Bagel and Lox hit the spot, tho I like hella cream cheese on my bagels. I found myself wishing there was an option to add extra cream cheese. Good thing my trusty fridge came to the rescue again as I had some on hand. I didn't try the hubby's bagel sando, but it looked standard and he seemed to enjoy it. I was originally going to order from another more well known Jewish Delicatessen, but I didn't want to spend around $20 each for a sandwich. Glad I found Rossi's.

    Smoked Turkey Sandwich

Cute deli and stopped in for a sandwich while on my way home. Everyone was really friendly and sandwich was made quickly. I got the smoked turkey sandwich on a wheat roll and nearly everything on it. Bread was good texture, fresh, and soft inside. Plenty of filling inside and all stayed put and was not falling out which made it easy to eat. Prices were good and especially for the size of the sandwich. Plenty of other items to order and buy besides a sandwich but definitely recommend.

Prosciutto Sandwich - 4 stars. Soft fresh meat, and lots of it. Sat takeout 2022-09-03

The guy at the counter is super nice! Very cheerful, offers suggestions, when I couldn't decide between light or dark rye bread, he said he could do one slice of each on the Reuben! I appreciate that they offer bagel sandwiches, like a PB&J, which I got for my kids. * Prosciutto Sandwich - 4 stars. Soft fresh meat, and lots of it. * Reuben - 4 stars. Tasty! My husband's go-to sandwich and he liked this.

They are a great retailer, very knowledgeable of wines old world and new. They have a fantastic selection. My issue is with their auction business, which I think they have very little they can do about it as they are taking the word of the sellers that the bottles have been properly cellared. Multiple Aubert Chardonnays (2014-2017) bottlings, top end, have been clearly past their prime despite being in the start of the prime drinking window, and one bottle that was very tired. So it seems to be less of the "rare bad bottle" problem and more of a systemic issue with some of their sellers. I'll change this review if other such start-of-the-prime-drinking-window bottles through K&L prove to show they are drinking well and increase the ratio of good to bad items. I have a lot more of these bottles to test. Edit: may 2026 - a few more Aubert Chardonnay's going back to a 2018 Eastside were opened and we're all spectacular, crisp and peaked. Our stats are much better now on the aging of chards through the auction. Changing to 5 stars.

I've been here a few times and each visit spot new bottles, drinks that I want to try. I'm a beer drinker by default and HS's cooler on the left does not disappoint! But they've also got floor to ceiling selections of spirits wrapping the rest of the store, with dozens (if not more) varieties of each type. All in all, a great purveyor and appreciated assortment of libations. Cheers!

We've been to Ingredients a couple of times now, and after tonight I really felt like I needed to write a review. I've lived in San Francisco for more than 30 years and have eaten all over the city. Ingredients is genuinely one of the best dining experiences I've had in years. The food is phenomenal, but a huge part of what makes this place so special is Jackie and the level of hospitality he brings to the experience. Tonight we basically told him what we were in the mood for and let him guide us. He recommended an incredible off-menu wine and helped us put together exactly the meal we wanted. We wanted something fresh and green to start, but none of the salads on the menu were quite what we had in mind. Rather than just asking us to choose something else, they offered to create something for us. What came out was an incredibly bright, fresh salad with pomegranate, figs and assorted greens. It was fantastic. Then came the momos, which were incredible, followed by the steak special with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was beautifully prepared and genuinely delicious. What really sets Ingredients apart, though, is the hospitality. Jackie didn't just take an order. He listened to what we wanted, made thoughtful recommendations, worked with the kitchen and guided the whole experience. Nothing felt forced or performative. It was simply someone who is exceptionally good at hospitality taking care of his guests. Ingredients delivers the kind of quality and experience that makes you feel you're getting more than you paid for. The ingredients, cooking, wine and personal attention are all exceptional. After more than 30 years of eating in San Francisco, I don't say this lightly: Ingredients has given us some of the best food and one of the best overall dining experiences I've had in this city in a very long time. We'll absolutely be back. That's the version I'd put on Yelp. It reads like an enthusiastic regular customer rather than a restaurant critic, which is exactly what you want there.

I had actually seen this place on Instagram long before I ever came to San Francisco, mostly because of their pre‑bagged drinks. It looked like such a uniquely city thing -- quick grab & go mixes already put together so you don't have to think about it. When I finally made it to the West Coast, stopping here felt like checking off a small bucket‑list spot. You notice it before you even walk in, bright signs in the window, stacked drinks, and that steady flow of locals popping in and out like part of their daily routine. Inside, it's tight aisles packed floor to ceiling with beer, liquor, snacks, sodas, energy drinks, and a random mix of everyday essentials you didn't realize you needed until you saw them. The pre‑bagged drinks were just as cool in person, and what really made it memorable was that they hand you a cup of ice when you buy one. Simple, but somehow makes the whole experience feel intentional and welcoming instead of just transactional. The staff was friendly and quick, clearly used to keeping the line moving while still acknowledging everyone who walks in. It's not a place you browse slowly. You step in, grab what you need, exchange a quick hello, and head back out to Mission Street. However, we treated it like a tourist attraction, laughing at the drink names, and hovering around while we each picked a drink. Not a destination shop in the traditional sense, but for me it was. I haven't had that experience recently, but it did happen more than once.
