Been here twice and I've enjoyed the service both times. best to come with an appointment as they don't have a ton of staff and every time I've come in they are busy! The space is spacious and clean. My french gel manicure was completed with great attention to detail and I did not feel rushed at all. Whenever my nail tech made a mistake with the design she would self correct and only stop when she was satisfied with the end result. My nails looked fantastic at the end, and they lasted really well for 3 weeks! Will definitely be coming back. Reasonable prices too! read more

After having a manicure done at another "highly recommended" but overpriced de-Lux spot in cute & trendy Hayes Valley just a few days ago --which did not hold up. Their idea of a manicure left much to be desired AND after just one day the 7 day no-chip polish chipped and my manicure looked nonexistent. We were in San Francisco for a friends birthday party and I desperately need to get a manicure and pedicure. I pulled up YELP and looked for a location that was relatively close by, open for the next few hours and had good reviews. I found Roses Heels. We arrived a little bit early and found parking across the street easily (paid parking). The location is on a corner and when we showed up, they kept the store front locked. Having been born and raised right outside of SF, I understand, especially for woman who are working alone, why they take this extra precaution. When we arrived at the door, they quickly validated who we were and let us in. It is medium size salon and doesn't have the fancy spa chairs, but I have to tell you, that was ok. Why, because the care that was taken to do my nails (mani and pedi) was so well done and with care, these woman are amazing! The salon is clean, and has a Asian decor that is comfortable and relaxing. The chairs are ones that are deep and you sink into - very comfortable. They had all the colors to chose from and while I did a French tip, they were able to discuss and match the pinkish base as well. I absolutely will visit this location again when I am back in town. If you are looking for a nail salon that truly cares about its customer, this is the place. read more

I almost wanted to gatekeep this nail salon, but after 3 years of coming here I decided to give them a much deserved review. I've been to every nail salon in the city and while I do love over-the-top nail designs, not one salon in this city can do gel nails without a super thick layer of gel. We've all been to "that one place" with the 1,000+ reviews, but they want you in and out, do not care about the health of your nails, and overcharge. Rosy Heels reminds me of the days where my mom would take me to the hole in the wall Asian nail shop with the sweetest ladies working there. Helen and Kim are those sweet ladies. They are wonderful and give you the most relaxing experience. I really enjoying coming to this shop because I know they're going to take great care of me. I have naturally long nails and after different nail shop totally ruined my healthy nails, Rosy Heels brought them back to life. It is a no frills salon, no giant massage chairs and they specialize in natural manicures and pedicures (no acrylic). When I say it's the best pedicure I've ever had I mean it's THE BEST. I really wanted to give 5/5 stars, but unfortunately my most recent visit was not up to their usual standard of quality. I've been to Rosy Heels four times now (three times in late 2019-early 2020 and most recently earlier this week, early 2022). Though the decor is not exactly modern, the salon itself is clean and not too cramped, and they currently have every other chair blocked off for COVID-19 distancing purposes. Staff were double masked and wore gloves for the entire time, which I appreciated. I called around 4:45 PM for a same-day appointment at 5:15 PM, and the salon was empty when I arrived at 5:10 PM. I've only ever gotten my nails done here, so I can't comment on the pedicure process. The nail prep treatment itself is very good; I like that they remove old gel nails with light dremeling and soaking with reusable nail clips (to hold the tissue in place), unlike foil like other salons use. The cuticle and nail prep is careful and meticulous. However, I only feel comfortable recommending their gel nail service (~$34), about which I have no complaints. The regular / non-gel nail polish application (~$24) was unfortunately very streaky and bumpy, with obvious air bubbles, and you can still see the scratches from the buffing underneath. I believe they use a polish brand called WAVE instead of your usual Essie or OPI, but I was quite disappointed with my most recent visit, especially since I'd had such a good impression of their services before. UPDATE: By Thursday night, two days later, the nail polish was already chipping at the edges. That said, I still tipped them 20% like usual, since they've done a good job in the past and I wouldn't want to tip any less to service workers in this time. I can't help but feel a little bummed though. TL;DR, go here for gel nails only, not regular nail polish! (There is not much parking in this area, as street parking can be difficult in SOMA. I'd recommend BART/MUNI, as it's walking distance from the Civic Center BART and several bus stops.) read more

Helen is such a pleasure to work with. Try and come here when they're not so busy to ensure top knotch work! I leave this place with my feet and toes feeling brand new. The area is definitely sketchy as there are lots of homeless people even sometimes homeless encampments within the neighborhood. Street parking is limited. If possible, try to get dropped off/picked up. Helen and her colleagues keep the doors locked so just patiently wait til they open it for you before entering. read more

Great place for a basic manicure. They don't go overboard with chopping your cuticles off yet make them neat looking. Since I stopped getting gel and acrylics, I mostly do my nails at home. Nails polish application isn't crisp and doesn't last long. They haven't updated their nail polish collection and they don't have a great selection either. read more

For 25 years Helen and Kim have been my favorite mani/pedi waxing and facial salon and my first GO TO spot choice. Every single time I go in they pamper me above and beyond and always make me feel like a queen!! They take such amazing care of me and all of their clients and their personal touch in every service they provide is phenomenal. After 25 years these beautiful women have become family and it's always the most relaxing and enjoyable part of my day when I visit. They work hard and their prices have stayed affordable when they could be charging double but they don't. They are so sweet, kind, thoughtful, and funny. I love talking to them and most times hate to leave because they have been my sanctuary FOREVER!! I just found out last week that Helen and Kim are retiring at the end of this month. A nice little hole-in-the-wall nail spot in SoMa. It's definitely a no frills spot, so don't come expecting a higher end establishment. No massage chairs, but you do get tea and chocolate cake, so there's that. My technician was so nice and she did a solid job. I have some real tough cuticles and I asked her to really dig in on multiple fingers and she obliged with no attitude. $30 is a bit high for gel manicure in my opinion, just like $15 is high for a standard manicure. Solid nail salon in SOMA! Reasonably priced, very friendly service and great extras. They always serve tea and cake when you arrive and have a great color selection. I've come a couple times and they do great gel manicures that last a long time. Only room for improvement is that even if you make an appointment, you may have to wait. I've been going to Rosy Heels before the pandemic, and once it was safe for me to go again recently. I've had both waxing and mani/pedi done here. The technicians over here already have their Barbicide certifications posted on the wall AND a separate cert each for COVID protections. I would just like to say, Helen and the other ladies are really nice and pay attention to detail. The first step they do is to get my feet a nice warm soak with petals and some kinda bath salt mixture. It's really my favorite part. The basic service gets this treatment. They also include hot towels and a lotion massage at the end of it. The place may look a bit more outdated than let's say, a high end spa, but the service really does make up for it! I really enjoy going here. Tip: Get an appointment! This applies even more because appointments are necessary when we're still doing COVID protections. Wow, what an amazing nail salon. I've gotten so used to other salons that I forgot that getting your nails done is more than about getting paint on your nails. These two ladies took an hour pampering me. They sloughed off the dead skin, massaged my feet, shaped my cuticles and the list goes on and on. The ladies are extremely lovely and funny. My feet are relieved. It was a badly needed pedicure. Kind of like when you are starving and pretty much everything tastes amazing. However, this was an excellent low tech pedicure. Meaning there was no crazy spa chair but It was very comfortable. It took all of 30 minutes for her to clean up and buff my feet. I'm feeling light on my feet again. They also offer you tea and cake. What a lovely little place. I am an out of towner, looking to treat myself while on vacation. Rosy Heels was near my hotel. Unlike other salons I've been to it was small, quiet, and peaceful. My manicurist took her time and asked me often if I was happy with the results. She did a terrific job on my hands and feet, which have been neglected for the last year and a half during the pandemic. they were all double masked but also let me know that they were vaccinated. I highly recommend this little place. The only thing I missed were the massage chairs, but she gave a very nice massage to my legs, feet, arms and hands. read more
