Been here twice and I've enjoyed the service both times. best to come with an appointment as they don't have a ton of staff and every time I've come in they are busy! The space is spacious and clean. My french gel manicure was completed with great attention to detail and I did not feel rushed at all. Whenever my nail tech made a mistake with the design she would self correct and only stop when she was satisfied with the end result. My nails looked fantastic at the end, and they lasted really well for 3 weeks! Will definitely be coming back. Reasonable prices too! read more

Super nice ladies and a good spot for a quick, simple manicure. I got color gel french nails for $40 (regular gel is $35) and it turned out really well! The interior is simple but clean and comfortable and they had plenty of colors to choose from. It was very simple to call ahead of time to schedule a time but also it seems like walk-in should be fine most days. read more

We were in San Francisco for a friends birthday party and I desperately need to get a manicure and pedicure. I pulled up YELP and looked for a location that was relatively close by, open for the next few hours and had good reviews. I found Roses Heels. We arrived a little bit early and found parking across the street easily (paid parking). The location is on a corner and when we showed up, they kept the store front locked. Having been born and raised right outside of SF, I understand, especially for woman who are working alone, why they take this extra precaution. When we arrived at the door, they quickly validated who we were and let us in. It is medium size salon and doesn't have the fancy spa chairs, but I have to tell you, that was ok. Why, because the care that was taken to do my nails (mani and pedi) was so well done and with care, these woman are amazing! The salon is clean, and has a Asian decor that is comfortable and relaxing. The chairs are ones that are deep and you sink into - very comfortable. They had all the colors to chose from and while I did a French tip, they were able to discuss and match the pinkish base as well. I absolutely will visit this location again when I am back in town. If you are looking for a nail salon that truly cares about its customer, this is the place. read more

After having a manicure done at another "highly recommended" but overpriced de-Lux spot in cute & trendy Hayes Valley just a few days ago --which did not hold up. Their idea of a manicure left much to be desired AND after just one day the 7 day no-chip polish chipped and my manicure looked nonexistent. Obviously I regretfully paid for the vibe & location however my manicure should have been the priority. SO in my need to correct the mess Luxsf made, I walked in to Rosy Heels. Not only were they attentive and kind, but they gave me the proper care and attention my nails needed without pushing for unwanted services nor being overpriced! I will definitely be back here next time I visit SF! read more

I almost wanted to gatekeep this nail salon, but after 3 years of coming here I decided to give them a much deserved review. I've been to every nail salon in the city and while I do love over-the-top nail designs, not one salon in this city can do gel nails without a super thick layer of gel. We've all been to "that one place" with the 1,000+ reviews, but they want you in and out, do not care about the health of your nails, and overcharge. Rosy Heels reminds me of the days where my mom would take me to the hole in the wall Asian nail shop with the sweetest ladies working there. Helen and Kim are those sweet ladies. They are wonderful and give you the most relaxing experience. I really enjoying coming to this shop because I know they're going to take great care of me. I have naturally long nails and after different nail shop totally ruined my healthy nails, Rosy Heels brought them back to life. It is a no frills salon, no giant massage chairs and they specialize in natural manicures and pedicures (no acrylic). When I say it's the best pedicure I've ever had I mean it's THE BEST. This place is unassuming! They don't have those massage chairs, they have a better cozier lounger. It's wide and cozy. I was there before close for a mani/pedi and they both turned out fabulous. The ambience is quiet and clean. And I might say the best pedicure I've ever had. read more

I'm happily and eagerly handing over five stars because of how lovely the two owners of this place are, how affordable it is, and how pleasant the experience was overall. It is certainly no frills, but you get your nails done for a great deal, by really nice ladies. I've been to TOO many nail salons where people are talking crap about you while they work on your nails... and while I'm not one to be overly sensitive about these things, I have no intention of going to such places when spots like this exist. Thank you to both proprietors for taking good care of me, hyping up my color choice, and being so accommodating after I changed my mind two times. They also do waxing in the back room and if you try hard enough, are really great conversationalists and actually pretty funny/sassy duo. read more

I really wanted to give 5/5 stars, but unfortunately my most recent visit was not up to their usual standard of quality. I've been to Rosy Heels four times now (three times in late 2019-early 2020 and most recently earlier this week, early 2022). Though the decor is not exactly modern, the salon itself is clean and not too cramped, and they currently have every other chair blocked off for COVID-19 distancing purposes. Staff were double masked and wore gloves for the entire time, which I appreciated. I called around 4:45 PM for a same-day appointment at 5:15 PM, and the salon was empty when I arrived at 5:10 PM. I've only ever gotten my nails done here, so I can't comment on the pedicure process. The nail prep treatment itself is very good; I like that they remove old gel nails with light dremeling and soaking with reusable nail clips (to hold the tissue in place), unlike foil like other salons use. The cuticle and nail prep is careful and meticulous. However, I only feel comfortable recommending their gel nail service (~$34), about which I have no complaints. The regular / non-gel nail polish application (~$24) was unfortunately very streaky and bumpy, with obvious air bubbles, and you can still see the scratches from the buffing underneath. I believe they use a polish brand called WAVE instead of your usual Essie or OPI, but I was quite disappointed with my most recent visit, especially since I'd had such a good impression of their services before. UPDATE: By Thursday night, two days later, the nail polish was already chipping at the edges. That said, I still tipped them 20% like usual, since they've done a good job in the past and I wouldn't want to tip any less to service workers in this time. I can't help but feel a little bummed though. TL;DR, go here for gel nails only, not regular nail polish! (There is not much parking in this area, as street parking can be difficult in SOMA. I'd recommend BART/MUNI, as it's walking distance from the Civic Center BART and several bus stops.) read more

Helen is such a pleasure to work with. Try and come here when they're not so busy to ensure top knotch work! I leave this place with my feet and toes feeling brand new. The area is definitely sketchy as there are lots of homeless people even sometimes homeless encampments within the neighborhood. Street parking is limited. If possible, try to get dropped off/picked up. Helen and her colleagues keep the doors locked so just patiently wait til they open it for you before entering. read more

Great place for a basic manicure. They don't go overboard with chopping your cuticles off yet make them neat looking. Since I stopped getting gel and acrylics, I mostly do my nails at home. Nails polish application isn't crisp and doesn't last long. They haven't updated their nail polish collection and they don't have a great selection either. read more

A nice little hole-in-the-wall nail spot in SoMa. It's definitely a no frills spot, so don't come expecting a higher end establishment. No massage chairs, but you do get tea and chocolate cake, so there's that. My technician was so nice and she did a solid job. I have some real tough cuticles and I asked her to really dig in on multiple fingers and she obliged with no attitude. $30 is a bit high for gel manicure in my opinion, just like $15 is high for a standard manicure. Especially, in a salon without amenities, but it is SF. Overall, 4 star service in a three star salon. read more

Solid nail salon in SOMA! Reasonably priced, very friendly service and great extras. They always serve tea and cake when you arrive and have a great color selection. I've come a couple times and they do great gel manicures that last a long time. Only room for improvement is that even if you make an appointment, you may have to wait. I waited 20 min today even after calling ahead but it was fine especially with the tea and magazines to pass the time. They do take credit cards but cash is preferred. read more

For 25 years Helen and Kim have been my favorite mani/pedi waxing and facial salon and my first GO TO spot choice. Every single time I go in they pamper me above and beyond and always make me feel like a queen!! They take such amazing care of me and all of their clients and their personal touch in every service they provide is phenomenal. After 25 years these beautiful women have become family and it's always the most relaxing and enjoyable part of my day when I visit. They work hard and their prices have stayed affordable when they could be charging double but they don't. They are so sweet, kind, thoughtful, and funny. I love talking to them and most times hate to leave because they have been my sanctuary FOREVER!! I just found out last week that Helen and Kim are retiring at the end of this month. It broke my heart to hear this because I am going to be lost without them and replacing them will be impossible but I wish them both enormous happiness after retirement and for the future. I've been going to Rosy Heels before the pandemic, and once it was safe for me to go again recently. I've had both waxing and mani/pedi done here. The technicians over here already have their Barbicide certifications posted on the wall AND a separate cert each for COVID protections. I would just like to say, Helen and the other ladies are really nice and pay attention to detail. The first step they do is to get my feet a nice warm soak with petals and some kinda bath salt mixture. It's really my favorite part. The basic service gets this treatment. They also include hot towels and a lotion massage at the end of it. The place may look a bit more outdated than let's say, a high end spa, but the service really does make up for it! I really enjoy going here. Tip: Get an appointment! This applies even more because appointments are necessary when we're still doing COVID protections. Call them a day in advance, or the morning of. read more

Omg! Omg! $25 pedicure in SoMa is unheard of, and they are so clean!! It's a pet peeve of mine when places don't follow state board procedures, and the staff is super friendly and they took me last minute. They also offer cake and tea with their service. I've been wanting to try this place for the last 2 years and I am so happy I did! I cannot be happier, plus it's down the street from my work.i think this is my new place I'm SF! Had an amazing experience at Rosy Heels! They have exemplary service and a range of different services to choose from as well. I went in for a mani pedi - Helen was incredible, enthusiastic and efficient. I let them know I had to rush out in an hour and they made sure to be cognizant of my time. Wow, what an amazing nail salon. I've gotten so used to other salons that I forgot that getting your nails done is more than about getting paint on your nails. These two ladies took an hour pampering me. They sloughed off the dead skin, massaged my feet, shaped my cuticles and the list goes on and on. The ladies are extremely lovely and funny. My favorite part is that although two customers came in, they didn't rise to finish me. They still took their time and did a complete job. I love this place and you now have a loyal customer. read more

My feet are relieved. It was a badly needed pedicure. Kind of like when you are starving and pretty much everything tastes amazing. However, this was an excellent low tech pedicure. Meaning there was no crazy spa chair but It was very comfortable. It took all of 30 minutes for her to clean up and buff my feet. I'm feeling light on my feet again. They also offer you tea and cake. What a lovely little place. I am an out of towner, looking to treat myself while on vacation. Rosy Heels was near my hotel. Unlike other salons I've been to it was small, quiet, and peaceful. My manicurist took her time and asked me often if I was happy with the results. She did a terrific job on my hands and feet, which have been neglected for the last year and a half during the pandemic. they were all double masked but also let me know that they were vaccinated. I highly recommend this little place. The only thing I missed were the massage chairs, but she gave a very nice massage to my legs, feet, arms and hands. read more

It does hurt, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Your first wax always hurts the most because obviously you don't know what to expect, but it does get better after the first strip. I have to say though, what really helped ease my nerves was how chill the whole environment was. The staff makes every client feel welcome, and in my case Erin was super friendly, thorough, and overall such a vibe. It made the entire experience feel a lot less intimidating. They also have complimentary snacks and drinks and initially I passed on them because of how nervous I was, but after my session, best believe I ran to the snack station. As an SF native, I am proud to say that I will be returning to reWAXation as a regular! I am so glad I found this gem. However, my last visit left me a little disappointed because while it was extremely relaxing and the service was great, I'm not so happy with how my actual nails turned out :-( I did the Volcano Spa service for both my pedicure and manicure which were absolutely lovely, along with gel remove and gel on both my fingers and toes. The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength.

A very tasteful, custom design for an 11 y.o. They lasted almost 4 weeks but finally time to take them off. We made an appt for 2:30 today and due to Jenny not getting the message we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.

this is the second time that i'm pretty sure that i got uninvited (microscopic) guests from this place. nothing can be CERTAIN, but i haven't been anywhere else and the place of infestation is right where your arms lay while receiving the work. i truly want to love this place through and through, the owner and staff are sincerely wonderful, you get a great service at a reasonable price. but geez, this insane itching is just not worth it. every place should CLEAN their towels, etc. each and every time, well and with hot water. i won't try for a third case. i'll be giving my arms/skin a break! read more

That stupid manager of the salon is mean can't manage to handle more than 3 customers if your the 4th person they will tell you to come back for 35 mins. They don't even consider how far you live? They will just let you go. I think that's not a good treatment to their customer. They considered busy just for have 3 customers. They are more than 3 workers in that salon. I had a perfect experience at Rosy Heels today. I was greeted kindly, given hot tea and red velvet cake upon sitting down in a large comfy chair. The warm water had rose petals at my feet, and mint leaves with my hands. The lotion was warm, the hot towels and massage were nice, and the best part was the hot pad on my shoulders. Their price for a regular manicure/pedicure is reasonable and well worth it. I will definitely return for their great service. read more
