I decided to go here for dinner today. They have a lot of food choices, with many of the dishes being authentic Mexican dishes. The service here is always good. The parking is slightly difficult to find being that it's a shared parking lot. The ambiance within this restaurant is awesome as they sometimes play good music. I decided to go with the carnita pibill dish. That pork was nicely stewed, tender and flavorful. The horchata drink that I had with my dish was sweet, authentic, and delicious. The service was really good. The food was average. We got tacos all around, which should be delicious since they're hugely basic, but they were just okay. My daughter put cholula and pepper on hers to give them flavor, which I have never witnessed before. I will say Rosy's is better than Don Juan's, but I doubt we'll be back. read more

Rosy's is always good, we went for a late lunch/early dinner and we're seated right away. Our server arrived right away with the usual warm chips & salsa which is always enjoyed. My wife and I stopped in here for a quick Friday night dinner. We like to try new places and we like Mexican food. My wife was thinking there was a reason that we hadn't been here in the past. As we sat down and looked over the menu, my wife remembered why we hadn't been here. They offer beer but no mixed drinks. She is a margarita drinker and loves to have one with here food. Rosy's is my tried and true, never lets me down! I always get the fajita combo and live on the meat and veggies for a couple of days. Went to Chuys at the town center a few weeks ago and ordered the same dish and it was half the portion size and $8 more than Rosy's. I made sure they knew they were ripping people off! This Texas transplant has been pleasantly surprised by Rosy's Mexican Restaurant. Truly the best Mexican food we have had since moving to Jax. The margarita on the rocks, delicious. The pork tamale, delicious. The beef crunchy taco, delicious. The flauta was the only thing different from what we are use to. Instead of a fried corn tortilla with either queso or guacamole, it has a flour tortilla with a sweet & sour sauce. It was still pretty tasty. They do not offer charro beans, but the refried beans were smooth and flavorful. The Mexican rice, also flavorful. Highly recommended if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. read more

The complimentary chips are stale and bland- we ate one and only one. My chimichanga was ok. Wasn't great but wasn't bad. Overall our meals lacked flavor. The service was friendly and fast tho. Won't be back due to the horrendous stomach cramps I got after eating here. read more

I enjoyed my Chicken Quesadilla but my friend got the Chicken Fajita Quesadilla and it was not as expected. The menu says it comes with "mixed vegetables" which you would think would mean that it came with green peppers and onions like a normal Fajita Quesadilla, but nope! It came with Zucchini and Carrots (???). So random. After waiting a long time for the server to come back so we can tell her that is not normal and it would have been nice to be told that they make it different, she finally came over and we asked politely to get a different entre since we didnt expect that, she said "well, you could have ASKED" and then stormed off. I told her to just take it off the bill and we went elsewhere. It may be just that server so that's the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars. read more

Solid Mexican food. I think some other reviews may have been a bit overkill as the chips and salsa were fine --wouldn't say amazing. Pork tamales were good --not the best I've ever had but good. Shredded chicken and ground beef were both very flavorful. Would get shredded chicken tacos and beef enchiladas again but I would opt for the enchilada without the queso (personal preference). Enjoyed the guacamole and pico de gallo. My 7 year old enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries. The service was great. Solid experience for the family on a Sunday night. Spacious enough with a mix of booths and tables. Refried beans and Mexican rice were also very good --very flavorful and perfect texture. In the area, needed a quick bite. Not stellar but super friendly service and clean tables and dining room. Food was good, not great and presentation was more like you would see at Denny's than at some of the nicer Mexican restaurants in the area. The salsa was perfect, with a little spice, but not too much, so great for those who don't prefer fire with their food!! The Queso was a highlight as well, slightly salty, but perfect! The meal came with refried beans and rice and Mexican salad. As far as ambience, it is a little place 4268 Oldfield Crossing Dr, Ste 107. Jacksonville. Very calm and subdued at 4:30-5:30 while we dined . The service was excellent!!! Jacqueline was extremely attentive and very, very helpful!. The only downside to the experience is that there was no handicap sidewalk entrance. My wife is in a wheelchair and this can prove challenging at times. Please, try Rosys!!! I've been wanting to try Rosy's for quite a while - several of my workmates rave about it. It was a definite 3.5 experience (come on Yelp - give us those half stars!) First bite was the salsa - super thick & kinda tomato-paste-like, some flavor, but nothing bold. Next came the guacamole - super creamy - good flavor & plentiful- a nice step in the right direction! I opted for an enchilada & chile relleno - the enchilada was ok - the sauce needed some spice. The chile relleno was nearly perfect - golden crispy batter, but the cheese left the scene & had to be scooped up with a chip! Not a bad first experience - but left room for improvement. 2.5 stars for Rosy's. This was our second visit in the past couple of years. Our first wasn't memorable (neither great nor lousy) so we returned. Their Sunday afternoons are quite busy, but we had terrible service even though there seemed to be plenty of staff. We waited 20-25 mins for our dishes (very unusual for standard dishes - tacos & enchiladas). My taco salad was delicious! The best I've had in a long time, not a soupy mess like they can be. The wait for the food and for our server to return with the check, payment, etc. was just not worth it. We'll stick with Los Loros. read more

TERRIBLE!! Found a BUG in the salsa - when we told the server she only said sorry. We had placed the order so we decided to stay. We waited for over 50 mins and NEVER got the food. When we asked what the holdup was, the server said we still had to wait 10 to 15 mins more. We decided to leave and were charged for our drinks (sodas) after that TERRIBLE service and experience.
