I had an ABYSMAL experience with the manager at this location and left a review detailing my horrid experience. It seems MY REVIEW HAS BEEN REMOVED. The manager at this location spoke horribly to the sales staff who were incredibly helpful and kind despite the manager's disgusting behavior. To add, she very obviously discriminated against my family and I, rolling her eyes and being extremely and shockingly rude. I hope she was fired!!! DSW is my usual spot for footwear, so it was a little weird to visit an actual shoe store with actual shoe salespersons. Rothys popped up as shoes that are travel friendly, versatile and eco friendly. 5 stars for being made with recycled plastic, washability and style (black twist slingbacks). 3 stars for comfort- the salesperson said the shoes would not stretch, but they felt ok at first. After walking in them for an evening,you really feel it- hard, inflexible, no support with rough materials rubbing skin. For the price, I'd skip these slingbacks if looking for comfort. A better choice would probably be the ballet flats or m janes. read more

I've come here a handful of times and a few times I've walked out with a little bit of everything. Other times maybe with a couple of things and rarely with nothing. This is a much bigger store than Fillmore SF. If you have ever been there, this is a much spacious and comfortable experience with space to walk around and try on shoes. Service has been consistent when I have come; they are all fairly nice and help out with getting you the items you want. Lately I have noticed the lack of bags/purses. But they can order items for you here and have it sent to your home. I do get the emails from the events they do here...wish I could come to them. And being this store is way too far from me, I do make a stop at their Livermore location (Rothy's outlet!). I've been a Rothy's fan for many years and I enjoy coming to check out the stores. Rothy's has been pretty much all I wear for the last 3- 4 years, especially before covid, I wore them to work everyday. Now I wear them at home doing yard work, to the climbing gym, to the grocery store, to the farmers market, to the mall. I bring them when I travel, go to the beach, visit the dentist, yes, everywhere. They are comfortable, easy to wash, light in weight, durable (even the flip flops) and stylish but low key. l mostly have their points, flats and squares, I can easily adjust/pick which one I want to wear depends on the occasion or my mood. The ONLY cons there may be is it may not be super comfortable if you wear them for too long (not just girl's flat shoes, but also men's sneaker has this problem). I am so excited to see the store coming here in the south bay. Workers are super friendly and helpful. I was able to try on a few colors without having to wait although it was pretty busy. Great to finally see all these handbags in person as well! They look better in person, light in weight which is a huge plus, and seems very well made. I own a good handful of shoes from Rothy's some were painful in the beginning but otherwise love their shoes. But I experienced the same problem as others with the bad customer service. I got the lady with the blonde hair... I walked in 10 minutes before closing and I already knew what I wanted I just wanted to try it on to be 100% sure. When I walked it she looked at me from head to toe and was looking at my child with a straight disgusted look on her face. And when I asked her to try on a shoe, she hesitated and just walked to the back and get it. I offered to leave and just come back another day when they're not closing yet. Then, a male sales associate butted in and said not to worry about it. He was very kind and saved the experience to be a better one. I made sure my purchase was made through him. I wish I can leave a separate review for this guy and a separate one for the blonde girl. Overall, it started really bad. I felt uncomfortable and discriminated in a way. Came in looking to try on the Driver shoe. Fred who helped us was so friendly and helpful. He got our sizes, looked up other products and answered all our questions. It felt like we were talking to a friend he was so helpful and nice. My mom and I got the drivers in black and Latte. So extremely comfortable and versatile. Nicole was very unprofessional, she was eye-rolling and had a dismissive attitude. Her demeanor detracted from what could have been a pleasant shopping experience . Love the shoes. Detracted stars because after telling the saleslady that I was thinking of wearing my new shoes out of the store, she abruptly left and came back. While she was gone, she apparently marked my purchase as final sale in their system, and only after doing that told me that wearing shoes out of the store means that they are final sale and not returnable/exchangeable. After they canceled my order so I can use a different payment, I was unable to use the discount code again. I have been going to this store since it opened in the mall and I LOVE these shoes!!! Everyone gives great customer service. Especially the sales gal w/ short blond hair. She is AMAZING!!! Honestly I likely never would've bought any pairs if it wasn't for her. She's super patient and is clearly knowledgeable about the product and which items are most complimentary to you. The price might be intimidating for some, which I understand, but I honestly live in these shoes bc they're so well made and so comfortable that they are worth the price. I purchased my first pair of Rothy's online last week and they're so comfy and the perfect work sneaker! As I was shopping in the mall, I decided to go in to browse and the staff is AMAZING!! Desiree and Cici are so sweet and we had so much fun. I ended up purchasing 2 bags and the shoe cleaner. My next purchase may be the limited edition purse or the slip on sneakers-- not so sure, I love everything there (my favorite part is that everything is machine washable!) Des and Cici were such sweethearts. My friend briefly went to Cole Haan before making a purchase and tried on 2 CH, and decided to go for the Rothy's (and he's owned many CH shoes in the past!) The staff at Rothy's Valley Fair are all so friendly and helpful. When they let you know about the quirks of Rothy's shoes, LISTEN TO THEM! I've always been nervous to try new styles online, and I've found that I have slightly different sizing depending on the shoe style. It has been so helpful to be able to go into the store and actually try on various sizes and styles without needing to deal with the hassle of online returns. Everyone at Rothy's is always so patient as my try-on pile stacks up. It seems like Rothy's has been constantly releasing new things; I'm always finding something new every time I visit. I came in looking for a comfortable work shoe and was disappointed I had to size up around 3 sizes for them to work. When I found the pair I wanted! The round leopard flats, I ordered them to find out that the "manager" or whoever the short hair lady is ordered the wrong size. I called for it fixed. So I was intrigued by the way they are fabricated, they are sold to be a airy, mesh, bouncy shoe. When I received mine, it's not airy. In fact my feet sweat. They are mesh, they make my feet stink. $100 something on something that feels I got at Payless. A few months later, I almost got ran over by that short haired lady coming out of my shop (because I work here too) muttering get out my way! A simple excuse me would've sufficed. read more

I've personally own more than 10 pairs of Rothy's as to date...not including my husband's...and was SUPER EXCITED to learn about this new store in San Jose (closer to home). Often times, I go into the Rothy's store in San Francisco and check out the colors and sizes in person. I went over this past weekend, to try on a pair of what turned out to be "display shoes". The Point shoe and oh boy, the lady that was working there was hella rude. I wanted to see if the color matches my skin tone and she BARKED at me, THAT IS A DISPLAY SHOE. WE DO NOT TRY ON ROTHY'S DISPLAY SHOES. The sales associate here can help you with the size you needed. And I've replied I'm sorry, the San Francisco store didn't mind us trying the display shoes (which is what you can do in any other shoe shop) and SHE YELLED BACK, NONE OF OUR STORE ALLOWS IT! Ok, that was enough for me to leave and never come back. Take your money and go to the San Francisco store instead. The customer service is kinder there. read more

I'm still fuming from the rude customer service I received in this store today. I ordered the "Driver" online and when I received them and tried them on, the toe box was extremely tight. I initially went in to exchange them for a half size larger but the fit wasn't comfortable. After looking around, I wanted to try a different style as I'm in desperate need of comfortable flats. Unfortunately, what changed my mind is how the sales lady - slim African American woman with long braids, interacted with me. She lacked customer service and quite frankly she was snappy when I asked for a larger size! After witnessing how warm, talkative and friendly she was with other customers, I decided not to spend my money where I was treated so rudely. She took them out of the box and asked "how long have you had them"? And muttered something about 30 days. I replied "not long, I have the shipping invoice I'll pull it up for you". She then quickly asked "DID YOU WEAR THESE"!!? I was shocked at her tone and I quickly replied "NO I DID NOT"! I watched her as she wiped her hand across the bottoms of both shoes several times, seemingly examining for debris. I have never worn these shoes other than to try them on inside my home. There was silence, then she said "I didn't mean to startle you" followed by, you'll receive an e-mail and walked away. She never asked if I wanted to try a different style, never said have a good day, she simply walked away. I have never in my life been spoken to like this in a retail store.
