I love this store and have always had great experiences, which is why this visit was a little disappointing. The staff wasn't as friendly or welcoming as I'm used to, and the store felt pretty messy and chaotic. That said, I still love the candles and all the great deals--they're the reason I keep coming back! There's so much to browse, but without much assistance from the staff, the layout can feel a bit overwhelming. A little more organization and a bit more kindness would make the shopping experience so much better. read more

Since I was at the mall, I'd thought I check out Anthropologie. They had quite a bit of seasonal items. They had lots of candles, candle holders and cute coffee mugs. I really love their unique glassware and dishes. They had a nice selection of costume jewelry including earrings, bracelets and necklaces. The also had some unique beaded purses. Went into Anthro today to try on their new summer dresses! I love when u can see the colorful new arrivals at the front of the store. A lime and pink one stood out to me but i grabbed a few others. I love the dressing rooms, spacious and cool vibes. The attendants very helpful to get my right size. These sizes and dresses go fast! Got my dress and a few cute accessories like a hat and coin purse for my birthday weekend vacation. Checkout was easy and staff was very helpful! We bought a curtain rod and the box arrived without the rod inside it, we did, however, receive the hardware for attaching missing rod to the wall. We're told that Anthropologie will not give us the missing rod because we didn't open the package within 30 days (because we are remodeling). Support thus far has been shockingly poor for an error on their side. read more

Beautiful store with excellent customer service. We bought a cup online and wanted to get an exchange since there was a damage. The manager greeted us and went to go find the cup for us. I saw her and she was even checking the cups to make sure she can give us one without flaws. No questions asked. Simple swap and we were even offered a bag. Thank you so much! If you grew up with Urban Outfitters, Anthropolgie is the grown up version of UO. Their clothing is colorful, fun, and chic. They also have home decor and furniture too, all with the same fun and cool vibe. This store moved from the Santana Row location to inside Valley Fair mall. I think the VF location is slightly smaller and don't have as much in stock, but overall there's still quite a nice selection and the displays are always so stylish. I recently found a pair of jeans I purchased online almost 2 years ago but never wore and never will. I found my order online and started the return process online, and then brought them into the store. I'll probably just get store credit, but glad I was still able to return them after all this time. Although I'm not loving all the cropped tops this season, this is still one of my favorite stores. read more

This is one of the stores I must stop in when shopping @ Valley Fair. Love all the clothing, accessories, home decor, and even candles sold here. Customer service is sometimes friendly and sometimes not, but not awful. The shop is very spacious with a nice layout. Love looking at all the styles in trend. This stop is not as big as the Stanford location and does not carry furniture nor plants/terranium merchandise. It's located on the newer wing of Valley Fair. read more

I love Anthropologie stores, this one has been my most frequented one as it's close by. After seeing it closed, I was sad. However, I just realized that they opened a new one at Valley Fair mall, so they just relocated. The new store is not on Yelp yet. I loved the interior as all other Anthropologie stores. Anthropologie used to be my favorite store and was worth investing in the higher price tag. But now the clothing quality is going downhill fast resulting in lots of damaged, full price pieces (sweaters with holes, stitching errors, loose thread). Really disappointing. It's easy to navigate and they even have sales going on in the back! I ended up purchasing a corgi mug for myself at $14.00, which was pretty decently priced in my opinion, especially considering how much everything else costs in the store. My girlfriend was shopping for a dress, and loves their selection. The staff were very kind and suggested different items to try on. One of the staff, Salma, really made our shopping experience great. Salma brought out beautiful clothes to try on, and guided us through the whole process of picking out the perfect dress. When a particular size was not found on the rack, Salma would bring down the exact size we want from upstairs. Phenomenal customer service. Zero customer service. Went in looking for a dress. As I wandered around with a few items in hand, I passed four sales reps. None of them said hello or acknowledged me. (I was there on a weekday morning and was the only customer in there.) I even smiled and said hi to one when we made eye contact, but she just kept walking right past me. This review is a little overdue but I just wanted to say what a pleasant experience I had when I visited this anthropology due to a certain worker! Employee number: 116888 I was coming in to find a cute outfit for Outside Lands and I had one thing in mind: Jumpsuit. But the biggest struggle for a short girl is finding one that fit and didn't need to get hemmed! When I came in she greeted me and asked me right away if I needed help, I told her what exactly what I was looking for and instantly she knew what I wanted, she told me a petite midi jumper would best on my body! She went to the back and pulled a couple of jumpsuits for me to try on. They all fit so great and checked all the boxes for what I was looking for just in time for the event also! I didt think too much since cashier was chatting with me. Before I stepped out the store, I felt something is not right. 200 seems too much. I double check my receipt. Denim jean was full price 120. However, the one on my hand has the sale tag $79.99. I went back into the line and talked to cashier again to see does anything go wrong. The cashier told me that jean is not on sale and the tag is wrong so she needs to talk to her manager The manager came and didn't listen carefully to what happened and asked me. Did you buy this online ? This is not on sale, did you only pay $79.99 ? Did you pay enough ? I am like ???? You put the wrong tag and you are asking did I NOT pay enough money ? horrible. now, I'm a huge Anthropologie fan. I will go into every Anthropologie store I see and usually make a purchase. I was ecstatic when Anthropologie came to Westfield Valley Fair. When it first opened, it was great! Attentive. Then I went in last week and it is now horrible. Absolutely horrible. I walked into the store around 6pm and there was a gentlemen that was fixing a front fixture. No hello or acknowledgement. I passed through home furnishing table of the right. Still no greeting. I sauntered over the clearance area passing 2 other employees, still no greeting - even the music felt stiff. WTF is going on i thought. I started shopping, gathering clothes I wanted to try on. I even stayed around the jewelry area . no one asked to take my clothes to the fitting room. no one asked me if I wanted assistance. I walked to the fitting room and it said "Fitting room closed." Worse yet, there was a lady in the fitting room that just started at me. Nothing. No, "oh sorry we are closed" no explanation. not even an acknowledgement. What an odd f-ing Anthropologie. I was like, ok thats it. I put everything back. Went to the cash register, where there was no one there. I was returning something then if you arent going to let me exchange. sheesh! Then finally waived an associate down that was speaking to the fitting room associate. the cashier was friendly enough. I told her man I wouldve made a purchase or exchange since stores are suffering so much right now. But your fitting room is closed?! It's only 6pm. and she said, oh we are closing the fitting rooms early. theyll be open again tomorrow if you want to come back in the morning. ok. Let's think about this. Stores are suffering. Most ppl who would be able to purchase something are still working correct? and most likely 9-5 remotely correct? Then why in the world would you close the fitting room when you know the ones that would spend would be after 5pm? duhhhh I left w an online return instead of a sale. Get it together, crew. Honestly really Bad experience in it!( I mean I really LOVE this brand, but I don't think I will go THIS store anymore). I went there for exchanging one of the clothes' size. Glad they save one for me because I called them one day ago. However the shirt they brought to me was really dirty. So I decided to return the cloth and get my money back. And.... funny thing was just happened after that. The gift card which cashier gave to me is only $0.1(I just figure out today when I tried to purchase other things online.) I miss this store on Santana row but just take a longer walk to valley fair now to get there. If you take the entrance by Bloomingdale's, just go up the escalator and it's right there on the second floor. The floor layout seems to make it easier to find items. I actually buy more home stuff than clothes (love their cute dishes and glassware that's always changing) but recently scored the cutest knitted tank-top and long pants onesies that is my new go to for working at home or going out fir a walk. Staff is always cheery and helpful. Overall an even more positive experience since their move across the street. read more

This place is pricey. But tell me "sale" and I'm hopping in my car and marching my way down Santana Row to get myself in here. Or better yet, find me on my laptop adding things to my wish list and then calling the store to put the items on hold for me so that I can try them on. If you asked me how to describe the clothes in here, I would say "whimsical, playful, colorful, girly girl, ultra feminine (I guess that's just another way of saying girly girl), and lovely. Oh wait, did I just describe myself? Yes! Tips: *Get on their online mailing list so that you can get alerts for all their sales. *If you shop online, the reviews for the clothing are from women who take the time to really explain fit, cut, body shape etc. These women are like the Yelp Elite equivalents for Anthropologie clothes. The reviews are *so* helpful if you are debating on whether or not to buy something. *They also do "charge- sends" here just like Nordstrom's. If they don't have an item in store, they will ship it to you free whether it's a sale item or not. read more

I just don't understand Anthropologie. I guess that's unfair because I do have two articles of clothing from there ... but generally speaking it's always been just a very expensive store full of bohemian fashions which get crazy around Coachella time. I've been in here many times, attempted to purchase clothing many times ... but every time I try something on, it just doesn't really look great or fit well. Plus it's like $$$$$$$ and I just don't see the value. Often times the employees here are not very helpful and the sale section is a mess. My biggest gripe is that often times things on the rack are just put back without anyone examining it after someone else has tried it on, so clothes will be turned inside out or something will be awry and you as a customer have to put it back correctly in order for you to try it on or even look at it to see what it looks like. I currently have a $10 gift card for this place and I am not even sure if I can get anything with that. read more

This is not regarding customer service but the "new" July return policy. I have been shopping here religiously for YEARS - my Birthday shop, I call it. On my bday, I let myself buy whatever I want :) The "NEW" return policy is the worst - I bought a few things at the spur of the moment since I was just passing by - it was 20% off sale, Still expensive but it's a sale!! Great, so I bought new clothes unplanned. 4 days pass by and lo and behold, when I was at the Row for dinner, I saw that sale items is 40% off! Happily I walk in, grab the stuff I purchased 4 days ago and asked for a price adjustment. APPARENTLY, NO price adjustment on sale. Okay, so can I buy these and I will return the other unworn - still in bag items. The staff tells me since they know, they will NOT LET ME PURCHASE THE ITEMS. They say that I can buy something SIMILAR but not the same items. ...um..what? You are controlling what you're letting me purchase? Out of principle, I am returning the sale items - I don't need them and don't want them. What happened, Anthro?? Are you guys not making enough money on your $129 dollar white tank top? read more

This isn't just a review for this store and their staff, it's a review for the brand itself. I've been shopping at Anthro for decades. There have been several days where I look down and realize that my entire outfit head to toe is Anthro. Their clothes have taken me from teen to adulthood. Today I officially said goodbye to this brand. The past few items I bought in I'd say the last couple years have really been poor quality. The tags are all still $158 but the ingenuity and the construction have been steadily going down hill. I took 2 such items to return today at this location. Keep in mind, I live at Santana Row so this is my go to store, it's just feet away. I gave the girl at the register my member info and she asked what was wrong with the items. I always give honest feedback so I tell her the truth: "the dress is made of a cheap and itchy fabric, the t shirt couldn't even hold up after one wash in delicates mode as per instruction" She pauses, "oh we don't take back clothes that have been washed" .... Again, I live right next to this location, I shop here year round and I have never once been told this. Not. One. Time. I tell her as much, she says she's worked here for 3 yrs *eyeroll* and that's always been the case. I did a little homework and cannot find any literature stating that on their return policy but I did see that they are updating their policy starting July 9th and that update does specify "unworn/unwashed." I recall one girl that was actually there for at least 3 years and I remember taking a dress back that literally had come apart in the wash gentle cycle and her response was: "No problem, this happens sometimes, it depends on the type of fabric they use, I'll let corporate know that this fabric is too sheer." Very reasonable response. I'll be honest, if you're going to mainly export clothes for around $20-50 and then mark them up to $138 and $158 and *not* honor your previously open return policy, I'm out. Great, great selection and fantastic customer service. I needed a top in a particular size and they did everything they could to make sure I got it, including finding my size in EVERY color of the same style (to check for fit) and ordering it to be mailed to my house for free. Bonus: I accidentally left my keys there and they kept them safe for me to retrieve later. They were super nice about it too! The only thing keeping this from a five-star review is the prices... I really can't afford to shop here unless I have a gift certificate :( Which is why my family knows what to get me for every holiday! read more

I love wandering in here and shopping. The styles are super cute and I always end up with tons of compliments. Unfortunately, the bottom line is that it is mass produced clothing at boutique-y prices. The sale area is always a huge mess and their loose knit items usually has tons of snags. I get sucked in every time I walk by this store... Anthro buys cute, trendy, flattering, high-quality clothes that are made with durable fabric. It's rare these days that you find "cute" and "quality" in the same sentence (not to point fingers at Bebe and Wet Seal... but I will!). Be sure to check out the vast sale collections in the back. I got the pant one day ago but I don't have the receipt but I remember which credit card I use than I ask this girl can you look up from my credit card she said no and than I ask her can you check my email she said no omg this girl just don't know how to help so I ask other person next to her and she can help me she can look up from my credit card just fine and I find out the first girl who said no to me with everything she a new employee. Most of the negative reviews slam the customer service here but I thought everyone was really pleasant, kind, and just incredibly friendly. I hardly shop in-store anymore but I made a random pit stop and I'm so glad I did. Anthropologie is a good store for women's clothing and home goods. The stuff is expensive but every once in a while, you can find real gems. I bought a few items which I could have gotten online to get bonus points through my credit card. But I didn't because the customer service that I experienced was THAT good. To hell with the points, these ladies deal with all sorts of craziness (especially during holidays; this was during Memorial Day weekend). They were just downright nice. They do not work for commission so this friendliness was 100% honest. I can't help but applaud these young ladies. Miranda (?) working the changing room was super great. Super disappointed. I have been a loyal customer since opening. I now live an hour away and made a trip through torrential rain to shop for a dress for a summer trip and family photo shoot. When inquiring about a couple dresses I saw online, the employee simply directed me to the front desk or to check online to see if there is availability in the store. Then, my two encounters with the employee in the dressing room were curt. Both times, she cut me off mid sentence. I get that they were the opening shift on 5/19 but come on! I had come in to actually try on sizes instead of buying online and returning what doesn't work. I guess I will move forward by only buying from Anthropologie via online. Too bad. With this sort of customer service, they too will eventually shut down their brick and mortar shop. read more

If the window decoration and glass terrariums haven't won you over, walk yourself over towards the houseware and mug section. This store has super cute and classy mugs to make your morning cup of tea immensely more enjoyable. This store is quite big and has a diverse inventory to keep your attention. The sales section is located in the back of the store in a little cubby-like area. Compared to the San Francisco store, the sales section here is sparse. However, I would still give it a chance, because it seems like the sale inventory fluctuates depending on the seasons. If that hasn't won you over, you can go a head and take a seat in the store and pet cute dogs near the entrance. read more
