I freaking love Roti! It is very much like a Mediterranean Chipotle... Meaning you pick your base item then all the toppings, salad, hummus, you get the idea. The first time I went I didn't realize that all the extras were included... This makes a huge difference. For me I get a falafel plate which cost's $7.50 (I think) and consists of 4 falafel (great flavor) some hummus, couscous, a couple of sauces, some onions, and rice. Oh wait and feta cheese... MMMM! Of course you can build your however you like, but I have just given you a good start. It's very reasonable in price for the amount you get and the flavor is really good. It's easy to build up the same kind of addiction that one can have with Chipotle. I'd definitely say it's worth checking out. read more

A coworker recommended Roti to me a few weeks ago. And now I'm addicted. I can't stop getting lunch here. It's delicious and a nice alternative to heavier, greasier food. Their online ordering has been down a lot lately, but that isn't this location's fault, so they still get 5 stars. I usually order the pita with chicken kabob meat, couscous, hummus, red pepper sauce, feta and onions. Tip: don't order the onions on anything if you want to impress somebody for the rest of the day. They're incredibly strong [very tasty, but strong], and it's tough to get the smell and taste to leave your mouth quickly. I brushed my teeth thoroughly, twice, and had no luck. I hear the Sultan sandwich is also good, but I haven't tried it yet. I've never waited in line, so I can't comment on that. But there's a separate counter for online orders, and they're usually pretty quick to bring it up or have it waiting there for you. The only thing that would make Roti better is more side options. I'd love a soup, or couscous as a side. Oh, and the baklava is awesome! If I could eat here every day, I would. read more

Really good food at a very low cost. It's fast and easy with a very generous serving of grilled vegetables of you get the rice plates. This is the Chipotle of Middle Eastern Food. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was flavorful but over all okay....all the food is kept cool, so nothing u eat will be warm. I ordered the rice place with falafel as my protein - I got 3 sides/topings with it and 1 pita bread. I took the cucumber & tomato salad, couscous and eggplant curry. And also took addition sides of onion and hummus which were 50 cents each. The Falafel was unique since they don't completely mash the chickpeas. Compared to other express cusine like Chipotle, Piada - found this to be okay ...maybe worth trying once but nothing I will crave! read more

Freshest, most delicious, and pretty healthy. Portions are big enough to save a little for an afternoon snack. I usually get the chicken shawarma or the falafel salad. The chicken is usually my choice. Love the fact they give us so many options for sides with no extra charge. The flavors all meld so nicely. I do wish the hot sauce was a bit more.. There are so many places to drop ten bucks on lunch and this is just another one of them. Overcooked veggies, underspiced falafel, and hummus that's slightly watery. The other reviewers are correct to say that it's like Chipotle. There's a line, the food is bland compared to one's hopes for the cuisine, and the decor is a cheap attempt at modern interior design. Finally! There is a chain restaurant that is accessible downtown that I can eat at. They have a handful of locations in the Loop. I love Mediterranean food and this place is one of my favorites. I get the grilled veggie salad or wrap. Have them toss the salad (lol) otherwise you have to mix it. Great hummus and fresh veggies. The ingredients are always amazing and there is almost always a line out the door so you know they are good. read more

This place is fresh and fantastic! I love the spicy red pepper aioli and the tomato & cucumber salad. I have eaten here several times since I got a new job downtown and it was been like comfort food but healthy and fresh. :) This place is a god send near my office! I would first like to apologize to the staff for showing up. Like they made me feel I should apologize. When we arrived, we were told they were out of everything but then someone came out of the back with "supplies" and suddenly they had food. The food was pretty good. It was expensive for what we received and we paid and the cashier walked away without saying anything and I wasn't sure if she was going to get something or if my credit card had gone thru and we were good to go. Btw I paid with a credit card because another employee, possible a manager, was telling everyone something about, "I have already said this a bunch of times about taking cash," so I was scared to pay with cash. This is a great place for a quick meal that doesn't sacrifice quality or taste! We ordered the chicken kebab, the chicken roti, and the falafel. You order Chipotle-style. You can add as many toppings as you'd like- our favorites were the pickled onion and the couscous. Our favorite the chicken roti and everything comes as a large portion. Consistently good food... not fantastic, but solid and reliable. One of my coworkers said Roti is to mediterranean food as Panda is to Chinese food and that's about right. I just wish Roti would realize that many people take food to go and introduce a second drink size - the only size they have is small (okay if you're eating there as there are free refills, but too small for me to take to go). Roti redefines the mediterranean cuisine for me. they have their perfect signature flavor and i would not be exaggerating it by saying that i am addicted to their food. Their kabobs are cooked to perfection and there is something about the flavor and texture that sets it apart from all other run of the mill mediterranean places (with respect). I went to a Roti near where I work downtown. If you're in desperate need of some food from the Med, this place is ok. But to be honest I've had better. For the price, I had a flatbread with felafel, you didn't get much. The pita bread is far too small. There's in Roger's Park called SP Kebab that does better food, for about the same price. Roti is simple to describe to those who have eaten at a Chipotle before. Take Chipotle's limited yet fulfilling menu, conveyor belt-like serving system, quality ingredients, and reasonable prices and convert it to a mediterranean style cuisine. Your choices come down to a salad, a sandwich, or a plate with rice. You can then choose your type of meat (Steak, Chicken, Veggie, Falafel), and finally you pick your toppings/sides. Again, it is very similar to Chipotle. I've been here numerous times and every time I choose the salad plate, simply because you can choose as many toppings as you'd like, whereas the other items limit your options. The meal is always tasty and VERY filling, tastes fresh, and is a quick serve option. The bottom line is that if you're looking for a quick lunch option that is tasty and has quality ingredients, this is a great place to go. This was a very pleasant surprise! We got the falafel rice plate. The falafel was cooked perfectly while being soft and moist o the inside. They had a number of wonderful additions such as Eggplant salad and cous cous. The red sauce was a bit overpowering so I may skip this next time. The best part was the fresh pita that it came with.
