We have only been in our house 3 years and a previous company who shall remain nameless certified our tank before we moved in. Little did we know we had two tanks. Rotor Rooter advised us that based on the size of the house that company should have known that there was two. I would highly recommend Rotor Rooter they are honest and provide quality work, I will use them again for sure when need. So we called the Rooter due to a full tank of poo. After reading all of the other local plumbing reviews it seemed that they all had the same thing in common. A lot of good reviews with some one star reviews about bad customer service or overcharging for services. From what I was seeing they all seemed the same and that wasn't helping in our decision. We ended up calling the Rooter simply because of the classic jingle.... "call Roto Rooter that's the name and away go troubles..... down the drain" well we hit brown gold with these guys ! Not only did they immediately send someone out "thank you Jose'" but big Joe came right after with the poo pumper and cleaned out our brown trout tank in no time flat. Well, my shower stopped turning on. I called a plumber out of the phone book (not roto rooter) and I had to wait two days. Then they called me the day they had scheduled with me and canceled and said next week. I was angry. So I googled other plumbing services and Roto Rooter came up. I set up an appointment online for the next day because I had to work. I received a courtesy call before Ronnie showed up. I was quoted a price right away and I accepted. This is the second time I have had to use Roto-Rooter. And I was very pleased both times. Last year I had my house connected to the City sewage line and I called Tom at Roto-Rooter, he's the owner and he came out gave me an estimate. I was ok with what he was going to charge and he told me when he could start, Tom had men here in the next few days. It took about a week with inspections and they where finished. We were very disappointed with their service. They claimed that they pumped and inspected the septic tank. They gave us quote to replace the tank, which was very high. We had 2 other companies come out and estimate the cost to replace. Roto-Rooter was twice as much to do it. when the company came out to replace the septic tank was almost full. We did not have any problems with the leech lines or septic tank for 21 years and they tell us that the tank failed which we knew it would as it was original to the house and that the leech lines failed and if that were the case we would have had problems with overflow long before now, as in one week the tank was almost full with one person living in a one bedroom with no laundry and showers once a week. They said they have documention that they pumped and disposed and yet its their word against ours, and no way to prove. $575 to pump and inspect and then another $300 to pump prior to removing septic tank. FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO DO YOUR SEPTIC WORK. THEY GOUGE LITTLE OLD LADIES! BEWARE.... read more

Although the service response was very fast, the price estimates are a bit pricey. It costs $79 just for a diagnostic and the price goes up from there depending on the use of tools, equipment, and removal of toilet, etc...Besides that, I was satisfied with my service even though it only took five minutes to fix. read more

They did a horrible job on my septic tank removal and addition, they ripped out the grass, broke pipes on our sprinkler systems, threw the dirt everywhere and even in our drive way, left a mound of dirt, when the dirt/grass were level, when I called they said if it's not in the work order we are not doing it or fixing anything. Was disappointed after all of the good reviews. Called in the morning and was told I would receive a callback when they were able to set a time. By 3 PM I still hadn't heard from them, so I called another plumber. At 5 PM one of their guys showed up, no call. I had to leave for an appointment, but my wife was home, and informed the gentleman that since we hadn't heard back, we secured someone else to do the job. She said he was, in her words, "pissed". All we needed was better communication! I would suggest that in the future you would give a 'courtesy call' if you are extremely backed up. Update: received a phone call and apology this AM, which was appreciated. I upgraded them to 3 stars for trying to make things right. read more

My husband and I went through our home warranty company and was referred to a horrible company. We then decided to forego our warranty and call Roto Rooter after three days of no hot water. Ronnie came out and diagnosed our unit. He was thorough with his explanation of diagnosis and his options of repair. We decided to replace the hot water heater was not pressured into it. Ronnie had my home back up and running with a new hot water heater in less than 24 hours. No more showering in the RV or boiling water to wash baby bottles!!! Called and spoke to Barbara, she told me the price for an angle stop replacement was $277 ($52 more than the other company, but they had already no-showed) and someone would be dispatched promptly. I asked her "can you please call me when you have an approximate eta to my home. It's 8:30 at night and i already had one company cancel on me." She assured me she would. An hour later after no phone call AT ALL i called to cancel my appointment. I felt moderately bad for her when she said she was new at the job and assumed that the technician would call when they had a time, but i'm the one with the leaky toilet at 9 pm, so my sympathy levels were depleted for the day. The "office manager" called my cell back 20 minutes later leaving a voicemail asking what they could do to gain my business......... Um, how about having someone call me back within an hour and actually coming out to my house. Don't advertise an after hour service if you can't deliver. read more

Technician (John) was there right on time and with everything he needed for the repair. He explained what the issue was, how to fix it, and even taught me a couple things about plumbing. I live in the Antelope Valley and when I call Roto Rooter Im not sure where they come from certainty doesn't say on the invoice. The phone number that called me looked like Victorville. I had used these people before for yard leaks and drain problems. This time I had an attic leak. They wanted to send the restoration guys also I declined. After the guy came out and saw there was minimal damage he called the restoration guys right out. Everything they had to say revolved around frauding MY insurance company. The plumber, Tony, replaced a plastic ice maker tube in the attic for $485.00. way over priced. Although he had a long enough piece of tubing he was too lazy to replace the tube all the way to the ice maker, and left the extra in the attic. meanwhile the other 2 guys decided to demo the entire kitchen over approximately a 3 foot square wet spot, going on and on about the insurance company will cover all this and I will have a new kitchen. They proceeded to demolish my kitchen without closing off the kitchen from the rest of the house and when they tore our my ceiling all the insulation and debris flew all over my house, covering everything. Claimed they only had 1 truck to haul the trash with it took 2 weeks of allowing the stuff to blow all over my yard before they came to pick it up what was left in the pile. when they called for payment I explained the extensive dissatisfaction I had experienced over the month long kitchen ordeal. they refuse to cover the cleaning I was left with. The only thing they wanted to do was have the same guys come and deep clean my house. I refused to have them back as I have already been cleaning everything myself. Part of the contract I don't recall seeing covered clean up...since they did almost no cleanup I feel I need to be reimbursed. I WILL NEVER CALL THESE PEOPLE AGAIN.
