Hmmm. Not sure what to think about the pizza here as I liked one but not the other... My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered two different styles of pizza to try: 18" classic cracker thin and a 13" classic craft cheese. We both agreed the smaller cheese pizza was the better one! The bigger cracker thin one had a very strange almost chemical-like taste to it like it was not made out of pizza dough. The "dollops of crushed tomato sauce" (as per the menu) looked and tasted like globs of tomato paste. I hate to say it but I did not like this pizza at all. I'd come back here to try the deep dish or other specialty pizza but I would not get one of the cracker thin pizzas again. I've tried Rotolo's twice as dine-in when they first opened up; those experiences were lackluster at best. On the first go round, I found the food to be just okay, although I appreciated they had a few vegan options. The second visit, the food was a bit better. But both times the customer service was subpar and the wait times were a bit ridiculous (1 hour to be seated and the another hour to obtain food). Although packed and loud, the place was clean. (Would've given two out of five stars, if just these dine-in experiences.). I have ordered takeout from them many times now. For my Takeout orders, the website/app sometimes has glitches that I then have to call in to order. Most times the customer service is okay and the pizza is good. Very disappointed. We started off with the brussel salad. It was ok a bit oily. We moved on.to the garlic chicken pizza, it went down hill from there. I've never had Detroit style pizza so I was excited to try this. The crust was soft inside, crunchy on the outside with a sharp cheese frico. 10/10! Sweet heat chicken wings were perfectly baked and the chicken itself had a great flavor. Truffle fries were pretty good, but not very hot. Served with a butter sauce underneath. Atmosphere is family friendly. Our server, Brendan, was upbeat & happy to answer questions and give menu advice. We ordered the spinach dip, meat pizza, & the Popeye. Spinach dip was the consistency of soup. They serve it with sliced pita corners that have garlic butter on them. We were not fans. I prefer a baked spinach dip that's thicker with cheese backed on top. Pizza crust was from the original pizza crust section of the menu & the crust is amazing! Went here for a girls night and had a great meal! I got the shaved Brussels salad which was huge...a meal in itself. And the pesto honey mustard dressing was awesome. I had the krewe cheese sticks, which are much a small pizza and were delicious. And the corona 126 pizza was outstanding. We had very good service and a great experience. Ordered online and had a terrible experience. When I arrived, there was no one at the hostess stand. I waited for several minutes before finally having to walk into the kitchen just to find someone to help me, which is completely unacceptable. The food is massively overpriced for the quality. The pepperoni even had a string attached to it from where it was cut, which was gross and showed a serious lack of attention to detail. They charge premium prices but deliver a very subpar product. I visited on a Thursday around 4 PM and the place was completely dead, which honestly wasn't surprising given the experience. I won't be coming back. read more

Loved this new spot in Nexton! I gave it a few days after opening before going since it was so crowded! I went on a Monday and there was plenty of seating. The hostess was pleasant and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The truffle fries were amazing!!! I could have ordered another one. Lots of drink options if you want an adult friendly beverage. I also got the shrimp scampi wrap but devoured it before I remembered to take a picture! Overall, it was a great experience. I think they're still working out a few kinks in their system, but I will definitely be back. The space is very open though so it creates a lot of loudness in the building. Ordered take out of a pepperoni 13" pie and 8 piece wings. Wings were so good - my 3 year old really enjoyed the pieces we let him have. We ordered hot (wouldn't classify them as hot per se since our 3 year old enjoyed them) but they were quite delicious. The pizza was really good, though I'm sure it would have been wonderful in house. Used the app and it was a bit hard to navigate. Was unable to use the discount offered. I wanted to go some place new for lunch that I haven't been to yet. We decided on Rotolo's and I am so glad we did! We went for lunch on a Wednesday. It wasn't too crowded but there were some other people there. They have special slices for each day, which I think is nice. We got the spinach and artichoke to start. It was so delicious! It comes with some warm pita bread and the bread was delicious even on its own. Then we got The Big Apple pizza but the spicy sausage only on half. Our server put regular sausage crumbles on the other half without us even asking, which I thought was a very nice touch! Genuinely the tiniest amount of food I have ever paid such an insane amount for. 3 pathetic pizzas for SEVENTY dollars? Not to mention the wait time - pickup time was 6:47. Leaving now at 7:23. Turn off online orders if you're that backed up. Free dessert also looks pathetic - burnt nasty cookie cake thing. Thirty minute wait time after ordering in advance is a refund thing - NOT a free cookie thing. Mind you, I am going to a birthday event so I have a cake in the car. I didn't need the burnt cookie thing and I don't appreciate it one bit. Hostess was apologetic but management needs to do better. 30 minute wait after pickup time is not a free cookie situation. Also? the detroit we ordered was so haphazardly shoved into the box that half of it is stuck to the top of the box. 22 dollar naked pizza that i get to pull the toppings off cardboard to eat. I really want to give it 5 starts because the traditional Detroit style is the best pizza around...as good as it gets. Especially air-fried leftovers. But, no matter how much you beg them to put toppings on, they just won't put enough on to notice - especially bacon. If they actually added bacon when you order it with bacon, there's no way it wouldn't be unbeatable. They'll still charge you for it but will never put more than a smidge on. I noticed a new pizza spot opened near Nexton and I was SUPER excited to try a new restaurant in the area. Unfortunately after walking in and waiting to be seated. I noticed the staff didn't appear to be cleaning the tables off properly or on a manner that appears sanitary. The staff had a cloth that looked dry, no cleaning spray or solution and they just wiped the table with the cloth. I went to be seated thinking maybe I'm being a bit judgmental..so we go to sit at a table and there is literally food crumbs in the seat/chair from the previous diners that sat there. Menu, ingredients, and recipes are created inside of a corporate boardroom and are too salty and too greasy. Value for food is very poor. A Detroit pizza cost $22 and was 8-1/2" x 6-1/2". Went for early dinner on 2/3 with hubbie and friends. We all had dinners not pizza. I had Chicken Alfredo it was very good just a tad saltier then I like it but good. Hubbie had Lasagna he said it was good but said it was missing the ricotta cheese in the middle of the layers. Our friends had spaghetti & meatball which they said were good. At 11:02am I attempted to open their front door. The women standing thee looking at me just stared, so I hand gestured are you open, pointing to my watch. She continued to stand there staring at me, and then made a gesture that appeared to say just open the door. I attempted to and it was still locked and she Yelled at me "I'm opening it". I walked away. The best food in the world can't save poor service. Judging by a few other reviews, " poor and "sub par service" seem to a pattern here. Everything was flavorless. The best part was the included garlic knots and they were mediocre at best. Way overpriced for this level of crappy food.
