I want to start off by saying once we found this place we kept going every two weeks. Pizza is amazing! The red sauce isn't too acidic so it's a good sauce if you have acid reflux. Not saying it won't give you that at all but less acidic is good. Their large pizza used to be $20 back then but they have really gone up in prices recently so we don't go as often as we used to. The 45-minute wait gave me time to look around the restaurant and notice some significant cleanliness issues, including the air vents being caked with dust and what appears to be water-damaged tiles. All day happy hour on Tuesdays is def my type of spot. The new fall cocktail menu looked great. The drinks we tried from it like the Maple leaf and spiced apple cider. The Van Helsing pizza of the month was great. I enjoyed a side Caesar salad as well. Our bartender / server was fantastic. Very attentive. The ricotta dip was amazing also! We started with the tre meatballs. For dessert we enjoyed the smoked calzone and a colossal cookie. For convenience purposes, i met up with family here while moving one of them into a new residence. It was easy and we didn't feel pressured to get dressed up, very casual was fine. I was greeted upon entry and met my party. There were about 5 table occupied. Our server was friendly, but there was no urgency or anything about anyone that worked there. Well, there was to take my order - she came to the table every 30 seconds and we asked her to give us a few minutes. Then we got about 10 minutes before she came back.... We ordered and thus began the wait.... after about 20 minutes, i guess she saw us fidgeting a little and said it they were working on it, but the kitchen was backed up because there were a lot of take out orders. I get that, but there has to be a way to communicate that when ordering. Also, there has to be a way for the kitchen to prioritize those who chose to dine in house. (I will have to remember this location is not conducive to dining in. During our wait, I was the only one who was given a drink refill although the other two at my table emptied their drinks. (One received a refill once his food came and he practically had to put the drink on a place to be knocked off the table.) Our food then made its arrival in waves - after nearly 30 minutes, one meal came out and (not our server) the staff said it was put in as a starter even though it was what one patron ordered as her meal. Then about 4-5 minutes later, another dish came out - a meatball poboy served with potato chips, and then another 4-5 minutes later, my salad arrived. Reviews of the food were lack luster - the cheese sticks (a flat cheese pizza) were very oily - drops were dripping off the meal. The poboy was sort of just a dry looking meat ball crumbled and put on a toasted bun of sorts. there wasn't sauce or anything. And my Kickin Chicken salad looked absolutely beautiful, and it wasn't bad, it was just drenched in the wing sauce. Also, it was served in a round pasta bowl that was very messy to eat at the table from. The kicker was when we were eating, a MAJOR health code violation occurred. A full can of kitchen rubbish was walked out of the kitchen and through the dining room door, past two tables of people eating, to be thrown out in the dumpster. Health code prevents that. So after handling the can, the staff member walked back in and past everyone again and back to the kitchen. No gloves on the way out... no gloves on the way in.... The bathroom had very small bugs crawling on and around at least one toilet. One of the stall's lock cover was off so that removes some privacy. So the pizza is okay enough, if someone else orders it, I'll eat it free of charge to me, the service is consistently slow, the other menu food is mediocre, and the store is overall unclean or practices unclean standards. Staff was very friendly, and i do see that they are hiring, so maybe some additional staff will help with the speed and quality of service. I probably won't even find out though after a few of these sort of experiences. read more

My cousin and I were craving pizza, so we came to this location on Perkins Rd, because the other location on Burbank Dr. was swamped and it would have been a 45 minute wait. Anyway, we were seated and placed our drink order. However an unusual amount of time had passed and we had not received our drinks. We were about to get up and leave when our server (named jay d) and apologized and said he was helping with some other customers who didn't speak English, but he had our drinks ready. So we decided to return to our booth and give the restaurant a chance. We ordered the roasted red pepper hummus as our appetizer that included some pita bread, which was delicious by the way. However we finished the bread and still had some hummus left, so we requested some extra bread in order to finish off our hummus. Our server said that he would get the bread for us, but also took our leftover hummus, which we didn't ask him to do. We then placed our order for our main course. For me it was the deluxe combination calzone (which was delicious) as well as a Caesar side salad. My cousin ordered the Greek salad, add chicken and pepperoni as her main dish. We received our salads and saw that the lettuce was brown. Not only that, but my cousins salad did not have the pepperoni and chicken that she requested. So we sent our salads back and she ordered the deluxe combination calzone, like I did. Since we didn't eat our salads we decided we wouldn't pay for them, so our order was discounted. We did enjoy our calzones and they were hot and delicious, but when we finally got our extra bread for the hummus we were done with our meals. After paying our bill, and before leaving I requested a refill on my drink as well as a lid for my cup. We waited for what felt like 15 to 20 minutes and when our server returned to fetch his mobile terminal, I reminded him that I was waiting for my refill and his response was "Oh, I thought you could come to the front to get it" (b**ch, what?). Well, while we did enjoy our appetizer and calzones, and we did tip our server 20%, the service overall was subpar. We still love Rotolo's Pizza, however whether or not we will return this location remains to be seen. read more

I finally tried something other than pizza here and can say the food is just as good as the pizza! A well-rounded pizzeria with tons of other yummy food options. This time I got the three meatballs and a Caesar salad as an entree. I thought the meatballs would be a little bigger than what I got, but they were so good. The sauce they were in was a delicious red sauce, and because I got takeout, when I got home I added some paremesan to the top, and I ate all three meatballs. The Caesar salad was a typical Caesar salad, but tons of croutons, which I liked! Wasn't a huge fan of the dressing, didn't really taste like Caesar dressing to me, but it was fine. There are so many Rotolo's around me, but this one on Perkins is the closest. The location is always clean and always fast with serving food. We stopped in it was not busy. Only 1 other table. Took 30 minutes to get our food. Ordered the Brussel Sprout salad. It was raw brussel sprouts with pepperoni tossed in a bowl with some dressing. This is for an order via DoorDash. Got an 18 inch meat feast and 14 inch cheese. Quick service but was surprised at the cost (the meat fest was $31! & cheese was $18, all before tax/tip of course). I remember when Rotolos used to be a solid option when I wanted pizza, but sadly, times have changed. I stopped in and ordered a medium cheese pizza for my son, and when I got home and opened the box, I was shocked. The pizza did not look appetizing at all -- it looked like something a kindergartner threw together. The cheese wasn't quite burnt, but pretty close (similar to photos others have posted) and because of that, my son wouldn't eat it. Just not good. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Ordered a pizza for pickup, it said 20 mins. We came in 20 mins were told it would be 20 MORE minutes... Waited those 20, then was told 15 more minutes. We ended up leaving without a pizza because I wasn't convinced it would ever be done. Honestly I'm surprised that a place that makes mediocre pizza (we've had it before) at such a long wait time can also charge $25 for a pizza. I understand that places are low on staff but do not promise 20 mins when it's going to be significantly longer. Unprofessional and poorly ran business in my opinion... I've been to the restaurant once and had the pizza a few times at events and it's just okay. It's the closest place to my house so that's why we tried to get it, but we ended up with a frozen pizza from rouses that was probably better anyway. read more

The food was all good. I went with a big group with my coworkers. We got two appetizers since they are half off till 6 weekdays. We got the spinach artichoke dip and mozzarella sticks. The pita bread that the spinach artichoke dip came with was soft and sorta fluffy but surprisingly good. The mozzarella sticks were basically equivalent to a cheese pizza slices into strips with marinara sauce. It wasn't bad but not what one would expect. Drinks are buy one get one till 6 too weekdays. Our server was friendly but you could tell she wasn't used to big groups. She kept mixing up drinks and she mixed up the calzones when they brought them out. She also forgot what everyone ordered and had to come ask before she split the ticket. It is busy on Wednesdays since its $5.99 calzones so I'll cut her some slack. They have many calzones to choose from and you are allowed to choose any of them for $5.99. If you want to create your own you can choose 3 toppings for $5.99 but their kinds they offer seem to be a better deal. read more

Looking for other options, my colleague was looking for Pizzas and found Rotolos on his search near the hotel. Quaint little place in a strip mall, clean, not fancy, but well laid out. Large eating area to the left for booths on side and large tables in the middle and a few booths to the right with tables all looking at the bar/kitchen. We ordered a couple of beers and looked at the menu. Opted for the muffalata salad- a meat/greens/olive salad and a med crispy 3 topping pizza to split. The salad took nearly 30 minutes to come out- but the server had a huge 10 top to tend to so I won't deduct for his effort or the kicthens. We got our salad and pizza nearly at the same time which was awkward- as I like to eat the pizza when hot- hits the table. So I did. Just ate pizza first then the salad. The salad was very special. It was not a pan full of greens put onto a plate and tossed with dressing. There were pepperoni and canadian bacon laid around the edge of a large bowl. Then the salad- greens with muffalotta mix making it quite rich but very tasty. It would take a server a good 4-5 min to make if they were responsible for salads- but either way, I could come for the salad alone and be happy. WAY too much yucky overly sweet sauce on the pizza with a MUCH thicker crust we don't like and they are EXTREMELY stingy with the cheese on a CHEESE pizza. The meatball appetizer was ok and saved them from a 1-star review but the pizza was terrible. They were so stingy with the cheese that the was almost a two inch gap between the crust and where the cheese stopped. Walmart's $5 frozen meat pizza is lightyears better than the crap we paid top dollar for here. I can't believe it's the same chain since the other one is so much better. I ordered an angry pig pizza and a calzone online and was told that it would be ready in 25 minutes. When my partner went to go pick up the pizza and calzone, he had to wait an additional 35 minutes longer than the expected wait time, to receive the WRONG pizza that was also COLD. My 12" pizza was $19 wasted, and now I am heating up someone else's pizza and not enjoying my dinner. Considering the website requires me to create an entire account that took an additional amount of my time (and required 2 forms of contact - email and phone #), the least they could've done is send me a message or called me to let me know my order would be late or cancel it if they were overwhelmed like my partner told me they were. The website does not allow for communication about order problems and they are not answering their phone. I've visited this location plenty of times, for calzones, pizza, etc. I'll offer a list of pros and cons for anyone interested: Pros: - The calzones. The calzones are simply delicious. Perfectly cooked with delicious bread you can dunk in a cup of sauce while the inside is full of goodness. I've tried probably 6 different flavors and always leave happy. - The cheese sticks are fantastic. Super tasty and loaded with cheese on a thin crust. I can't help but order them every time I go. - The place is clean and neat. Neutral: - Service is average. I've had a few times where I left disappointed in the service, but it was never enough to keep me away. - The pizza is just okay. If you find a kind you like it's not bad at all, but there's better pizza in Baton Rouge. Not calzones, but pizza. (If you get a pizza or a Calzone, get the Krewe!) Cons: - The toppings on the pizza are bland and don't add much flavor. We've ordered the deluxe combination and others like it multiple times, and the peppers are constantly undercooked, and the other toppings don't add much flavor. I used to love rotolos. It was a quick and good spot, easy on the wallet etc. lately I'm so disappointed by it. The chicken Alfredo calzone is my favorite and it's never consistent. An order a few months ago was just humongous chunks of tough chicken and drowning in sauce. Just ordered again and there is absolutely no Alfredo sauce whatsoever. It's just dry chicken and bread. For $14 dollars. I also ordered on door dash and the driver had to wait 45 minutes once she arrived for there to be barely anyone there and the staff telling her they don't know why it's taking so long. Rotolo's is a good option for lunch or afternoon pizza outings but it has become hit or miss for me. The pizza is pricey but sometimes it looks thrown together. They also stopped serving whole wheat crust at all their locations which was the main reason I would frequent Rotolo's for pizza nights. The calzones are pretty good and on Wednesday they are discounted. I have gotten many different pizzas from here and The Popeye is probably my favorite. The bbq chicken pizza is good but it's really plain only consisting of red onions and chicken. The chicken Florentine was not good like I hoped. There was a lot of spinach and not a lot of sauce. I had a hair on my pizza. The chicken on the Florentine and on the Chicken Alfredo pizza was so hard and dried up and crumbly it tasted and looked like bacon which I didn't like. I would get pizza from Rotolo's here and there in the future but not often as I used to. read more
