Went today for lunch and they have a great pizza buffet and salad bar and it's only $7.99 Everything was delicious, so many different kinds of pizza on the buffet. They even had a few dessert pizzas on the buffet plus if you ask them they'll cook up a pizza of your choice for the buffet at no additional charge. They salad bar had a nice mixed salad and also spinach leaves also lots of topping from boiled chopped eggs to purple onions. They also had a few choices of salad dressings and some crackers. They have a nice game room with air hockey table, pacman and a few more games. The restaurant is clean and the people are friendly so next time your craving pizza head over to Johnny's its on wax in Central it's right by the Sammy's and Los Palma's. This place has the BEST PIZZA !! I drove 28 minutes from my house just to pick up a pizza from there, they are in Central and we live in Zachary so it's a little drive but it's so worth it. We got a Mighty Meat pizza and a Chicken ranchero pizza. We love all their pizza's the cheese pizza is the best cheese pizza is best anywhere hands down. My family and I, along with a large group of friends, dined at Johnny's Pizza House on Wax Road in Central, Louisiana, on July 29. We spent over $200 on pizza and were looking forward to enjoying our meal together. After we sat down to eat, we discovered a live roach crawling across our table, right around our food. We immediately notified our waitress and the manager on duty, Stephanie. She apologized initially and said she would "make it right." Unfortunately, that never happened. Throughout the remainder of our visit, Stephanie never came back to our table to apologize or check on us. Before leaving, I went to speak with her to ask how she planned to make the situation right. Her response was that she would "spray the building." I asked how that made things right for customers who had just experienced roaches crawling on the table while we were eating. I then asked for the general manager's or owner's contact information. Stephanie first claimed she was the only manager. She then said she would give me the owner's name but instead told me to "figure it out yourself," told me not to come back, and walked away. Finding a live roach crawling on the table where customers are eating is unacceptable. What made the experience even worse was the way the situation was handled. Instead of showing concern or attempting to resolve the issue professionally, we were met with dismissive and rude behavior. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend eating here. The restaurant appeared to have a serious cleanliness problem, and the customer service from the manager on duty was extremely unprofessional. I will be filing a complaint with the local health department so the restaurant can be inspected. This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. read more

1st timer here. Staff wasn't welcoming. When asked if I was ready to order, I immediately told them it was my first time. No effort was made to assist any further. The restaurant was almost completely empty with the exception of 2 small parties. We ordered a crustless sweep the floor bowl, cheese sticks, buffalo wings, and a meat flip pie. The food was prepared and delivered to us fresh. The wings were over cooked, but we decided to just keep them to avoid the hassle. This place is hit or miss. If it's good it's really good, it's it bad it's really bad. Last night I got a bacon cheeseburger pizza that had no sauce on it. This happens 50% of the time. Very unwelcoming. 1st time visiting. Last time visiting. Everything about this visit was horrible. Couldn't understand the waiter taking my order. They want to charge $2.99 for a faucet water. Actually ran my pizza out and tossed onto table (I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THERE). No plates, no serving utensil for the pizza! Last straw was charging $1.09 for a side of ranch which I'm totally fine with, however asked for payment once it was brought out to my daughter. The pizza was decent. We ordered a 1/2 order cheese bread, original crust pepperoni pizza and an extra thin Hawaiian pizza. I really had high hopes for this based on most photos but I wasn't super impressed. The cheese bread didn't have cheese all the way to the end the bread so it was like having crust on both sides with some cheese in the middle. They were dry and flavorless. For me to not like cheese bread means it tastes pretty bad. The pepperoni pizza had good flavor but both pizzas were the same thickness so I think the pepperoni was made as extra thin. To me, if toppings go all the way to the edge, that's a thin pizza. My husband said he didn't like the flavor of the Hawaiian pizza. He also said the pepperoni tasted better than his Hawaiian. I was trying to find a replacement to the Domino's since they opened the new location out here - their quality has gone down the tubes. It's hard to find anything decent these days in Baton Rouge unless it's much smaller portions that are overpriced. read more

Well to sum of this review I heard this was a great pizza place so I wanted to check it out. Drove down to the place and ordered the "Sweep the Kitchen" pizza because it looked so damn good on the menu. We got our pizza and it "LOOKED" delicious but like they say everything that looks good isn't good and everything bad isn't always bad. I took a bite out of the first piece and it was warm and not hot even though I watched them take it out the oven and send it out to our table. The whole pizza lacked flavor and taste, we had over 5 different toppings and could only taste one and the rest were all bland and without a good tatse. Somebody else may find this pizza great but I'm not that person BUTTTTT I will say the dough is really soft and chewy like pizza should be. read more

This place is SOOO inconsistent that you have to check your pizza when you receive it. Now, if the pizza is done correctly then it's really good. I've been to the original locations and let me be honest here. This location has definitely dropped the ball. I have some good pictures available but I had to add a total of 3 toppings. Eat here all the time. Usually get buffet or take out. Staff has always been nice and the pizza is very good in my opinion. They have two originals that I really like. The chicken ranchero and a dessert pizza called a peach pie. You will not get those anywhere else and they are awesome. The buffet has always been well maintained and they will will make a pizza if requested for the buffet. Just order right when you get there because they have to make it. read more

In 1979 Monroe LA, JP was the place for the best pizza ever. Fast forward to 2017, and my first trip to the one in Central. Same amount of toppings on the Sweep the Kitchen, an abundance that no one else beats. But sadly, pizza is served in the plate it cooked in, and though the bottom of the crust is browned, it's drowning in moisture. Today for lunch I'm eating the leftovers, heated directly on oven rack and it's all good. This could be the best pizza ever, but they need to work out the soggy crust when eating in. Tonight we headed over to Johnny's to have pizza and celebrate my son's birthday. We've been there before many times. I've never seen the same face twice behind the counter. Anyway, there were 5 of us. My son and his gf ordered first, then my husband (all 10" pizzas) and my daughter and I split a 12" pizza. We all ordered drinks. We sat down and waited, and waited. They brought my husband's pizza. Maybe 10 minutes later they brought mine and my daughter's pizza. About 15 minutes later I had to go to the counter and ask Gracie who rang up our order where the other 2 pizzas were? The manager, Jamie could not have been more rude. She checked the order in the register (which I was not given a copy of) and said "Yeah - they were never ordered. So, if you want the pizzas, you'll have to pay for them" and I said "Of course I'll pay for them - I thought I already did and was waiting on them. How could this happen?" Gracie said "It's been a very busy night - the pizzas will be out in 10-15 minutes". So, 30 minutes later I found myself at the counter again. Receipt and table number in my hand. "Are the pizza's ready? I was told they'd be ready in 10-15 min." After going back and forth recounting what happened, Jamie said to Gracie "Just refund their money". So, we stood there not knowing what was decided. Is she giving me a refund and the pizza's? Or just the refund? Is that her way of telling us to leave? Am I getting the pizzas? Did they even make the pizzas?? Jamie went to the back counter, would not look at us and refused to speak to us. Horrible customer service! So, I asked Gracie "What are we doing exactly?" My husband, daughter and I were finished eating, but the birthday boy and his lady friend were still waiting on their pizza's. Jamie had no intention on filling that order after they made the mistake. Actually, nobody really understood how the mistake was made in the first place. Gracie called out the order correctly, but she omitted to put it in the register. The receipt is not itemized or I probably would've caught it. Jamie said "My GM doesn't give out free pizzas - too many people say their orders are wrong so they can get free food". Say that again Jamie? Maybe your crew needs more training so less orders get screwed up and customers aren't requesting refunds. I didn't want a refund, we still wanted the pizza's. Average pizza. However, probably some of the best pizza in Central. I feel like all pizza places in the country or boonies, no matter where you are taste more or less the same. Similar to what it would taste like if you cooked it in your own house. Not bad at all, but not extremely good either. It was good and I liked the buffet. I would probably return. Finally a really good pizza in Central. The marinara sauce is perfectly delicious. The regular crusts is outstanding. The toppings are unusually flavorful and aromatic - sausage tastes strongly like sausage, ham the same. The toppings quality is unapproachable by anyone in the Baton Rouge area - really. I need to mention the chocolate chip cookies. So much hot creamy chocolate that dares one to prevent a drip to the shirt...hot crispy and tons of creamy chocolate. Are there better pizzas and do they really get 5 stars. Not in the BR area and yes they deserve five stars. Fleur de Lis used to have the best pizza, but not nearly as good as they used to be - going back many years they were awesome - not so much any more but still good. Try Johnny's lunch buffet. Salad, bread sticks, marinara sauce on the side, a good variety of pizza and chocolate chip cookies that beat grandma's. My favorite pizza is pepperoni and jalapeno, but their meat lovers is competing because of the flavor and aroma of the meats ... this is the most outstanding thing that gets them 5 stars - er besides the marinara sauce being the best and most flavorful I've ever tasted. I might be the only naysayer but.... I ordered a build your own with shrimp. The shrimp were microscopic (like the shrimp in those bags of dried shrimp you see in stores), very sparce & that's not an exaggeration. I've ordered shrimp pizza from other places before where the shrimp was a lot bigger and the taste was amazing. Also, the seasoning on the pizza just threw the taste off that much more.
