I can not say the food was bad. The waitress (Wendy) was new as I was told made an error in billing us. When I went to checkout the bill was wrong. The cashier told me only a manager could fix it. However when the manager came and I explained that it was only 2 of us not 3 and the charge for and extra 4for4 was wrong she assured me I was charged the correct amount the first time $21.90 not $30.99. Well I check my card statement and in fact they charged me $30.99. I called and was told no manager was there and I would have to call back the next day. So I called today only to be told by the same person as the day before that I could have a store credit. Unbelievable, I don't want it. I want my money returned to my card. Round the Clock staff looks shady and corrupt. The error that seemed innocent now makes me wonder if it was intentional. As a member of management we have to take responsibility for any errors our subordinates make. We have to fix them immediately. Round the Clock refuse to. By the way she (Yocelyn) told me that if I wanted my money back I would have to take that up with my bank (card provider). First, the hostess seats us at a table that clearly was not cleaned---had used dishes and tip money still on it which she removed in front if us and placed menus down. We did not sit, told the manager and she sat us at another table. Waitress didn't even introduce herself and barely opened her eyes(seemed to be under some drug influence). This is my favorite breakfast place. The decor makes it so cozy, the service makes you feel like a kid who needs to be babied and the food just seals the deal. Very disappointed appointment with the service a few days ago. Went there with my wife because I've never been there and she said it's ok. So I said ok. We were seated promptly and sat a both. Our waitress came to our table to take our drink order after 15 minutes of waiting. After another 10 minutes she came back. During all this our daughter and two sons came and joined us. She noticed them and took their drink orders. Now, she takes or food order which she totally got wrong. Wrong soup which was cold and she was spilling all over, gives bread with no butter and no silverware to eat the soup. Then she got the rest of the order wrong and food wasn't all that great. Never did see the waitress the rest of our 1 1/2 hours of miserable service. We said something to one of the other workers and they said she's new. Well she needs more shadowing with another waitress. Side note: I work in the commercial cleaning industry and they need to be visited by a state inspector for cleanliness. Clean up the dead bugs and cob webs by the windows. This is just my observation from sitting down and never walking around the restaurant. read more

Like with everything else it has gotten more expensive which I would accept if their service and quality would increase or at least stay the same and not decrease. My big thing is if you expect me to pay for your service know that I expect some type of effort on your side. Carry out: The past few times that I've ordered carry out they have really disappointed me. I always give a tip for carry out because I know many waiters/waitresses don't enjoy putting that order together because they don't get anything extra from it usually. Nobody's fault. However, when I called back I explained my situation to the manager, who proceeded to actually tell me "No". This place has all the components to be a really good restaurant. The place looks cool, in and out. They have all the right equipment, except for the employees. And I am assuming the owners wife or mother who was annoying everyone in the place giving them the stink eye . Our waiter brought us the drinks right away. When we ordered It took less than 10 minutes to get our salad, and entrée. My salad was a bit wilted. Probably from being room temperature. My turkey panini was luke warm and the cheese looked old. That confused me as it came out so quickly. Was there an extra just sitting around? I had no ketchup for my fries and I didn't see the little boy who was serving us until we were finished. My friend got the chicken salad and the cottage cheese, chicken and fruit was room temperature. Do they not have a working refrigerator? He said that what I got is the best thing on the menu. Typical diner food + complimentary dessert. Hearty portions. Came all the way from Chicago for this. Not really....visited my grandpa and ended up here. The atmosphere is pleasant. Looks better on the inside than the outside. A bit loud when you walk in but that's because there were so many patrons. We were quickly seated and served. Overall a good experience. I experienced horrible treatment from a general manager today. He was disrespectful and indicated he had limited knowledge of customer service. I like this restaurant a lot. The food is decent and the servers are great. It feels like home and I feel welcomed. I generally stay a while and study for a licensure exam or do some work on the computer. I spend a lot of money and always order a meal. Last week, I was there with 8 family members and spent around $400. Today, I was asked by George Guirgus, general manger, to leave because I had stayed too long. I had eaten breakfast with my mom and a family friend and moved to another table after they left. Mr. Guirgus said I had been there three hours. I had arrived at 12:15 pm and he asked me to leave at 2:18 p.m. When I looked around, the restaurant was half empty. I complied. On my way out, I let Mr Guirgus know that I felt his comments were rude. He disagreed and followed me into the parking lot basically picking a fight with me. When I let him know that he was picking a fight with me. He threatened to call 911 on me. I also made it clear to the customers there how rude Mr. Guirgus was being to a loyal customer. If Mr. Guirgus is management, then he really needs to learn how to build customer appreciation and that if he has a policy about how long customers can stay in the restaurant he needs to post it and enforce it at all times rather than railing a customer and treating him like an interloping non payer of a check. Mr. Guirgus needs to partake in sensitivity training and realize that a loyal customer is much better than an making sure customers leave when the restaurant is half empty. read more

Going to this place was the absolute worst experience ever! They do not know the meaning of "Vegan!" I asked for their veggie skillet but without the cheese. Instead I found a piece of meat in it! Immediately sent it back. However to compensate, they served me a hash brown.. I had to ask for a soda to wash that dry that thing down my throat! 2 of us asked for oatmeal, they were all out! Therefore we asked for grits.. out of that too! They had no choice but to order French Toast as a 3rd choice! 1 of us asked for the Greek salad... how are you going to serve us a Greek salad without the Feta Cheese?! That defeated the whole purpose of ordering it! 1 of asked for the egg burger with the egg sunny side up, instead she was given an egg that seemed to as cooked as hard as a hard boiled egg & then her "Steak Fries" were as cold as old leftover McDonald's fries! And then they tried to still charge me for that veggie skillet I never touched! All 5 of us had a terrible experience there with our food! I will definitely NOT recommend this place! Just stumbled upon this place& LOVED IT!! We had the best waiter named, Shawn who went above and beyond on a busy Sunday to make us happy! Very personable!! It was very much appreciated ! Even if he is a SOX FAN :) The food and atmosphere are both very nice and very charming. Meals are served with a roll and salad or soup. And you even get dessert for a nominal price . Although the food is not the finest in the land, it's not appauling either. I've never gone there for the food personally, but I've gone there frequently because of the love/hate relationship that I have with the place. I should add however that the Lemon Rice Soup is awesome there. If you like burgers, the Double Meat Dagwood Burger is pretty tasty. Like I said it's not excellent food but it's not bad, there's a few tasty things on the menu. It's really more of a place for coffee though for several people in the area, especially for younger patrons. It's a convenient place to sit and chat with old friends when everything else around is closed. I have many memories here, many bad, because of how often I used to be there(I should have been paying rent), but even more good. The staff changes alot, so sometimes the service has been top notch , and other times the staff has been awful. I have to state this about Northwest Indiana and if you have lived here long enough you know it's true "we are a bunch of cheap, miserable complainers who are not easily pleased." Today I had a very terrible experience at the highland location. I called and ordered my food over the phone then went and picked it up. I'm always very specific when placing my order cause I don't want to get home and it be incorrect. Well I got home to find my food was put together without any care and my biscuits were very hard, inedible to say the least, my eggs weren't under my gravy like I asked, and I only had half of a waffle ( when I specifically asked for a full waffle.) All of this was okay, No big deal. I decided to call in and see why I only had half of a waffle and tell them the biscuits were rather over cooked. To my surprise, the man who answered the phone told me if I wanted my order correct then I should've come in and looked at the menu, he also stated that I must have told the waitress the wrong thing because she wouldn't have misunderstood my order? Very odd thing to say when I know what came out of my own mouth. Then he laughed and said "well what do you want to drive all the way back and get the other half of the waffle, I don't have time for this I'm very busy." I've never had such a terrible customer service experience and the lack of care was disgusting. I spend my hard earned money on food and if it's not correct, I'd like something to be done about it or at least an apology? The manager Joann needs to learn customer service. I was here a month ago and my husband ordered a hamburger with Extra pickle. There was no pickles on it at all. After asking for pickle because they didn't put it on then they told us they was out of pickle. The manger had a attitude about it and said did you order it with pickle. We told her yes Extra pickle she says well we are out of pickle. She did nothing to even try to make up for it. I told her he wouldn't have ordered it if we knew they had no pickle. I tried once more to go back and again a bad experience here. Ordered a omelet and wanted fries instead of hashbrowns. I have got them before with no problem. The manger told the server No I couldn't get fries. I told the server ok then I will eat just the soup I got. The bowl of soup didn't even go half way up the spoon. You could see the bottom of the bowl when you dipped the roll in it. Manager Never came to the table to speak to me at all. Then when we cashed out I noticed she charged me almost 6 dollars for a half a bowl of soup. I went back in because this was crazy 6 dollars for a half bowl of soup and I left hungry. With a line of guest behind me she changed he attitude claimed she didnt know about me wanting fries. She was standing there yelling at her team she was told she just didnt care. She gave me money back for the half bowl of soup. This would've we totally different if she just would've came and talked to me. I was told they have a theft problem with the staff. Just because you have a theft problem with your staff doesn't mean you steal from the customers. She lost money with me not ordering my meal that would have been another $16 for her because of not wanting to give me fries and lost two customers because of the rudeness. My only trips to the RTC have been in the 3 to 5 am time frame. Friendly waitresses and for sure if there board they will be telling you about there life problems....food seems to vary a little with who is cooking but its usually pretty good to avg. a good place for odd hours or quick breakfast if you have some time you might look around a little there are better places but there not open at 3 am....I would not shy away from going here just don't expect a surprise 5 star breakfast....is what it is I guess. read more

False advertising and poor service (understaffed), poor management, and poor quality food - they advertise a breakfast special for $4 Mon thru Fri until 11:30 am but won't honor it the day after a holiday - today. That is false advertising. When asked about it the manager he said that was because a lot of people were off work today - I said false advertising today is Monday and the menu says Monday thru Friday.The managers don't ask how your meal was - they don't care. I ordered sausage and got bacon. I ordered eggs 'sunny side up' and got something hard without a yolk. I ordered water to drink and couldn't get a refill.
