I've been going to this chain for about a decade since it was always the go-to for my teenage self and friends. You can never go wrong with their breakfast, it's absolutely everything and anything you could want. They have really added to and changed their menu throughout the years and it's never been better. When you order lunch or dinner you get essentially a three course meal: soup or salad, entree, and dessert! It's amazing. They're lemon rice soup is to die for. At this visit I had a buffalo chicken wrap with waffle fries. You are so stuffed and satisfies you leave thinking about the next time you'll visit. So I guess my family and I were 10 minutes late in ordering our 4 for 4 breakfast meals. Waiter made no mention of this whatsoever as we sat placing our order - just took our order and that was that. He came back and told us that we were passed the time that the deal would be honored and he would need to talk to his manager. Ok, sure, no big deal. This location is a bit out of touch. Parking in the rear of the building is a long distance from entrance. You have to walk around to the front of the building. This week I had the meat lovers skillet. My usual breakfast order from around the clock. The skillet I was served did not have the generous portion I am accustomed to. Good for family w/children as well as large groups of people. It seems to be a great late night food spot for the neighbouring college students at Purdue (Calumet) campus. As you entered...you are greeted by an array of sweet pieful (my invented word) desserts. This is definitely an American diner type of restaurant with that slight Greek feel - because of the Lemon Rice soup which is served with each entree. The soup is creamy and lemony and served with a roll and butter. Rolls are very hot and fresh...just like I love it and how it should be! The VERY BEST thing about this place is that all of their burgers are 50% off daily from 8pm til 6am! The deal just can't be beat when you receive soup or salad as well as a slice of pie with it! My family has been going to Round the Clock for years. Their food is always fine and the service is good. My daughter loves the lemon rice soup. We went there last night after a long day of work, school and shopping, and the food was so much worse than we've come to expect. The rolls are usually soft and fluffy, but these were small and hard. The chicken strips were pale and smelled of old fryer grease. The honey mustard sauce tasted like pineapple. The lemon rice soup tasted like a completely different recipe. My daughter used the restroom and came back with a traumatized expression. The floor was soaked in urine, several toilets were unflushed, and there were sanitary products strewn on the floor. Overall, this was a horrible experience. We've been customers for nearly a decade, and I doubt we'll be back. read more

I purchased the Ocean Perch and was so mad. The salad and soup was great. BUT when my perch came to the top me and my daughter thought it was potato wedges. Which was 5 thin slices of fish on the platter if it was for the fries,salad, soup. And I must say the bread is heaven. I was told by the waitresses it would be 5 pieces of perch just who knew. While waiting for our meals to arrive, my companion noticed water drip from the ceiling onto the table in front of her, where her food would have been. I approached an employee and was told "We've been complaining about that to the owner for a month but they won't do anything about it". They seated us at another table (I know, we should have left). A different waitress asked if we needed menus. I told her we moved and pointed at our previous table. She said, "Oh, did you get dripped on?". Also seeing as though I ordered biscuits and gravy from here about two days ago, I knew what to expect. Nothing too crazy- barely any meat in the gravy. That really pissed me off, but you know what? I love biscuits and gravy so much I was willing to give it another chance. Today I received the most shocking news of 2020, loads of meat in my gravy. OK. I'm going to take this with a sense of humor. We went to Round the Clock here in Highland yesterday for lunch. My meal came with pie, so I told the waitress make it to go. I just decide to have it and opened it up. Well look what I got! It appears to be half a pie with parts from another pie. WTF???? However today, when received my breakfast (Chorizo Skillet) was great as usual, but I was being annoyed by 2 fruit flies, once one of them landed on my food, I was finished with the meal barely eaten. I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not from Indiana which means this review is going to be brutally honest. I'll start with the food. Its edible. You can tell it wasn't made to taste great, it was just made to somewhat please aesthetically. The RTC chain prides itself on its lemon rice soup, this is probably so because its the only edible soup that doesn't taste quite... off. The decor varies by restaurant. Hoosiers have this unusual obsession with the Midwestern "hometown" theme for just about everything. So basically, RTC restaurants have a bunch of rubbish hung up at random spots and its considered "decor". The Schererville branch had some nice Parisian souvenirs though. Now, here's why I love RTC, the service. Many a night, I've stumbled into the restaurant intoxicated and I've struck the best conversations with the wait staff. They are absolutely friendly. Eager to chat with the customers, especially at night, when libations have been poured and dirty laundry is aired. So, what's the verdict? Try it out. arrived just after midnight, place was crowded! Hungry after a long night waiting in the ER and this place was only one open. Got a seat quickly. Lemon Rice Soup arrived after our entree! and was cold! I sent it back, it came back slightly warmer, the bread that came with it had more taste and was hotter that the soup!! My friend ate her soup without sending it back because she was trying to be polite! She said she got sick on it in the wee hours of the morning. Oh, Round the Clock, how I love you! We have been coming to RTC for several years and have never had a bad experience. My kids order the Lemon Rice Soup and love the complimentary, fluffy rolls that they use to dip into the soup. I usually order a sausage and cheese omelet or a taco salad. Both are equally delicious and come in portions that I usually am unable to finish. We go enough that we are greeted at the door by George as if we are being welcomed into his home for dinner. "Thank you for not cooking," is their catch phrase and I'm happy to say, "You're welcome!" quite often! read more

The service is excellent as well as the food. The staff is extremely friendly. I have eaten here two times, once for breakfast and once for lunch. The strawberry waffles are amazing and the orange chicken with rice was decent, but my Mom had the stir fry which was really good and I will order that next time. The food was pretty good. The service was not good. It took her a long time to fill our drinks. When we took our bill up to the register to pay, the cashier told us that she needed to charge us more because the correct hamburger wasn't on the bill. She asked what we all had to eat but at that time our guests had left and we were not sure. She was very rude. After a long discussion over $2 she had the manager come over and he finally said we would only have to pay the bill that was in our hands. Not a good experience at all! read more

Went here for breakfast today. It's as tho someone else owns or runs the restaurant. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy this morning. They slapped 3 biscuits on a plate poured some with liquid on top of it and served it. Come on guys. Cut your biscuits in half. Add some sausage to your gravy. First I have to say, I never had any problems with this place. I used to go there alot. The food was cheap, but so was the price. You got what you were paying for. And the service was always great! Though the staff always seemed to be changing, there were never any problems. I recently, well about a month or two ago, decided that Round the Clock would no longer be the place that I spent my lunch hour everyday. Because I went there everyday, I saw my fair share of...Well, just about everything. But my main concern was the way the employees were being treated. Lets just say, if you want to go somewhere and hear managers making rude and sometimes sexual comments to their staff, employees threatening coworkers that are half their age...then Round the Clock is the place for you. If you want to see your waiter walk out in the middle of their shift (leaving you serverless) or walk up to your table after they've clearly been crying....then round the Clock is the place for you. If you want to see your favorite waiter go because of problems with management...then, again, round the clock is for you. I have to give these people a round of applause for all the crap they put up with. Also, i see why the staff was constantly changing.
