Small lot in the back, you could pass the entrance if you aren't looking hard enough. This is an older outdated restaurant with mostly locals who frequent. Beware you may need reservations - especially on taco night Wednesdays..prime rib tacos are popular at around $3.50 each ala carte. Most of the food on the menu is NOT ala carte - you get a relish tray (beets, beans & cottage cheese) for the table, then a choice of soup or salad (not both), and your entree should come with a potato choice or veggies (pretty darn good veggies!). We had three different entrees: Walleye (special), Blue Gill + Frog Legs (Combo Platter) and the 20oz. Charred Prime Rib - Medium. We also had a few drinks: MGD, Cabernet, and an old-fashioned (I do not recommend the old-fashioned. Weak, too many ice cubes, not traditional). The frog legs were excellent. The blue gill had some bones (to be expected, but otherwise tasty), the Walleye was fresh and excellent. The Prime Rib was just okay. It was cooked well, and although a fairly fatty piece of meat, it lacked some flavor...but was slightly charred. The service was good...wait staff were overwhelmed with multiple tables in the back with one other person helping to clear tables, refill drinks, etc. It's a one and done for me. Not terrible, but also not excellent. BUT - if you are looking for an old school, darker, poorly decorated, cramped seating-style tables/booths - then this is for you! read more

I've read the bad reviews and I can only assume these folks don't know food. Most places in the area have everything from GFS OR US foods. This IS NOT THAT PLACE! Everything we ordered was made from scratch. This filet was the best I've had. I could cut it with a fork. I overheard the manager say it was waygu. At 40 bucks for this level of quality I'm so impressed. This was comparable to the filet Eddie Merlots and it's roughly 40 an ounce there. Do yourself a favor and go. We wanted to like The Town Club! But we can't, based on our Saturday experience. Walked in and we were seated in the farthest corner of the dining room, right next to an exit door. Were we supposed to smile and wave goodbye? Such an odd table placement. I was against the wall and had an unused 2 burner coffee warmer, paper napkins and a stack of to-go boxes less than 3 feet to my right. Service was painfully slow. Our server actually asked us if we wanted the relish dishes which are advertised to be included with dinners. Yes, please. She brought the beets and the cottage cheese but no 3 bean salad. We also had a half order of the cheese squares appetizer and found them unremarkable. The dipping sauce for the cheese tasted just like a pasta sauce straight from a jar. Husband had a strip steak which he said was on the tough side. I ordered combo of lake perch and scallops. Both had cheap breading. Obviously came from a large freezer bag, not breaded on site. The scallops were no bigger than one inch in diameter. Lake perch tasted like fish sticks from a cafeteria. Baked potato was good! Threw away the coupon given with our bill since there is no reason to pay good money to eat there again. read more

Classic supper club hidden in the heart of Highland, IN. Food is always comforting, delicious and the perfect portion. Steaks are cooked on an open flame, so you get a great char taste. Cocktails are always huge, and when the juke box is playing in the bar it feels like I stepped back in time--in the best way. Staff is friendly, and have been around the block. Town Club was our choice for dinner tonight. Seated immediately. Pleasant waitress, Peggy, greeted us shortly after seating. We ordered our drinks and appetizer. We enjoyed the deep fried zucchini. Drinks were great and zucchini hot and delicious. Served with cocktail sauce and ranch dressing. For dinner we enjoyed the Big Bertha, Italian beef with gardinere and fries. Also the perch sandwich and I had the chicken Caesar with home made dressing. We also had the the three sides, green bean salad, cottage cheese and beets. Service was friendly and fast. I spent 80.00 for dinner, the absolute worst food we have had, the only thing good was the potato soup.. Our prime rib was nothing but a tough piece of grizzle laden meat that was cold yet burned all on the outside. I ordered medium rare , I received a cold piece of meat that was not even pink in the middle .. The restaurant was falling apart, literally ceiling tiles falling down, sagging ceiling plywood.....the place was ice cold, Everyone eating kept their coat on it was so cold, I'm a 250 pond guy and I was freezing.. What a dump, The good: Staff was very friendly, our waitress was great, and very attentive.. She did not ask how our food was, because she knew it was crap..She did her job well so we tipped well... We stopped in after not being at this place for a year and were looking for some steak or seafood. Very old school supper club vibe. First of all the service was outstanding. I used to train servers and I can't say enough about how great our server was. Attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and exceeded expectations. The food was decent. My husband hasn't usually like prime rib, but when he saw that they do a charred prime rib, he gave it a try. He really liked it. The clam chowder wasn't the best in my opinion. It wasn't very creamy had a lot of chicken flavor to it, like a LOT. The fried chicken was good and very large portions. It does take about a half hour to cook, and it could have been seasoned better. All in all, it was a decent meal . I give it 4 stars for the service for sure. Everyone was very kind. read more

This is an old fashioned supper club- think wood paneling on the walls and relish trays. The cocktails were strong and good. The orange roughy was some of the best I've ever had, second only to my dad's. The service was great. The owner was sitting at the bar and made us feel like old friends. I've been wanting to try this place for quiet some time. I had a female friend arrived before I did and was seated in back waiting for me. When I walked in, I felt the bartender thought I was coming in to cause harm or something. Just an odd way to greet someone, I am with someone waiting in back, I told him. We both ordered the rib eye and shrimp combo. The clam chowder soup was very good but the rest was sadly mediocre at best. Do we really need pickled beets, cottage cheese and bean salad in 2023 at a fine dining restaurant? Save us the lame condiments and give us a quality steak! My rib eye was thin like a sandwich steak and not medium rare as I ordered. The $4 extra we paid for the sliced mushrooms straight out of a Green Giant can and the onions were barely sauteed properly. The rib eye was edible but that's not saying much. The three (3) shrimp arrived on a cake plate and were tasteless and covered in bland breading. Service was attentive, the waitress was kind and accommodating. The back room was uncomfortably cool with the air conditioner set too low. The place is charming inside but lost me on the quality and caliber of the rib eye steak. read more

Found a hair in our appetizer, the crab cakes looked good but we sent them back. The waitress apologized and she was very nice about it and during our experience. But the best thing about that place is the middle man or whatever title you wanna give him, Michael. He was very nice and attentive, I give him all the praise. You can tell he's a hard worker and is trying his best. I work in the service industry and it's hard to find people like that. Shoutout to Michael, he's a real one! Our water glasses never got more than half way and he always asked us if we needed anything. He needs a raise!! I posted this on their FB page.. They never responded, but they blocked me from their FB page! They can't block me here!!! We've been here quite a few times. When they stuck us in the back twice, the waitress ignored us. But, Friday we were near the front. The waitress was as slow as molasses. Took forever to get our food (mine was lukewarm and barely any fries) She ignored us repeatedly and the owner was rude to us as well. Since our waitress never checked in on us. We asked the owner if we could get the check...Then the owner came by a second time, we asked again about the check. He said "I already told her as he was running away". I guess that isn't his job to take the bill. (We did ask him twice). One positive note... The bus boys were awesome! NEVER GOING BACK! read more

I hadn't been to this restaurant in years and decided to give it try. Bad idea!!! This is the worst restaurant I have been to in years and it has nothing to do with COVID. All the seafood was frozen and dropped in a deep fryer. Side vegetables were straight out of a frozen food bag. Bread arrives at the table straight out of the fridge. Paper napkins , butter in little fast food packages, and dingy decor. All for over 200$. Do not waste your money. Really lousy. I would leave zero stars but the app does not allow it. Also, the gentleman who seated us, whom I believe is the owner made some very negative comments upon seating about people sitting at home and collecting COVID checks! What a jerk! Okay, family owned Restaurant bar that was a nice find. The drunken fun bar at the reminisce of Cheers was great and the food is wonderful. I got the standard house with the garlic as good as frank and Helens. Helen was also the name of my server who went out of her way to make me happy. Drinks were strong, The Reuben was great, corned beef melted in your mouth and being serenaded by bag piping for the halfway to st party's celebration they were having. Highly recommend. read more

Discovered this place during the COVID 19 crisis and the food was excellent. It is downtown quality at NW Indiana prices with NW Indiana panache. The staff is very friendly, the place is very clean and the food was far better than I expected. I have had the ribeye as well as the prime rib- both very well done. I have also had the Julianne Salad, all dressings appear to be homemade and off the charts. The mushrooms on the appetizer menu are also worth having. Very cool, old school place that you can turn to for good food. Went on the day they had their taco special and I must say those were incredible. The best part of the meal, though, was this cheese appetizer that was pretty much a deep fried grilled cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Another typical NWI bar/restaurant, the Town Club makes a nice martini. They have these cute little mini tables you get if you want to eat at the bar. I can't describe them but it is like some guy made them in his garage. I love the bar booths and even though it is smoking, usually opt to eat here. The 'regulars' take up most of the bar stools. The Town Club offers burgers, steaks and seafood. You get soup or salad with entrees as well as relishes of beets, coleslaw and cottage cheese. On my last visit I had the ribs and have to say they were some of the best I've had. They are served dry with the sauce on the side. The fries were served 'burned' as requested. I just went to this place today. The waitress was very nice. We had the homemade clam chowder and it was excellent. I ordered prme rib and though it was cooked medium, it was very chewy. My wife had the ribeye. Hers was overcooked and under seasoned. She also had shrimp as a part of a specisl. She bites into a shrimp and promptly pulls a long hair from around it. We told the waitress who told us that the cook was blond, a different color than the hair. A woman named Karen comes over and says it should have batter on it if it came off the shrimp. Also, she states there is nothing she can do because the owner is not there and is unavailable. After I refuse to pay, she miraculously can take 15 dollars off the bill. I wont be back! read more

Hadn't been here for years, so went in for a lunch date with a friend. Based on their reputation, I ordered the lake perch luncheon. I also ordered an additional cup of French onion soup along with the salad that came with my meal. The salad was great, terrific dressing and nice fresh greens. The onion soup, on the other hand, hadn't seen an onion proper in quite some time. It was a cup of brown broth with 4 very soggy croutons floating in it and what appeared to be a slice of pre-packaged cheese thrown on top of the liquid. The soup was not even warm enough to melt the cheese in any way, shape, or form. The lake perch fillets were of an extraordinary size that made this native to the Great Lakes wonder if they really were lake perch. The coating was unseasoned and blah. Nice fries, though. I think it will be years before I am back here again. read more
