Over the years this place has gone down hill. I ordered a Chicken Parmesan panini with sweet potato fries and it came with soup. It always used to be so good. First off, they usually have the grill lines on the bread like an actual panini. Not this time. The bread was soaked in butter. The chicken on the sandwich was so hard and dry. It was like they cooked the chicken, let it sit out and then cooked it more. It was microwaved to death. It was so bad. Since my sandwich was a bust, I thought the Dutch potato soup would be good. WRONG. Either they mixed the lemon rice soup with Dutch potato or something was bad in this soup. Dutch potato soup should NOT be sour. I have two stars because even though their sweet potato fries are most likely a frozen product, I still enjoy them. read more

You do not see what goes on behind the scenes unless you're sitting at the counter! This place is dirty! Look close and wake up. I'm watching one waitress take her dirty bare hands by grabbing salad to put in serving size bowls just for you. Another sloppy waitress actually licks the back of her four main fingers to open a plastic carry out bag and then with the same hands spreads her germs on computer-like register to punch in an order. YUK! Then help in back and the cooks are sweating bullets over your food and it looks like they all need to learn good grooming and sanitation skills. Another disturbing observation the hired help is allowed to wear political and social justice badges while serving the public. This place sucks! This place is a local diner with a huge menu. They have a great breakfast deal where you pick four items for a total of $4. Every day you can pick a great dinner meal from the specials menu or their normal menu plus each meal includes soup or salad and desert. They are open 24/7. It's also worth mentioning that after 11am they start making fresh rolls and will share them with you as soon as you sit down ;) read more

Victoria the manager was a foul beast to deal with. We didn't get the food we ordered. No refills at all for coffee and ice tea. You get the 1 drink and then you're done. With my husband's breakfast he got grits. And he asked for the grits and they told him he didn't get it with the breakfast. He had a get a menu to show them that it was included with the breakfast and then they finally brought him the grits. Seriously how do they not know their own menu?!?!?! He said the grits weren't even cooked they were crunchy. My husband wanted to substitute crêpes for the pancakes and he was willing to pay up charge. They wouldn't tell him what the charge was, like it was some state secret. He said to forget it he didn't want the crêpes, he just wanted the bill so we could leave. Not only did the bill not come, they brought a full order of crêpes out and charged us for a third breakfast lolol when I attempted to talk to Victoria she told us she really didn't care that we were unhappy with things. She literally said that to us. So I asked for the owners name and contact information she refused to write down the person's name or contact information. If that was my business I would want to know if I had a dragon lady running things and turning customers away. So I hope the owner sees all these reviews and reaches out. I remember this place being better. The waitress was friendly and the manager walked the restaurant and visited tables. Otherwise a solid one star. I was seated at a dirty table but didn't realize it at first or I would have asked for a different one. The coffee was terrible. Three creamers and five sugars later it still tasted like arsenic. When I unrolled my silverware both were dirty greasy with food bits on the fork. (I used a plastic spoon I forgot I keep on hand in case my to go coffee isn't stirred). Unfortunately the picture doesn't lie. The cheese for my skillet was two Kraft singles laid on top of it with a mound of tasteless scrambled eggs next to it. The potatoes were so burned they were inedible. And I like em slightly crispy. SLIGHTLY. Not roof shingle backups. The amazing Round the Clock restaurant staff, from the seating service to the amazing, friendly, and quick service with a smile, cooking crew, clearing, and cleaning staff, is absolutely 10 stars. I visited Chicago and ate at the Round the Clock in Highland, Indiana 4 out of the 10 days. We had a 1 girlfriend day breakfast, 1 liver & onion lunch with extra special girlfriend, dinner with my significant special person on a Saturday, and family breakfast for 10 at 9 am. I ordered the Chicken Fingers meal with lemon rice soup, French Fries, and onion rings. The lemon rice soup was alright. I would have preferred if it was thicker and more rice in it. Even a little more lemon taste would have been great. The rolls were either not fresh or over baked. The chicken fingers came out by themselves and my sides were not ready at the same time. The French Fries were just okay. They didn't have too much flavor or seasoning. The onion rings were pretty good. Overall, the meal was alright. A tiny bit off the main drag, worth the trip! Omelets & skillets are $4 for a while, duringcertain days & times- over 50% savings. Service is great, not annoying. This small town has a 5 star airbnb, follow it up with breakfast here (on a weekday to get the special) and there's a recipe for world class accomodations, not too far from huge city life! read more

Food is mediocre standard. The staff that work there are extremely rude and impatient. The bread rolls are usually soft and warm, but it is a hit and miss, on set days the food tastes awful and bland. I did not enjoy my time there and I truly believe that they must retrain some of their workers. It was an absolute shambles. 6 am breakfast for 5 bucks is not bad and plenty of choices on their $4 menu. That is a plus. But downside is waiting for a super long time before you leave waitress comes. I was seriously about to pick up and leave. She finally did come and was ver pleasant. But the food was lackluster. Biscuits were cold, heavy, and the gravy was peppery but thin and watery and barely enough to go with all the biscuit. The worst was how loud the place was. They are blaring rock music super loud at 6 am. Sorry don't need that. There also seems to be a requirement for patrons to pound on their tables and shout across the room. Yes granted this place attracts hungover drunk people. Always has since my high screwl days. But I'm older now and don't need any of that. Im sure the staff isn't about to tangle with belligerent foul mouthed drunks. A nice quiet meal next time at Top Notch will be my pick. read more

Came here with my boyfriend on Saturday @12. The young lady at the Front desk was super nice and respectful like always, she seated us while we waited for the waitress to come take our drink orders, gave us our drinks with no straws, took a long time before she came back to take our food orders meanwhile other customers seated were making complaints about their food orders being wrong, she came and took our order (dinner salad & hashbrowns)he got (chicken and waffles with whipped cream and powdered sugar). Waited for a good minute before she came and checked on us, front desk lady sat a group of 6 down, they ordered water and did not receive so the group of 6 got up and left (didn't even get a chance to order there food). My salad came it was okay ranch was watery. She brought out the Hash browns and they tasted like they were reheated & soggy I couldn't even eat them. His food finally came out, as she set his food down she set the check down on the table, which my boyfriend thought that was extremely rude since we were looking to get some pies too after we ate our food :( , she took another groups orders before she came and brought the syrup out to us for his waffles. Had dinner there on Thursday night. Went to pay the bill, told the girl to round the tip up so that I had a even bill of 30 Dollars. When I checked my account the next day she changed the tip. I've eaten here quite a bit in my lifetime so the star is based on good memories. Tonight this was a mess. It's Friday night, late and there are some loud people in here. Grown women right behind us playing crappy music from their phone. "Oh my gosh that's my jam!" I get it, it's late and they are coming from the bar or something. They are singing in their booth the same song. Over and over again. I ordered the Lemon rice soup and I normally really like that. It was so salty I just couldn't even. It was bad. It hurts me to say that. The waitress took it back. I got potato soup instead. Much better. I ordered the Italian beef which they didn't have they said... So they gave me a philly with no pepper or cheese. Isn't that an Italian beef?!?! It was blah. Barely any meat at all. I paid way too much for this. It was fatty and crummy, sort of a half beef with full roll... I actually did cut it in half to put the rubber beef on one side. My hubby got biscuits and sausage gravy, but there was no sausage in the gravy. It was terrible. The gravy was what you would put on mashed potatoes and congealed. 3 full size biscuits not cut in half and not enough gravy. My hubby is a garbage disposal and he had one bite and was upset. The waitress got him something else. It was hash browns with American cheese slices on top of sausage with eggs. Looked gross but the hubby said it was much better. It was a bad night. At least the waitress was nice. It wasn't her fault the food sucked and the patrons were idiots. We passed on dessert, we were so upset. Came here from out of state because the outside looks very neat! Thats the only thing neat about it. The only thing nice about this place was our server, Colleen. The food was terrible. No taste. There was a group of 4 of us and no one liked their meal. The place is also pretty dirty, they definitely don't vacuum their rugs. Ever. They also garnish their mashed potatoes with celery. Yep, raw celery with the pot roast. Like why? Why are there celery stalks shooting from my potatoes? Who's idea was that? They need to be let go. If you've read this far, don't go to the place. Absolute worst dining experience i've ever had. This is the same opinion from the 8 other people who ate with me as well. We had it at around 10:30, we started off with bread that was extremely dry and hard. The drinks were also 70% ice. Most of us ordered combo meals with all different items to sample. Every single item was horrendous. The potatoes tasted like they were recycled about 3 times, finally dumped in the trash as our order came in, then they decided to scoop it back out of the trash and serve it with zero seasoning, cold and dry as Ben Shapiros wife. I'm dead serious. The eggs were supposed to be "over-medium", they were beyond over-easy. There was slimy white oozing from the egg. It tasted awful. It had literal bits of Egg Shells in them. The sausage links resembled Beef Jerkey with zero taste. The ham was bad. The soup tasted like water, the chicken tenders were dry and had no flavor. The pancakes varied from Excessively large to painfully small. They also tasted terrible. My friend and I ordered the exact same dish but his pancakes were twice the size. The hash brown potatoes had ZERO flavor. Now finally, the waitress. She was so rude and clearly had a dislike for me specifically for making a light hearted joke. To top it all off, as i'm writing this review, my friend has exited the toilet after being in there for 40 minutes. He had food poisoning and severe stomach pains. The toilet probably looked like almost every dish you'd order at Round The Clock. The only enjoyable part of this place was the 30% of Dr Pepper I drank under all the ice. I was craving fried chicken, and it appeared from my extensive research on Yelp that restaurants in this area only serve chicken "tenders" until I found this joint. A very reasonable meal: 1/2 chicken, breaded tastefully and fried greaselessly; soup or salad; two sides and a dessert--all for $10.99. No alcohol on the menu. My sides were a whole baked sweet potato (nicely done) and bad cole slaw (it was too runny, was made with oversized cabbage pieces and had a weird violet hue). Decor was typical chain restaurant American farm implement motif--not badly done but lacking the soul of America. Room temperature was too cold for me. I don't mean to come off like a complainer. (Yeah, sorry I grabbed the ONLY bag you handed me...my bad.)The manager cut me off mid sentence and said "yeah half the order was in back, it will be up front for you" No sorry, no 'our mistake', nothing. I drive back to go and some uneducated boy stops them and tells them "this order has already been picked up" Correction, HALF of it has been picked up. One great place to get your grub on! Anytime of the day, this restaurant has great breakfast, lunch and dinners! We have been coming here for over 10 years and not once we had a bad experience. The service is always great. They have great pancakes and skillets for breakfast. For lunch, I have to say the dinner rolls are homemade and are out of this world. The restaurant has plenty of parking in the front and in the back. By the way, they also have great pies! A slice is part of their dinners. I truly enjoy this restaurant.
