I have been here plenty of times and love it!! Legit love it It has been my fave place to dance. BUT. If there was a ZERO star experience for the night I experienced I would give it. I went to a few bars prior and had no issue. I don't want to be that that bitch, but I went into this bar and the 'bouncer' looked at my ID in my hand and then snatched it out from me. I gave a look yes, because snatching it rude. He proceeded to asked 'why do you have an attitude?' I said 'excuse me?' He looked me up and down and this sad excuse of an employee had the legit nerve to respond 'I'm looking at your ID, you don't have to be a dick'. I was shook, upset and offended. He was a straight asshole. I'll go back. But if this employee is there I want the manager to see this. He was rude. For no reason, and he cost your business money I wan planning on spending there. Which probably isn't much compared to a whole night of business but he was really really offensive. IDK if he was having a bad night, but that is NO excuse to take it out on a customer. Literally your very first employee I see is out here calling me a dick? WTF, because I gave him a look for being unprofessional? Wack AF. And I really mean WACK AF! WACK AF!!!!!!! read more

Literally one of the worst experiences I've ever had! The entire staff was very rude and very racist! My friends and I were treated so poorly for no reason! We went on a Sunday night so it was pretty empty aside from us. One of the many encounters that rubbed me the wrong way was when I was singled out for having a drink on the dance floor. I wasn't the only one with a drink but I was the only one approached and from then our night was an uncomfortable downward spiral of racial profiling. I don't recommend this establishment at all. If you are black and you decide to go be sure to go with good friends and when you experience the racism keep a level head. Be smart not emotional! read more

Used to be five stars but they have changed so much. I embrace change when and where needed and this place is no longer a country bar. Jeff Doll is the best DJ this place has had in a long time. The DJ tonight does not belong there unless they are going to transition from playing country music all together. There is no other gay bar where you can dance like this. Country music and pop music arranged in a country style played by dj attracted attention of many gay dancers. I like most the part when men started to dance together as a show. Drinks are good, nothing special but my experience was so bad at the beginning of my visit in Dallas then now a normal drink is nice. Round-Up Saloon is a great gay bar in the Cedar Springs district of Dallas. It is one of my favorites. They have a variety for everyone. It is technically a country/western dance bar, but they also offer karaoke, pool, occasional live entertainment, a rooftop patio with the uptown skyline behind, and a cigar/cigarette patio with an outoodr bar. The place is known for hosting several charity events, which help the city of Dallas and the LGBT community. The bar just celebrated 35 years, so it's not going anywhere---plus, the people love it! He felt that he deserVed a larger tip than what I gave him, refused future service to me and then threatened to have me kicked out by security because I was drinking with my friends by his station (it was an empty location that everybody uses to drink at) He kept yelling at me until I left. OMG! I missed the line dancing since I only got here after midnight but this place was nuts! People are sooo nice and friendly, the drinks are so cheap, the bartenders at all shirtless and pretty and it was packed!!! And all the guys a pretty damn cute, gotta love those cute faces and the plaid shirts and the tight jeans. The music is all country before midnight and afterwards it is all pop/rock etc. and may I say, the music was fab!!! The dance floor is huge and they have a no drinks and cigarettes policy on it, so it is not sticky and gross. Genius, eh? I am so coming back here whenever that will be. I want to keep this short and simple. I'm a transgender who went into the males bathroom because I felt comfortable in doing so. I'm from South Louisiana and my two cousin are very new to my transition from a female to a male. I was humiliated by one of the staff members when they opened the stall on me and told me to leave because I was a "female." I tried to explain my situation but he refused to listen. My cousins, of course attempted to stand up for me but failed miserably as I was escorted out. I've never felt so low and embarrassed before in my life. I'm so saddened that this kind of act would happen in a community that I thought would support me. I honestly can't put into words how much pain that guy put me through in front of my family. read more

Dylan is an AWESOME bartender......Harold? NOT so much! I went on 8/21/2013 had a decent time chatting a bit with Dylan. He's a great bartender. Fast forward to tonight, 8/23/2013, and was dealing with Harold as a primary bartender after being introduced by another customer. Well, I was standing against a wall, MINDING my own business when something is thrown from across the room (no less than 30 feet away) and hits me in the leg....Harold and some other customer are there pointing and laughing. I stay where I'm at, waiting for someone to come up and explain themselves, nobody did. I just left. I have NO idea what they threw, and honestly I DON'T CARE! It was RUDE and VERY disrespectful! I am here in Dallas on business, not choosing to be, but figured I'd "make the most of it." Well, I can't wait to get the hell out of this city! They gays here simply....well....SUCK! read more

Even though I do love this place and have been coming here for years, gotta say some of the bartenders are thieves. I'm sure I'm not the only person this has happened to, but went a few weeks ago and started a bar tab like any other visit. I had cash on me but started a tab so I could just tip once instead of after every drink. So as I'm ready to leave, I pay my tab with cash, get my card back and head out. A few days later I noticed several charges from Round Up for various amounts and ended up being charged almost $100 on my card. When the bar sent me a copy of their receipt it showed the bartender Paul D. had not only ran up my card (even though I paid in cash) but also gave himself an additional tip and then squiggled some sort of a signature. I kept getting the run around from the bar on the issue so just filed it as fraud with my bank. Luckily I had the cash receipt as proof. While this may have been an isolated incident with this one bartender, be careful if you start a tab and pay cash. Make sure you get a receipt because this definitely happens at this bar. read more

The bartenders over pour, then badger the patrons for tips. Used to be a nice place to go, but seems that now the staff could care less about their patrons. They act as if they welcome everyone, however I happen to know that is only on the outside. I for one will never darken that door again. read more

Great place to socialize with friends. Roger is the best DJ in the country, and Shane the manager is always friendly. Drink prices are good, and I recommend Joe to serve you. Some of the bar backs and door personnel need to learn how to relax and not act like you own the bar! I have heard and witnessed several of the Door personnel be rude to patrons. I will NEVER go there again. Tonight I tried getting in with my boyfriend and his two male cousins. The guys were in front and were not ID'd so obviously I just kept walking in with them. I got my arm RIPPED BACK by the bouncer and was told I needed to show ID. I personally don't care about having to find my license (although it did take me a minute) it was the fact that the bouncer so violently grabbed me. I do NOT appreciate that and I did let him know it hurt and I did not appreciate being ID'd being the ONLY female with the group. He then got up in my face told me he didnt like that I got in his face ad said "GOODBYE HUNNY you can leave" and then preceded to tell me he was calling the police if I didn't leave. The guys tried talking to him and so did I, but of course he would not have it. We weren't drunk or loud and rude we were just trying to talk to him calmly but he was "body pushing" me out.. I will NEVER go there again. If you expect fair treatment in a straight bar I expect the same in a gay bar. I was so embarrassed and appalled by the bouncers behavior. If you are a straight female trying to get in here it's not even worth your time, find another bar. read more

The Roundup is hands down the best bar/club on the strip. Even if you're not into country music, this place is a guaranteed good time, with a friendly, inviting atmosphere. Not to mention, you will run across gorgeous men in hats and beautiful boots, and that makes my personal gayness explode with utter, pure delight and joy. :-) read more

No other bar like this around--seriously! Great time, but it does get crowded so come with a positive attitude and ready to hit the dance floor. It's country music before midnight and then dance/top 40 music throughout. Please stick around long enough to catch the line dances. I had the worst experience for karaoke on a Tuesday night. This is my first time at your establishment and I was told that the karaoke was great here. Unfortunately, I came in and sat for 2 and half hours to have my name deleted by the karaoke host. I was never called. I had three individuals who were waiting for me in the rotation. I was told that I was going to go up prior to the establishment closing and this was not done. I waited and when I went up to the host Tuesday night on 13-Jun-2018 she lied and said that she called me and took me out of rotation while she was obviously intoxicated. I feel cheated because I stayed in your facility for 2+ hours waiting to sing for karaoke while purchasing drinks for myself and my friends. I am upset with how this was handled and as a frequent karaoke participant and host this was not handled in the best way. I honestly would not have invested money in the place if I had known if I was not going to be able to sing. This is bad business and I will not invest my money into your establishment ever again due to this situation. read more

Walked in and Preston the dj on Mondays seemed cool. I asked how long it would be to sing and he said about 30 minutes. Okay I thought. Then after 50 minutes I asked again and he said oh you're coming up. I then asked how the system worked at this place because I was from San Diego and noticed that the same people were singing multiple times before I was able to sing once. He never answered my question and kind of skirted around the question. I walked out to the dance floor to get away from all the screeching and 8 minute songs that seemed to be playing and walked in about 15 minutes later. I sat down at the bar and overheard him talking about me to another girl that was there to sing. I confronted him and said maybe you should be more aware of his surroundings before you talk shit. He again kind of ran back to his stage and then called me up to sing. Preston- you suck as a dj. You need to learn a rotation. You sing every damn 4 songs and you're not that great. You and your opera friends need to really pick some cool stuff and not bore people. For anyone looking for a karaoke spot with a decent rotation where they don't play favorites and a good sound system, head to sue Ellen's down the street. Much better system! read more
