Staff here is nice and even though there was an issue with the bathroom, I didn't feel this was on the staff. There was another review about the bathroom- so I am starting to wonder if one of their regular customers is having issues lol. There aren't as many machines as the other locations I have been to. (Dale City, Lancaster, Exton, Philly), but I think it's an appropriate number for this venue. I do feel like it might be a bit harder to win things here than at the other Round 1s but I am not sure. Round1 is akin to the likes of Dave & Busters, with busy arcade games, claw machines, and a small bowling section. Food is served and hours can pass if there is no other plans to be had on any day. For celebrations, fill in time, or just because, Round1 is entertainment. I have been to this location a few times now and my recent visit was a bit better from the last. While most machines were operational, with a few claw ones in need of replenishment, I don't know if such as the ratio of staff to cover per customer is a factor in these establishments. When one person is covering the food bar and the main register, issues are inevitable. While not everyone may require an attendant for assistance, I can understand how frustrating it can be to wait for help to retrieve a prize in a claw machine, when the same person is manning the register, and pulling pizzas and wings in the kitchen. This place is suppose to serve Japanese snacks, however only one or two options based on the menu board were offered last visit beyond the burgers, pizza, fries, and wings. No ramen. Staffing remains to be a challenge. I was impressed to see the man cleaning tables is always spot on and very quick. Access here is also weird, the direct main entrance from the mall is blocked each time I've visited. Alternative way to get in/out is past the restaurants and down the escalator (Fairmount Ave and Towson Gate Drive entrance side). This Round One is a complete nightmare. Ruined my best friend's birthday. We drove over an hour only to be kicked out of the Round One with no explanation. No announcements. No warning. Just screamed at by a security guard to leave like we had committed some crime. Another patron suggested short staffing, but that doesn't excuse the lack of communication, especially when people have traveled far and paid for credits. What makes this worse is that this is the second time this location has ruined a birthday for us. Years ago, my sister's birthday was cut short when games were shut off without warning, lights were turned off mid-play, and her credits became useless. We were told the arcade was closing at 10:45... at 10:43. Again, no announcements. On top of that, many machines are often offline or not reset, employees are difficult to find when you need help, and the prices do not match the quality of the experience. If this location cannot reliably stay open during its posted hours, it should not be advertising itself as a late-night arcade. At this point, it's a pattern, not a fluke. I would not recommend this Round One for birthdays, special occasions, or anyone traveling a long distance expecting a full night of games. 0/10. I told my friends I wasn't too keen on going here because of our first two bad experiences but decided to give it another chance. BIG MISTAKE. read more

I have been here quite a few times and I'm going to start with the good: they have a good selection of game options and the prices for The games and cards aren't bad. They also have other activities such as bowling, pool, and private karaoke rooms you can rent. Now for my constructive criticism: the service is very slow. I don't know if they just aren't properly staffed but if you need something you are generally waiting for awhile because the staff are handling multiple responsibilities. I saw the same staff member putting on gloves for food then taking them off to go handle Something on the floor then coming back again. Also speaking of the food they never have the full menu that is displayed. Sunday they were out of fries and they didn't have ice for the sodas. Last time I came they had run out of something else. I see they expanded their menu but I'm concerned about the new menus if they can't keep up with the fries and ice. All in all the kids have fun whenever we go. And I also noticed it looks like the bar is open now. Still a growing place and I would visit again. read more

Okay, so in terms of quality of the place and people working/service, this place was really bad. It was surprising when we first walked in, just HOW many people were working there/standing behind the front counter. I assumed and still assume that it was simply another shift starting. With that said, the first thing I did was go to the bathroom and it was honestly one of the most DISGUSTING bathrooms I've seen in Maryland. NO toilet paper...well, I take that back, it was all over the place except for the actual roll. It smelled and it was clear no one had kept it up. And here's my issue, I get that maybe a new shift is starting, but shouldn't the last shift cleaned up near the end? Or shouldn't that be one of the first things you address?? I can get over that, but in literally every other aspect of our experience people were lazy, slow and careless. It took something like 10/15 minutes for anyone to show up when we were trying to check out and even then they were careless and clearly unaware of the details they were supposed to explain to us. First let me preface this with I took a group of special need HS kids here. There was also another school with special needs HS students there. You can book a school package which is different then what they have posted on their website. My colleague called in advance to verify cost and tried to make a reservation. She was told that we would have to pay a 50% deposit to do so online or we could bring $100 in 3 days prior. Well, we opted for the $100 option. I took the deposit in a week prior. The young lady who takes reservations first said we had paid in full. I told her she must be mistaken and when she showed the reservation it was another HS. She then proceeded to tell me that there was no availability for the time I wanted which was 10, 11 or 11:30am. She said they're just opening at 10 and need time to set up. Excuse me, but if you open at 10 you should be able to accommodate parties at that time by having staff prepare before closing or coming in before 10, just my thoughts. 11am the other school was going to be there and she said she couldn't do anything before 12pm. Since both schools had a bowling and arcade package I asked how many lanes they had and how many was the other school using? They were only using about 4 -5 lanes which left plenty of space for my school. Her reply was they need to have those lanes open in case the other lanes break down. Say what now! Finally, I asked if we could be included with the other school because unbeknownst to her, I knew the teacher at the other school called her and explained the situation. She was more then happy to help. Ironically enough, they were being charged $29/student because no one told them they have special school pricing that isn't posted. Shame on you Round 1 smh. Anyway, after 20-30 minutes I left with money still in hand. My colleague then calls and does a 3 way with the same person I spoke to and the reservationist said she was going to set me up for 11:30 but I left. Is she crazy!?! She shot down everything I said and her manager confirmed what she was saying. Make it make sense. At this point she said I could go online and select the $29 package and she would manually change it. It's 2024, why in the Sam Hill don't they have school pricing on their website? This was such and inconvenience of gas, and time. Anyway, on the day of our visit we were 10 minutes early and she said we had to wait. I asked "can't I at least pay for it? "She then said yes. For whatever reason making payment to took longer then 10 minutes. She then asked for shoe sizes. I asked since everyone had on sneakers could they keep them on instead of the bowling shoes because that was going to take a while and they start your party time whether you are on the lane or not. We had an hour of bowling and then an hour of arcade time. The shoe question seemed to boggle her brain and she asked her manager who instructed her to have me sign a liability form that had absolutely nothing to do with them wearing their own shoes. I signed and we were escorted to our lanes. Once set up on the lanes, our lane #5 immediately malfunctioned and I had to find someone to help. They didn't do a good job fixing it and soon as the tech came back we had the same problem with the lane not resetting or clearing the pins before they could even roll the ball. They went back to fix this, but 15 minutes of the kids bowl time was taken from them because of this. On a high note the pizza and sodas did come out in a timely manner. FYI our package included 2 slices of pizza, unlimited drinks, 1 hour of bowling, 1 hour of arcade time and a group picture. Btw, we never got a group picture. Also, the arcade cards can only be used on the red and green light games and are timed. If you don't use your hour you will not be able to come back on another visit and use them. So, I give you all of this great detail to say they may be fine for you to just take your family, but beware for large groups especially if you're a school. They need to adopt a Chick- fil- A model for customer service because they're not there yet. Some training is definity need to include management. I don't think they have to worry about me bringing my students back and I will definitely spread the word to other schools that I'm familiar with to take their business elsewhere. SN: 2 of my kids have dietary restrictions, but paid the full price. I asked if they could have fries instead. I was told no by the manager because the pizza has already been inventoried. Went tonight, on a friday night for my girlfriends birthday hoping to get some drinks for her and go bowling and do the arcade. When we got there at 530pm ish there was no bartender, we waited for 20 minutes with employees who even looked over at us and noticed us waiting and no one let us even know there was no bartender or anything. We waited for awhile. There was also a big group of people next to us too that were waiting to order drinks as well and were not happy and ended up leaving after waiting so long. Being On a Friday night especially, & with no bartender, being ignored but seen and not being told anything was horrible customer service. Will not be coming back. Went here for the first time Saturday to help celebrate my god-daughter's completion of elementary school. Round1 is pretty much like D&B and/or Main Event, but a bit less pricey in my opinion. It was earlier in the day (around noon), so it wasn't as busy as I've seen it be. While she played the games, the adults had a bit of bowling fun. That was a good time, but please know that you will end up sharing seating space during the busy hours. It's 2 lanes per seating area(split in half). The staff was nice as well. We also ordered pizza(pepperoni) with both cajun she regular fries. The cajun fries came in a bag with a little container of the cajun seasoning. Just add it to the bag, give it a shake, and enjoy! I thought that was pretty cool lol. I'd definitely go again to enjoy the arcade games, bowling, pool tables, bar and karaoke. Give it a try and see how you like it if you haven't been. read more

Not a Towson night life person. Don't like the college town vibe, don't like drunk people, overall I just avoid it. Sometimes that can get boring. We found Round 1 and it definitely livened up our quieter weekends. We still avoid it after Noon at all costs. It starts to get really busy, overrun with kiddos, and just not our style. If you want some early couple time on a weekend or weekday, this is a good break from the norm. We do a lot, travel often, but this was super fun to go to! We've been multiple weekends when we wanted something not taxing to do! They've got all the games from our 80's& 90's childhoods. Worth the visit! read more

Me and my friends were so excited to go to round one to celebrate my birthday. We got there around 9 PM on a Sunday and we're told that there was going to be a wait, which was fine. We then proceeded to walk over to the food court and put food in after I finish, placing my order my friends who were standing behind me, walked up to the counter to order their food, and we were told that the kitchen was closing, which was kind of crazy because I had just placed my order so then after being told that they will not be able to eat we still continue to wait an hour and a half for our lanes. After an hour and a half had passed, we walked up to the front to ask them how much longer the weight might be. We then realized that they had given our lanes to somebody else who had came in a significantly long time after we did so then they told us that we would have to wait about 10 to 15 more minutes which we did and then after we walked back up and asked if our lanes were ready at this point it was pushing 11:00 PM and most of my friends were ready to go therefore when she said that she could give us one lane out of the two that we asked for I turned to ask if anyone was still interested in playing when doing this I was then cut off by the worker who stated " so are you guys going to bowl or not because we are trying to close and we don't wanna just stand here" which I thought was completely out of place considering that we had waited over an hour and a half for two lanes just to have our lanes given again to someone else because of their social status. I 100% would not recommend this place to anybody save your time and save your money. The service sucks and it's overpriced. What a waste of a birthday celebration and a Sunday night. This is also not the first time I've had a bad experience at this place , I just thought that after years had passed things may have gotten better and I clearly fooled no one but myself. 0/10 stars from me.. read more

Good for bowling. They don't offer water other than Dasani . Wont give you ice water or just ice cups even after purchasing food. $10 for an ice tap water pitcher. Alcoholic beverages are pretty cheap though. $4 beer and $9 margaritas. Not very strong but you get what you pay for. Overall, would recommend for bowling and arcade. So to start. I hate a bad review, but there's really no way around it at this point. I think structurally it would help for a some customer service training for the front staff. Just a general hello and eagerness to greet patrons I think would really turn things around to start. Once we were noticed and assisted the payment process was pretty effortless. We were assigned a lane and things were going well (I was in a strong lead). However on the 6th frame of bowling the lane just quit working. The lights turned off, so we requested assistance. About 10 minutes later someone came out and told us they needed to fix the issue from the back. That got us up and running. Then on the 8th frame the balls stopped returning in our lane and the lane next to us. We pushed the service request button again and about 10 minutes later someone came out and got the balls unjammed from the back then left. We noticed though we could not see the balls spinning in the back anymore, but they were now stuck in the machine that spits them out. We then pressed the service button again and someone had to come out to open the machine. This process was another 10 minutes (we paid for 90 mins of bowling so time at this point kind of feels like an issue). They got us our balls and unfortunately on the 10th frame they got stuck in the machine again. So we asked for a refund at this point. All the other lanes were full and with an hour of our game gone and an uncompleted first game, we were just feeling kind of out a bowling spirits. They did offer a voucher for a return visit, so I will update this when we do. Positive note. I broke 100 on my bowling score, there are a ton of arcade games that are amazing, there are billiards and karaoke room. Fingers crossed for our next adventure. read more

All the games were really fun! All of us had a great time there! We went on a busy Saturday afternoon so you can imagine the line when the self-service machines did not work. BUT! Even with understaffing issues and some broken machines, Dice has saved the day! He was able to sort out the broken ping pong machine very quickly when the machine kept screaming error! That was not the only thing he did! When we were playing the basketball shooting game, my diamond ring flew off with the friction of the basketball and it fell down through the crack then rolled to the ground. He was able to go around the machine then found the ring! I was so flabbergasted! Before I could say anything he just left like it was just a regular task he did instead of finding someone's diamond ring back! So shout out to Dice! Several games were broken, UFO catchers weren't set up or empty, ticket redemption machines for collectable cards were broken, and they offer no bonus plays for multiple swiping of coin pushers games. The karaoke rooms were unavailable for the 3rd time in a row coming there. Redemption prices for prizes were the highest I've ever seen for comparable items at other entertainment centers. A friend odered food to be told there was no more food at all. But then the clerk laughed at him and said he was joking. Not funny. Half the machines are down including popular games like Street Fighter V and pinball since grand opening which was in early December. I've tried speaking to a manager twice and literally sat at customer service for over 15 minutes waiting until I gave up. The one time I talked to a worker on the floor about it, they were extremely dismissive and rude to me. Prices are also higher than other Round1's that I have visited, including an extra charge on refills for drinks. The claw machine windows are disgusting, cmon it take like 10 minutes to go around with some Windex to clean the nasty hand prints all over the glass. Also no bar, it's been mentioned to me multiple times that "it'll be open by mid-January" and it's near mid-February and it's collecting dust. This is by far the worst Round1 I've ever been to and employees all effectively don't give a damn about the place. read more

We came here specifically for the Japanese karaoke and Japanese rhythm games. Although one very nice staff gentleman spent a long time trying to figure it out, we found out that the karaoke doesn't let you play Japanese songs. If you input the number of a Japanese song manually it says not found. The karaoke machine would also not work with the app they instruct you to use to select songs. Then the rhythm games had 0-4 songs under the anime and vocaloid categories. When Round1 comes to anime conventions the same machines they bring have hundreds of anime and vocaloid songs so we were very disappointed. The other games were about on par for what's available in Dave and Busters in White Marsh. read more

Excited that there was a Round1 closer by in the area! It is located in the Towson Town Center mall, closeby to Baltimore. It was about an hour drive from Montgomery County, but definitely worth the trip since it is connected to the mall and Round1 has a lot to offer. Think of Dave and Busters, plus more! I went on the first day of the grand opening, they organized a system for new members to sign up for cards at the service desk, the line took about 15-20 minutes, so would definitely recommend going to purchase a card first when you get in if it's busy! You will need it to play the games if you don't already have one. They have designated kiosks to purchase and refill cards, but the option to purchase cards were not available on the kiosk the first day. I picked the option for $50 for just the game card which came out to about $57 with tip and the $2 fee for the card. They have a plethora of Japanese crane games with lots of cute stuffed animals, traditional American arcade games, air hockey, and Japanese arcade games as well such as dance rush stardom which is a popular dancing game. There's also karaoke and bowling, but did not get the chance to check that out. They have many employees on the floor who are willing to help out which is nice to see. Some of the crane games (dropping ping pong ball into muffin tin) if you win, you will have to get an attendant to open the case to get the prize for you. I would definitely come back again, but designate more time to spend there to check out more of their offers and features! read more

The bartender was no where to be found so we had to keep getting wine coolers for one and two, the manager came at me so aggressive when she saw me drinking the wine cooler and didn't say anything to all of my white friends that also had liquor. Me and someone both had a cooler and she only approached me telling me to throw it out and hurry up. She ended up apologizing when she realized I bought it from them and it wasn't outside liquor but she never asked me any questions just came at me really aggressive. I felt like I was racially profiled to be honest. Service was horrible. Initially there was a bartender who refused to sell us more than one pitcher because "we didn't need it". Then later there was no bartender in sight and we had to plead with another staff member to try and get them to come back to the bar. The people who give you arcade cards "don't know" how to work the bowling purchases, so we had to wait for 15-20 minutes to even buy a lane. The lane was broken and kept knocking over pins by itself. Later on, the same bartender was on FaceTime with one of her friends behind the bar, and when we asked for a drink she said she'd find someone to get us one and then went straight to the bathroom, no one arrived and we had to find another staff member to find a bartender and waited another 10-15 minutes for them to arrive. They were much better than the first one though. Later on we started playing arcade games and one was broken, when we brought this to the staffs attention he acted like he didn't believe us and told us to take him to the game. We did and I showed him how it was broken and he said "you have to hold the buttons down" which I was. Then I told him to try and he realized it was actually broken, gave us some random amount of credits back and finally a nice employee corrected him and gave us a prize from the machine. First guy was a total dick. Way more expensive than any other bowling place, and by far the worst staff I have ever had an experience with. Cannot imagine how incompetent the management is. I recently had the pleasure of hosting a birthday party for my son at Round1 Bowling & Amusement, and I can't express enough how fantastic the experience was from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and party host, Tarisha. She took the time to show me around the various party rooms, patiently explained the available packages, and answered all of my questions with a genuine enthusiasm that made me feel welcomed and valued. The party itself was held on a Saturday morning, August 12th, at 11 am. As I walked in, it was evident that the entire Round1 crew was hard at work preparing for the day's festivities. Bathrooms were being meticulously cleaned, food was being prepared, and the atmosphere buzzed with a sense of anticipation and excitement. I had a cart full of decorations and found myself needing assistance, and that's when I had the pleasure of meeting the manager, David. David's recognizing that his staff was immersed in their opening duties, he took it upon himself to dive right in. With sleeves rolled up, he assisted me in cleaning, setting up, and making sure I had everything I needed for the event. His hands-on approach and dedication to exceptional service left me truly impressed. The room was so nice, comfortable and clean. We were in Party Room #1 right by the lanes. What truly stood out to me was there was something for everyone. My son's 3rd birthday party centered around his newfound interest in bowling, but Round1 had something to for every age group, we had 3-year-olds to 55-year-olds in attendance. The event was flawlessly executed, and my guests were quick to express how much they loved the space. Also, many of them mentioned that they would consider choosing Round1 for their future events. CeCe, the supervisor, also played a major role in ensuring the success of my large party. Her kindness and attentiveness ensured that every guest felt content and taken care of throughout their visit. And of course, our party host, Tarisha, checked in on us at every step, making sure we were enjoying ourselves and that everything was running smoothly. Now, let's talk about the food - it was sooooo GOOD! Our package included pizza, wings, French fries, and more. My guests all agreed that the food was truly amazing. I want to sincerely thank the entire Round1 team for delivering a level of service that exceeded my expectations in every way. The decision to choose Round1 over other options, like Dave & Buster's, became even more apparent as the event unfolded. Thank you to David, CeCe, Tarisha, Rochelle, and Keira for making this celebration a memorable one. completely unprofessional most of the games didn't work. lost a lot of credits from broken machines. attempted to tell the manager but he acted like a complete asshole and told us the games worked and refused to listen to our complaint. attempted to get food we waited in line with a dozen people just to find out ten minutes later the food stand was closed at 8pm. experience was terrible, staff didn't care wasted a LOT OF MONEY. never going back do not recommend to anyone. read more

They have no one servicing the bar. Additionally they have changed the claw machine to make it impossible to win. It use to be more fun, definitely went down hill. read more

With a little bit of work, this place can become the number one hangout spot in Towson. Round1 is a fantastic mix of American and Japanese arcades, bowling, pool, and most importantly, Karaoke. Rent out some of their equipment or get a money card to play their large variety of arcade games including crane games, ticket machines, fighting games, shooting games, and racing games. Anything you'd expect to find at a Dave & Busters or local arcade is here and then some. Round1 is, as of right now, the only place outside of Baltimore that has Karaoke rooms. The rooms are spacious, able to fit parties of 18 or more people with ease, with excellent music choices including Spanish and Chinese songs. The equipment is a little tough to use, but their karaoke system does let you integrate your phone for easier use. Round1 also has a few other cool benefits. Their membership card pays for itself if you use any combination of their pool tables, bowling alleys, or karaoke six times in a year. Their crane games are actually fair and you can win the prizes presented. Most importantly, when it gets late, Round1 becomes an adult only establishment. Despite my love for a new arcade, Round1 does have some serious shortcomings, some of which will lower my opinion of the establishment if they do not address them in the next few months: - You cannot reserve pool tables, bowling lanes, or karaoke rooms, making it very difficult to plan outtings with large group of friends - You are not allowed to bring alcoholic drinks into the karaoke rooms, which is a staple of any fun karaoke experience - You cannot order food while inside the karaoke room, requiring someone to leave the room, walk to the concession area, order, and wait for the food to pick it up. This is a huge inconvenience. - No complimentary water, which is bizarre for any establishment that serves food. Singing and bowling makes you thirsty, and forcing their patrons to pay for water feels stingy. - Renting pool tables, bowling lanes, and karaoke rooms is all done from the same two registers, meaning there is always a massive line when you want to enjoy one of Round1's activities - When you rent a karaoke room, you pay up front, where other karaoke places charge at the end of the night, this way, you can extend your stay in the room without having to constantly pay every hour. - The food is pretty terrible. Just low cost junk food. Think Chuck-E-Cheese quality food. Even after all these complaints, I still look forward in coming to Round1 every month. If these issues were addressed, I'd probably be coming every week. Round1 has the potential to be the absolute hot spot in all of Maryland. read more

Round 1 has a ton of arcade games where you can win tickets to exchange for prizes at the store. There's a bowling alley, karaoke, and a bar as well as a few TVs to watch your sports games. It's pretty spacious, but the only negative is the food that doesn't look nor taste good. Only thing worth ordering is the $0.99 ice cream and soda. read more
