I've come to Round1 three different occassions now. The first and the last time I went - I got smacked in the face with the stench of fart or poop or I don't know what type of sewer smells... I'm not even sure if it's from the bathroom or terrible HVAC systems to filter out the air -- or if it was all the children running around and maybe they're farting and some kids have poop in their diapers??? I dont know - all I know is -- it stinks in 3/5 of the space and it's the side where the bathroom and arcade games are. Towards the bowling alley and back to the food and tables area it wasn't TOO bad. BUT - hey! It's a casino for kids and adults! Wow - the timewarp in here is real. But let's face it - that is the goal - no windows - no clocks - loud music - lots of blinking lights and sounds and claw machine prizes too cute to not try to get a prize! This place is a great way to kill time but also spend a lot of money... those claw machines are DANGEROUS - the cute stuffies and trinkets and boxes of figures - and now even the snacks! The staff are young, but they do what they can to assist and they aren't necessarily service with a smile - but more so doing what they gotta do to do the job and keep the job... The food is not restaurant quality at all, feels more like frozen bags of fries and frozen chicken nuggets that were baked and fried and served... So I've probably spent $200 in 3 visits and they were all just to play with those darn claw machines. SELF CONTROL is necessary when all the cute stuffies are present. I couldn't give a full five stars because it's overpriced - the gouge on the pockets - averaging almost $3 per claw attempt with the bigger stuffies and a bit under $3 for the more trinket sized ones. So this is a money pit for adults and kids. ALSO since the food is literally freezer type that's heated up and the poop stench ruminating the place - just doesn't make me wanna rave about coming here to spend all my hard earned cash. It's a great place to occasionally go and enjoy with friends - the thrill of getting the claw to close and getting the cute stuffies - an expensive billiard experience and an expensive bowl - but if it's not a group thing or a fun date with your kiddo - you're lookin at a lot of money thrown into these machines. This is pretty much where a kid would wanna go for their birthday... chuck-e-cheese or D&B vibes but a little more elevated with the bowling option, billiards options, and claw machines. read more

Visiting in Daly City a friend and I needed to go to Trader Joe's before going she said let's go and play at Round1. This was actually first time. After 3rd try I got a stuff animal and my friend also was able to get one. Spending amount for $160. I realized the 3 metal prong claw actually rigged. I was able to grab the prize moving the claw open prize dropped. There claw is sure rigged. they don't hold tight if it did hold it will let go while moving. 2 stars because I got 2 stuff from the trip. Will try other games- they have bowling pool etc. Very noisy and lots of kids and teenager. I also observed no one watching the floor. One rider starts the moving car ride and others must be his friends climb all side. Not sure who they are. While it's moving all teenage would tugging on it. All I can say we cannot have good things to play with. Will give it another try in Hayward location this week. read more

Holy cow, I have been to pleeentttyyy of Round1s (NorCal and SoCal) and I don't think I have come across a rudder set of workers. I don't know if it's because they're overworked (I rather be overworked and see time fly...) or what. Yes, this has to be the busiest R1 ever. Thus the best payout you'll ever find. They've massively reduced their turkey legs :( First time I've come across workers with set roles (I guess). You need help getting a plush out of a machine after the coin/cheese token drops in? Good luck. You have to hunt a worker down LITERALLY who's on the floor. You try to tell a cashier (even if that's how you're supposed to do it at other R1s?). Good luck, THEY AINT HELPING. Tough luck if you are alone. You need help shuffling cards around since a card is stuck in the corner of the machine? GOOD LUCK! And it's hilarious. The highlight of this visit: I have the worst luck so I had to wait for payout whereas the neighboring machine with the same plush, you could win the plush in 2 plays. I think one of the workers was noticing this so much so they quickly switched out the plush to one that wasn't selling. Probably the largest crane, Chiba, UFO, Gemini, etc in the bay. Probably the most rhythm games, other arcade games, etc in the bay. WEAK af regarding coin pushers. Wizard of Oz? Nonexistent. Willy Wonka? Nonexistent. Oh by the way, you need a fresh stack of cards? GOOD LUCK! You'll likely be told excuses such as the cards are flying out too fast and no one is returning them. So what is this place? And how much money do you need to win something? I did recall using all of my $14 at the local smelly bowling alley to play TMNT the arcade when I was 10. Now inflation has caused the cost to increase by 10 fold or more. Tatar sauce! Is this place better than Dave and Busters? I don't know. Better than Chucky E Cheese or Scandia? I don't think so. They do have those claw machines. But why would millennials waste their money on that? Just for fancy flavors of ramen? Wait times for karaoke bar was 2 hours. You might think that's bad and normally it is. However it did helped save some money!! Yah I would rather go to a boba shop or ice cream parlor with some brand new board games or new magic set and just sit and talk. Even buying Pokemon from Best Buy and then ripping em at Cold Stone or shake shack would be cheaper and maybe even more thrilling. DDR was a fad that came and went. Round1 has improved upon one of my previous grievances. There are a lot more stuffed animals in the claw machines instead of the golden tokens, which means you can rely a bit more on skill than just sheer spamming for a payout grab. I still think the UFO machines in particular are a scam, though. The workers honestly don't really care from what I've seen, they just walk the perimeter and don't refill empty machines or reposition the stuffed animals unless you ask them to. I can understand not repositioning maybe, but not refilling unless you specifically go up is a bit much. I've had to chase down a few for this specific reason! We went on a weekday night and some teenagers and large groups of friends can be a tad rowdy. The arcade games remain quite fun to play, be it whether you're with one other person or a big group. read more

Killing some time we stumbled into Round 1 and said let's go! We mainly wanted to play claw machines and get some stuffies. We must not have been that lucky that day as a $100 bucks netted us 2-3 stuffies haha. We had to get card with promo for the cups and activate it with a fee. A lot of the claw machines you had to grab a round ball plushy, and drop it to win the wall items. Round 1, fight!! Reminds me of how Street Fighters II rose to early fame after its oldest predecessor. Arcade games sure had been time consuming, but they eat away precious amount of quarters in order to start playing or continue. Inside Stonestown Galleria next to Target, go downstairs and see a bunch of pachinko machines and a bowling alley; much similar to Pier 39. There's even a food bar where they order Japanese munchies including an iced matcha latte. How about that?! Of some businesses in and outside Stonestown Galleria, there's Marugame Udon (once C Sushi), Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Uncle Tetsu, Daiso, Miniso, Mochill Donuts, Onigilly, and Kizuki Ramen. There's even some cute vending machines that dispersed anime toys. I'm starting to believe Stonestown Galleria has become more and more like the same great mall back in Tokyo Japan! About Round 1, my friend and I were interested in trying out arcade games instead of bowling. Win or lose a few, what matters is having fun trying out as many as possible to our heart's content. Round1 has a ton of activities to choose from like bowling, karaoke, arcade games, and billiards, but what really makes it stand out is the claw machines. They have a huge variety of plush prizes, including a lot of premium options you don't usually see at other arcades. That's honestly the main reason I keep coming back. For the activities, I rarely have to wait long, which makes it super convenient if you're with a group of friends. The space is big, and there's always something to do whether you're in the mood for games, a round of bowling, or just hanging out. The reason I can't quite give this place 5 stars is because there are a few consistent pain points. If you win one of the plushes from the claw games that have the yellow plush ball or the games with figurines, it always takes a while to track someone down to help you claim it. The food is just okay, not bad, but nothing memorable, and the bar usually only has one bartender working, so getting a drink can take longer than you'd like, especially if it's busy. That said, Round1 is still a great spot to spend an afternoon or evening with friends. I can't believe I only recently found out about Round 1! Highly recommend for anyone who likes claw games & chance to win cute stuffies! They also have arcade games, bowling, & karaoke here. I only started getting into collecting cute stuffies in recent years & discovered I tend to have decent luck with claw machine games hahahaha. There is still one location in Massachusetts but on the opposite end of the state. They had a bunch of different types of claw machines, some more challenging than others. One of the games I played, there were two ways you could win: pick up the stuffed animal with the claw OR there was a round stuffed token that you could pick up & redeem for one of the stuffed animals in that machine. The staff are super nice and helpful. You can request them to help adjust the stuffed animals if you think it will give you a better chance. their bar and kitchen closes early. they need more promotional items, as i was looking forward to picking up the cute frieren merch, but they said they ran out on the first day! the staff are a little hard to track down when you win a prize. remarkably, they all have a good attitude, whether it be at the cashier or on the floor even into the later hours. most of the machines are stocked well with very cute and trendy prizes like sanrio, gloomy bear, san-x, anime, and more. they have different types of machines for each person, and many multiplayer games. i would say their credit prices are relatively worth it. i usually get one prize per $20-30 i spend, which is what i would've paid for the items anyway. there are so many loyal customers for their rhythm games; it's pretty cool to see. it's one of the bigger and more well-organized round 1's i've been to. read more

When you first walk in, it appears fun and there is definitely a lot of games to play, prizes to win and other activities to enjoy. Bowling here is just for fun. The pins are pin strung so even a well thrown ball get shorted. The bowling side quest game, I think it's called Moonlight Strike, where everyone throws at the same time and whoever gets a strike wins. It's fun to compete, but if you're paying by the hour, this definitely eats up precious time. I'm sure you could just bowl and forget about the game though. My daughter uses the ball ramp with bumpers. No matter how I align the ramp, the ball never rolls straight. Sometimes it drastically starts rolling toward the gutter. Bowling should be fun but when the lanes are that uneven, it almost makes it unenjoyable. For the crane games, I know people get lucky or are skilled enough to win, but in my opinion this is a money trap. It's a typical crane game where you latch on the prize then it drops rights before you win. Fun to try, but mainly frustrating when you don't win. There also isn't dairy free ice cream options. I tried to get my daughter ice cream but since she has a dairy allergy there was nothing she could have. Overall, I think this place can be fun if you're not worried about how much you're spending. You have one poor employee working his butt off running back and forth, serving at the bar and food court register simultaneously, completely overwhelmed. Then the ridiculous menu above that slowly scrolls through multiple menus which slows the ordering process even more should be eliminated. As I sit here at the food court, I am waiting for someone to turn the TV to the live Warriors game, but what do I see instead? "Direct TV" blank screen. Complained about it and nothing has changed. The crane games vary from 9.0 credits to 14.0 credits, and there are claw game with 3 and 2 claws where you have to push down the plushs. Some plushies include branded Round 1, Sanrio characters, anime figurines. They have mini plushies and big sized ones. Came here on both a weekday and on a weekend! Def recommend coming on a weekday because it's a lot less crowded and I'm not sure if this is true, but I feel like the claw machines are a lot easier to win on weekdays? When I went on a weekday, it was pretty empty and for $20 I was able to get two stuffed animals (which is not bad considering I'm not very good at claw machines!). When my boyfriend and I came on a weekend, we spent $50 for coins but didn't end up winning anything :(. We haven't tried the food so I can't speak on it but given that we're inside the mall, there are a decent amount of options nearby Round 1. I like that there's also a bowling alley so there's always that option if you feel like doing something a bit more active at the arcade! I do want to say that we appreciated the staff members being willing to rearrange the plushies in certain claw machines when we asked due to the remaining plushies being in awkward angles/ positions! Finally, a Round1 Arcade in SF! I first heard about Round1 from a friend who used to live in the Hayward area, so I was excited to check out their new San Francisco location. My first impression was that the arcade is bright, lively, and filled with an overwhelming amount of stimulating lights and sounds, but it's also very clean and well-organized. One thing that immediately stood out to me was the number of claw machines. I was surprised by how many there were, all stocked with an impressive selection of cute plushies. I visited during their opening month on a Saturday, and as expected, it was packed. Despite the crowds, I appreciated how the staff remained attentive and helpful. Visited yesterday evening after noting this opened during a recent trip to Stonestown. Entrance: When it's open, you can enter through Target. There's also an entrance in the parking structure, which is how we had to exit after Target closed. We took a lap when we arrived and were impressed by how large it is. There aren't a ton of old school video/arcade games, but there seemed to be something for everyone. We purchased two game cards and played a few games with "tokens" to spare for our next visit. Our main goal was to bowl, so we went to the counter and got on the waitlist. It was about a 30 min wait so we grabbed drinks at the bar and played a few games. We got a text that our lane was ready, completed our purchase, and played two games. The lanes were nice and other than being a little warm, we played two fun games. We then ordered some food while we debated if we wanted to play billiards or not. I had a slice of pizza, my husband had a cheeseburger and we split the jalapeño cheddar poppers. We both thought everything tasted good, but I think the poppers were a little overpriced ($9.99). We decided to save billiards for next time and played a couple more games before heading out. I was glad to see so many people there and as we were leaving around 8, people were still arriving for the night (they close at 2am). The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful and my only complaints were the long lines for food and drinks. I was so excited when I found out there's a Round 1 in this city! I went here on a Tuesday around 3:20pm and there was no wait to get inside. I heard there's usually a wait later at night though. They sell food here and they have a bar too. Ok so one of my goals when I went here was to finally win something from the claw machines. I didn't end up winning anything and saw many people struggling too! I currently feel like the claw machines at this location are RIGGED. I even watched how people I know win a prize from these claw machine games before, but it didn't work over here. Besides my negative claw machine situation, I liked how they have a good variety of food here and a dining area too. The food was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the Chicken Karaage. Those Chicken Karaage were a bit more on the dry side. They also ran out of certain items, while other items had a 1 hour wait. I'd visit this place again, but maybe not for the claw machines. I feel like I need to watch more people actually win something from the claw machines here. At least I was able to win enough tickets from one of the games here to claim my prize here. read more

Round1 always gives me mixed feelings. I know they're a business and have to make a profit, but I can't help but feel like they're constantly penny pinching and creating just good enough of an experience to scrape by. Prize quality has gone down a ton since opening. A good chunk of the prizes look like they came out of Walmart claw machines. The other ones are super hard to win, expect to spend at least $50 each time. Popular characters like Sanrio are only available in the round coin plush machines (versus having the actual plush in the machine), and these machines only pay out after a certain amount of plays. The food area in the back always smells strongly of rancid grease and it's always hot inside. Food takes a long time to come out. I've never seen an employee there smile. If there were literally anything else to do after 10pm in the area, it would probably be a better experience than Round1. I think Round1 could be great, but it falls short in many ways. read more

Had fun playing claw machines with my friend. We spent 2 hours in total playing to win all these. My favorite winnings were the Cow Millshake, Duck with Knife, and Tiny Line Friends Bear. When we arrived we were met by security to scan/wand us for dangerous items and show our IDs. I liked this because it made it feel safe and kept out any rift raft. We arrived at 11:30pm ish and there was quite a bit of people inside. At first it didn't seem like they had a lot of good prizes but some grew on me. By the end of the night my friend and I were lucky to have a pile of prizes. Some prizes took longer than others to get but it was worth it. If you plan on winning a lot I recommend bringing a bag or cart to hold all your winnings. They don't provide pages or anything. read more

This place is better than Dave and Busters but there still are a lot of issues they need to work out. There are too few workers working the claw machines, it takes a long time to flag someone down if you win something and need their help to get it. The heat is on way too high, I always get sweaty when I come here even in shorts and a t shirt. The ice cream is often sold out, and in general the customer service is lacking. We lost some credits on our card due to some system error - they could do nothing to help multiple times because the manager wasn't working at the hours we went. They suggested we follow up online with customer service. I emailed them through the website and they responded to me once and then ghosted me after without solving the issue. The manager at the stonestown round one needs to do better. We've visited the other round 1's in the bay area and they ate much better managed. This one probably gets thr most visitors so they should hire better staff before they drive away their customers. read more

Round1 was quite underwhelming. You walk in through the sliding glass doors and it's super loud and kind of bright. There are a number of arcade games but then you walk about 40 to 50 feet, and all you see are claw machines. Claw machines lit up with bright white fluorescent lights take up more than half of the open floorspace. It appears there aren't nearly as many arcade games for playing and some were already out of service. All three air hockey tables were out of service and the paddles weren't in sight. When I asked a staff member about the air hockey tables, he said they only had one puck available and one machine should be working. After he went to survey the situation, he came back and said the puck must be gone. They have ordered more pucks but they haven't arrived yet. For opening just a little over a month ago, the place is grossly dirty. They have not cleaned the machines they rented. There's very old gum stuck to one of the machines, dust and clumps of dust balls lining some of the machines, old dried spills on the floorboard on some, and even a plastic bag stuck at the top of the Fast and Furious arcade machine. The walls as you enter either the Women's or Men's restrooms have peeled paint and chipped Sheetrock. The mirrors in the Women's restroom is nasty with a poor cleaning job of swirls of white smears. The bowling alley area decor and vibe is really boring and sterile. Same for the dining area. There is a full bar so that's a plus. Their food offerings look decent and the prices of the items are reasonable. Based on the menus, there's a variety of items available including pizzas, chicken wings, burgers, and Japanese food like gyoza and ramen. They also have Icees! As a kid I loved when I could get an Icee! I didn't have any of the food or beverages so I can't comment on them. There was a small ticket and prize redemption area which likely will have a high shrink rate given that there were many bins of candies and small toys for the picking to redeem with 10 tickets. Security guards were not present. With alcohol being served and a place that will attract teenage and college aged people, I would have expected to see security walking around. There were young staff members scattered about, replenishing prizes and fixing arcade machines but no one that looked like management or security. Nothing about this place makes me want to come back. I hope my child never asks me to return. However, I know there will be a future trip because I paid $2 to load a card and we still have money on the card to spend. Paying $2 for each card was an odd fee for what we know will be expensive games anyways. read more

Absolutely terrible experience at round1. Go outside of SF for your bowling and arcade fun times. This place literally stinks like farts or sewage and the employees had no idea why. We wanted to leave after the first 10 min it smelled so bad but didnt want to waste 55$. The music was broken for the entire place so the bowling had no music just big screens of minor league football. The bowling balls were awful ( couldn't fit fingers in any of the holes, no matter what weight ball you had), the lanes were very wide and had comfy seating and the line for the bar was so long we couldn't order or else we would have wasted our hour. The kiosk has an "order food and drink " button but then its not available- maybe due to lack of staff/ servers. I DO NOT recommend spending money here, what a crying shame because SF needs something like this and the neighborhood/ rest of the mall is so awesome. You would think this would be great addition to the mall but its just horrible, they didn't get the details right. Smh read more

Round 1 Stonestown is officially here!! Soft opening tomorrow, 11/9/24, but Friends and Family were invited today for a sneak peek. Location is spacious and workers are all super excited and friendly! Ethan was so welcoming and greeted everyone at the door today, I loved his energy and excitement. Lots of workers were around to help with the machines and bowling area today, I even got to meet their AGM. This is the PERFECT location for parties and group gatherings. Best of all, it's right in our backyard w/ plenty of parking (both outdoors and in the covered garage) and the pizza here is not bad either. So nice to be able to dine and play all in one area at the same time. :) Be sure to stop by and check out this Round 1 before word gets out that they're open. Super fun arcade in SF. This is the first round 1 that I've ever been to, and I've gone back on multiple occasions for different celebrations and times to hang out with friends. They have a variety of different claw machines, arcade games, bowling, and karaoke rooms. When we came on a weekday night, we have to wait about an hour for the bowling which wasn't bad. The pins are attached to some string to help with set up, so the feel and the physics aren't like traditional bowling alleys. The plushies are so cute, and this place seems a little better maintained than other round 1s throughout the Bay Area. I wish the UFO claw had more variety in the plushies. There were also still a few machines that were broken when I went. You can ask a staff member to reset the claw machine to reposition the plushie too! Most people have been really nice. I also always play DDR when I come. In order to access the harder levels, you need to get an additional card ($6/card, which you can use again in future visits), to save your status and skill level. Kind of inconvenient, especially if you don't play that frequently! read more

So many claw machines. I don't have kids so I didn't realize how popular claw machines have gotten! Mini, Medium, Big - all sizes of claw machines! And they all look rigged. The stuffies are way too heavy for the claws, but they're still really popular to play. The bowling alley had about 8-9 lanes. There's also billiards and party rooms that also have karaoke. I can see this being really popular for under 13 year-olds. The bar was dinky and not impressive. I didn't hear until after that Round1 is popular for its $0.99 ice cream so I will be back to check that out. I'm glad something has taken over the basement of Nordstrom's. I love Round 1, there so much activations here! Bowling, Pool, Arcade, and Claw Machines. This is a good spot if you want to watch a game while playing pool. It's pretty quiet on the weekdays. Downside: I think their staff need a little bit more training. Their are times where i'm waiting in line, 1 staff is managing the guest counter while 3 other staff are just yapping away lol. I also noticed a significant decline in their Claw Machine staff. Normally there is always 2-3 staff members walking around assisting people but I've noticed only 1 staff member during my last visit. read more

There's a lot to do here, from bowling and claw machines (the grabby games where you try to win a prize!) to a variety of arcade games. They even offer food and drinks, which was a nice surprise when I visited. I ordered a Moscow Mule for just $3.99--such a good deal. I did try my luck at the claw games but didn't win any prizes, so be prepared to spend a fair amount if you're hoping to walk away with something. It's also really convenient that it's located right inside Stonestown Mall, making it an easy spot to stop by after shopping. This review is for the party hosting experience only. And that experience was a joke!!!!! Want to throw a party here? try a different place. I just booked a party room for my daughter's birthday and worse and inconsistent service ever. Not sure if its management, hiring, or training thats bad... but end result is the experience is horrible for whoever is hosting a party. Service is lacking in every department except for the staff at the party/group desk. Even that is a gamble because the good staff's shift would end and the horrible staff takes over. Bar staff will tell you to order shots or beer only, they don't have time to make anything else even though there's literally nobody at the bar. Also, you will more than likely have to refill your own pitchers of soda because nobody will check on your party unless they are delivering food. Nobody will help keep the room clean either and you know what? You better tell your guests to not throw any plates or cups away... because you will not be able to get more. You will have to negotiate with the kitchen staff to get more paper plates, napkins, and paper cups and ultimately get shot down. I ended up running next door to Target to buy my own plates, napkins, utensils, and cups because I dont have time to argue for them in the middle of the party. They tell you they will provide what you need for the party when you're booking it. During the party, if you say you have 20 kids, you will only get 20 cups, 20 plates, etc... they will not give you any more regardless how much you are spending there. The staff in the kitchen and the bar is 99% useless. They work like they dont give a damn about their job and will do minimum work. Every time you need something, you will have to run out to the counter. Bottom line is this place does not care about your party. The caring stopped once your party starts. You're off on your own. I repeat... worst experience ever!!! I cant rant over and over because that's how bad our experience was. Any way... good luck! read more

I'm glad a Round1 opened in SF instead of having to commute to SJ or Fremont. Came here on a Sunday afternoon at around 1:30pm ish. Very crowded already, some aisles you have to literally walk sideways and squeeze by people. But to be expected since this place just opened and the hype is still big at the moment. Didn't spend too much time at the claw machines this time around since it was too crowded. Managed to win a small plush keychain in 2 tries. It felt like the large claw machines' grip strength was super weak compared to other claw machines at other Round1s. Didn't get a chance to spend too long at the large claw machines. Line to purchase and refill game cards at the counter was very very long. Didn't try the food this time around. Bowling alleys were not busy at the time we went. Didn't check pool tables or karaoke/party rooms. I suggest waiting another few weeks when the hype dies down before you visit, or go during the middle of the day during the weekday. read more

Came with four kids to spend a gifted card with a LOT of credits. Loved the variety of arcade games though not thrilled with how many straight-up token mining games there were. Highlights were the Icee game, very affordable skeeball, team car and motorcycle race games. Also noticed the games are generally time limited, so you can win but still have to pay more to get to the next level. We had a good time and the person in the prize room was super patient with the kids as they figured out what treasures they could afford. read more

I spent $22 but didn't win anything on the claw machine. I really want to win the big panda but I don't think it's possible to grab the yellow pillow. I see others winning by grabbing the actual stuffed animal in other machines. I feel cheated and wasted my money on nothing like gambling. read more

First time here at Round1. It's a good size arcade. I wish there was more playing arcade games. There's sooooooo many claw machines and less games. I didn't get to try their food or bowling area, I'll for sure come back next time since it's still a cool hangout spot with friends/family. Park in the stonestown 1st floor parking garage. read more

Ramen was okay but the alcoholic bar was closed and on top of that the imported drinks were expensive. I wouldn't mind paying expensive just needs to be a little bit higher quality. Bowling was decently nice though the place was mostly dead I was expecting more people. At least the asian guy at the counter (this was at night) was nice to us however.
