The breakfast burritos and the Clubber are my favorites but everything we have tried has been great.

Food: Excellent food and generous portions. The trout…read moresandwich with fries was a standout, and the fried green tomato appetizer paired nicely with the gastrique, greens, and spicy pimento cheese. The burger and tater tots were also very good. The menu offers a wide variety of specialty burgers with plenty of customization options, including grass-fed beef for a small upcharge. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. The tavern has a darker, eclectic vibe with artwork, punk music, and a slightly edgy feel. The décor fits the restaurant's origins and personality, though the lighting--including in the restrooms--is quite dim. Parking downtown can be somewhat difficult during busy times.

I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. Would I come back here again for a meal, no. Would I consider coming back to try a cocktail, maybe, only because overheard the bartender speaking to some patrons quite passionately about the flavors which they put together so I would give this part. Another chance even though the kitchen has lost my confidence,

Boiled peanuts are a dish (bag) that is not made anywhere in all of Phoenix, Az. where I'm from. I…read moreheard about boiled peanuts soon after moving to Atlanta, but until yesterday, hadn't ever tried any. Finally, on the way home from camping, my driver decided that she was really in the mood for some boiled peanuts and stopped at the first sign she saw. Amazingly, we stopped at what amounted to some guy's garage on the side of the road. With nervous excitement, we kind of knew these were going to be some awesome boiled peanuts. Outside in the gravel parking lot of the garage, there stood a large 5 gallon metal bucket, with a propane tank attached as a heat source. What made this more awesome was that what they used a soup can with a handle attached as the means to pull the boiled peanuts out of the bucket. Seriously, an old soup can. These boiled peanuts had to be good. We bought two bags. Oh. When you buy boiled peanuts from a woman who tells you every dramatic thing about her father dying, getting a flat tire, and other car troubles, and then working in the garage somewhere are a shirtless guy and an older grandpa with overalls... you know you're buying possibly some of the best boiled peanuts anywhere in the state of Georgia! These were excellent. Sure, I've never had any before then, but don't just take my word for it, my two friends who have lived here most of their lives all agreed that these were some really great boiled peanuts. We couldn't stop eating them all the way back to Atlanta. Now I'm not sure if The Hut will stay open, or if you'll ever be there when they are open. We stopped at around 2pm on Saturday and they had only just opened up 15 minutes earlier. But, if you're ever on Highway 19, just north of Dahlonega, and you pass the corner of Highway 19 and Camp Washega Rd., on the north east corner are some of the best boiled peanuts you'll ever find.
