I first took my car here to replace a tire that was continuously low. Instead of replacing the tire, they were honest in their assessment that I didn't need one. They removed a screw, patched a hole and told me I had at least 6 months until I needed new tires. I returned 6 months later for new tires, additional maintenance, and some concerns with a noise that someone else insisted were bearings that needed replacing. They had another opportunity to make additional money on me, and instead were honest. The noise went away after replacing the tires. As a small, business owner myself, it is very important to me to see other small businesses conduct business honestly, and with the understanding that if you do the right thing, you will get repeat customers and referrals. I've been very happy with Rouse's...they have a customer for life! read more

Rouse's diagnosed the problem and did NO other work on it but still charged me $100...they were treating me like they were doing me a favor by looking at my car so I decided to get it serviced elsewhere. I asked them to park the car in the garage so it would stay clean over the weekend, and they did so without hesitation. If my car had to break down over 26 miles away from home, it picked the best place possible for me. It happened right by Rouse's Auto Repair Shop and Jim was right there to help me out. He quickly discovered that the problem was a sensor. He gave me a loaner car and told me it would be fixed as soon as possible. It Was! Less than 24 hours later he was able to obtain a new sensor and install it. The charge was more than fair. My car had been reacting exactly as if my transmission had died. He could have easily told me that I needed a new transmission (as I'm sure other less reputable places would) and then charged me thousands for one. I sure wish that this shop was closer to my house. I grew up in the area, and my parents always took their cars here. Once I moved back to the area, I tried a few different places out of necessity and never felt confident about them. But now I make absolutely sure that if I see an issue coming I take it in here before I get stuck with whoever the nearest mechanic is. I have been having my ever-growing fleet of personal and business vehicles maintained by Rouse's Auto Repair for over 15 years. I am a do-it-your-selfer, so I can do many auto repairs and maintenance myself. However, for larger items, or when I'm in a time crunch I go to Rouse's. They are fair priced, get the work done right the first time, and are very cordial to work with. I currently maintain 6 autos and seem to have an auto there at least monthly. They have been timely with repairs and will complete the work when they promise it. I wouldn't go anywhere else for auto/truck repairs. First class operation! read more

Rich and Jim are really good, straight talking guys. They've worked on a series of family cars for almost 20 years now. They maintain my cars as well as those of our daughters. In one case the Ford dealership told me I needed a new automatic transmission and when I showed it to Rich, he figured out that all it needed was a new thermostat. Cost me about 25 bucks versus $3,000 that the dealership swore it needed! read more

I have been going to ROUSES. for 25 years with many cars and trust them implicitly. I don't feel that I've ever been "ripped off"and their prices are extremely good. Just had three bulbs replaced, the dealer was going to charge $100, ROUSES $20. Same cost difference for larger repairs too. Go local people, skip the dealers! read more

I rarely give five stars and for Rouse's if I could give six stars I would do so. I just wish I had found them earlier. I feel silly for not going to them earlier. They are honest, helpful, hardworking, etc. And they only do repairs that are really necessary. They have saved me so much over the last couple years. Rich and the team are honest and fair priced. They will not recommend work that is not needed and will tell you what can be done, what should be done, and what can wait. At one point in time I could not afford the repairs Rich said were critical, and he worked it out with me to get the fixes done immedaitely, and pay the bill once I was able to.
