It is no wonder why my parents have been coming to Complete Care Automotive for at least five years. They are up front, honest, and attentive, and they run their business with integrity. I am not a car maintenance expert; in fact, I just assume it will run forever with no effort required to keep it in shape. So when Jiffy Lube told me they could not change my oil because the thread on the oil pan cap had been stripped and the whole pan needed to be replaced before I could get an oil change, I immediately fell out of my zero maintenance fantasy and took it to Complete Care Automotive. Since I was bringing the car in anyway, I asked them look and make sure everything else was ok. After all, it does have 143,000 miles on it. When I took the car in, they quoted me very reasonable prices for both the parts and labor of the oil pan, and they were actually surprised that I was still able to drive given that the rear brakes were completely shot. Ok, I will get those fixed too. This is where the five stars come from. Instead of blindly fixing the oil pan, he first suggested trying to rethread the oil pan cap instead of replacing it. But when he unscrewed it and drained the oil, he was able to put the cap back in, and refill the oil. No problem. The only charge was for an oil change, which I needed anyway. The air conditioning on the car has not been working, so they think it may be a freon leak. Instead of charging it with freon and dye now to find the leak, they suggested doing it at the beginning of the summer, so that the freon might last the whole summer before any more work needs to be done. So overall, I went in to have $900 worth of work done, only to find out that I didn't need to have that done, got my dead brakes fixed, got the oil changed, got a plan for the AC, and I have confidence that my car is not going to spontaneously blow up (or lose the ability to brake). They clearly are a conscientious and fair-dealing company. Five stars and then some. read more
