This review is actually past due but in June my girlfriend and I purchased a used Jeep Wrangler from Route 146 Auto Sales and we couldn't be happier. Ron was a fantastic salesman - incredibly helpful during the process and the whole staff was truly awesome. We had some logistical complications between traveling from out of state (and organizing ferry reservations living on an island) and the team was always willing to work with us. In addition, because my girlfriend is newer to driving and it's a 2018 vehicle, the auto shop was able to put a backup camera and display into the vehicle for us - which made the purchase both possible and greatly put at ease any concern I had for her safety. Plus, as one of us is a permanent resident - the loan application process required an exorbitant amount of paper work and hoops to jump through. While other dealerships might have bailed on the process- Tara and Ron remained communicative and committed to making sure we could complete every documentation to the satisfactory of the bank. After I purchased the car I took it to my local mechanic, who confirmed the work put into the vehicle prior to sale was great and the Jeep was in wonderful shape. We have since driven it round trip to Virginia over the course of several short days - and the ride was incredibly smooth and the car performed perfectly. I couldn't be happier with our experience, I would absolutely come back to Ron and the group at Route 146 and if we ever plan to lift or modify the Jeep I absolutely would do it here. Hello anyone reading this. This is my first time leaving a review. I'm quite the calm person. This dealership is shady. I saw a vehicle I liked, and when discussing price, the finance guy told me to "get lost", and that I was "not a genuine person" after asking for a lower price to repair the damage on the vehicle that was not clearly advertised in the pictures. I have not been treated like less than human at a business before. I asked why he would say something like this, when we're just talking numbers at a business, and that emotions shouldn't be involved. They have a price they need, I have a price I need, there's nothing more than that. He told me "because I said so. Get lost". I mentioned this to the owner. The owner told me that he apologized on behalf of the finance guy. He told me that if I still wanted the vehicle, he would give it to me for what I asked and he wanted to make it right. This was Saturday before close. He told me he will "put a fork in it" as in the deal is good, and we shook hands. I called Monday with cash ready, and he told me the vehicle had sold. I'd be wary of doing business with a place like this. A vehicle is a large financial investment, and it's best not to have doubts of what you're getting into. Whatever vehicle you're looking for, I'm confident you'd be happier buying it at a different location. They don't have anything worth this type of business. People need to be treated with respect both ways. Emotions have no role in business. This is not professional. Be warned. read more

I normally don't leave reviews, but the level of unprofessionalism I've experienced here deserves to be noted. After a serious issue with how their salesman (Jeb) handled a truck purchase whereas we had a deal in place to purchase a vehicle and then after deciding not to purchase an extended warranty for the vehicle, they pulled the deal off the table and went forward and sold the vehicle to another party. I attempted multiple times to contact the owner (Joe) directly to address how this transpired. Calls, texts, and messages were all ignored without a single acknowledgment. The complete lack of accountability and customer care is alarming. If this is how this business chooses to operate-avoiding communication and refusing to address problems-then it speaks volumes about their overall business practices and professional standards. I strongly recommend thinking twice before doing business here, it seems that this dealer is run under ownership that has absolutely no respect or professionalism for the consumer. read more

I have been involved in automotive parts for ages. I've been in countless repair facilities. I went into Route 146 but sales simply on a sales call hoping to get their business. At the same time, I needed a tire swap on my truck . I was really impressed with the operation and how they dealt with their customer so I got an appointment for the repair. I showed up for the repair and the customer service was outstanding. They were honest, fast, priced right and a true pleasure to deal with!!!!! read more

Went to Rte 146 for a car for my son. We met with Jay and test drove it. Son wanted to wait to look at other cars and Jay was not pushy and very understanding. Went back a couple of weeks later and Jay was not in, but met with Joe the owner. Showed us around the place and was very nice and again not the pushy sales type. Absolutely horrible place to shop. Biggest joke of a staff. Had to keep calling to find out about financing after i put a deposit on truck. Finally got financing all set and had to put together the deposit. Spoke to joe the finace guy monday came by to drop off money down to find out they sold the truck out from under me. There excuse they contacted me. No matter what I had a deposit on the truck with financing in the works. He then asked me if there was anything else on the lot that i liked! Now I check my account and have not been refunded. I was warned in the past about this dealership but ignored it. STAY AWAY I bought a truck last year and from the beginning it was a complete dumpster fire.. The owners name is Joe and I warn everybody to stay clear away. All the trucks on his lot at one point had problems and he buys them dirt cheap and half fixes them just enough to pass inspection and drops the remaining things on the customers... he will push warranty's because he knows exactly what's gonna break. I bought a Dodge ram that was eight years old off of his lot and had nothing but problems. I've invested over $3000 in parts and labor in this hunk of junk in the past year. I've heard multiple stories about the dealership and decided to ignore them because I really liked this truck. Read all the reviews because they're all correct he is nothing but a cheat.. oh and the positive ones you may read.. see how many other reviews they've written. I would never buy another truck from 146 Auto Sales again. They sold me a truck that still had a lien on it and then gave us attitude when I would call to see if my registration has come in. It took 3 1/2 weeks just to get some answers. The owner will do anything to sell the truck but after the money is given and you sign the paperwork. He will treat you like Crap on his shoe. read more

DON'T BUY anything from these people. Bought a truck at full price bc they refused to negotiate. Had problems with it right away including the brakes failing. I took it to my mechanic and they put the wrong fluid in where the brake fluid is suppose to be. They would do nothing to correct this except to say that my mechanic was lying bc their mechanic would never make such a mistake. I would give them zero stars if I could. I had to pay for the brake repair myself after they refused to help and I could have been seriously injured...used the e brake to stop the vehicle. DON'T GO HERE read more

I was a 3 time costumer of 146 Auto Sales. My 3rd purchase was a 2007 Lincoln Mark LT pick up. I was convinced the warranty they were suggesting was the absolute best plan there was so, I went along and purchased it. No less than 1 month of ownership I had to have the transmission rebuilt, that was problem #1. Last summer I felt the a/c wasn't cold and was going to have it recharged and low and behold the condensor was rotted and needed to have that replaced, luckily that was covered but, to a $100 dollar charge. Then, 1 month ago I was going to work and all instruments power windows, guage cluster, etc. all major electrical parts had gone out. I brought it to 146 to see if they could diagnose and repair the problem. They came to the conclusion that it was the guage cluster and would send it out for repair and make a bypass on the circuit. I was informed that upon sending cluster out it came back with no issues but they couldn't repair it and suggested I take it to a dealership. So, that's what I did and guess what, after $1000.30 later...it was the cluster and low and behold it's not covered under this super warranty. It isn't covered surprise, suprise.. buyers beware! Drove two hours to test drive a truck. Within 5 feet of pulling out of their driveway it had a blown turbo sensor and check engine light came on. When I started raising concerns the owner got very defensive. He then tried convincing me to let him drive the truck to me after he fixed it, and we would sign the paoerwork on the hood of the truck. Lol. I then asked what the terms would be and wanted to talk about price (which we had never done). The owners response was "the price is the price". The terms of the loan and the price were not ok with me and I had discussed the terms I wanted with his daughter, and they were ignored and manipulated. I am very skeptical and watch very closely when dealing at car dealers whether new or used dealers. I have been told by other dealers I am as tough as it gets from buyers ad have stretched many deals being firm than the salesman think I could. I stumbled upon a vehicle for my Daughter that suited her wants, needs, budget etc.The folks here were very easy to work with acted promptly on a couple small requests and worked a tight time schedule to have the car ready for my Daughter who had a time crunch to be out of town. A few weeks have gone by and my Daughter comes home for the holiday and says car is great except she is having battery issues. Her car is a little beyond the warranty mileage. I called the dealer with only a few hours available for her travels home and they took her car in, replaced the battery no questions. I am very happy with the service these folks have displayed for me especially since the car resides a couple hours from here. I am skeptical of the poor reviews, wonder if it is for maybe under different management or someone with friends trashing the business. My experience has been nothing but smooth. Rocco read more

I bought my truck from Rt 146 about 2 years ago. It's been a great vehicle and all expenses have been on routine maintenance. I brought my truck in to have them check it out and provide me with a tire quote. They went through the truck with a fine tooth comb, and let me know there is nothing other than a couple of minor things that I need to address. They recommended 3 different types of tires and walked me through the the benefits of each. When I dropped it off to get the tires a week later, they gave me a ride back to work. At the end of the day, Bree had my truck waiting next to the door and had just finished warming it up for me, since it was cold outside. purchased a truck 5/6/16 on 5/27/16 my check engine and reduced engine power lights came on the codes are all related to the throttle body I have had 4 mechanics work on it each one walking away saying I don't know what else to do !!! it has been in a repair garage for 32 days since 5/27/16 and I have spent $1300+ in repairs plus loss wages and rental fees. One of the most overpriced dealerships out there. Their vehicles are marked up by $5000 easily. On top of that, they treat you like an idiot. There's one truck on their lot that they list for $31994, they actually just bought the truck from an out of state dealership for $25995. When I asked them about it they said I was mistaken. Then I had told them that I was looking at this truck at the other dealership and had snapped a pic of the vin so I could run a carfax, and the two vins were the same, they basically called me a liar. Hey, I'm all for making a profit but to be that dishonest and rude about it is just inexcusable. read more

Great people that go the extra mile can't say enough good things about them all at route 146 auto sales. Bought my F150 from them last month and as any used truck I had an issue which they immediately fixed and gave me a loaner whole fixing it because I needed something To get back and forth to work. I am very happy how they were able to get me a loan even with my terrible credit and the terms and even the rate was far better then anything I could have asked for. I recommend anyone and everyone To visit them and let them help wth your needs. purchased a 30,000 dollar truck from these folks and did not dicker the price at all, all i asked was that the trucks brakes were true and straight, meaning i wanted no pulsation from bent / warped rotors. they told me three individuals drove the truck and the rotors were true. After purchase i was driving it home, i notice pulsation while stopping. i contacted them they took the vehicle back right away and did what ever they did saying the situation has been resolved. i don't know what they did but the situation was not resolved it still has pulsation while stopping, very unhappy about them being so cheap after a $30,000 dollar purchase. they also said the rear bumper was not a new/replaced bumper, i asked because it was flawless and appeared to be new, i asked about the truck being in an accident and that i noticed the bumper was new/replaced, they stated it was a near new truck and that is the only reason it was in good condition. well, another lie. i notice when i let the rear gate of the vehicle down, it not only is touching the body of the truck but is chipping the paint because the trucks old apparently damaged and since replaced bumper had been pushed up against the body of the truck and bent the body under the taillight in. then the frame of the truck was all surface rust, sales said they would have it wire brushed and coated and make it look right. well, now i have black speckles on my silver truck and i noticed they sprayed over dirt. will i go back??? for what, they apparently could careless about the customer, sorry i did business with them. as for the brakes, i will have "new rotors" put on the truck. really too bad to have used car dealers like this continue the stigma. use caution with these folks, although they all did it with a smile. read more

I am absolutely disgusted by the treatment at route 146 Auto Sales. My fiancé and I visited on Monday September 26th in the late afternoon and it was clear that our presence and business was not wanted. Before hand we were emailing back and forth inquiring about a vehicle, after a few days our emails were not responded to. We called almost every day with no return phone call or even an answer. When we arrived we walked over to the vehicle we were interested in waiting for somebody to come and greet us. After about 30 minutes we walked inside we sat down waiting for some assistance, an older gentlemen approached us, he was extremely rude and the first question was finance or cash. My fiancé responded with financing as he was approved for a private loan from his personal bank. The guy (who's name I don't know because he failed to introduce himself) then started badgering asking how he got a loan, and if he unsterstood what he was saying as if he was judging a book by its cover hinting that we could not afford what we were looking at. My fiancé then asked about some of the things he noted on the truck and received the quick response of "What do you want to know? You already went through the truck. I'm not spending a penny more on that truck, I have two pages of what we did, do you want to see them" we then politely said yes and he said give him five minutes. Once again we returned to the vehicle of intrest and waiting fifteen minutes for him to return and say "So do you want a purchase and sales agreement?" In shock my fiancé replied " I'm not ready for that yet, I haven't even driven it yet" and the guy mumbled something and walked away to help someone else. We then left. It's extremely disappointing we were not even offered a test drive, let alone the time of day and courtesy to answer our questions. i have never experienced such a luck of professionalism.
