    The bologna I was offered at an overinflated price.

    Their sales team is just there to make money not make long lasting customers. I have knowledge of how dealerships operate my cousin owned one years back. From The overpriced warranty to $900 document fee and that doesn't include the $300 registration fee. The warranty they quoted was for $3000 and included nothing. When I called back they offered me a wrap around warranty for a $3300 and I got the same thing for my current Subaru which only cost me $2000.

    We did not NEED a car, but felt it was time to replace our workhorse Ford Explorer. After a disappointing visit to another dealership in Yonkers, NY, we decided to visit Rt 17 Nissan. New York State's pandemic rules restricted test drives (or at least the way the Yonkers dealership operated; salespeople could not be in the car with customers). We live in Manhattan but my wife works in NJ, minutes away from Rt 17 Nissan, so we figured it was worth a visit since it was convenient. Our salesperson, Manny, was outstanding. We told him what we were looking for: make, model year preference, mileage range, colors, and features. A car on their website was a close match. He showed us a list of the inventory that fit--including the car we saw online. My wife REALLY wanted a moonroof. The car we were considering at the Yonkers dealership had one. He explained that while it's a highly sought after feature, they're harder to come by in recent pre-owned vehicles because folks tend to hold on to those cars longer. We walked the lot and Manny showed us cars that fit our short list. There was no pressure. He came across as genuine and shared what he thought were the pluses and drawbacks of each. He even steered us away from a similar model that caught my wife's eye. "You definitely don't want that. It's too tight for you guys." (I'm 6'5" and she's 6'.) "It's even too small for me!" he laughed. He showed us one with a mooroof. "I know it's not the color you want, but it's the only one we have." Although it was fully loaded, we passed--the color and interior was heinous! We finally settled on one and took it for a test drive. We didn't love it. When we walked the lot earlier, there was a car that had just arrived. It was freshly detailed but Manny had no info on it other than the mileage and a ballpark price. While we were back at the desk talking options, my wife asked to take that car for a drive. Turned out she liked it much better. I appreciated that they provided a CarFax report on each of the cars we looked at. This one had one owner, was well maintained, and insanely low mileage. We talked about price, and after a bit of back and forth, Manny brought out Rich, one of the managers, to do that dance that happens at car dealerships which we all hate. Rich was an affable guy and we had a nice chat and reasonable negotiation. We weren't trying to get the car for nothing, but we knew the value and what our budget was. As I said, we didn't NEED to buy a car, so when the negotiations stalled we said thank you very much, and got up to leave. After a moment Rich came back with a number much closer to ours--and we now have a "new" pre-owned car! The folks at Rt 17 Nissan made this process very smooth and not as unpleasant as going to a dealership can be. Both Rich and Manny were very helpful in getting all of the paperwork managed quickly. Just the other day we realized our temporary plates were to set to expire. Rich contacted my wife to let her know that the DMV was behind because of the pandemic. He emailed a document for us to have in the car in case we had any issues with the plates in the interim. I know people love to post when they have a crappy experience, but few share good ones. based on this experience I would highly recommend Rt 17 Nissan. We felt they were honest and willing to negotiate fairly. We plan to bring our new ride to Rt 17 for regular maintenance. If the service department treats us as well as Manny and Rich, we will be very happy.

    October 29, 2019 I was picked up from my home in Essex county, NJ. Engell Capellan picked me up to take me to the dealership. In the car, we had great conversations- he was very friendly, professional, and discussed the process with me. Once I arrived, I was greater by the staff members that were present. I was anxious about what my APR rate would be. We talked about it and he told not to worry that Jay is working hard at getting me the best deal (CarsDirect.com) finance manager. I test drove the 2016 Acura RDX Technology Package AWD. The car drove smooth. While we were driving, Engell said "did you feel that bump?" I said "no but I heard it." He laughed and said "that's the point!" Lol. I LOVED car, features, everything! It was perfect. I wanted that car. Once I finished the test drive, we went back and Engell met with the finance manager Benito. Engell came back with a down payment amount and monthly payment that was too much. He said don't worry Benito will re-negotiate with banks and get me the best deal. He came back and the down payment was $800 less and monthly payment $100 less. Benito assisted me with taking care of the paperwork. He was very friendly as well. Explained everything to me and he was able to get me financed through a teachers federal credit union, since I'm a professor! How perfect was that. I was extremely happy. They handled everything down to the insurance. I signed and drove home. Lol. Loved the entire process. Highly recommend purchasing from them.

    We used a car buying service for veterans via our bank USAA. The service is powered through truecar so in essence it is the same service. We figured we would go through USAA as we would have the backing of an organization that supports veterans. We were shopping for a car for our daughter and found a perfect fit. We proceed to apply for the loan and got a certificate through the app for the car that showed a guaranteed price of 9,990 + 499 for dealer fees + tax & MV fees. NO OTHER FEES WERE TO BE APPLIED. We went to the dealer and they begin their sales pitch. I told them we already got a price and we knew what we wanted. Our sales rep said they use those prices to lure people in but do not sell the car at that price. It is a ploy to bring people in. We showed the certificate we were given and asked that that advertised price be honored. They refused to honor it and instead presented us with the following additional fees: Anti-Theft Window Etching $299 PDSI Safety Inspection $995 Prep $895 Certification $1295 $3484 ABOVE THE QUOTED PRICE!!!! Really nice way to treat a veteran using their car buying service. Absolutely horrid ethics, advertising and business practice.
