    Turkey club and fries

Turkey club is the bomb. Fries was seasoned right and cooked perfect. Service was good as well.

Great place if you are expecting a small diner experience. That's exactly what they offer, it's what they do. They play the part of a small diner, it doesn't feel authentic, but they did a good job of looking like one. The food is on par. Nothing special, nothing to write home about. The burger is what you'd expect, the fries are diner fries, the club is something you'd expect from a place that serves burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken strip. I can't really comment on specifics, I've only been twice, but have no bad things to say about it. If it helps, I'll be going back when I'm driving down 44 again.

This is such a cute little restaurant. I love the juke restaurant atmosphere. Definitely gives early 1950's vibes. Service was great. And the tables stayed clean and clear once a family left. No dirty dishes or food were left on tables. It gives the appearance that the restaurant is clean and presentable. The food was delicious. Everyone in my family enjoyed their plates. I ordered a BLT. They were not being greedy with the bacon! My son ordered a burger and it was huge! He said it was juicy and the Fries were crispy too! Thank you for being open on Thanksgiving Day. My son graduated bootcamp the day before and we had no plans for dinner the next day. We aren't from the area and didn't have a kitchen to cook a big dinner. So this was very much appreciated! We will be visiting again soon!

Route 66 Diner in St. Robert, MO, offers a classic diner experience, but it's showing its age. The atmosphere is nostalgic, but the interior could benefit from some updates. Despite the slightly worn appearance, my server was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the Tenderloin dinner with mashed potatoes and corn. The tenderloin was hand-breaded and served with country gravy, which was a bit unexpected as I hadn't read the menu description closely. While the gravy wasn't bad, it wasn't my preference. The mashed potatoes seemed homemade but were a bit dry. Overall, the meal was decent but not particularly memorable.

A fun meal stop just off the highway. Architecturally, it mimics the old steel train cars that made the original breakfast-all-day and American comfort meal eateries. The menu here continues that, too. Our burger was a juicy third-pounder. A roast beef sandwich was made with excellent rye bread and came with homemade potato chips. Both meals were delivered quickly with efficient service for a busy holiday lunch stop.

Fun old time diner atmosphere just outside Fort Leonard Wood in Saint Roberts, MO. You can rely on typical diner faire made just like it was in the 60s. Good stop before heading over to the fort to see your son or daughter graduate from Army Boot Camp.

I went to the Route 66 Diner for dinner and had a wonderful experience! There were almost no cars in the parking lot so I was a little skeptical at first, but this diner did not disappoint. The diner takes you back to the 50s with all the interior decorations and music. The waitress I had was lovely and checked on me throughout my meal. I had the Route 66 Burger with fries. Although it was nothing to write home about, it was seasoned well and cooked to my liking. Just a classic American burger. This diner, however, I would say is more a go to for the vibe, and less about the food.

    Dirty floor

The food was ok at best The service was slow and not very friendly The place needs a good deep cleaning.

Before I could even get my glasses out of the case, our waitress--who also doubled as the bartender--was standing by, ready to take the order. Lucky for her, we already knew what we wanted. Drinks landed fast, followed by salads with the right dressing (a small victory in this world), and the steaks showed up before I'd even made a dent in the seat cushion. Mine came out just right--good sear, the right touch of smoke--and that baked potato was the soft, fluffy sort that needs nothing but a little butter and guilt. Our server managed that perfect balance: always nearby when we needed something, never hovering like a drone at dinner. All told, Colton's makes it easy to sit back, enjoy a properly cooked steak, and feel like you're being taken care of by folks who actually enjoy what they do. I'll be back.

The chips and artichoke dip which was not good at all to say the least and the chips tasted stale. But the mozzarella sticks were good. For our main course we got the sirloin and shrimp on a bed of rice with a side of cheesy mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. The steak was cooked very good. Exactly how my wife had asked for it. The shrimp wasn't all that but what do you expect for a landlocked state. Both sides lacked any real flavor, but the Mac&Cheese was "terrible" and my wife could only stand 2 bites before not touching it again. We also got the smoked sirloin with added mushrooms/onions with a side of mushrooms and green beans. The steak wasn't bad but the mushrooms/onions that I had added were less than desirable. The side of mushrooms was very good and the green beans weren't bad but probably wouldn't order them again. Overall great staff but only 4/10 food items that hit our table were any good. That being the 1 of the steaks, side of mushrooms, mozzarella sticks and ofc the rolls with butter/honey. I've been here overall 3 times throughout the past few years hoping it's gotten better, but it's still the same.

He had a turkey club and I had a turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain. For sides we had cucumber salad, potato salad, and mac & cheese. A word of surprise, the potato salad is served warm, but it was really tasty. The only disappointment was the mac & cheese, which was grainy and soup-like with very overcooked noodles in it. They had no discernible shape and almost seemed like egg noodles oddly enough. We enjoyed our drinks, sandwiches and salads very much.

Followed by a Monte Cristo. The bread was so light and fluffy. The saltiness of the meat with the sweetness of the bread and sugar with a little spread of raspberry preserves delighted the tastebuds. The side of fruit was large and seasonally appropriate. You order at the counter, where I think the owner was taking the orders and the accent definitely sounded authentic German like the name of the restaurant. She was lovely. Everything is made fresh so sit back and relax and the dining area is designed perfect for that with couches, cozy chairs and comfortable seats at the tables. I looked up what the name means: "Drachenfutter" is also a term used to describe gifts or treats that someone might bring home for their significant other when they feel guilty about coming home late or drunk. True to the "gift" part of the name, you can take yummy homemade treats home with you and they do have a section of gifts you can buy. A nice gem of a place along Historic Route 66.

It's the kind of joint where the atmosphere is thicker than a Sunday morning fog and the hospitality is warmer than a radiator in July. Since we're right there in the shadow of the fort, you'll find yourself rubbing elbows with all sorts of folks. They say you ought to eat where the locals eat, but in a military town, "local" is a relative term--most everybody there is from somewhere else, and they're all just passing through on Uncle Sam's dime. But at Hopper's, for an hour or two, everybody's treated like they grew up right down the street. If f you're looking for a cold beer, Hopper's has their own house brew on tap that's colder than a mother-in-law's stare. It's a sports bar in the truest sense--wall-to-wall TV screens making sure you don't miss a single down or a checkered flag. When there's a car show in town or a big game on, the place gets livelier than a porch dog with a new bone. Speaking of dogs there is a semi-permanent guest that stops by name of Norman. Pet him and you will have a friend for life. They aren't feeding birds here, friend. We're talking Burgers and fries of with tons of flavor. Sliders, cheesesteaks and wings, make sure you got extra napkins. I am not sure why but I think he also have vegetarian options. The staff is politer than a deacon on Sunday. They're attentive, friendly, and they treat travelers like they've lived in Waynesville their whole lives. Keep in mind they are pumping out a ton of adult beverages and food. A cold beer and a good burger are worth a five minute wait. Whether you're just passing through or you're a "local" who's only been in town since your last PCS, Hopper's is a solid bet for a good time and a full belly. It's family-friendly, high-energy, and highly recommended. And if you happen to be there when they break out the Bingo, hold onto your hat. They've got a unique set of calls and responses that'll frighten and amaze you the first time you hear 'em--it's somewhere between a drill sergeant's cadence and a tent revival, and it's worth the price of admission just to witness the spectacle.
