Since we are no longer in Cleveland and close to where we bought the car, we were directed to Jeff Schmitt South. This would easily be a 5 star review had I not had to call back twice. The first time I called was in November of 2014 to set up an appointment. The guy that answered the phone asked for the recall numbers, well I didn't know what those were and he proceeded to tell me that they should just be on the sheet you received in the mail. I couldn't find them anywhere and asked if I could just give him my husband's VIN number to see what recalls needed done. He rudely said no and "oh, by the way we are booked up until February" then transferred me to some lady who had no clue why I was being transferred. She then tried to put me in touch with a place in Xenia, which is 30 minutes away from me to set me up with an appointment, but never got a call back, like she stated I would. I waited until after Christmas and New Years and called back the first week of January. The lady I spoke with was very nice and explained exactly how many numbers I should be looking for on my paper and where they were located. She also was able to get me in a little over a week later to get the recalls fixed. When I mentioned what the guy told me, she apologized and said your probably got one of the lazy mechanic who didn't want to do anything. Drop off and pickup was very easy and everything was fixed that we needed. The last lady that I spoke with and how nice the people at the service center where saved them from getting a terrible review. A tip I could give Jeff Schmitt, would be to make sure all your staff is trained on customer service if they are going to be handle the phones and speaking with potential customers.

These are just a few words to describe this "business". Both the cars this place have sold me have been junk. When I took them in for service I was charged a hefty fee for a diagnostic. So I had to pay them to tell me what was wrong with the car they sold me. I should have known this place was shady when Steve V left it.

Earlier this week I had my Jetta in for a routine oil and filter change…read more All went well. It's an older Jetta and I'm fully aware it has some cosmetic issues and mechanical quirks. Before bringing it in I had zero oil leaks. Nothing. When the service was done I was told it has a "serious" vacuum pump oil leak. Which it did not have until bringing it in for service. I did not feel like paying $1,200 to have that repaired. As the car is running fine. Regardless of what they say. Today when pulling my Jetta out of my garage I see a small oil leak on the ground. I did not have an oil leak before this service. I'm not too pleased with the work that was done given that I did not walk in with oil leaking from my vehicle. Reading other reviews from the past few months here leads me to believe they are not caring as much as they used to about servicing vehicles. It would be nice if they could fix the leak I now have that I did not have before coming in. I too have had experiences with them giving me a laundry list to fix on one visit. Then the next visit they tell me everything is fine or don't say anything at all. My question is. If I fixed nothing from prior visits.... Where did the laundry list of issues go? Buyer beware.

Called the shop back told me to take pictures and bring the vehicle back in the next day.. When we got there Eric said there was no way they could have caused it and stormed off like a 3 year old child when we started asking questions.. Seems kinda guilty by reacting that way if you ask me. Then we spoke to Anthony and he talked us though what may have happened but still no resolution from then and denying any responsibility. I have recommend them for years this was my second car done by them and I'm extremely disappointed in how they handled this situation. I paid over $400 and that's how they treat a paying customer.. Would not recommend them at this point. Take your business else where if you value your money!! UPDATE in response to the shop.. this is exactly what Google reviews are for.. You have no claim against me. This is exactly what happened and how you chose to handle a paying customer. Looking forward to hearing from you. P. S. Would have been nice for you to share my photos I added to this review to your business Facebook page along with your response to this post about this review.. They made me purchase the extended warranty via a third party stating that the Gold package would cover everything. It dosent. They are now quoting me $11k for fix the issues. I did not make a purchase so in fairness let me start with that. I talked and texted with Kody…read morethere several times. He was nice enough and seemed sincere enough in his saying sorry several times. There was a new 2026 RAM internet price of $50,393. We talked and once we came up with a price agreement, he mentioned the internet price was wrong per sales manager and that price would cost them money. I mentioned I felt like this was predatory pricing and had seen other dealerships pull this and he said it was a mistake and the price should have been listed at $51,800. So, I was going to move on since was already frustrated with the whole deal. Well then, I get an email from the dealership saying now the price has dropped to $49,500. I contact Kody and ask how is that possible and he said it was corporate and he would see if they could sell it at that price. Again, this is $1000 lower than the price they couldn't do per manager as they were "Losing Money". He then sends me another work-up with those numbers and a price to which I ask about seeing it Monday. This occurred on a Friday. Monday comes and no answer. I text and he says he has been busy and then never responds. I asked then in text to just find out the price of this one or another one from manager, hoping for a shred of honesty. He never even responded and crickets from there. My guess is the truck either doesn't exist, or they were caught with their price fixing and lies saying they couldn't sell it at that price. I am guessing they wrote me off as difficult customer, or not a sucker and refused to even contact me. Again, I can't comment on if it's a good dealership overall, but if I ask if the internet price is right and the say yes and then play games and the salesman says he so sorry it's not him it's the manager is red flag. The price changed three times, and each time Kody said he couldn't be sorry. Maybe he meant it or maybe it's the salesman just playing the game. Either way shady to post or email prices that you are not intending to honor.

The car was supposed to be serviced for a PCM issue but, of no fault on their end, were unsuccessful. I only mention this because they still tried to charge me for the PCM claiming they couldn't return it after it was programmed (which failed everytime at ~50%), but they also didn't complete the work. I firmly asked why I would pay for something I'm not receiving, I had to sit down with the manager about this and explained that I didn't want to pay for something that we would not be leaving with. He took it off our bill and we ended up paying the diagnostic fee, rightfully so, as we requested it initially and did receive helpful feedback on the vehicle aside from the issue we brought to them originally. This didn't particular sit well with our advisor as he had made some very passive aggressive comments about it during check out saying "i don't know how you talked him out of that, since you agreed to the service and we can't return it so now we have to try and resell it" Respectfully, not our problem.. the dealership will make up the $200 in parts pretty quickly if they truly can't return it back to Honda of America. Some of the comments made by various members of staff (advisors and techs) were said in a tone that made it seem that our issue was too much hassle for them. While this was SUPPOSED to be a one day fix, it ended up being close to 10 days and we ended up leaving without a fix (again, not THEIR fault, the situation itself was just not worth repairing by the end of it). Through out the process they kept reiterating the amount of time spent on the car and how "the tech isn't being paid for his time", which if that's true, which im skeptical of... I'm sorry, but again, I brought my car here for a problem and shouldn't be made to feel like the bad guy. Personally, I felt more like an inconvenience to them more than anything. It's not unreasonable for a customer to ask questions about what's happening with the vehicle, and to feel like I'm the bad guy after talking with the staff seems a little unexpected. Now, some of the other advisors I had spoken with while waiting were very kind, I think overall there was a lot of anger or stress revolving around this unusual issue we were facing and it ended up being regurgitated onto us, which isn't fair to us as the customer. TLDR; Communication is eh, it felt like dealership vs customer a lot of the time. I probably wouldn't come back here personally, mostly because Germain is closer to me and I've enjoyed my interactions with them (and they're easier to get ahold of..), I don't know if we just caught everyone on a bad day or what but first impressions mean a lot to people, the first impression I got wasn't very great. I'm sure the work is great, the prices also weren't TERRIBLE. I'd say they're pretty fair, especially for work from the dealership. I'd say this is more of a 2.5/5

That kind of fee on top of charging top dollar for service from a huge dealership is practically usury. This isn't a mom & pop shop. I will be reconsidering before bringing my car back - not because of poor service, but because of the greed of their management!
