I just wanted a basic slice of pizza and this place rose to the occasion!! Rovente has a few locations and this one was easy to stop by. The staff was quick to take my order and pop the slices in the small oven warmer. They had more slice options than I expected, with fair prices and good size slices. I chose pepperoni and Margherita! More than thrilled that the guy really let the slices heat and crisp up! Perfecto! It made my day! Thanks :) The pizza is solid, but nothing to rave about. Their crust could be seasoned more, but I bet kids like it.

    Greek veggie. Yum Yum.

My brother in law recommended this place. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. This did not disappoint. I ordered on-line the Greek veggie. Everything tasted super fresh and came out 10 minutes earlier than promised. It was a Sunday night‐ but I can see why this place would be swamped. It had a well lit industrial vibe. There was counter seating, but we got it to go. Before leaving, I picked up a gift card to thank bro in law and sister for their hospitality. If I lived in Portland, I would be ordering here a lot.

Aww, a clean profile page with, what's that? Recent Interactions shows I got 237 views on my Gem Video Thread (and gained 0.02 IQ points)!

Excellent food! Dunno why it has only 3.8 stars, but this is the best damn pizza I've ever had. So much so I screenshotted it and made it a featured location in the mockup of the app I'm creating, Gem Hunt. Pepperoni Pizza only is my order! Thanks, Rovente Pizzeria, for basically saving my life by letting me leave a review like this here! I wish you the best. Until next time: Best Regards, samthecat6217

Rovente Pizzeria, your pizzas are delicious. I always find myself coming back for more! Whether I am attracted to your prices, enormous slices, yummy crust, or simply friendly service. Everything is just perfect. Open late on Friday and Saturday. What else can you ask for? Okay, fine- you got me. There is a catch or a few: parking can be difficult (street parking), limited seating, andddd I cannot remember if they have drinks besides water. However, they have STAMP CARDS- WIN! My personal favorite here: Hawaiian $4.50/slice. (Due to Covid - only serving by the slice from 12pm to 4pm until further notice)

Super delicious pizza with fantastic crust that is on the thinner side, but still soft. I got a 1/2 veggie and 1/2 pesto, with light cheese and no feta. My favorite ended up being the veggie! Both were stocked with a variety of veggies and actually look quite similar as you can see from the pictures. The reason I preferred the veggie is because the pesto was loaded with garlic that overpowered the flavor in my opinion. If you are in the mood for something garlicy, this is perfect but I was wanted to to taste the pesto more. The ranch is great and I loved dipping my pizza in it.

Pizza Week Review: 4 of 10 consecutive pizza slices Let this be known I have never eaten here outside pizza week! This is a pure review on pizza week, pizza week slices, pizza week prices, pizza week service, and I am going to keep saying pizza week, because their pizza week pizza was a bit... dare I say it... Pizza WEAK. I am not sure what all was going on here, the slice didn't pull me in like I hoped for. They had everything on paper that would make a great slice, but me, the wife, and my oldest were all... 'nah I am good with that' now I ate the whole slice, but I was still dreaming of the pizza stop before hand, and didn't like the overall taste profile. Now the crust and dough was good, and the pizza was done well, but the meat or maybe the sauce, just didn't add up. I hate to give a middle of the road review when they are doing something cool for pizza week, so... I will return ad try a standard slice soon and update this review to hopefully be mire positive.

5/5 pizza! I got half veggie & half pesto. The pesto had quite a bit of garlic! I happen to love garlic so if you don't beware. Crust was on the thinner side but not stiff. It was nice a soft and like 4:2 veggie to crust ratio. Huge variety of pizza flavors and cheesy bread and salad!!!!

I've been here a couple times in the past and have always liked it. I came here with a few friends for Portland Pizza Week and had their special hot Italian slice. So far this is my favorite slice for the week. The pizza sauce has a nice kick to it and so does the sausage. I think they should keep this permanently on the menu. The service was also great. They were super nice to us and didn't mind that we ordered a few slices and also brought them out to us. Overall - Great!

Delicious warm slices of pizza. Most pizza places in Portland have sucked so I said well it can't get worse than Scottie's pizza parlor. Thank pizza god this place was delicious. The staff wasn't very friendly but listening to them talk about how facial hair is generic and how mullets are coming back as we ate our pizza was pretty funny! The pepperoni was extremely flavorful. The cheese pizza was stringy how a cheese pizza SHOULD be. Great red sauce, not sweet but not acidic-y marinara. Very very good! The crust was crunchy and has delicious flavor as well. A perfect crunch with every bite. Definitely recommend this place. The price isn't too bad! But be warned, their coke selection is super limited.

    Pizza Week Vegan Slice!

I've been here a few times and really like the quality of their ingredients and their crust (mix of not too thick, not too thin, crispy, yet fluffy). Their flavors are usually pretty good even with combos you don't expect. Their vegan Pizza Week slice had a beautiful melange of flavors far exceeding any other vegan slice I've had. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. It is pretty limited for seating, but they have some outdoor seating, and if it's a nice day you can always just grab a seat wherever outside.

New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). So many times, what tries to pass off as "Detroit style" falls miles short. Then came "Ranch" where I stood outside and screwed up enough courage to try yet another Detroit style pizza. The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. My first bite brought a smile to my face, it was just, right in every way that a Detroit pie should be. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips. If all that was not enough, the service was friendly, the food came out so quick (about 10 minutes) and the place was nice and clean.

Had pizza from here twice during a long stay in Portland, and enjoyed it both times. The first time, we had a pepperoni pizza, a side of meatballs, and grape sorbetto. We liked the meatballs so much that, the second time, we had the Alley Kat pizza and, again, the grape sorbetto. The pizzas were both excellent--good crust with a great chew, good proportions for the toppings, and a cheese that tasted like cheese. (reductive? Maybe, but so much mozzarella is bland and rubbery that it seems worth mentioning.) The grape sorbetto was an excellent way to finish the meal both times: sweet, but not too sweet, and very bright to cleanse the palate.

Unfortunately, this was both our first and last visit. I don't think I've ever disliked a pizza before, but this may be the first one I would genuinely call bad. I enjoy wood-fired pizza and don't mind a little char, but somehow this pizza tasted noticeably bitter despite having very little visible charring. Whether it was the lack of sauce, the sauce itself being quite bland, or simply an imbalance of flavors, the end result just wasn't pleasant. The biggest issue is the value. A $25 cheese pizza doesn't need to be life-changing, but it should at least taste better than Costco's. In this case, unfortunately, it didn't. If your goal is to enjoy great pizza, I'd recommend one of the many other pizza spots in the area instead.

Current policy appears to be to not include any oil with the pizza (unless explicitly asked) and to only provide a maximum of two oils (even if multiple pizzas are ordered). I don't know if there is an oil shortage or what, but this is silly for a place that charges so much for their pizza. Life of Pie is a typical Portland restaurant that expects you to tip before you receive your food (and also expects you to bus your own table). To me, this expectation alongside with the inconsistency of the food for the price, is disappointing, and does not encourage people to go out of their way to return. When the food is good it is a solid place, however I would expect much more consistency for the price they command.
