I did not want to write this review because there is a lovely person who works in the nail salon named Linda. However, this place is horrible. They never honor a reservation you make. If it only happened once, I would not write this review. However, it happens all the time. You make a reservation. You ask them to verify that indeed this time is available and they say "yes". Then, you get there and more often than not, they say that they are sorry...someone came late, someone did not show, etc......and the wait time is not like 10 minutes late, it is more like 30-45 minutes because they took someone else in your time slot. Kamila's Skin Care is great for the price point. I saw this place on groupon and called and asked if I could get booked the same day as I was in desperate need of some extractions. The woman on the other end of the phone told me she would honor the groupon price and I could come in same day. When you first walk in it is a classic nail salon. But after going upstairs you'd be pleasantly surprised to see that it's a full service facial place as well. The woman (I wish I could recall her name) was so sweet and pleasant and cared about my skin a lot. She took her time cleaning out my pores and just really took her time going above and beyond what I paid for, doing a portion called "Ultra sonic" and using some cold metal device on my skin that emits a high frequency and kills bacteria. So I came up on this nail salon recommended by a friend, although she didn't tell me it was by appointment only, so I did a walk in and they were kind enough to take me (it wasn't too busy) but I felt like the technician wasn't too happy about it. I went for a Gel manni/regular Pedi, and although the receptionist was very friendly, the technician who too assisted me was very Unprofessional. From the moment I came in and said Good Morning, Anna just looked at me and walked me to the color selection, once I selected the color she told me to follow her. The whole time she had a face as if she was very upset. The worst part was feeling her bad energy thru the whole process. I have been to multiple Spa businesses and never had such bad experience. Greeting clients and instructing yourself goes a long way. its called common courtesy! Kamila's is my favorite place to get my nails done, but unfortunately they have been a hassle. On numerous occasions, they have cancelled my appointments last minute or asked me 30 minutes before my appointment to reschedule. They also have you pay upfront if you book your appointment on the website. On one occasion, I had to fight to prove and explain that I had already paid online. On another occasion, they refused to refund me after they cancelled my appointment, and I had to get my bank involved. It''s sad because they do a great job and have a clean facility, but I'm tired of dealing with the poor customer service. From now on, I'm just going to start calling to make my appointments. If you do give them a try, ask for Ana; she's the best! read more

I bought the Groupon for a gel manicure thinking it would turn out like other disappointing gel manicures I've bought from Groupon. Not this one!!! Best gel manicure I've ever had in my life. I've been telling all my friends to come here (even if they don't live in the area) because I've never had such a great experience. If you don't live on the UES, make the trek to get here! The gel stayed on my nails for over 2 weeks. No chipping, peeling, or cracking. While I was getting my nails done I noticed a lot of customers coming in for lashes which I've heard they do a great job here which I will probably try soon. I've gone to this place twice for eyelash extensions. My first visit was back in May of 2017 and I loved how they came out, received so many complements and looked very full for weeks. I returned for a second time in the beginning of November and it was a rushed job. I haven't even had them for a week and they're already falling out. It's even noticeable that they weren't glued properly. Every day I see random eyelashes all over my bathroom floor. I called to make an appointment for a touch up since it's clearly the way they were glued in and received no help and was told that they are booked and it's probably my fault and it's probably because of my makeup remover. I haven't worn any makeup whatsoever since I've gotten them. So now I need to find someone else to touch them up last minute since I leave for vacation tomorrow. I've been meaning to write a review for awhile. I found Kamila's via a Groupon for my eyelashes and wasn't really sure what to expect after going to all of the usual expensive and fancier eyelash salons. Let me tell you, it's my best experience. I've had eyelashes looking amazing after 3 weeks here and it's been a blessing. I lost my job and still looked good while trying to stretch the time between refills. It's a small place and only one person that does the lashes, I believe. I see the man and he's been so pleasant to see, and recommended some different lashes from the first set, which I love. Great place for eye lashes . Always look amazing. If you call ahead they can usually squeeze you in. The weekends are always busy . I have been to a few places and this one seems the most simple and down to earth . I just want to feel good and forget about my worries and getting my eyelashes extensions is such a relaxing process. I've been going to this place for at least a year. Kelly is great with nails and the only one I trust. She wasn't available this last visit, so I ended up with someone who only works there twice a week. From the start, she was not doing a good job. I had to do some of the filing myself and had to correct some of her mistakes (she messed up the polish on one of my fingers, leaving polish on her knuckle, and didn't think to paint it over ... I had to tell her). To make matters worse, I noticed on the way home that one of my thumb nails was not fully painted. And to top things off, although this is partially on me too, my toe nails were not fully dry so my socks left indentations in the paint. I'm giving them three stars because all of their technicians should be able to do a good job. If I go back, I'm only seeing Kelly. read more

I have gotten both my nails and lashes done here. My nails came out wonderfully, but the lash extensions made my natural lashes fall out. I've gotten Lash extensions elsewhere and never had this problem. Another Lash professional told me it was because they used too much glue. I felt like being pushed and got blamed for my hands not in the right position for her to put on the gel. Also no welcome or goodbyes by the staffs. Seems like a not welcoming store overall. I cannot believe I've been living two blocks away from this hidden gem of a salon for 2.5 years. Unless you're walking up 89th street you would never know this place existed... I found them off of Groupon as they were advertising their $43 special which includes a gel mani + regular pedi. This special is ALWAYS, not just with a groupon, so now I'm completely sold. I have recommended so many people to this salon because I truly think they do a good job, but my last visit there was sub-par. I waited 30 mins to be seen even though I had an appointment. The girl got some polish on my purse while she was doing my pedicure. I never complained once. I got a gel manicure on Thursday and before I left for vacation on Sunday 5 of my nails were already chipped. I had a gel manicure done before at Kamila's and truth be told it lasted 2-3 weeks. I'm not sure what happened this time. In addition, I sent an email to the salon documenting this and saying it was unacceptable and no one had the decency to email me back or call. This is great place for skin care! I got the deep pore cleansing facial with a Groupon for $55 and it was well worth it. According to the Groupon instructions, you were to call to make an appointment. I bought the Groupon last night and called this morning around 11:00 am and was able to score an 11:30 am appointment! I was seen less than 5 minutes after I walked in and my appointment was with Ms. Janna. She did a quick cleansing and consult of my skin before agreeing that a deep pore cleansing facial would be appropriate. She suggested I also do the add on package of the pore vacuuming but as it was my first time and I wanted to see how my skin would react, I elected not to. My facial was great and she really took her time with all the extractions. None were painful and she was really attentive to detail. She even did a hydrating treatment for me complimentary as she noticed my skin was a bit dry post-toning. The facility is clean and well kept. I originally heard about this place from a girl who does her lashes with Bella often and they always look fab. I found a Groupon for a set of glamour lashes for $75 and decided to make an appt. I did it through Yelp and it was very easy and straightforward. Alternatively you can also make the appt. through their website. The space itself is well located and everything seemed to be in order/clean. Bella works out of a small room in the second floor which was in order as well. I showed her a picture of what I wanted - a full wispies set which I thought could be achieved with the number of lashes the set included (240 as per the deal). She told me the set was going to end up looking like that anyways because it was one of the fuller ones. She also suggested that I get the mink lashes which was an extra $20 given that the Groupon only includes synthetic. I went ahead and agreed. I should've known I was not going to like the result when I noticed she was done within an hour whereas the appt. time stated it'd take an hour and 20 minutes+. The lashes are pretty but very far from what I wanted and what I showed her - not wispies nor voluminous at all, they're all a basic one length. After factoring what I paid for the Groupon, the extra $20, the $6 in tax plus the tip, I ended up spending more than $100 for lashes I don't even like. Although Bella herself was nice and so was the girl at the front desk, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience and will not be back. read more

This place is a hidden gem! I have been constantly looking for a good nail salon with decent prices since moving to NYC and most salons either did a horrible job or were very expensive. This place combines wonderful services that won't break the bank. The technician that has been doing my nails the last couple of times is amazing. She is extremely attentive and detailed. I normally don't do gel manicures because the gel chips off or it's too thick, but that's not the case here. Everyone has been complimenting my nails and they look very natural. I arrived on time and they ushered me upstairs to the no frills style room and had me lay down after receiving a towel. She tucked me in like a burrito and said she would be back shortly. Very Small! I felt the pedicure was rushed. When I try to communicate to the nail technician she barely talked back. She acted like she did not want to be bother. I had to tell her to clean underneath the nails, shape my nails better, and to top it off the lotion was still on my legs wasn't even massaged in. I have been doing lash extensions for years. I am still not sure what look I like. I seem to always go for the natural look. That is fine. Because I am blond, It does the job of making my eyes stand out and, of course, you don't need to use mascara. When I met Kuban, we talked out a more glamorous look. So I went with longer lashes, multiple lengths and a slight curve. This was definitely a different look and something I have to get use to when I look in the mirror, but I think I like it. Time will tell what my choice will be next time. In any case, I will come back to Kamila's. read more
