    Staph Infected ear

I had a series of 3 other piercings done here after my initial piercing. Customer service was great and the piercings healed nicely, until the last one. I got a staph infection after just 3 days. I had to go to my primary care doctor and they practically had to hold me down while I screamed in pain. All Rowan did was refer me to their customer service line. I emailed their nurse helpline before, and also visited the store to ask the nurses to evaluate if I should get the piercing removed. Both said they weren't sure, so the nurse consultation really doesn't amount to much other than "go see your doctor." I get that the folks in the boutique are separated from the corporate management but I asked for a refund since I got a STAPH INFECTION after 3 days and they just gave me the run around. I'm really disappointed because I loved the store and its concept. I want to be clear, I think the nurses are just doing their best, but just know that having a nurse pierce your ear does NOT guarantee prevention of infection. I'm very disappointed in their customer support's handling of this. I want to be clear that I saw other piercers, not Olivia for my subsequent piercings, so she's still awesome and my review for her still applies. This is a review for Rowan itself. Final update: finally emailed customer service from the website and got the piercing refunded. So, turns out the store manager here is extremely rude, but Rowan corporate made things right. I feel like they should have better communication on issues like this with their individual stores but want to be clear who has and has not helped me out here.

I came to this location due to the Google reviews and because they needlessly pierce, have titanium flat back barrels and 14k+ jewelry. This locations plaza has a lot of great shops and while the parking was plentiful, finding a spot was a little challenge due to weekend traffic and Central Market. I made an appointment beforehand and if you want to factor costs I suggest calling the location before going. It's been decades since my last piercing and this is not something my 16 year old self could have afforded. I chose needle piercing even though they offer gun, but I would never. After spending $35 per ear piercing and $69 per earring and $20 for aftercare plus tax I was in the $230 range. Be careful on the tip option, it adds on top of all purchased items and if you just want to tip for the service you will need to add it on the custom option. It was super quick. There's a chair to get pierced behind a wall and then two other chairs that are out in the open shop so if you prefer to have a little space to yourself, advocate for that. Jenny did my piercing she was nice and quick. I really loved their real gold jewelry options and the prices were decent, I think the benefit is seeing them in person me being able to see how they would look on you as opposed to ordering things online. Coming back in 30 to downsize and get another pair of earrings. The to-go bag was cute and has all the info you need for aftercare.

I 100% recommend this place. If you are looking for a place to ear pierced your baby this is a place to go. Great jewelry with good quality for your baby. Awesome customer service where they make you feel comfortable. Absolutely love it!

This was the earring back that was surgically removed.

However, this time was a lot different and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friend's birthday as well as fun items for myself. It seems like the selection has remained the same although Atown is keeping up with current and modern trends. For example, there were a lot of ICE based items tucked away as well as current celebrity crushes who are on everybody's minds. The coolest thing I found was a James Talarico candle but other than that, a lot of the items that were for sale were pretty kitschy and I believe they are the same wholesale items I have seen before. I must shoutout the incredibly helpful service from Audrey who went above and beyond to help me find items for my friend's birthday. She was super sweet, and I would've been wandering around the store aimlessly if it wasn't for her direction. Additionally, she even came up with combination gift ideas which was pretty sick. Atown is lucky to have her! I think my PTSD is no longer because of her assistance. Great store, unfortunately high prices. However, no one does it like Atown!

There are 3 or 4 separate areas you can visit and they have things from locally made earrings and art to coasters, desk plates, rubber ducks of famous people, religious candles with random famous people, funny socks, clothes, and so much more. The staff is friendly and outgoing, they even had a woman at the door greeting you and offering you a hand basket if you wanted or needed one. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and at least one lady walking around greeting you and seeing if they could help. It is pricier then your chain store but the products are cooler, unique, and many times locally made. Things you can't get at other stores or amazon. Like so many places, it's one downside is parking. It is a small lot, if you part in front you basically have to back in to spot blocking traffic or back out into traffic. There is a small side lot that is better but you basically have to 3 point turn out of that spot. Always willing to pay a bit more to support local. We don't get out of our area/comfort zone much but we do love this place. #Supportlocal

The dresses are all handmade and artisanal or whatever, but this five-star review is for the amenities. First of all, the panhandlers who love to harass and congregate outside the CVS haven't followed me into the store here, so the hobo shielding is strong with this one. The seating arrangement is also exquisite--the perfect iPhone Throne for, let's face it, probably dudes like me who wouldn't have come here on their own accord. Since it's a single-seater (with an ottoman!), the capacity is far more limited than the long bench at Outdoor Voices, so if you and I end up here at the same time, we'll need to fight for it. No face shots, please, and leave my Yelpin' hand be.

The dresses mostly run over $100 and aren't exactly my style. The prints are mostly fun and colorful and almost 60s-70s ish. I found their sterling silver jewelry and earrings to be more interesting. They had lots of unique flower shaped earrings that ranged around $32-44. They also sell kids clothes and gifts. The interior was a little dark. The dresses were mostly made of stretchy or comfy fabric. The dresses are more casual in nature (wrap dresses, summer dresses). They also sold bathing suits for around $80. I don't know if the bathing suits are made in-house.
