We had a wonderful experience here. My daughter initially said she wanted her ears pierced when she was 8, but decided to get it done a year early. We discussed it and I asked a few friends where would be the best place to go. In my youth, I've gotten most of my piercings at jewelry shops with a gun. I know you can now get piercings done by a nurse which is way safer, and what we were looking to do. Rowan came highly suggested by several friends. We were waiting until the end of summer and happened to walk right past Rowan at The Westchester Mall, during an unrelated visit. We decided to get some info ahead of making an appointment. The employee with whom we spoke explained what to expect on the day of her appointment as well as the difference between having a device piercing and a needle piercing. Device piercings seem quicker and less scary, but needle piercings are far more precise and heal better. In the end she decided on the needle piercing. She also picked out the earrings she was going to get on the day. Today was our appointment and she was super excited. Nurse Julia was very sweet, calming and patient. She explained exactly what would be happening, took her time with each step, and made my little big girl feel very confident in her decision. The nurse marked the area and prepped her ear for the needle. Papi held her hand while I recorded the event for prosperity, along with providing words of encouragement. Each piercing went smoothly and my kiddo didn't even flinch. She was very brave and was able to handle the discomfort of having a needle shoved through her earlobe. There were three sisters getting their ears pierced at the same time as our kid, and each one screamed bloody murder. My kid was a trooper and didn't let the outside noise phase her. I was definitely one proud mama. After all was said and done, her new look was revealed, and she was very happy with the outcome. We were given a bottle of hypochlorous spray and aftercare instructions before paying. My kiddo even received a certificate of bravery for how much of a big girl she was today. It was the icing on the cake. I may be back for my own tragus or helix piercing. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but I stumbled upon some and just want to give my input - nurse Jen Is PHENOMENAL.... Explained everything to me. downsized a couple of my piercings that I got done in rowan larchmont (3rd lobes and conch) and has been nothing but pleasant both times that I've seen here and very informative. She also was very patient and most recently when I got my flat and felt dizzy after was beyond helpful. For reference - she pierced my tragus, midway & flat. :) read more

The initial person that greeted us and checked us into our appointment was extremely sweet and informative. My daughter was getting a piercing and she quickly put her at ease. Things went downhill fast after that. We had Nurse Jen for the piercing. She was impatient, rude, and treated all questions with disdain. When we were examining the marker spot before the piercing, she huffed and puffed and muttered that she would move it if we wanted it to be wrong. Her attitude was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I felt compelled to share my experience and it's incredibly disappointing to see that others have posted similar feedback before me yet nothing has been done to rectify the problem. read more

I went to Rowan with my sister and friend. The nurse who pierced my sister and I was very nice - sweet as can be... But, the nurse who pierced my friend was not... Immediately, she had an attitude with my friend... It was really strange... She pierced my friend and my friend bled a lot- so much so that the blood went into her ear and clogged her eat ... The nurse who did it didn't even apologize for it or comfort her in any way... Recently, I downsized three piercings with the same nurse my friend had, but I had to go back because one of the piercings she downsized still felt too loose. I don't have to tell you that when I went back she immediately had an attitude... I don't get it but whatever... At first she said that when she downsized me she gave me the shortest post but then when she looked at it she said she didn't and that she could give me a shorter post... Fine, but it does not feel any shorter at all!!! Which brings me to the person who had me go online to register an appointment because she wanted to charge me an additional $25 dollars for the new post. That brings me to $50 to just change a post. Are they serious? They act as if they own the place and don't just work there... This might work for them and their employer but I will never recommend them to anyone I know... But, I am speaking of only the White Plains location. If the owners read this threads I think it's time you remove these employees. I wouldn't want them to represent me. read more

The nurse Jen was very rude and dismissive. I've gotten my tragus pierced 7 months ago. I returned twice to downsize and she told me nope not ready yet it's still swollen it takes along time to heal even after the dates she wrote on the card. I've done everything at caring for my piercing for her to tell me today I have an irritation bump because the post wasn't downsized. I removed the piercing and she attempted to put it back in less than 24hrs the piercing she claim is closed she can going in through the front but not the back because I explained she pierced it at an angle and or it migrated that way. She told me she wouldn't pierce me if the anatomy wasn't good and walked away rolling her eyes to the back. My husband stood there in disbelief asking now what... As a healthcare professional such as her for 19 yrs I was shocked and the front desk girl was no better in assisting she was in the back and stated she didn't hear her say much wrong and she would not have pierced me if ai didn't have the anatomy for it... So nice, professional and helpful! Jennell pierced my 4 year old daughter's ears and she didn't even feel it (no tears!). One of the earrings fell out a few months later, I went back the next day and Jennell replaced the earring within in minutes(again no tears). Highly suggest going to this Rowan location and ask for Jennell! read more

The nurse Jen was absolutely disrespectful and rude. She was upset my granddaughter was crying when she had to mark her ears, kept sighing and mumbling. And then asked me to hurry to check out because I was in her way. read more
