This all involved a very substantial amount of Money that was going to be put into our home. Dave came back with a very fair estimate and that is why we chose his company to proceed with the work. After about a month of working with his crew, he became somewhat defensive on when we would present to him areas that we were concerned with and dissatisfied with the work that was in place. Each time he expressed that his crew would be back out to correct the issues. A couple of times he did in fact come back and the issues were somewhat taken care of, however, he was supposed to come back to complete our backyard to put in place the artificial turf. Evidently with us expressing some dissatisfaction with the work that had already been performed, must have upset him to the point where now he will no longer return our calls nor will he repair the issues that we had expressed to him We had also noticed that some items that we bought (such as low voltage wire) that we wanted the crew to install, and when only one side of the house was completed and they stated that they were out of the wire, when we showed the receipt of the quantity purchased which was more than enough to complete the entire job as quoted by Dave. So we did go out again and purchased additional wire to cover the short fall, again purchasing more than what was required to complete the job and that excess had also disappeared. We noticed that there was also small landscaping hardware missing. This not only happened not just once but twice. When we voiced this concern to Dave (the owner), he laughed and stated that one of his crew members was good at taking little items from job sites. Thought he would have been more upset about the situation, but he made a joke of it. We approached him numerous times about the repairs and also for the top of the outdoor island to be sealed, again he never called back nor showed up to finish the job. Do not go with this company unless you want your job half done or really don't care about the quality of work that is being done. If you voice some dissatisfaction with the work that had been done, his attitude will change and will no longer continue with the job. We are at this time, considering filing a complaint with the ROC, reason being, to fix the issues that were brought to his attention will cost an approximately $2500 to complete. And we are also working with other contractors to complete the jobs that he seems to not want to do, nor at this point, do we want him to do.

Thomas Cary Design did a very large backyard remodel for us (100K). His design and understanding…read moreof how we use the space was great. We went with him because of his innovative ideas and creative design structure. The yard is beautiful, but it took much much longer than was quoted, is not fully done and has many issues that are apparently not Cary's problem. First we were supposed to start January of 2021 but we were delayed due to rain. Then a crew came and demo'd the yard which began our 9+ months of living in dust. Once the work began there would only be a crew of 2 or 3 guys working on this project. Why the irrigation team and the stone layers etc can't work at the same time is unknown to me other than Cary has his team spread thin on many jobs. We ordered a hot tub when he told us we should and it sat for months waiting to be put in. Fast forward to October when things are still not done. I am only able to get this project wrapped up because I created a list and contacted Cary repeatedly to get things done before we had a party. Once the project was "complete" we were still missing two pergolas that Cary had us pay for up front. We basically had to threaten legal action to get our money back for those items. I understand the supply chain was wonky at the time, but I don't like giving someone 16K and having nothing to show for it. Now fast forward a year and a half later and you can see that the quality of the work is lacking. Pipes are starting to stick up, the quality of the tree he brought is sub par, electrical lines are showing, lights around the hot tub are flashing AND the best part is when we told him they didn't create a dedicated line for the pots on the porch (something we REALLY wanted) he told us he would have to dig up the yard--again! We no longer expect him to do anything but we also have no product information on the lights or other systems he purchased and put in so if they do stop working we're left guessing. I feel that Cary is a good designer, but he needs someone to manage his projects for him so he can do what he is good at. The execution and follow up area at a level that I do not find acceptable for the amount of money he charges.

So much so that my husband and I spent time trying to sweep the bottom and strain out debris. They got several rocks in the pool that had to be removed by my husband getting into the pool. Not something you want to do after work on a hot day, clean up someone's mess. We spoke to Ricardo and upon hearing of our dissatisfaction, agreed to return part of our money. We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise!
