Horrible experience at this nail salon. I called on a Friday morning for an appt. For manicure and pedicure. They were completely booked for Friday but was given an appt. For Saturday at 1:15. For some context I am staying at the Hotel Convord next door so this was the first and only salon I called. When I arrived for my appt. The two women that greeted me proceeded to tell me they did not have my appt. On the books and that I must have called a different salon. They both tag teamed me with questions, who did you speak with male or female, check your phone for number etc.. no apologies nothing. They were fully booked. I am in town for an event and know for a fact this was the only salon I called and wrote time etc.. down as I was on the phone. I completely understand that mistakes happen but to grill me in front of other customers is beyond rude. Awful people. read more

I went to Roy nails and spa today for a little self care and while they were so very gracious for accommodating me for a mani and pedi despite not having an appointment, sadly I will not be returning. My pedi came out great however, the ombre full set I asked for did not. I am sure that not all the nail techs there are incapable of doing ombre nails correctly but the one who did mine definitely had no idea what he was doing. Not only did they have the audacity to still charge me $100 (total of mani and pedi) for the horrible job after I made it known that I was very dissatisfied but the nail tech went as far as to blame me for the colors I chose being difficult and his bad work! I immediately drove over to A polished Nail and had to pay another $50 for them to fix Roy's blunder. I am so very disappointed to say the least. The hot pink ombre (if that's what they call ombre) is Roy Nails and Spa's work, the other pic is the fix up done by A polished Nail. If you go to Roy's, ask for ombre at your own risk! Or you can go to A Polished Nail and avoid the headache all together... UPDATE: I called and asked to speak with the manager about a refund of the manicure. Instead of apologizing and refunding to make the situation right with a customer for bad work, I was literally told that the colors I chose (pink and white) were difficult to blend, that my expectations were unrealistic and that the nail tech that did my nails has 30 years of experience and is their best nail tech...not only are those statements completely untrue and rude but if the picture I posted is any representation of the work done by their "best nail tech with 30 years of experience", I'd say don't waste your time and money going to Roy nails and spa! They should be embarrassed.. read more

I tried this place out a few times, giving it the benefit of the doubt. Keep in mind, I will only speak up if my experience is either really good-or really bad and worth someone else knowing. Sadly this place turned for the worse. First visit; New nail tips! Everything started out great....atmosphere was good, patrons were pleasant, parking was easy (there is a small shopping plaza across the street from the salon if you can not find a spot with a parking meter close by.) Everything was going well until the owner sliced my finger with a nail file while filing down my new set of tips...I kept quiet as I bled for about 10 minutes (deep cut) while he tried to stop the bleeding with gauze...extremely painful, no apology. "Ok, this could happen anywhere I am thinking." It has happened to me before at another local salon and needless to say I never went back-however...I wanted to try this place again because I liked how my nails looked after I left. 2nd time..the atmosphere seemed a little "tense." Although I left happy with the way my nails looked, during the time I was there one of the owners actually seemed annoyed that the phone kept ringing as she was with a customer. Following this visit..after the 3rd day my polish started peeling on almost every single nail-and the gel chipped off on one of the thumbs....this is on a GEL fill. OK, I'll give it one more time...because I really like the way my nails looked during the first few days. Maybe it was a just a fluke. Maybe they used an old bottle of gel and they didn't know how old it actually was. 3rd time was a doozie. Not only was I spoken down to by one of the owners for asking a random question about their parking situation (seriously embarrassing me in front of my kid as well as other patrons...talking to me like I was a little child...) I left feeling so embarrassed, belittled and just horrified. Here I am again.... not even a week later.. with my GEL nail fill once again chipped after a week. Chipped off by the cover of a plastic storage bin!? Needless to say I will NOT be going back. read more

I was a loyal customer to Roys when I lived in Concord 5 years ago. Veronica & Roy treated me like family and always walked out happy with the services rendered. After 5 years I am back in Concord, and returned to Roy's yesterday. They remembered me after that long, and provided me with a warm welcome into the salon. I love the vibe here, the friendly staff, and the quality of the services. 10/10 recommend and I am so glad to be back in Concord & going back to my FAVORITE nail salon & spa. read more

The tech who did my pedicure was rude. I believe there to be a language barrier, but if you're going to work with the general public, at least learn to present yourself in a respectful manor while providing a service. The girl at the front spoke English very well, but seemed rude while speaking to a group of younger girls, which I didn't appreciate. I think their services are extremely over priced especially for the attitude that comes with them. I will not return. I'm unsure of how they won the " Best of Concord..." awards. Started coming here years ago when they were originally on Main St in Concord and I always leave with pretty nails. Veronica and Roy are SO pleasant. Do not forget to make an appointment though because you'll end up holding up the line if you constantly walk in, which de-prioritizes everyone with appointments :). I am so happy with the service! Since I moved to New Hampshire from California I haven't found a place that was good. Every other place I had gone to didn't do what I asked cut my fingers with the drill and nail file. My friends told me to go to Roy's. I love getting my nail done and since I all the experiences I had since moving here were horrible I had given up. But I took there advice and went! I was help right away. I loved that the place was very spacious and the music in there was relaxing. I got a pedi and a full set. I got my pedi done first the gentleman who did my pedi was very polite. Everything was very clean they wore glove and the tools they use where package which is great for sanitary reasons. The gentleman who did my full set (I think he was the owner) came over while I was getting done with my pedi to ask how I wanted my nails. I showed him a picture and he came back with colors and showed me ones that matched the one in the picture but he also told me which one he thought would make it stand out. I love when they help you like that it show they care and want to give you the best look they can. Once I was done with my pedi which by the way was very relaxing. He did such an amazing job!! The gentleman who did my nails took his time and was very careful not to cut my fingers which was awesome!! He was very attentive and would ask if the nail size was good and if it looked good. The color he recommended was beautiful I was very happy. I kept telling him how happy I was. I was very very pleased with the quality of work! I'm very happy I went there! Roy did my nails today, and they came out beautiful! He was very precise and treated my nails with care, they've never been so perfect anywhere I've gone before. The whole staff was very kind and welcoming, and knew exactly what we wanted! My mother and I both got full set manicures w/gel and french pedicures, and between both of us it was only about 150! which is insane, considering the places we usually go are around 70 for a full set and gel. This is my FAVORITE place to go for pedicures. I can be very picky because I expect a lot when I get serviced but I always go for the deluxe or fabulous pedicure. 90% of the time I go to Roy's for pedicures and the other 10% of the time reminds me why I like Roy's the best. I always get top of the line service, and I never feel rushed through like an assembly line. Today I was lucky enough to meet Anna who will forever be my FAVORITE gal! My mother in law joined me on this trip where I left the initial review. I'm back to visit only to see she has been at her doctors to get the infection handled in her finger from cutting too much cuticle in her thumb. This was from 4 months ago! She still can't get a manicure due to the healing process. Be careful people! Chop shop. Literally. Not bad at all for a $15 manicure. Not the best I've had, but just fine for what it cost; no bells and whistles. People were nice enough. Color selection was minimal and very old looking for being a newer establishment. So not sure where those colors cane from. Bottom line, bring your own color and get a decent manicure read more

Poor pedicure and manicure. The pedicure was over priced and he did not spend much time on my feet. The trimming of my toe nails (after telling him not to trim too much) are short, it hurts! The massaging part of my feet was 1 minute, literally. Before painting my toes he took the nail equipment he used on my feet out back and returned with nail equipment packaged and put in the top microwave, not the microwave underneath that says sterile. I thought the nail equipment was new but it is recycled. So disgusting!! I hope they are knowledgeable with sterilizing properly. One base color was applied. No communication with me just speaking to a woman coworker in another language and laughing. Obvious I am thinking it's about me or thinking it's the other person I'm next to who's getting a pedicure. Not many colors to choose from either! My Manicure was rushed as well and my nails look awful. One base color was applied. The guy was not friendly and made me feel uncomfortable as he was rushing through my manicure. An hour after my appointment nail polish area is already chipping off. Over priced and I will not be a returning customer and will deal with the nail polish already fading and chipping off instead of returning and receiving unsatisfying customer service and work. I've been coming to Roy's for a few months. After trying almost every salon in Concord, my friend recommended this salon. The salon itself is pleasant. Roy and Veronica and their family offer very good services and a nice personal touch. My nails now look great! Pedicures are done taking the staff's time, you never feel rushed. I gave this place several tries, both in their old location and the new one. First, they charge $35 for a basic pedicure. My pedicures always last a long time, but not here - the polish chips within 3 days! All of you ladies who get pedicures know that is completely unheard of. There is a much nicer and cleaner place in town that charges $28 and does a far better job. Second, be ready to get chastised by the mean daughter (there is a nice one and a mean one) if you forget cash for a tip. I usually make the point that, if you want a tip, you'll run it on my card. Otherwise, you get nothing because I'm not going to the ATM just for your tip. Lastly, the atmosphere can get awkward - one of the daughters is always publicly arguing with her father in Vietnamese. My acrylics always look great when I leave and if I have an issue with the way a nail looks, they are more than willing to fix the issue. Got a manicure, I have never experienced so much pain and discomfort while having a manicure. He was so aggressive while trimming my cuticles and then one of them started to bleed. Instead of being more gentle it kept going as is and in total 5 of my cuticles were bleeding. My fingers are sore of the touch today, and my cuticles are red and inflamed. I will never go back to this place and I do not recommend it. read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have more good reviews! I've been trying to find a good, clean nail salon in Concord and this is it! Very quick, clean, accommodating and I was impressed with my nails. I got a basic French shellac and it was a low price (same as what I have paid at other places). The location is kind of hidden, but once inside it looks like and old school brick building with high tin ceilings, which I found to be really cute, and they have lots of new flatscreen tvs. I will be going back here. read more

Went with my sister to get pedicures but didn't make a reservation. After waiting for a bit I felt uncomfortable with the comment they made when I said I didn't have a reservation. After trying to leave to find another place they said "no. Now you're mixing me all up" with a very mean tone. I sat and finished my pedicure which was good and noticed they were also having a tone with another costumer when her nail shape wasn't what she asked for and given a file to do it herself(her face was very red and embarrassed). After being told 15 minutes, it was an hour wait which is fine, I understand if they're busy. Once I got called, however, it was the longest nail appointment I've ever experienced. I had Roy doing my nails, and apparently he is the only one that can answer the phone, take payments, or issue gift cards because he was constantly getting up to go do other things. The final straw for me was when someone came in that needed one of their acrylics replaced and he told me to wait as he went to do that, which is a 10+ minute job. I finally spoke up at that point and told him I couldn't (wouldn't) wait for that (there were at least 5 other people working that I could see) especially because all he needed to do was paint my acrylics at that point. I get my nails filled regularly and never imagined it would take close to 3 hours. On top of that underneath my acrylics look sloppy and one of them is glued to my skin. Needless to say, I won't be back. After less than a week, two of my acrylics have now broken, and the skin all around me nails is peeling. Seriously, don't get your nails done here read more

It's hard to find a good nail salon in NH. I live between here and NYC so I have had my fair share of nail salons. I have been looking for years for a quality salon in NH and have tried various places all over southern NH. Roys surpasses them all by far. They have a great selection of colors, pay attention to detail and have a excellent salon environment and are always friendly. I only gave this place one star because that's the only way I could write a review, it deserves NONE. The OWNER himself took care of me. He dug into my nails THREE times with the drill both times I addressed him until the third time I ended up in tears and he blamed it on "whoever did my nails before". I told him to stop drilling and just do a fill. He did the fill then went to file them down AGAIN w the drill making me yell a FOURTH time because he drilled so far down. I had looked online and it said $17 for a regular fill. He charged me $32 AFTER I was vocal about him hurting me FOUR times!!!!!!! And putting me to tears!!! I will NEVER go here again and I hope no one else does. I've been getting my nails done for 7 years and I know things can happen but not from an OWNER himself, or FOUR TIMES!!! They were being extremely rude. Also she cut my pinky pretty bad. Very disappointed with the service. I got a pedicure and the technician did not say a single word to me the entire time. She rushed through the leg massage, painted my nails, then walked away. After sitting about 20-25 minutes, I noticed she was working on a different client. I finally asked the technician next to me if I was good to leave. I then went to pay at the counter and the owner greeted me as if I was a new customer. I stood there for multiple minutes with no one making any attempt to take my payment. I finally said to anyone that would listen, "Can I please pay?" My technician finally came over and took my payment, thanking me; the only words she said to me the entire time. I find it funny how it's called Roys Nails, yet Roy has no clue how to do nails. I tried being nice and asked him to fix my nails that he had somehow turned into sharp stiletto. When asked to put acrylic on the edges to fix the shape he told me "no can do, your nails are naturally pointy like that." He then continued to tell me that I look like a sad girl! One of the girls working there apologized for his behavior and was an incredibly sweet and offered me a free pedicure. The prices there are good but the service needs to be fixed. read more

I've been here only two other times and it's been a good experience. The last time I went in, I tried their new dip powder for my nails and the color I chose, I didn't like. So I asked my technician if I could choose another color. She said no, I'd have to wait 24 hours to let it set. I live 45 minutes away, I didn't want to drive back the next day to get it taken off but I just sucked it up. She suggested I cover it with a different color, which I agreed to. The color was the same I usually get so that's fine. When she filed my nail down to put the final top coat on, she filed too far down on a few of my nail where it took off both colors on my nail. She had to start the whole process again on those 4 nails. I've been here now for almost an hour an a half. When she finished my nails, they were bumpy, very thick, not the shape I wanted (after requesting for a different shape more than once) and you could see where she fixed it because it was about 3 shades darker on my nails. I left just tired and angry. I came back the next day with my nails still the same and my top coat peeled off within the first hour I left. I walked in and talked to the woman who did my nails the previous day and she sat me down. The owner came over and asked what the problem was. I explained it to her and apologized and said she would fix it. All she did was put a new top coat on. While I was under the light, she was complaining the woman next to me how busy she was and she never have time to do anything. Isn't being busy a good thing..? And then she continues to complain how frustrating walk ins are. I was a walk in. Made me feel VERY uncomfortable. I left even more mad and uncomfortable. I went to another nail salon and they were in shock how bad my nails looked, and how "messed up your nails look". Needless to say I will NEVER go back to Roys. read more
