High prices, unfriendly office workers who will yell and lie and hang up on you, repeat fixes constantly. Sloppy drywall/stucco holes for others to fix, cement patches for sewer lines fall apart, workers charge even if the line wasn't clogged, such as garbage disposal hose smells, but pipes clear. If you are allowed to read the bill because they are in a hurry, you will notice padded time. They will even charge for something they forgot to do Used to refer. Didn't work out once Even had one who said you don't need this dishpan and walked away with it full of old parts. read more

Update: water heater that had issues just needed a warranty replacement part. These guys charged around 200 first time to "fix" the problem then when the water heater was still not working came back to "fix" the problem again for an additional 400 dollars. Had another plumber from a reputable company come to take a look at it, saw the receipts and said these guys didnt do anything to fix the problem. Stay far away from these guys!!! read more

Water was leaking through a bathroom wall into an adjacent closet. I certainly didn't know the specific cause. Mario and his assistant came out, created a small opening in the closet wall and identified a broken thread in the extension pipe from the shower head, which was where the water was leaking. The two plumbers were clean, courteous, and competent, and also replaced a bathroom sink faucet set we needed replaced (we already had the parts). We're happy with the work. read more

They came for a repair and left a sewer cap off. Our home's entire bottom structure was flooded with raw sewage. They refused to take any responsibility and were very belligerent when I called them. I had to pay another company thousands of dollars to clean it up and make things right. Needless to say I will never call them again. read more

This company is the worst! They are completely unprofessional and do not respect your home at all. Every time they come, they leave a huge mess with spackle, screws and nails all over the floor (some of which you don't find until you step on them!) One time, they came only to assess a problem without doing any work. After they left, I saw they somehow managed to drop 3 or 4 nails on my floor! They are extremely rough and ALWAYS damage my furniture, walls, and floors. One time, already knowing the damage they were capable, I even moved everything far away to give so they had a 10 ft diameter of clear space to work in. Even still, they found a way to severely chip a piece of my furniture that was completely on the other side of the room. The guy was keeping his hammer under my dresser and when he went to set it down, he took a chip out of the bottom! When I called to complain, the representative was extremely rude. He did not apologize. Just heard what I had to say and said he would look into it. Never got a call back. To finally top off the long list of damage they caused to my home, there was a leak under my sink they assured me that they "completely fixed". The photos I attached are their idea of a "completely fixed" leak. They just stuffed paper towels around the pipe! I had someone else come to look at it (after Roy Neilson Plumbing assured me again over the phone it was completely fixed), and the other plumber told me it absolutely was not fixed at all. It had been leaking into walls for weeks at this point, causing a major mold problem worth thousands of dollars in damage! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this amateur company! read more

BEWARE! This Company is the worst rip off in the Valley. I had a main line blockage in December. The first person to show up could not clear it. The second person, with a larger rooter, claims he cleared it. I was charged an outrageous amount, nearly $400, for both workers' time. After about 10 days, the area near the clean out began to stink like raw sewage. After a few more weeks, the stink got worse and began to be quite repulsive and noticeable in our house. We called, they came back out. Refused to accept any responsibility for the problem, ran the rooter again for 15 minutes, refused to clean up the raw sewage seeping under our house, and charged us $110 more. DO NOT GET RIPPED OFF. I had to replace a toilet, and called Roy Neilson Plumbing. I spoke with Frank who, without haste, recognized what was needed, and told me that he would have someone out immediately, which he did. Andrew came and checked and measured the toilet which required replacement. Andrew then said that he would be back within 1/2 hour to an hour. It was absolutely amazing, that not only was he back so soon, with the replacement, but immediately went to work. In no time at all, he had finished the job, cleaned up the area, and was finished. Not only was Andrew so efficient in performing the work, but very kind and personable. We are in the process of refurbing a rental house and needed several plumbing things done. Jerry came out right away to look at the job and give us a quote. He estimated things as he looked at them and then got back to us with a firm quote within a couple hours. The prices were very fair (a few of the bigger companies we looked at were double). He had a crew out the next day to complete the job. We ended up adding a few things and his team took care of it all. The water heater was leaking at the drain, and they repaired it vs replacing!! No price gouging, no issues, super clean work. We will keep this company in our records for any future needs. read more

As a previous building manager, I can personally say that Roy Neilson will always be there for you. Wasn't one time my calls went un-returned, though in 99% of the cases, my calls were answered immediately to begin with, yes, even at the horrid hour of 5 in the crack AM, Jerry walked me through shutting the water main off over the phone. I have had Roy Nelson plumbing come to my house to do some extensive Plumbing work. I caught one of the workers sniffing my daughter's underwear and in one of the bathrooms that they were working in. When I caledl the owner first I talk to the wife Diane and she said she's never heard of such a thing. I then talked to her husband Jerry and he said he's never had an incident like this before so they didn't even apologize... they could care less and they're very unprofessional.I would use other people if I were you. Plus, their workers are very disgusting as far as working in a family home. If I could give them -5 I would. These guys replaced a water heater for me just over a year ago. Paid 2300$, the unit is leaking now and I needed their help getting it back to work. They are ripoff-con artist. They wanted to charge me a 89$ service call on a job they did. That is now failing. The man I spoke to was supremely rude and condescending. Yes, I know squat about plumbing, I chose literature and music over pipes and going under houses. This man was so rude and even said "I'm not raising my voice, would you like me to raise my voice?" You don't want me to raise my voice" this is poor business and very poor skills. I remind my self that we all a purpose in this world, Neanderthals will be whatever will be. I just don't see how a company can run with people who are just not very good with people skills. Called another plumber and would rather pay triple than to give this business entity my money. I was between a 3 and a 4 star review on this one. The work was great and I just needed to get some pipes sweated and moved. It ended up being 2 hours of work and their rates are very competitive for the quality. When the plumber arrived at 9:45 (He was supposed to arrive between 8 and 10) I made a comment about when he had arrived. When I got the bill he tried to make it seem like he had worked an extra 30 minutes and had the arrival time down as 9:30. I called him on it and he was pretty cool and took it off, but just keep an eye on the clock when your plumber arrives and make that be known. Otherwise I would hire them again. read more

I dont know where to begin. I had a slab leak 5 days before my escrow was supposed to close and on a Saturday to boot. They sent someone immediately and another person to find the leak. This company doesnt waste time and is EXTREMELY customer oriented. Needless to say that they fixed my leak and did a beautiful job with new copper plumbing. I had Roy Neilson Plumbing out to fix or replace a drippy water filter. Pretty simple. They guy they sent out told me he had to take it out entirely because it could not be fixed (turned out to be BS). After an hour under my sink he got the drip to stop and left my house. I went about my day, and ran some errands. Came back to my house hours later to find my kitchen floor covered in water. He had caused a real leak. Not only did Roy Neilson not take any responsibility, they tried to charge me for the return visit to shut it off properly. They caused a ton of damage including a wall that needed to be replaced and cupboards that needed to be refinished. THE MANAGER IS A CROOK. DONT USE THESE GUYS. read more

I contracted for work they didn't finish even though I paid in full and they promised to come back. Now my calls and texts are ignored. Apparently the owner got into a spat with his own sub-contractor and decided to punish me for having no part in their childish spat. BUYER BE AWARE, if I could rate them -5 I would. I own a condo in Encino. They were hired to investigate a leak in the garage below my unit. The association called me and asked if the plumbing company can check the piping in the unit. After Roy Nielson made a hole in the wall underneath the sink they realized the problem is with the bathtub. The plumber admitted to my tenant it was not necessary to put a hole in the wall. To make a long story short they billed me $111 to inspect the pipe in the garage, $200 to put a hole in the wall & $200 to repair the hole. After all these expenses they wanted $475 to repair the bathtub overflow. I had my home warranty with a $60 deductible to investigate or repair the bathtub overflow. They said there was no problem with it, they only had to clean some hair in the over flow drain pipe. I would not use them if they were the only plumber in the world. They will rob you blind. Very dishonest & unprofessional plumbing company, I don't believe any of the good rating they have more likely friend or family! read more

This place deserves minus stars. They are AWFUL!!!!! I have no hot water and I called them to repair the water heater that they installed in 2013 that is supposed to be under warranty. First they didn't diagnose the problem at all so they ended up replacing something that didn't need replacing and charging me and it didn't fix the problem. Then they returned the next day to replace the part that they have now concluded is the problem, assuring me that it would be fixed today. It still isn't fixed and now they say they will be back on Monday to fix it, all the while charging me for work they are guessing is the problem. Willie and Leo the plummers arrived at my home just before 9am this morning and my main line was cleared quickly and I paid exactly what was told to me. Having a home built in 1911 I've received service from this company three times over the last ten years. I cannot say enough good things about the friendly staff, and quality workmanship. These guys installed copper plumbing throughout my house back in 2009 and I was very happy with the results. So it was a no brainer for me when I had a dripping kitchen faucet last week to call on them again. They scheduled a guy to come around the next morning. I didn't like my existing faucet so had decided to replace it with another one while the job was being done. It turned out that it was the connecting pipe between the faucet and the copper in the wall that had gone bad. It was galvanized so there had been a reaction between that metal and the copper in the wall. The plumber managed to get that bad piece out and replaced it with a copper one which won't suffer the same problem. He installed my new faucet and worked out that I owed $145 so I gave him a check and he went on his way. Imagine my surprise when he knocked on the door 10 minutes later and returned my check to me, saying that the boss had said I didn't owe anything because that piece of galvanized was an oversight on their part, they should have picked that up when they installed my copper. So, have confidence that these guys stand behind their work, even years later. read more

Watch out! Have used Roy Neilson Plumbing for many years at multiple properties but unfortunately the latest experience was the last. I filed a police report with the LAPD Devonshire Division whereby the police classified it as grand theft (jewelry). One plumber was working outside while the other plumber went inside the house to turn on faucets to flush the lines and apparently more than that. The police / detectives have dusted for fingerprints and are pursuing a follow up investigation with Roy Neilson Plumbing. Too bad Roy Neilson stands behind that type of situation. Of course we feel completely violated by the theft and have to pay the service call as well...salt in the wound. Hope the police get their man. Not even 1 star for this business. read more

In the process of remodeling my kitchen, I decided to replace the tank hot water heater in my house with a tankless model. Initially I called a different plumber that was referred to me by a friend, but I thought their bid was too high. So I looked into local plumbers in my neighborhood to get a second opinion. Roy Neilson was able to schedule someone to come over the very next day, and take a look at my setup. He reached the same conclusions as the first plumber as far as my requirements, and the location for the new unit. He said he'd go back to the office, and write up an estimate for me. Later that day I received their quote, and it was substantially lower than the first bid. They were able to schedule the installation for a time that was convenient for me. Their crew of 2 showed up on time with all the tools/items required, and completed everything (install new unit, run new gas/electrical/water hookups, remove old tank unit, cap off old gas and water connections) in about 6 hours. They thoroughly tested the new unit, and went over everything with me (including Gas Co. rebate info). I now have unlimited hot water on demand, and I can proceed with the rest of my kitchen project. In short, my experience with Roy Neilson Plumbing was great from beginning to end, and I'll definitely use them again for my future plumbing needs. read more
