I came to brick location and they had a dynamite burger on menu which looked amazing, but said they don't have any jalapeño poppers so I went to the Roy Rogers in Bayville or beachwood and it was not on the menu and they said they no longer carry them. I got a sandwich with fries and vanilla shake. Burger was ok, fries seemed maybe undercooked? But still good and the shake was perfect. I went back to brick store few days later for the dynamite burger which was still on the outside menu but this attendant said they no longer carry them. I got the gold rush sammich instead which was good. A bit pricey but not bad. I wouldn't be surprised if they really didn't have the dynamite burger and just said they were missing a part of it instead to sound better. That's only reason I took 2 stars off for brick location. read more

If you liked Roys before they became a NJ Turnpike afterthought, you'll love them now, at least in Ocean County NJ. The fried chicken kicks the Colonel's shriveled butt and the fresh sliced roast beef is really good. Another nice surprise is the fish sandwich; more than a match for the filetofish. Also check them for the generously portioned breakfast platters, especially the Western Platter with scrambled eggs, home fries and a biscuit with creamed chipped beef. This location needs new management or to be closed down. I frequent this location as its opened near me recently and I enjoy Roy Rogers as a company. Generally this one's food is not the best, we've frequently been shorted on au jus and can often taste soap on our food from poorly washed cookware. Today, however I ordered a Regular Roast Beef sandwich to go. I overheard a situation of the customers in front of me having confusion and issues with their order, they wanted a special request roast beef junior size. This seemed to be an issue for the staff but I thought nothing of it and waited for my food. Upon getting home, I realized they gave me this small roast beef sandwich in place of my order somehow. I called initially to just request a comp on my next order as I was happy to go again and I selected the phone option to speak with a manager. When I stated I had an issue with the order I picked up, this manager first off tried to tell me 'Well this is the Brick store so...' yes, I know this is the Brick store. I was just here. I explained the situation, and that I knew of the special request ahead of me and that they must have been switched. He tries to say they don't make junior roast beefs. I understand that, there was a request and it was a mistake I just want a comp on my sandwich. He says he's going to find a manager and figure it out. I thought I was supposed to be speaking with a Manager already, but okay. He comes back and continues to tell me that what I thought happened did not and that I got the correct order. At this point, my fiancee who's food it was, took the phone and said 'I know what my f** sandwich is supposed to look like and this is not it.' The manager told him 'It's not gonna happen' and hung up on us. This was the most unprofessional treatment I've ever received from anywhere. We've since filed a claim with our bank for a full refund and I've filed a report with corporate to investigate this locations management. Extremely lazy workers, one person inside eating, and one in line during the drive thru, they denied giving us our order through the drive thru, risking us to go inside when we felt safer in the car. I have only ever gone to the Roy rogers in Secaucus further north in New Jersey, it's actually part of a rest stop in the turnpike but it's delicious. So when we found there was a free standing store down the shore we had to go after a morning at the beach. The store is small but new and clean. The customer service is quick, but not very pleasant. For a 2 piece combo and 3 piece combo it came to be about $17. So yes it's a little more pricy than the value deals out there at other fast food restaurants. I was a little disappointed with the flavor of the chicken. Compared to the Roy rogers I've been to it was not as flavorful... and I go to a rest stop. The biscuits were at least good. It was ok, I just wouldn't go out of my way to go back again. read more

I don't know if I went on a bad day but it stunk in there like feet or nasty body odor. I remember liking my burger when I went to the one near Vernon, NJ but I was pretty hungover so maybe I remembered incorrectly. The burger I had here was not good. It had a gross after taste and odor to it that smelt exactly how the store smelt. Really disgusting. The Roy Rogers in Brick has opened in the last week or two. It has been very crowded and a friend and I decided to give it a try. Big mistake. We both ordered the fried chicken. The prices were higher than KFC so we expected it to be at least as good. The chicken was mostly batter and the chicken itself was tough. Not very tasty. I ordered the mashed potato side, which was fairly good, my friend ordered the baked potato side, which she barely ate. I have no idea how the roast beef or burgers were, but a table next to us was also disappointed. My 3 piece chicken meal was almost $9. The smallest piece had meat comparable to a chicken wing (not an exaggeration), and the other 2 pieces of chicken were all batter and tough. The $5 Fill Up at KFC is a much better value and quality and includes desert. read more

Was really impressed. Not sure what these other complaints are about, maybe early reviews before they worked the kinks out. We got the large roast beef combo with mashed potatoes and a spicy chicken sandwich with fries. It's hard to impress my healthy eating wife, but she really liked her "cheat meal" spicy chicken sandwich. Roast beef was piled high and really good. Tasted like real roast beef, unlike an Arby's. Nasty!!!! The girl making my burger didn't have gloves on and handling lettuce and pickles etc. My burger came out and it wasn't cooked very pink inside. The cashier Ann was very nice and did apologize and say she was sorry for the problems and the burger wasn't cooked. I did asked to speak to the manager but she never came out. Out with my Wife. We ordered the regular Roast Beef combo and the 3 piece Chicken combo. They said you could get up 2 sauces with it. When my wife told the Girl at the Register what sauces she wanted all of a sudden there was a .30 cent charge for each sauce container.Then when they put the fries on the tray the containers were half full at best. They took them back and told us they would bring new ones out to us. When the Manager brought the fries to the table, he had an attitude. When asked about the sauces he told us they were 30 cents each. When asked about honoring what one of his employees said, all he would say is that the sauces were 30 cents each. The fries were cold after about 2 minutes of being given to us. The Roast Beef sandwich was dry and chewy. We will not be eating here again!! read more

I've been there twice since the new location opened. We gave it some time to let the heavy traffic calm down. I can honestly say the food was terrific as was the service. We actually had the same cashier (Brianna) on each visit. She couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. What a compliment to Roy's. The roast beef was perfectly sliced and cooked and the chicken was equally good. The place was clean and someone was always on top of the dining room. I've gone to a few fast food places in Brick that I would never go back to again. This restaurant is a nice addition to Brick Twp. and I'll definitely be going back. read more

Boy not the roys I grew up on. Went 3 times. Twice for the chicken. Once for a burger. Both times the chicken was dry and the breading almost broke my teeth bc it's been sitting under a heat lamp, instead of an oven like kfc does. Burger was on.kinda small then I remember. But the bbq sauce is still number 1. If u want roys. Go to the bayville one. So much better read more

The place is clean, the food is fresh and good, the employees are happy and helpful. Not sure why all the complaints about the pricing, you see the menu before placing the order so if it's too expensive there are cheaper places down the road.
