I do what Frank does best and that's look for a cup of Root Beer, however in this case I went to Stewart's Root Beer... I rolled up and placed my order for a large glass of ice cold Rootbeer. She handed a frosty glass of Rootbeer with a nice whiteish foam head layering the top rim of my glass..... Now I placed my lips on the straw and sucked that quenching beverage into my mouth. Oh man was it sublime.... A most refreshing tasty beverage. Next time you're cruising the AC boardwalk and the ocean heat is kicking your butt, I suggest doing what I did and grab a pint of Root beer! read more

Masimo was great. He made sure everybody was taken care of the food was as you expect Stewart's excellence. The hamburgers were a perfection. The onion rings crisp not oily and the root beer floats to die for the place is Friendly. The ambience is what you expect a dock side open restaurant you can't beat it. My son and I ate at this Stewart's on May 24, 2025, and we loved it so much we went back again on May 25, 2024. Here's why we loved it. First, we got the window service! It's so much fun to eat that way! Our hot dogs were piping hot, and I loved mine with sauerkraut and mustard. The cheeseburgers were large, juicy, hot, and on really good toasted buns. One order of fries was definitely enough to share, and I loved that they were NOT batter dipped. For the two of us, two pretty large hotdogs, 1 order of fries, 1 huge cheeseburger, and 1 Pepsi came to about $23.00, and today that's a real bargain. I can't say enough about how great our server was. I asked him to make sure the fries were hot and fresh, and he definitely took care of that! This was a very hard thing to do. We have been coming here every time we are in town for a long time. Today we had a decent meal and a good time until the bill came. There was a service fee for $27 that we assumed was the gratuity added... fine. We then asked just to be sure. The waitress assured us it was not. We felt pressured to leave a decent tip after that - bear in mind this fee was over 20% of our total bill, and we always tip 20% for even modest service. We then looked up the fee (N.B.) for New Jersey and there is no city or state statute to charge this for what is presumably (the server could not articulate it when asked) a bottle recycling fee, which seems to be 6.5% normally. We felt like we got taken for a fairly petty ride and unfortunately this was the last time we will be eating at this or any Stewart's location for it. read more

We stopped at the bay beach just to see what it was all about and saw the Stewart's drive thru. This definitely wasn't what I expected as we were greeted/seated and given menus restaurant style. We ordered regular chili cheese dogs, fries, and Mac n cheese bites. Everything came out quickly and was really good! I'm often picky about the chili on my hotdogs and this was perfect. We also each ordered a drink: orange n cream for my bf and cream soda for me. Both were good and we were able to get refills! This Stewart's on route 35 S in Seaside Heights is located right near the Rte 37 bridge. What's nice about this chain is the view. The food is ok as is the service. It's a definite 3 star mainly for the view. But as far as the ambiance, service and food, it's a 2 star. The place is partially clean, meaning the tables and area surrounding them are are dirty in spots. When you have staff gabbing, nothing gets done. Rest rooms are so so. My advice: if you eat here, stay in your vehicle and THEN get out and enjoy the view of the bay. read more

We popped in for breakfast - new at Stewart's this year. Pretty good! Comparable to diner breakfast (in a good way) with very fair prices, a pleasant view and summer vibe... and as always the option for carhop service. We got the French toast and the Jersey omelette. Both were great. The only downside - or not? - is that they open at 8 am, which may be too late for some breakfast seekers. They serve breakfast all day. We will return! read more

I've been a fan of Stewart's (when it was in Toms River) for yearssssss. Been to this location a few times and it was fine. Went there tonight and most likely won't be returning. My family and I walked up to 4 employees sitting at a table on their phones, no other customers in the place. When picking our table we had to really pick the "cleanest" of the dirty tables. None of them were wiped down. One table was full of old food and drinks, which then attracts flies. I understand if it's busy not keeping up with the cleaning at that moment. But to see employees sitting on their phones instead of cleaning really disturbs me. Which is a shame because as I've mentioned I've been such a fan for so long. read more

This is my favorite place on Earth. I've had burgers from LA to IL to NY, and nothing has ever compared. I'm so happy I found it. The food absolutely fulfills my deepest, most American desires for cheese and meat and milkshake and all that is good. The laidback beach-y atmosphere and killer views are just icing on a delicious, heavy cake. The food really does speak for itself. The Stewart's franchises can be radically different and this one is the king, for my part. I hope it never closes. I love it. read more

I visited this restaurant for the first time today despite driving past it literally hundreds of times. their service is amazing, the waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. I love the laid-back bayside environment, on the waterfront with a playground for kids and people crabbing off the dock. now for the food. I got the bbq burger with the onion rings on the side. it was delicious!!! the patty is gigantic on a seemingly freshly baked bun and so many fries!! the onion rings were so good, they were perfectly crisped and they were not rubbery or stringy like some are. my dad got a hot dog with disco fries (fries with gravy and cheese), very reasonably priced and he said they were good too! I tried the disco fries for the first time and I was astounded at how good gravy and cheese on fries tasted! my mom got a wrap but she said it was a bit dryer than she hoped but she still enjoyed it. another member of my party ordered the pork roll burger with no bun and the pork roll on the side because he is very particular about his food aka a picky eater :) and they got it exactly right, and the final member got a plain hamburger which was delicious to him. the prices were very reasonable for the most part, only $2 and change for a hot dog, $5 and change for almost all the burgers, but almost $10 for the wraps. sides and fries are all around $5 as well. the sodas in frosted mugs ($2.25) came with free refills, so I drank like 5 glasses of cherry & cream soda - SO good :))))) we were all stuffed at the end and couldn't even finish all of our fries! Really decent experience here today. Stopped in for a root beer float and some food. The girl who took care of us was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The burger I had was great and my wife's boneless wings were very good as well. Their pickles are wanting in flavor however, that's my only complaint. Ordered a $5 fried pickles and they seemed kinda ehh, when I got my pickles with my burger I could tell why. They were some kind of bread and butter flavor. Use a dill pickle like Buffalo Wild Wings does, it's the only way to go. read more

Possibly the worst cheeseburger I have ever had. You know what a burger looks like with the grease bubbles on it? Disgusting, also once I got to the middle of the burger, I started chomping on sand. I drained some out ice out and there was a SCREW in my drink, yes a stainless steel sheet metal screw along with a ton of trash in the cup, I assume from the ice well. It's obvious this location and the one in Howell is a pretty filthy/messy/unorganized location but I never had any issues or complaints with this one so I didn't want to judge a book by its cover but this is seriously ridiculous. How can there be so much trash in an ice well especially right at the beginning of the season? Did they even clean the well at season open before they put ice in it? Didn't notice a SCREW?! Or specs or trash in it? Pretty obvious they just dumped ice in it and called it a day. I never had any complaints about the food besides the price was a bit much but the view would make up for it. There's no way I can come back or recommend Anyone coming back here ever again. I can't imagine if I drank it with no lid my insides would literally be getting torn up from the screw and on top of that probably infected from all the mold or whatever crap specs are with it! Such a weird Stewart's...I've been here a few times & it's never been great, but the most recent time was just plain bad. First of all, the ice cream machine is never ready to make a root beer float when I'm there - It's like the Universe doesn't want me to come to Stewart's, but I still try (Damn those delicious floats!) But the cashier explains "It'll be a couple minutes" Okay...20 minutes later, some other employee walks by & says "You didn't even turn it on!" to the cashier. D'Oh! Other than the ice cream debacle, the decor here is just odd. Dirty wrapper-strewn ground, styrofoam flowers falling out of their planters, people write their name on any surface they can find... Even if I ignore the lack of floats & decor, the food I did eventually get was half burnt, and I was given cocktail sauce with a quesadilla...Um, close - You got the color right! It's just bad. Unbelievably great service, very friendly staff, excellent food that arrived fast and BONUS- playground about 10 feet away so the kids can play while you eat (kids menu also available). They will bring food to your car or you can sit underneath the porch on picnic tables and have a great view of the bay right in front of you! Everything on the menu is $6.95 and under (most things are $3.95-$5.95) except for the fried seafood that is $8.95 or $11.95. I had a Gyros that was excellent - and the cheese fries were perfect. I will be going back every time I am in town. Right past the A&P grocery store/Spirits Liquor store on 35 South towards Seaside Park (Stewart's on your right).
