So, no refill on ridiculously small cup of chai. Never experienced anything like this, and I've had Indian food from New York to Bumbai. Good server but the vibe is off. We were concerned about the kitchen sanitation because we couldn't see the kitchen and it appeared only one guy back there just wearing a black t shirt... He came out for a minute. Two of my Indian co-workers recommended this place and I am so glad I finally tried it! The food is amazing, the service was fast and the place is clean and accommodating for large or small groups. We started with Samosas which were perfect. This in one of my favorite appetizers and you could actually make a meal out of them all alone if you wanted. For dinner, we had Chicken 65 Biryani which was a huge portion and so delicious! We also had Chicken Tika Masala which was also excellent. For dessert, we shared a Ras Malai which is a spongey Indian cottage cheese disc, flavored with sweetness and saffron and topped with almonds. So good! There are two locations for this restaurant, one in Bothell and the one we tried here in Lake Stevens. I highly recommend that you try it if you love Indian food! read more

We ordered goat curry tonight from Biryani House and were very disappointed. Within just a few bites, we were pulling bone fragments out of our mouths. I understand goat is typically cooked on the bone, but when the meat is butchered, it should be washed and prepared properly to avoid this issue which clearly wasn't done. We immediately called the restaurant to let them know. Unfortunately, the person we spoke with didn't understand what we were describing and asked for pictures (which wouldn't have shown the fragments in the curry). He took our name and number and said he would talk to the cook and call us back. When the manager called back, we had to re-explain everything, only to be told "it is what it is." That kind of response is both unprofessional and dismissive. A simple apology along with an offer for a refund or replacement would have been the right approach. In the end, the dish went straight into the trash. This was our first and last time ordering from here. Hopefully, others have had better experiences than we did. read more

Curries have nice flavor. Portions are very small. For $16 the malai kofta had 4 small potato balls. Tikka masala and palak paneer tasted good but for $16-$17 the portions were a joke with minimal respective protein. They just filled the bag with a huge container of rice. It immediately place my order after I put in my credit card (cc) info. And there is no way to cancel an order through the apps. I corrected the order and place another one. Food was amazing!! Extremely delicious and flavorful. We order with no spice to share with our son. He loved the garlic naan. My favorite too! Service started out a little hectic but to their credit they had lots of to go orders. Our food came out in a timely fashion though Laid back look and feel. Food is fantastic. But I ordered at 5:26 and got my food at 7:25. I will never eat here again irrespective of how good the food is.

They serve chaat over the weekend, Friday through Sunday. It's the best pani puri I've had in Seattle. I've also tried their curries and biryanis, and they taste just like home-cooked comfort meals. This is my go-to place, and they never disappoint me. Highly recommended! read more

It's called 'Royal Biryani House', but if you go in expecting to actually get proper biryani (where the protein and other ingredients are layered together with the rice and cooked for hours, allowing the ingredients to blend) you'll be disappointed. What they serve here isn't really biryani. I ordered the 'butter chicken biryani' thinking it would be some sort of interesting mashup of the two dishes, but what I got was a heap of way-too-hot basmati rice with a bunch of mediocre butter chicken on top of that and then another enormous scoop of basmati rice on top of *that*. And some undefined sauces on the side that packed plenty of heat but not much flavor. That was it. I've had better butter chicken from a jar purchased at Haggen. The naan and samosas were bland, sadly. Service was polite and prompt but strangely indifferent, and wait staff is not really big on checking back. Ambiance is even worse than the pho place that used to occupy this spot - fast food level or worse. I really, really wanted to like this place, but we won't be back (until something else crops up in the space, which seems inevitable). read more

The restaurant hasn't been open very long, so they are still getting the kinks out. Many items on the menu weren't available yet, but the staff helped us with their best suggestions. Food was good once we got it as it seems a little unorganized as people are waiting to be seated and waiting to order for long periods of time as staff seems to be focusing on only one task instead of all that is going on honestly could not understand what the special was as it was very difficult to understand the server's English. We ordered the Chicken Chetinad and Malabar parotta, and it was a perfect combo, the gravy was savory and perfectly spicy and the parotta was thick and flaky. For those who usually stick to ordering only naan, give parotta a try, you won't go back! Add a delicious mango lassi and your meal is complete. Well it's Friday and that means my wife is picking up takeout and since there's a new restaurant in town we decided to try something from RBH. I went with Goan goat curry and my son ordered the butter chicken. I had asked for 2 stars for heat level and boy oh boy am I ever glad I did because the curry sauce was vey spicy almost thought it was too hot but after a couple of bites I was ok. The curry sauce is thick and a whole Thai pepper plus some other ingredients that I couldn't identify but were good. The pieces of goat meat were tender. You get some rice with the curry which helps cut the heat a little bit. My son liked the butter chicken and his meal wasn't spicy. My wife said the order took a little longer than expected but it's a Friday night so that might be why. I'm definitely going to try a lot more of the menu I would like to actually eat at the restaurant so I can see and smell more of the dishes they serve. Royal Biryani just opened up in Lake Stevens and i figured, let's go and give the new business some business! We walk in and are greeted by friendly staff, told to sit anywhere we like and so we do! Upon seating you can see that the tables, chairs and booths are the same furniture that was there when the place was lucky dragon pho.. Reusing furniture, not a huge deal.. but nothing screamed NEW which took away from the "grand opening" feeling. On to ordering! The menu is vast with all the things you'd expect to see. We order Samosas, Chicken Tikka, Chicken vindaloo (they were out of lamb) and two orders of Garlic Naan. Samosas came out Luke warm, and I'm pretty sure they're the ones we buy frozen from Costco.. The Naan was good, the tikka was good too. Vindaloo was just ok, as it was lacking that deep rich spiciness I'm used to. My biggest gripe with this place though??? Cutlery and dishes!!! Water came in a plastic cup. Forks and knives were wooden. Plates were wooden. Maybe, this is to avoid hiring a busser, but it really downgraded the experience. If i wanted to eat take-out style i wouldn't have come in for a meal. If this was a food truck it all would have made sense.. but it's a sit down restaurant. We might consider this place for takeout in the future as that's clearly what it's built for and the Tikka was tasty but I wouldn't go back and dine in again. read more

It should be Zero stars. We ordered all our take-out dishes "mild" spice level and the food was completely inedible except the Naan & Roti breads. We are breathing fire! I had to return to the restaurant. We were told that was the least amount of spice possible. Manager did give us a full refund. I strongly suggest tasting your Mild takeout before heading home. Too bad, Lake Stevens needs new restaurant options and we will have to go to Red Chilli in Everett for our Indian food fix. read more

Heads up- it is in the old Lucky Dragon restaurant but the directions send you to the Taco Bell. Some things to note, just fyi- They close for a period between lunch and dinner on some days. Butter chicken & naan were so flavorful and I have gone back multiple times because I can't get enough!

So excited to finally have an Indian restaurant in Lake Stevens! They have taken over the old Lucky Dragon Pho spot, but have changed it a bit and added really fun bright colors and designs to give it a great ambiance! We ordered online for pick up at about 8pm and everything was ready by the time we arrived 30 minutes later. We got a bunch of stuff since it was our first time and I wanted to try a variety (and my fiancé hasn't had much Indian food so I needed to figure out what he liked). In total it was about $75 - which for the amount of things we ordered seemed perfectly reasonable. A better deal than most places we end up. They have a TON of different kinds of Biryani in addition to the classics you expect from Indian restaurants. Plenty of options for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. I had a very hard time trying to pick which Biryani to try so I think next time we'll eat there so we can ask more about the differences between them all. The portion sizes seemed normal for other Indian take out I've had - and you always get a ton of rice! Here's the breakdown of everything we got: - Samosas: your typical potato/pea/spices kind. You get 3 very large ones per order. These were delicious! A tiny bit spicy if you're really sensitive to that. I'm not sure what the other review was hating on about these - they were great! - Chicken Tikka Masala (Mild): Both of our favorite dish and it lived up to expectations. The sauce was delicious, and while it never seems like there's a lot of chicken, the chunks were pretty large so once cut up a bit there was plenty. The sauce is really the star here anyway! It wasn't spicy at all. - Aloo Gobi Masala (Mild): Packed with flavor and the potatoes and cauliflower were perfectly tender. Fresh cilantro on top really brightens it up. Again, a tiny bit spicy if you're sensitive. (Also great with mint chutney!) - Bezawada Boneless Chicken Biryani (lowest spice level offered is Medium, which we got): I didn't know the differences between all the types of Biryani so I ordered this one a bit blind. First off, it is SPICY even at a medium level so if you can't handle any spice - definitely don't get this. It tasted great when my mouth wasn't on fire. My fiancé really liked it despite the heat. Plus, there was tons of it! I think next time I'll try to find if there's a less spicy biryani because I'm a wimp. - Garlic Naan: We got one order which turned out to be one really big naan cut in half. I think next time we'll get two orders so we'll have more to go with leftovers. It was nice and pillowy and had great garlic flavor. I also ordered an 8oz side of mint chutney but I didn't really need to. The order came with a few different sauces, chutneys and raita which were plenty for the two of us.
