I forgot to check in when we arrived but anyway I came here to pick up food and what a disappointment. They close at 9:30pm and it was 8:50pm when we arrived. They had crabs that looked terrible. Their sushi needed to be tossed in the trash. They had any kind of chicken fixed and cooked you can think of. I don't eat chicken so I didn't get any of that. My family got fried rice, beef with broccoli, pepper steak, and some fruit. I didn't get any food. I was ok with that. Their shrimp at the buffet wasn't clean, the lo mein was super dry, the boneless ribs were dry, and the egg rolls were dry under the heat. It wasn't all good if you didn't order from the menu. People were coming in getting take out from the buffet and was disappointed as well. The restaurant didn't put any more food out and started cleaning the restaurant. I'm really getting disappointed with many restaurants. When you are used to a certain way of cooking and great food, you just get throwed off when you see lack of any restaurant establishment that advertise that they are the best and really isn't. If I had to do it all over again, I would've kept going and went to Denny's. At least I know that my family wouldn't be disappointed. Who can't cook eggs and toast? I end up eating at Burger King for myself.

This is a pretty good Chinese buffet located near the Dollar Tree and Wal-Mart Supercenter. When I'm traveling between Boston and Albany and I get really hungry, I'll hop off the Mass Pike at Exit 5 and make a stop at the Royal Buffet for lunch or dinner. As you enter the place, be sure to check out the nice fish pond in the corner. This buffet offers the popular Chinese dishes & items, American dishes, dim sum, stuffed shells, soups, seafood (shrimp cocktail, crab legs, soft shell crab, crawfish, steamers, salmon, squid, raw oysters, mussels), BBQ grill, sushi, roast duck, salads, & desserts (hard ice cream, cake slices from display cooler, jello, fruit, cookies, tarts). The food I've had here has been pretty good and tasty each time. I especially enjoy the good seafood selection during dinner, including the steamers, crabs and crawfish! The service is pretty good with refills on drinks and clearing of plates. BUFFET PRICES (as of 12/2008): Lunch (Mon-Fri 11:00AM-3:30PM): $7.99 (Adults), $4.99 (Kids 6-11), $3.99 (Kids 3-5) Dinner (Mon-Fri 3:30PM-9:30PM; All Day Sat, Sun & Holidays): $12.99 (Adults), $7.99 (Kids 6-11), $4.99 (Kids 3-5) Seniors over 65 get 10 percent off. Kids 2 & under FREE.

I stayed away from things that I knew would be notoriously salty but for the most part, they were a lot of choices there for someone like me with blood pressure issues. It's been…read moreprobably over 15 years I don't go to a GC but we had dropped off my dad's car to get an oil change, and it was going to be a while, so we walked over to the only place in the area that had breakfast which was GC. Having read the other reviews I have to agree that the place has a grimey feeling to it. A feeling like the entire restaurant needs to be pressure washed and the carpets ripped off and replaced. The workers were super friendly, but there was some definite disorganization amongst them. I was waiting a good 15 minutes before they could decide who was going to be at the omelette station. I laughed cause one of them picked up a broom and was like: "I did it yesterday, it's so and so's turn today." Then there's the quality of food which is basically bare minimum - the cheapest possible available and it shows in taste and appearance. At least... at least the coffee was decent which was a pleasant surprise, and the omelette was actually pretty good and that's pretty much all I would have from there. I wish there would be more fresh fruit. The cinnamon rolls - very obviously from a can. The gravy for biscuits obviously from a pouch that had water added, heated and served. You see what I mean? like its all quantity not quality. Which I guess you can't expect much more when its 13.99 per person. Maybe it's because it was morning, but we found the bathrooms to be clean which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, I view golden corral as a place you go to when there's no other option as it was in our case within walking distance. It's cheap in both price and quality. This is the epitome of the saying: "You get what you pay for."

It has been eight years since my last yelp review, and I had been enjoying my retirement. Until I…read moreordered from this place, that is. I hate to do it, but here goes... I ordered the "beef stick" -combo. I was greeted by two small, burnt, and suspiciously shaped beef teriyaki skewers, atop a pile of shockingly fluorescent yellow pork fried rice. Had I spilled any of this rice on myself, I could have worked as a flagger at the nearest construction site. The pork chunks, on the other hand, were whiter than a 1970's mustache at a disco club. One chunk looked so much like chewed bubble gum I removed it for inspection to discover it was "just" gristle, thank god. There were also two chicken fingers, clearly fried in oil dating from the Nixon -era. The chicken itself was chewy and sinewy. The only duck sauce came in packets, and it tasted like high viscosity, salty water -- who uses duck sauce packets these days anyway? But that's not what I'm here to tell you about; I'm here to tell you about what happened ten minutes later. My stomach became a veritable symphony of horrors. The sounds were akin to a butter knife in a sink disposal. I knew what was coming, and come it did. I spent the next few hours in a type of suffering I wouldn't wish on an enemy as the old, greasy, fluorescent food rained hatred down upon my stomach. I finally retreated to the couch, my body weakened and my soul defeated. Later that night, due in equal parts to my low IQ and my short memory, I decided to eat some of the pork fried rice leftovers. After all, there's no way this stuff really made me sick. It *had* to be a coincidence. Thus began my most recent self-education, for within minutes, I was once again in the bathroom praying to every deity I could think of. The things I saw that night - the things I smelled that night - will haunt my nightmares for an eternity. I'll cut to the chase: don't eat anything that looks like the food from this place. Chicken fingers shouldn't be fried in anything resembling motor oil, pork shouldn't be colorless fat globs, and rice shouldn't be the color of a school bus. I regret giving a one star review for a local business, but my stomach insists. May god have mercy upon your soul.

He was pretty excited. We went on a Monday and there were only a few other people there. Major first issue, they no longer serve the boiled lobster that is front and center on their menu... only the lobster TALES for $41!! The menus are paper and could easily be marked to show they don't sell it... or at the very least the server could MENTION that it's not available when she brings the menus. I asked twice if the $41 was the price for JUST the lobster and she said that it was, so we ordered additional sides. The menu was unusual... SOME spicy seafood items mixed in with stuff you'd only ever see on a menu in an Asian Restaurant. Fried dumplings, crab rangoon... and the $14 "Cajun Spicy Rice w/Shrimp" was literally a bowl of Asian fried rice with shrimp, not the least bit spicy OR Cajun. The woman that seated and served us was absolutely FLAT in her demeanor. Everyone is human and people have bad days, but she didn't smile a single time. I told her we were celebrating his birthday and she didn't even NOD in acknowledgment, just stood silently waiting for us to order... it was awkward. We felt like we were putting her out, like she had somewhere else to be and couldn't be bothered. They cover the table with a piece of brown paper, but the areas it doesn't reach were sticky like old kitchen grease. They bring the absolutely cheapest plastic utensils, the forks were so flimsy that we had trouble getting the meat out of the shell with them and finally had to ask if they had any metal ones. (They did, which begs the question, why don't they bring them to start?) They don't bring a nut cracker or a pick either, or even a table knife. It was a pretty messy meal. The lobster tails INCLUDED corn on the cob and potatoes, so we ended up with enough food for an entire second meal. In terms of the meal itself, it was pretty good. The Cajun fries were great, the onion rings too. I had some of the best fried whole clams and scallops of my life. The fried dumplings were also spectacular, though they don't offer dumpling sauce, only packets of soy sauce. The Cajun Rice was meh... it was disappointing for $14 and really hard to eat with the tiny plastic fork. The bill came to $104 before tip. Crazy that those prices don't justify real tableware. We'll definitely try it at least once more (maybe as takeout)... hopefully there will be a new server or she'll be in a better mood.
