This is a service department review. I have been taking my Saab to Royal for several years and love that they provide Lyft service and some snacks. Originally, I was seen on the Cadillac side, which was top notch, but then they moved me to the Buick GMC side. The Buick GMC side is very busy but efficient. They do charge an extra 3% for credit card, so use your debit, check or cash. I have switched to a different make, but if I ever need service I will come back. I caution anyone seeking a simple oil change to auto repairs, especially women, before using Royal Buick GMC Tucson auto department. Be cautious and seek a second opinion! After having a few negative experiences, I feel compelled to share my concerns. My first experience was an oil change on a new vehicle with less than 15,000 miles. The initial quote was reasonable, but when I went to pay, there were several additional unauthorized charges totaling more than $700 dollars. I asked for clarification, but the explanations were vague, and I was told it was what it was. I felt swindled and taken advantage of. Another example was my car was making a weird noise, but I did not have a check engine light on. I took it by to get an expert opinion because I didn't want to continue driving it if there was something wrong. The advisor told me I would have to wait over a month for the first available appointment and then leave my car for over a week to be fixed. The initial diagnostic starts at $195, and he let me know it will probably be over $1000 to fix and is not covered by the warranty. He wanted to make sure to be "transparent" so I didn't feel overwhelmed when I got the bill. I immediately drove my vehicle to another local auto repair, and the issue was resolved in 30 minutes and only cost me $30. The exhaust was missing two screws. I hope that Royal Buick GMC Tucson takes feedback seriously and makes efforts to improve its transparency, professionalism, and ensure fair treatment for all customers. read more

"Be careful with this dealership - they are sneaky!" I've bought a lot of cars over the years, and I've dealt with both good and bad dealerships -- but this one tops the worst. They're not transparent at all and try to sneak things past you if you're not paying attention. It felt like they cared more about closing a deal than being honest or helpful. Brought my vehicle in for a leaking upper radiator hose under warranty on 12/18/2025. I was not provided an estimated time of completion. I did appreciate the loaner "car" but my 2023 GMC Canyon is $50K truck so wasn't excited about the downgraded loaner (subcompact) and it was an hour wait for the loaner car's paperwork to be completed. Strike 1. That was the least of my worries. Your service "team" held my truck hostage for exactly 3 weeks before completion. The cause....waiting for GMC to ship the replacement hose. Strike 2. I called Quebedeaux GMC across town during the 3-week wait and they had an OE aftermarket hose available from Reno in 2 days! Ironically I was the one that made this same suggestion to Royal's service dept since apparetnly this idea was too creative for the service team to think of. Really? Strike 3. It was finally finished on 1/8/2026 exactly 3 weeks from the day I brought it in. When I drove off I hadn't bothered to check to see the level of the coolant in the overflow bottle was BELOW FULL. The amount of coolant that leaked out of the radiator hose WAS NEVER REPLACED. Strike 4. Then after parking the vehicle at the hardware store 7 miles away, I noticed that both my front and rear cameras were no longer functioning. Strike 5. The telematics also failed as a result of their "service" and now I cannot connect MYGMC app to the car for remote unlocking etc. Onstar indicated the telematics unit has failed. Strike 6. These QUALITY issues are common after ROYAL BUICK GMC "completes" their service; it has happened multiple times before with Royal since the service technicians have no interest in providing quality work. WORST DEALERSHIP EVER. When I buy myself a Cadillac in the near future, I will gladly drive out of the state if necessary to avoid doing business with such a poor business. This review is not based on this experience alone. Royal's sales team was even worse; they were actually dishonest and couldn't keep their lies straight. Most distasteful, unprofessiona; business I have ever dealt with. To top it off, Royal's management is aware of these issues but not interested in correcting this behaviour. Top-down deceit and disfunction is fostered and apparently rewarded in every dept. Two redeeming factors....Christina in sales and the very petite lot attendent....at least they are sincere and haven't been corrupted yet. read more

Update to my previous poor review of Royal Cadillac. I checked my credit report after purchasing a vehicle from Royal Cadillac. They had pulled 3 credit reports. We only authorized a report from GM Financing which we were approved, but they pulled one from a third party and one stated it was from Royal Cadillac. This is unnecessary and can affect your credit report if you are out car shopping. They pulled the reports before we had authorized them. I know this because the third-party vendor called while we were still looking at vehicles to tell us we were approved. Royal Cadillac is a very low-quality dealer that does not treat customers with respect. read more

Here for a LOF and tire rotation, my Buick Verano just went over 100,000 miles. Had all my service done here. But those days may be over. Spark plugs sb replaced at 99,000 mi according to service rep. How much I ask? $499, oh $4.99 ea? NO $499.00 TO REPLACE 4 spark plugs!? NOT TODAY OR ANYDAY. Time to find a new shop. I bought the car here. $500.00 dollars to replace spark plugs on a 4 cylinder motor, ridiculous!! 1 star for comp coffee. read more

ATTENTION OWNERSHIP!!!!!! Your "so called" Executive Director Kevin Cravo is an absolute joke of a person. How could you put someone with this guys mentality in the position he's in? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he lied about his position and is just a sales guy but regardless this guy should be fired immediately for how he treats potential customers. I own several businesses and if I caught one of my employees treating potential clients like this there would be no if, ands, or buts about it. He would be gone. I asked him to remove me from the companies system and he still continued to cherp me via text because I wouldn't buy a vehicle from him and was accused of "poaching reps". I do not work even remotely in the same industry as car sales.... Anyways if I was owner of Royal GMC I would want to know the employees that were tainting my dealerships reputation and treating clients poorly. The funny part is is I was actually going to go buy one of the new GMC Sierras as soon as I got back from a work trip. I'll defiantly be taking my business up to Phoenix after this joker tried to be little me for not wanting to work with him. Anyways end of my rant. I took my car in for some weird error messages I was getting. They couldn't detect it again or try to replicate the message after keeping it for a few days. The gentleman that helped me named Chris. I got my car back after them not finding anything but they gave me a list of like 3k worth of stuff needed for my car. (Who can afford that rn?) certainly not me. But I got my car and my AC was hotter than when I dropped it off. I texted them and Chris got me in early and took care of it. Their sales process is great; they are friendly and of course do what they can to get you a deal. BUT hope that you won't ever need their service department because then they completely ghost you and fail to even return your calls. My brand new (8 month old) 2024 Buick started to have SEVERAL issues including randomly losing power & the entire screen going black while going 75mph on the highway (multiple time) and they couldn't care less. Service advisors failed to return at least 3 of my phone calls and just said to note it for my oil appoint a month out. But of course they write into their contacts that their warranties only count if you use their service department when you can't get in even on extremely urgent circumstances. read more

The service department here is atrocious and the service advisors I've dealt with are beyond rude, incompetent and liars. Not sure if it's because I am a woman or it's just how they are. It's unfortunate that the service department manager Justin who is great, does not seem to influence his employees on how they deal with customers because the two times I've had to speak to him he is the only reasonable party, and he has resolved my issues and understood what I was saying immediately....it would make more sense for this location to have two people working for him that know what they're doing rather than a panel of advisors having you run in circles...several of the advisors need to be fired. I will NEVER buy a GMC from this location and then have to continue servicing it here. Mind-numbingly FUTILE automated phone mail system! We attempted to get an estimate on a few big but necessary maintenance items, from transmission and brake fluid flushes to spark plug replacement and fuel injector cleaning, about $600-700. We had a list of a half-dozen reputable shops to explore and received estimates from each within 10 minutes of calling. A couple shops needed to look these up but they called back within the hour. Not Royal Buick. Not even close. From the moment you call Royal to try to reach Service you are stuck in an automated system. There is no way out. You are prompted to leave a number and/or opt into text messaging. I did both starting Friday morning. I received an automated text message asking what services I was interested in. I immediately replied... and then never heard back. Ever. I followed up with a text around 5p that same day. No reply. On Monday I went through the voice prompts anew. I received the same automated text I got Fri morning: "We'll see your message shortly." But again zero response the entire day. I texted back Tue afternoon - more than 24 hours later - and received the same automated response yet again: "We'll see your message shortly." It has now been 4 MORE days since starting over on Tue and 8 days since my initial efforts the previous Friday and no one from service has called or texted to follow up on any of my requests for estimates. Needless to say we've now completed half of these maintenance needs at another establishment (spreading the costs out over two weeks) and will return to complete the remaining half next week (at that other shop - Mike at Brake Masters, you are a gem of punctuality and authenticity!) What a dismissively ambivalent way to run a business, Royal Buick/GMC. read more

Non-stop issues with the vehicle - they failed to make proper repairs and created other problems then did not step up to correct them, expecting me to pay for what their service team messed up. We had an alignment done on our 2018 GMC Canyon. Two months later i notice the outside right tire is nearly bald! I had it checked at another dealer as I was out of town. They had it a few days to diagnose it and they gave it back to me for the weekend. Brought it back Monday and was fixed Tuesday at 10 am. I love taking my business to professionals. Well. The worst just keeps on happening here at Royal Buick. My car is about 2 years old and the transmission went out already!!! Wow. Really?? So... since I was treated so horribly & threatened by an employee there. I decided to go next door to Watson's Chevrolet for my maintenance on my car. And they are so, so nice!!! Now I find out my warranty forever is canceled/voided because I didn't have the people who yelled, threatened & treaded me so bad do my maintenance on my car the last year or so!!! Wow!!!... I later had a couple of minor issues; needed the font end aligned & was promised an owner's manual. At the dealership Susan & Terry really helped me to get up to speed with the electronics. This is a review for the sales department, we have been looking for a new Buick envision for almost 6 months at this point. We live in chandler and had been looking all over the Phoenix valley. We decided to extend our search to Tucson and found out that Royal had 3 of them, we worked with Jessica who was the first person we've purchased a car from who actually made the experience enjoyable. We had all the numbers, negotiation and loan information worked out over the phone/text/internet before we headed down to Tucson. Once we got to Royal, we were greeted and Jessica was all ready and waiting for us. We went on a 30 minute test drive, and then it took us about 2 hours to do all the paper work but it was a relaxing, no pressure environment. Additionally, they had barely any required dealer add ons to the vehicle which we had difficulties with when we had been trying to purchase this same car at other dealerships - up to $5k more in required dealer add ons! They only require 6 month key protection which is $200 and includes a Tile key chain so honestly a good deal. Finally, they gave us a bouquet of long stem red roses which was a nice gesture and then we could see around the dealership all the other folks buying cars because they also had long stem red roses and all the employees would congratulate us since they saw we had the roses. Overall, we were just really pleased with our experience at Royal Buick and even though it's an hour and a half from us, we would come back to purchase another car because of how enjoyable the experience was!! read more

My GMC Acadia has a known problem for Acadia 2017-2019 - intermittently, the 'shift to park' (along with persistent chimes) is displayed when vehicle is in park and vehicle is shut off. I have a copy of the service message, and there is no doubt. Nonetheless, they insisted they had to run diagnostics ($200) prior to the work. Okay, I came to terms with that and scheduled an appointment. I had the Service Bulletin in hand. Upon my arrival, I was told I would have to leave my vehicle for FOUR DAYS in order to do the diagnostics. That was just the diagnostics. I asked if I could just schedule the work, since the symptoms were so obvious, and that the bulletin even states it may or may not show up on diagnostics. I asked if I could just schedule the work - and skip the diagnostics. The answer was a resounding no. When I scheduled the appointment, I was not informed I would have to leave the vehicle for an extended time or even overnight. Why even make an appointment? Way not schedule it four days later? Royal, you wasted my time, lacked transparency, and were completely inflexible. You won't be seeing me any time soon. read more

They were able to work us in to an already full schedule, and instead of taking four hours, it only took two. So after all my complaining and a few emails I did receive a call from another manager Kevin, very friendly man willing to help me with my situation. He instructed me to visit the dealership again and speak with Dan. Dan was attentive to our problems and said he would help us in any way he could to get this resolved so everyone is happy. He would meet and greet us every time we came back in. He has such an addictive smile and personality! He introduced us to a new salesman named Sean. Sean was the best, he didn't rush us, listened to us and offered suggestions. He would tell us take it for a few days and see if you like it, if not bring it back and we will try again. He never seemed to get tired of us and we did test drive a number of vehicles. Dan and Sean were always checking on us to see what we liked or didn't like and offer another vehicle. We ended up picking a SUV and they made sure that everything was good on the pricing structure as well as the vehicle. Introduced us to Justin on the Cadillac service side and he was nothing but smiles and offering to help if we needed it. So in the end all things have ended better than they started with this review. A few sad notes of employees (Tyler W and Sean) leaving Royal for bigger adventures in their lives but I am happy they were there to help us along the way! We would like to THANK Kevin, Dan, Sean, Tyler W and everyone else at Royal.. You have definitely changed my opinion and I will be a proud customer of Royal from now on. read more

We have lived in Tucson for over six years, and I bought a slightly used 2015 Buick Regal from Royal Buick in 2016. They are, by far, the best dealer service I have experience in my 80 years. Their free lifetime engine warranty really works: after a year a piston ring cracked and distributed tiny bits of metal throughout the engine, ruining the thing. It got replaced for only a few hundred dollars (extraneous issues), by an engine having 10,000 fewer miles. I have had all my servicing and oil changes done through them: they assign you to a service associate who gets to know both you and the car - nice personal relationships can develop. Everyone from office staff to the "techies" has been friendly and efficient. Probably a little more costly than a generic auto repair place, but WELL worth the skill, courtesy and responsibility they demonstrate. I usually wait there for my oil changes, but when I can't they offer free "taxi" service to and from home. Yesterday, a woman was taken all the way down to Green Valley (over 30 miles)! For this last oil change, they were so heavily booked that I was going to have to wait almost two WEEKS for an appointment. I told them that I was already down to "5% left" before a changed had to be done and that we did a LOT of driving. They said the let them know when I got down to 1-0%. I did, and they overrode their own scheduling system to get me in the next day (over a week early)! I can't say enough about how happy we are with them - both sales and service. read more

I have taken her car for routine maintenance on several occasions. However, today of all days, I was running late for my 09:00 a.m appointment. As I entered the service bay area, I was expecting to be somewhat scolded for arriving late. I was immediately greeted by one of your employees. She greeted me with a welcoming smile and introduced herself as "Beth". She asked me for my name and the reason for my visit. I informed her that I might be a little late for my appointment. Her immediate response was "Don't worry about it, just as long as you got here safely. We're going to take care of you" In todays society it is refreshing to encounter customer service with a genuine smile and a "can do" attitude. Dont buy from this dealership or there so called warranty forever. Sold me a nice lemon which in 4 month the transmission gave out and paid out of pocket 6k to repair. so bought Suburban used certified with the warranty as the dealer pitched the warranty forever which was the reason I bought the SUV in the first place, as i have had vehicles in the past break down Needing major repair. There here after 4 months it started having transmission issues to the point it could not be driven. When i called to the warranty place to file a claim they told me my warranty i just purchased was no longer valid Because I was not servicing the SUV properly, an when i asked its only been 4 months an stated all that needed to be done was an oil change. the representative then proceeded to tell me because i had it serviced not at Royal the warranty was no longer valid. The dealer didn't tell me when i purchased the warranty that all maintenance was required to be performed by Royal even the oil changes. Now this wouldnt be an issue but i live in another state where i can just drive down for a oil change to a different state. They known I lived out of state and told them many times before I even stated the process and they reassured me that i could do all the maintenance offsite as long as i keep the paper work which I had done for the one oil change at a different dealership GMC and they performed the oil change. i tried calling the dealership and the warranty company. One the warranty company stated since I got the oil changed they would not cover my cost, and when i try to get dealership to help they plain out said i would have to cover the cost of the transmission repair out of pocket as they are not affiliated with the third party warranty company and if my warranty was canceled there is nothing they can do. So i had to take it to a dealership where i live at it cost me over 6k to replace they entire transmission as the current was completely unrepairable. never going to buy from this dealership again. read more

It took them almost 10 minutes to tell me they could not get me in However Watson Chevrolet got me right in. It's hard to be loyal to a place when they can't squeeze you in for something as quick as a oil change. Whatever there reason I'm not ready to give up on them yet.
