Steamed Bok Choy (special order). Cooked absolutely perfect.

I've been to this wonderful restaurant many times. Always love their food. Tonight I was craving chicken broth and bok choy. Interesting craving. lol After a little search I determined this was my next plan of action. I skipped the endless questions for the lovely server and ordered straight away what I wanted. War WonTon Soup. I just needed something delicate for my palate tonight. And so I added steamed bok choy. My goodness! How perfect this was for my body and soul. I'm very satiated and happy with my choices. I often forget to take pics but this time I remembered. A perfect and light dinner with plenty leftovers for dinner tomorrow. The chef did something interesting with the wontons. I've always seen char su pork in War WonTon Soup. This time the chef used char su pork (I'm pretty sure) to fill the Wontons. Pretty clever I'd say. Loved my soul soup tonight. Thank you Royal China.

Yummy upscale Chinese food with decent prices. The establishment is beautiful, well put together. Gives a feel of clean, fancy and romance. The service is very prompt. We were greeted and seated as soon as we enter (depending on service levels, they were busy but yet they were still able to knock out tables left and right.) Our server immediately arrived to our table and took our drink order. Gave us a moment for appetizers and than entrees. The kitchen is lightning fast as we got our orders within minutes after ordering. Very fast past. Everything was delicious and we look forward to coming back!

The restaurant is in a strip mall but don't let that scare you off. The inside is beautifully decorated and the food is excellent. We will be back.

Had a great Christmas Eve dinner here. This place was slammed with people yet service was quick. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. It happened to be pouring rain.... I mean POURING that evening yet lots of people flocked here to enjoy their food on a Christmas Eve.

The décor is what I noticed first upon entering the front doors. It is vibrant and quite pretty, not a typical mom and pop Chinese restaurant. We also noticed a note on the door saying they are now open on Mondays. We were lucky because we were there for lunch on a Monday! This place was recommended to me by two friends so we decided to stop in and check out their lunch menu. I do remember when they were closed for a significant period of time a couple years ago, and the place has definitely gone through a serious facelift, all good. It feels modern and tastefully decorated. We had the sweetest server. I wish I caught her name but she was so pleasant and helpful. We ordered the cashew nut prawns and basil chicken. Lunch specials come with either fried rice or chow mein. In addition a small salad and a choice of soup, either won ton or hot and sour accompanies your meal. I asked our server what she prefers so I took her word for it and ordered my basil chicken with chow mein and hot and sour soup. My friend ordered her prawns with fried rice and won ton soup. The one thing that could be improved is the timing of everything. We received our salads, then immediately received our entrees and soup, so everything was ready at once. In spite of that, our lunch experience was super. Everything was flavored nicely, not too salty, and we both enjoyed our lunches very much. While we were there, I noticed tables turning over with new customers coming in to have lunch. It's definitely a popular spot even on a Monday! Their fresh, tasty and hot food, nice ambiance, and sweet servers will definitely have you leaving with big smiles and happy tummies!

Do they have in restaurant dining yet?

yes. reservations are recommended (day prior) otherwise good luck walking in 😉

Is Royal China open during the pandemic? Tried calling them a couple of weeks ago but there was no answer.

They had a sign on the door stating that they would be closed for a couple weeks due to the pandemic. As far as when exactly the restaurant would open again, it didn't state that on the paper unfortunately.

Does anyone know if they're open on Thanksgiving?

No sitting on a bench scrolling my phone for 20 minutes--major points for that. The vibe inside is actually surprisingly nice. It's super clean and has a modern, pleasant look that makes you think the food is gonna be next-level. Here's the "but"--the food was just... fine. * Broccoli Beef: Honestly? A little bland. The beef wasn't chewy or anything, but the sauce just didn't have that "wow" factor. I wanted a flavor punch and got a light tap instead. * Pork Fried Rice: Pretty decent! Good sized portion for the price, and it hit the spot, but it's nothing I'd write home about. * Egg Rolls: Solid crunch, stayed hot on the drive home, which is a win in my book. Filling was boring. The Verdict: If you're looking for a clean spot with lightning-fast service, this is your place. But if you're looking for the best flavors in town, it's a bit mid. It's good for a quick Tuesday night fix, but I'm still looking for my "holy grail" Chinese spot.

It bothers me that I like this place so much…read more Mainly because the cost of dim sum at some restaurants is ridiculous. The fact that Hang Ah charges $8.45 for an order of har gaw or shu mai today when just a few years ago this dish was half the price at most dim sum spots puts a money chill in my very bones. But the fact is that their flavors are on point brings me back in the future. I had one of the best turnip cake dim sum I have ever tasted. Crispy fried with some great flavor through and through. I would order this dish every time I visit in the future. But I would also request that they sear it on both sides for optimum tastiness. The har gaw and fried squid were also full of flavor. I do think that in the future I would request the squid extra crispy as it was a bit undercooked and limp when it should be crispy af. :-) The spot is typical of Chinese restaurants in terms of ambiance and service. All in line with my expectation. My only complaint is paying near $50 for 2 orders of dim sum and one entree. I hate 2026 prices.

The outside looks unassuming, but the inside is very clean and neat. Not too packed at noon on a Monday. Pros: - Favorite items: Chicken Claws, Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice, and baked bbq buns - The meat on the Chicken Claws was tender and easy to get off the bones. The claws were soaked in a sauce that was a perfect mix of sweet and savory. - Though the baked bbq buns could've used more filling, the bun itself was soft, fluffy, and warm, covered in a thin layer of sticky-sweet glaze that paired well with the sweetness of the chashu pork filling. Cons: - Shanghai Soup Dumplings are a skip. They seemed over-steamed, as the skin was sticking to the bottom of the dish and to other dumplings, causing them to rip easily and lose all their broth when you tried to pick them up. - Items like the sesame balls, the steamed egg custard buns, and the baked bbq buns could definitely use a lot more filling.

Yes the portions are very generously large. And, the taste is okay, but not exceptional as compared to an other highly rated restaurant I usually get food from. My biggest complaint is that the service staff is terrible. My recent purcghae was a take out order placed on the telephone. The gentleman who took my order could barely speak english and was very impatient, rushing to end the call. I order a pork mushu, eggplant with added shrimp and the house tofu. I requested that everything be mild as I have a family member that is on meds that do not allow him to eat spicy food. When I went to pick my order up the three containers were placed in a thin plastic bag. When I got home the eggplant /shrimp dish was spicy with three large hot chile peppers right on top of there food. The Mushu pork had no pancakes. When I called to tell them the same man answered the phone and his reply to me was "No Problem"! The older woman who i encountered there at the service counter does understand English but she is gruff and unfriendly. On this last occasion, Mother's Day, when I went to pick up my order there was younger woman who was very pleasant but when I ordered an extra continuer of riv=ce she just handed the hot container to me. Itvwould not fit into the bag with my original order. I asked for another neg. She then put everything into a larger bag (original bagged order as is nd separate rice and tied it). When I got home the containers leaked and it was a mess. When I arrived at the restaurant it was more than 75% empty of diners sitting at tables. No excuse for such sloppy service and attitude. When we walked in, there was only a table of five customers at the end of their meal because the wait staff just delivered them the bill. I asked for a high chair, and she looked at my daughter and said she's too big for that, but I immediately told her my daughter can still fit in (btw, my daughter is very skinny and young and she prefer high chair everywhere we go out to eat every week, and the last one being only 3 days ago). The waitress didn't even bother to go grab the high chair and just walked away to the counter that is located in the back toward the kitchen. With this attitude, I will give one (1) star especially when the restaurant was not even busy at the time. The high chair by the way was very sticky that leaves stickiness on your hand after touching it kind (i.e., not clean). Another observation was that the waitress was more focus on the other dine in customers who were at the end of their meal than coming to our table to start taking order or at the very lease, offer drinks - it was already passed 6:00 pm and the restaurant was still emptied, everyone was hungry so what's up with the nonchalant attitude? Our party consist of three adults and a toddler, so we decided to try out the family meal at $28 per person that comes in a fixed choice of 1 won-ton soup, broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork, and a chicken dish. We also added a side dish of veggie chow-fun (wide rice noodle), so the entire order without the drink, taxes, and tip was over $100. For the food items we ate, I can only give a 2 out of 5 star rating because they all had one thing in comment - neither taste good or bad but with expensive tags. I didn't get sick after dinner so 2 stars rating is all I can give. All I can say is the food is safe to eat but not great. Some of the positive reviews were about good customer service, but we didn't experience that last night. Some reviews indicated how delicious the food were, but I don't agree based on my dinning experience. Therefore, overall, I can't give this restaurant more than 2 stars.
