This great little gem is hidden in a shopping center in Windsor, of all places! We got off the road after a nine hour drive and checked into the Hampton Inn. We were hungry and I was looking for Chinese food. I checked reviews and talked the husband into eating there. I'm really glad I did. The restaurant has a good feel when you walk in and the smell was inviting. We were greeted warmly and seated. From then on everything kept getting better. We ordered Pot stickers and Tea while we decided. The potstickers came out promptly and were really hot. I like a sauce with a bit more heat but there was chili garlic on the table so I spiced it up. That was actually the only negative of the meal. We ordered the Green Bean and Pork with a side of steamed rice. Yum! Super flavorful and fresh. The chicken chowmein and wonton soup were awesome as well. All in all, it was the best Chinese food I've had in a a couple of years!! We saw a lot of takeout streaming out the door while we ate so I assume the locals love it too! If you are looking for fast, friendly and flavorful this is the place. Prices when up but portion size when way down 9 pieces of lemon chicken 15$ less then a regular size container of combination rice with a few tiny pieces of meat and 2 shrimp $14 This place use to have great food and portion sizes regardless of the cost but now just doesn't sit right... Ordered their Hot and Sour and Wonton soup. Both are delicious . My favorite is their Egg Foo Young. They sre always so courteous and nice.

We got takeout from here today, and everything was really good! We ordered a small hot and sour soup, Szechuan prawns, and cashew chicken. The small soup was more than enough for me and my husband--it lasted us two meals! We especially loved the prawns--the sauce was delicious. The cashew chicken was also tasty, and all the dishes came in generous portions. Since it was Sunday, they didn't offer lunch specials, so everything we ordered was full size. We're looking forward to trying the lunch specials next time. Our order was ready in just 10 minutes, and the staff was very friendly. The only downside is that the outside of the restaurant looks a bit dark and not very inviting. If they could brighten it up a bit, it might attract more people. I might try dining in next time to see what the experience is like inside. read more

I ordered 4 soups and was told that each order comes with two containers, so I expected a total of 8 containers. When I went to pick up my order about 20 minutes later, I was only given 4 containers. I reminded them of my original order, and things went downhill from there. They took the soups to the hallway before the kitchen and spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out what to do. I then watched the cashier take a plastic soup container that only had chicken and vegetables, no broth, and fill it with hot water from the drinking fountain. Instead of making more soup, they split the chicken and veggies from one container, leaving one with actual broth and the other diluted with hot water. I did confront the cashier and she said that next to the drinking fountain they had broth.. lol! I paid around $75 for this order. I'm genuinely sad. This place has meant a lot to me over the years since I've been coming here since I was young... but after seeing how food was handled, I don't feel confident coming back. read more

Came here looking for American Chinese food and they didn't disappoint. We ordered general tso chicken and sweet and sour pork. Both portions were pretty large for the price and basically all meat. I LOVED the food here. Nice, quiet, clean, little restaurant. Very fast and efficient service! I ordered Mongolian Chicken on the lunch menu. Came with soup of the day, which was Hot & Sour soup, and their soup was excellent! Lunch portions were smaller, but perfect for my older body. The Mongolian Chicken was outstanding, and very tasty. I've been wanting to come back to Yinkeng for awhile now. It's been YEARS since I ate here. Used to get their lunch specials all the time (comes with soup, chow mein or fried rice with an entree) at a decent price. I called for their lunch special today and they said they dont do it (think they dont do specials on Sundays) so I ordered a veggie chow mein, chicken fried rice, and honey walnut prawns to go. Some people I saw mentioned a change in ownership. I did taste that the food is different. The chow mein for sure is different. The fried rice was flavorful! The honey walnut prawns was good but so much batter! Each one is gigantic! I see they also remodeled the interior a bit, changed the flooring, tables, etc. It's a small family run business and I will continue to support when I'm in the area. I remember this restaurant when my daughter and I first moved to Windsor. It was the first we went to here and soon became a family favorite. The food was delicious as well as excellent interaction with the owners. It was the neighborhood spot to go... very family oriented. I have many great memories full of warmth and laughter. Those were the days... however today (specifically yesterday), that was not the case, I ordered house fried rice and potstickers. The potstickers were just ok. They were kind of doughy though, but great flavor on the filling. As for the rice... it was the saddest and worst fried rice (especially house fried) that I have ever purchased! It was bland with hardly any meat or vegetable ( I mean embarrassingly scarce.). The rice itself wasn't even mixed in properly, I could see a bunch of clumps of white rice as if it were hastily stirred only once or twice. It wasn't even cooked all the way. What really was the biggest insult, is the fact that it cost $25! Are you serious?! Yes. Yes they were. Shameful! What's even worse is that this is not an isolated event. I tried a couple of other times since the "New" owners took over. I have been disappointed with every meal. At least don't be stingy with the condiments... I've have visited Yinkeng Restaurant numerous times, mostly for lunch on a few occasions dinner. You can't beat there lunch specials. They come with soup, appetizer & fried rice, chow mein & a variety of entrées at a reasonable price. My favorite entrees are Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork or the Chicken String Beans. I also enjoy just having a bowl of Wonton Soup or the Chicken Ramen soup on cold days. The service is always excellent & waitresses will always answer any questions you may have with a smile. It's not a large restaurant but is rather small & tucked away in a strip mall but I would recommend giving Yinkeng restaurant a try. read more

Best Chinese in Sonoma county! Their pot stickers are amazing, so is the sauce but you don't even really need it. The chow mein is perfectly seasoned, not too salty and the noodles are cooked Al dente. Mongolian beef is delicious, ask for it with a little more spice if you like the heat. The hot and sour soup is some of the best I've ever had, I add just a touch of sesame oil and extra scallions to my bowl when I get it to go!
