My colleagues and I had Honey Walnut Shrimp, House Fried Rice, and Mixed Vegetables, and they were each so delicious, authentic, and fresh! The cost was very reasonable. This has been a favorite Chinese restaurant for decades!

Our food has always been prepared fresh and the servers are helpful and pleasant. Lately, I am wondering if this place has new owners as the paper menu and servers have changed. The menu still offers our favorite dishes but their take-out menu has been updated with color and photos. I ordered my favorite lunch special, beef tofu (with unfried tofu). My husband ordered the chicken with black bean sauce. As usual we both requested half chow mein and half fried rice. Both sides are very good. The hot and sour soup that accompanied our lunches was robust and flavorful. It was nice and hot and one of the best I've had. Our meals were delicious and it definitely curbed my craving for Chinese food. We enjoyed our lunches, the servers are courteous, and the dining area is comfortable and clean. We have never been disappointed here.

China Garden has long been my favorite Chinese restaurant. Luckily it's in my neighborhood so we go frequently. The staff/owners are so friendly and accommodating and the food is just amazing. Last night my husband and I each had their "individual dinner" which allows you to choose any entree and comes with bbq pork fried rice, a cup of hot and sour soup; and an egg roll for $8.75 more than the entree price. He always goes for the Mongolian beef and I usually get the sweet and sour chicken (mushu is another regular favorite). Everything comes fresh and hot- the sweet and sour chicken is crispy amid that wonderful sweet sauce. I love this place and I will never stop singing their praises!!

The place was very clean. We had a big group & they quickly put a table together for us. They took our drink order & it quickly arrived. They also took our food order, and food came out very quickly. We had family style, so we ordered a bunch of dishes & then shared. This are the dishes we got Chowmein combo Fried rice combo Wor Wonton soup Beef & brocoli Orange chicken Kung pao chicken Walnut shrimp They were all very tasty & tasted fresh & hot. Food was tasty & portions are a great size for sharing. Prices were very reasonable will definetly try it again.

Hit the spot! I accidentally left my to go container but called and they still had it. Service and food always amazing

Food is unappetizing, service is mediocre, but let me tell you, this place is packed with people coming and going. First time here and last time as well. A complete lack of flavor, the prawns tasted off, and it was not good at all! Update: my sister's stomach started hurting shortly. I think she's got food poisoning.

This is a simple, standard, no-frills, but good and enjoyable Chinese place in western Santa Rosa. Ambience is plain but they have some comfortable booths. Service is great, friendly and efficient. The food is good, enjoyable standrad American Chinese fare but done well. We've had General Chicken, with a nice sweet-spicy flavour, plenty of sauce, nicely cripsy (4); peas and mushrooms, a bit baldn but enjoyable for what it was (3); Szechuan beef (fried), which had good flavour and crispy texture (4); veggie chow mein, good with decent texture and some flavour, but not great and lacking in a truly nice, firm texture that holds up, but with plenty of vegetables (3.5); sauteed string beans, very nice with great texture and mildly spicy character (4.5). Portions are large for the prices, and there's plenty of meat and veg with the diches

It's inviting vs the stuffy atmosphere some places have. BABAGANOUSH PITA we got it for the kiddo expecting it to be run of the mill stuff you get. But the babaganoush had the extreme rich flavors of smoked eggplant and felt like almost half an eggplant went in there. Not diluted with tahini, garlic, just pure flavors of eggplant with tanginess of sumac. LITTLE GEM SALAD WITH RAINBOW TROUT was hearty, leafy and very refreshing. The pickled celery was the surprise. HAMACHI CRUDO - beautifully assembled with thoughtfulness, light, refreshing. A bunch of flavor bombs in there so each bite is an adventure. Basil making it refreshing, earthy crunch from hazelnut, sharpness from green onion, sweet tart kiwis. I think a bit of citrus would make this a superstar. Mandolin shaved limes perhaps? GRILLED MAITAKE MUSHROOMS - ok I think this was the chefs most technically impressive dish, with an exercise in playing with bitter profiles and turning it into a master piece. Grilled maitake gets the char from the grill is the first flavor layer, it's woken up by the wild thyme from the zatar. Next the Japanese turnips bring the second dimension with earthy beautiful bitter notes on a bed of a creamy tahini based sauce. It's finished with fresh parsley to bring a fresh element to it. Great stuff. Could raddichio be added to make this more challenging? I saw those crunchy POTATOES and I got them even after eating the meal lol. Do yourself a favor and just get them - they're hot, crunchy and perfect to pair with the vegetables. Finally we got their chocolate mousse with bruleéd bananas sorry couldn't take a picture before it was all gone. Great way to wrap. The staff were all super friendly and helped with picking things from the menu! I got the mystery glass of wine and they had made a fun game out of it. The Beaujolais was great too. Overall when you're surrounded by these amazing farms, vineyards and ocean - no better way than to bring them together - kudos to the creators of the Redwood for making this place with intentionality. I wanted to get the squash, duck pâté, spring pea salad, tinned fish items as well, I guess for next time!

Although the flavor profile on the salmon with citrus and saffron was not to my taste it was expertly prepared. All that said we received some of the most neglectful service I have ever had from a very nice server, who for no obvious reason left us alone for most of the meal. It got busier as our time stretched on, but it wasn't slammed and there was plenty of staff. We ordered plenty of food including two bottles of wine. We had to completely finish all of our appetizers before being asked about mains and we sat with empty glasses for ~20 minutes (possibly more) before we flagged someone down to get the second bottle; a bottle we left half drunk because it stretched our evening so long. I might give this place another try but honestly it was one of the most drawn out anticlimactic $400+ birthday celebrations (without desert) I have ever had. We could have done better at home for less.

Made me want a ribeye, which I bet is probably amazing. But since we only had time for light bites and a cocktail, we took full advantage of their Happy Hour Menu. A few small plates to choose from and some handcrafted cocktails along with beer and wine, and a free-spirits fruity mocktail. Service was excellent! Our waiter was attentive and courteous. We were always checked on and our table was always cleared as more food or drinks arrived. We ordered: Kiwi Bloom cocktail - What a gorgeous cocktail! Don't let her looks deceive you. It was delicate and refreshing but packs a punch! (This was not on the happy hour menu.) Spicy Hummus - Nice flavor and not too spicy. The pita chips were seasoned and complemented the dip perfectly. Crispy Calamari - Small little pieces with an even amount of tentacles, my favorite! Came drizzled with a sweet orange glaze so no need to dip it in anything. Prime Rib Banh Mi Sandwich - not quite Vietnamese enough but it was good. Not so Mini Burger - delicious. Truffle Fries - the aroma alone makes you want more. Tuna Tartare Tacos - I like the presentation. The tuna was seasoned but I felt like I needed acid or to dip in ponzu sauce. Oysters on the Half Shell - Kumamoto: - fabulous and fresh! Loved the cilantro mignonette. Caesar Salad with Fried Calamari - HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE DISH OF THE EVENING! Perfectly dressed whole romaine lettuce heart leaves with perfectly crisped and seasoned calamari. This was soooooo good! I've never ordered a Caesar this way nor have I ever seen it on the menu at any restaurant before. I would order this again and again! (This was not on the happy hour menu either.) From the outside, it's a pretty unassuming building. When we walked in, I got more of a diner vibe than an Italian restaurant. The décor is simple and straightforward without a lot of frills, but we were there for the food, not the décor. We were seated almost immediately, and our waitress was friendly and laid back. She also let us know that we had arrived just in time for happy hour, so naturally we had to order some drinks and appetizers. We tried both the red and white sangrias, which our waitress had made fresh that day. They were refreshing and hit the spot. To start, we ordered the calamari and shared a Caesar salad. We also enjoyed some of the house focaccia bread. For our entrées, I chose the Lamb Ragu while my wife went with the Pappardelle Bolognese. Everything arrived in a timely manner and came out hot and fresh. The calamari was crispy and well prepared. The focaccia was good, although I would have preferred it served warm. The Caesar salad was flavorful and the perfect size for sharing. The lamb in the Lamb Ragu was cooked perfectly, and the pasta had a great texture and chew. The Pappardelle Bolognese was hearty, meaty, and equally well executed. Portion sizes for both dishes were just right and satisfying without being overwhelming. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant dining experience. My only critique is that both pasta dishes could have used a little more seasoning, particularly salt, to make the flavors pop a bit more. Aside from that, Eddie's delivered a good Italian dinner with friendly service and good value.
