I was looking for fast food and decided to try this place. Glad I did because it was way better. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. Our food has always been prepared fresh and the servers are helpful and pleasant. Lately, I am wondering if this place has new owners as the paper menu and servers have changed. The menu still offers our favorite dishes but their take-out menu has been updated with color and photos. I ordered my favorite lunch special, beef tofu (with unfried tofu). My husband ordered the chicken with black bean sauce. As usual we both requested half chow mein and half fried rice. Both sides are very good. The hot and sour soup that accompanied our lunches was robust and flavorful. It was nice and hot and one of the best I've had. Our meals were delicious and it definitely curbed my craving for Chinese food. We enjoyed our lunches, the servers are courteous, and the dining area is comfortable and clean. My wife have been enjoying the take out here for the past few weeks. The lunch special served before 3PM is a good deal. My wife always gets the mixed vegetables that come with a small side of rice and chow mien noodles. The special also comes with soup. The service is really speedy as it usually takes just 10-15 minutes for the order to be ready after we call it in. We look forward to returning:) read more

China Garden has long been my favorite Chinese restaurant. Luckily it's in my neighborhood so we go frequently. The staff/owners are so friendly and accommodating and the food is just amazing. Last night my husband and I each had their "individual dinner" which allows you to choose any entree and comes with bbq pork fried rice, a cup of hot and sour soup; and an egg roll for $8.75 more than the entree price. He always goes for the Mongolian beef and I usually get the sweet and sour chicken (mushu is another regular favorite). Everything comes fresh and hot- the sweet and sour chicken is crispy amid that wonderful sweet sauce. I love this place and I will never stop singing their praises!! read more

Ordered dinner via Door Dash tonight. I got special combination chow fun, egg rolls, and walnut prawns. The egg rolls were so oily that I had oil dripping down my hand. The chow fun was lacking flavor and had a big fishy over tone. The walnut prawns were ok but the pineapple that came with it was not ripe and lacked flavor. Won't be ordering again. read more

The place was very clean. We had a big group & they quickly put a table together for us. They took our drink order & it quickly arrived. They also took our food order, and food came out very quickly. We had family style, so we ordered a bunch of dishes & then shared. It was barely edible. The won ton soup broth tasted like Campbell's chicken noodle soup broth. The won tons were tasteless. The interior carpet was red at one time, but is black now from wear and tear and grease. I do not recommend eating here. read more

Food - this is our go to for Chinese food. We've had various dishes since we frequent this establishment quite often and haven't really found a dish that hasn't been flavorful or bland or just too spicy with no taste. We tend to have leftovers because the plates are pretty large for one person. Service - when we do a sitdown visit we've never had an issue with service. Their owes on top with the order and personable. If we do an online order, it's always ready to go when they say to come pick it up within the time given. Ambiance - we normally don't have to wait when we visit. They seem to be quite busy. It's not a very loud restaurant with simple decorations. No frills we are OK with that as long as the food is great. read more

I never take pictures of their food because I always finish it before I think of reviewing the spot. This place is great. They have a lunch special until 3 PM where you can get basically any entrée with chow mein and fried rice as well as a soup and the option of white rice if you want it. Service has always been really good whether it is for takeout or for dining there. The actual inside of the restaurant is very mellow very peaceful. Honestly, this is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember it's also my parents's favorite spot. If you get the chance, you should order the lunch special with the Kung pow chicken. I don't think you will be disappointed. Next time I go here I will make sure I take an actual picture and update my review. read more

Food is unappetizing, service is mediocre, but let me tell you, this place is packed with people coming and going. First time here and last time as well. A complete lack of flavor, the prawns tasted off, and it was not good at all! Update: my sister's stomach started hurting shortly. I think she's got food poisoning. read more

The food is so delicious, what a shame. The pork was all fat, more so than bacon. It tasted good so i kept eating it which led to my belly completely disagreeing with the contents. Maybe the chicken would have been a better choice. I don't know if i can give this place another try. read more

This is a simple, standard, no-frills, but good and enjoyable Chinese place in western Santa Rosa. Ambience is plain but they have some comfortable booths. Service is great, friendly and efficient. The food is good, enjoyable standrad American Chinese fare but done well. Either this place has grown on me, my tastes have changed, or I can't remember why I gave it fewer stars six years ago. For so many reasons, China Garden is my #1 place to go! For Chinese food! It is not fancy. It is tucked in between a Mexican restaurant and a laundromat in the Oliver's marketplace. Interior is dated. Menu is typical. Service is always efficient and friendly. I go back-and-forth between a few different dishes but my favorites are the Hunan chicken with vegetables, moo shu pork, or Kung Pao prawns. Hot and sour soup is always on order. Hubby usually gets a bowl of Wor wonton soup and egg fried rice with an entree dish that is reminiscent of a major chain's #1 item - orange chicken. this spot is your classic old school, authentic Chinese spot. The food is very authentic and always fills your Chinese takeout void. There may be alotta oil in the dishes, but there's also a lot of flavor. The portions they give are very generous and the cost is on the lower end. Have a Chinese food craving? Here's the place on the SW side of Santa Rosa. I had the sesame chicken and a veggie egg roll. All good! Served pretty and hot and quick. Service was prompt and friendly. I took the Mongolian chicken and rice home. Rice does not automatically come with the meal. Plenty of good for 2-3 more meals for two people for $50 isn't bad. It's conveniently located near Oliver's. When you finish shopping, stop and get your fix. I plan to come back again, as ethnic foods other than Mexican are hard to come by where I live. read more

Decided to order some takeout from here. So this review is solely about the food and not the service. It was really simple to call the restaurant and place my order via phone. I was able to request a certain time that I wanted the food picked up by so that it wouldn't get cold. I tried the Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Vegetarian Chow Fun, Chicken Chow Fun, and Chicken Fried Rice. Every single item was delicious! We ordered steak (must!) with blue cheese butter and steak sauce on the side. Mac And cheese, so asparagus, mussels which I loved so much! We split everything! Then our cocktails were so refreshing and i had a 2nd one! After that I ordered the cheese cake for dessert and my husband was full. But since its his bday they gave him a special ice cream with candle to blow. We enjoyed our dinner and everything was delicious! We will definitely go back!

Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant dining experience. My only critique is that both pasta dishes could have used a little more seasoning, particularly salt, to make the flavors pop a bit more. Aside from that, Eddie's delivered a good Italian dinner with friendly service and good value.

Especially if you don't have a freezer the size of a bathtub to place a couple of whole salmon in. The place is a warehouse and a commercial distribution center. You have to get a workers attention, (easy to do, they're all walking around) and have them lead to into the fish packing area. They ask you to put a hair net on and you go to a small room where a worker is cutting up sports fish. They'll smoke it, cut it into steaks, fillets or lox. Each are vacuum sealed individually so it keeps well and doesn't crowd up your freezer. Highly recommend the lox, a big hit every time we put it out for company. Didn't get a whole lot of favor when they smoked it for me, might do it myself next time.

Famous for their award winning beers, the Russian River Brewing Company was formed by the…read moreCalifornia Korbel Winery in 1997. The original brew master became the co-owner when the winery left the beer business in 2003. It was then moved this location in 2004, opening as a brewpub. It's been on my list of places to visit for a while, so my wife, her mom, and I took the opportunity to stop in for a Thursday night dinner on our way to San Francisco from Fort Bragg. The inaugural double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) was made by the current co-owner at a different brewery in 1994. Double means it uses double the hops and malts, and the ABV is quite a bit higher. He then created Pliny the Elder (ABV 8.0%) in 2000, recognized as the most famous DIPA. The track continued, with Pliny the Younger in 2005, a triple IPA (using triple the hops and malts with ABV of 10.25%). This version is available once a year in the spring, since it costs so much money and time to make. With so much malt being used, a large amount of time (and hops) is needed to balance. I've had Pliny the Elder in bottles before, and really liked it: I don't like the hoppy 'piney' taste in my beers, but also recognize that not enough will make the beer too sweet (which I've been facing with a lot my island beers lately). Parking is street only, but there was a lot of it, with the metered parking only requiring payment till 6 pm. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated at a table near the bar. As expected, it was quite loud, with after work folks having a good time. We got menus, ordered our food, and then decided what to do about flights. The brewery is also known for their Belgian style and thus offers two different flights. It was my first time, and didn't know how much my wife could help, so decided to order the California Sampler (a selection of 12 different West Coast 5 oz. pours of ales and lagers for $15.45) to start: O.V.L. Stout (Old Vic Loyals) - Irish nitro stout - really beginning to love stouts, and this one was good. Velvet Glow - lager - solid. Ending up buying 6 pack to bring home ($12.99) STS Pils - pilsner. Bought a 6-pack for $12.99. Russian River Porter - Blind Pig IPA - West Coast IPA Happy Hops - Juicy IPA Mosaic Stack - West Coast IPA SimCoe 25 - West Coast IPA Citra Flash Mob - West Coast IPA Mind Circus - Hazy IPA DDH Pliny the Elder - really good. bought two cans at $5.99 each. Pliny the Elder - the original Felt pretty good, so decided to order the Belgian Sampler (9 different for $13.63), Surprisingly, I didn't like it nearly as much (my favorite fruit beer during this trip was the Howzit Punch beer). Petite Robert - table beer Little White Lie - Belgian White Robert - saison Perdition - biere de sonoma Damnation - golden strong ale Mortification - quad Supplication - sour brown ale Intinction - barrel aged pilsner Consecration - sour dark ale In terms of the food, it was solid. The 8 pc chicken wings ($17) were good, and the cheesy garlic bread ($10) was filling. I had the meatball sandwich ($16) and upgraded the fries to a spinach salad (+$4): it was tasty, loved the toasted French bread and marinara sauce, with the meatballs being OK (tasted from frozen)...loved the spinach salad with strawberries and blue cheese. We finished off our meal with a Vinnies (co-owner) sundae: good vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a lot of almond slivers. Payment was at the table, and me being again very pleasantly surprised at how little the flights were (a typical brewpub where they charge $3-$4 per 5 oz, would have cost 4 times as much...though of course I wouldn't have drunk as much either).
