    Mongolian beef
    Ken O.

Our first visit and we enjoyed our meal. The food was prepared fast and fresh. My Chinese wife thought combination fried rice good but slightly oily. The Mongolian beef was our favorite dish. Very tender and rice noodles underneath tasty. The combination fish dish was a little underwhelming but was not bad at all. My wife thought reconstituted mushrooms could have been soaked longer to make less chewy. In all, a good time was had for my wife's birthday lunch. The portions are good and large and service gets an ok we had to flag our server down after waiting a while to give order. Restaurant was loud but in fairness was nearly at capacity.

Husband and I have eaten here twice and both times were pretty good. We came for the lunch specials. First time: I got Szechuan Beef lunch special with chow mein and Husband got Almond Chicken with pork fried rice. The crab Rangoon was pretty good but didn't have much filling. The hot and sour soup was extremely hot (I had to put in a couple of ice cubes), but once it cooled down it was delicious. Usually Husband has better food than I do. It's quite rare that we both like my food better, but this was one of those times. My food tasted fresh while Husband's food kind of tasted like a freezer food that had been microwaved. Hard to explain, but Husband was less than satisfied with the selection. The second time we came, Husband got the Mongolian Beef lunch special, and I got Beef Bok Choy Chow Fun. Even though it wasn't on the lunch menu, I still got served hot and sour soup. Beef with Bok Choy Chow Fun was always my favorite Chinese dish growing up, and this lived up to my standards which surprised and delighted me. One again, Husband liked my food better. It's been a number of months since we've been here so we should go again soon. The restaurant has a few nice decorations, some tables and some booths, and is relatively quiet. The first time we came, there was a table of older gentlemen that seem like they're regulars. The servers let them take their time and didn't try to rush them out the door. There is ample parking in the lot and we've been able to park quite close both times. If you're in the area and looking for Chinese food, try Great China!

Possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. We chose it because of great online reviews. We got 2 meals: Orange Sesame Chicken & Prawns with Lobster Sauce. The prawns meal was SO BAD we actually threw it out& just put the shrimp in the very thin wonton soup. How bad was this food? ALL of the vegetables were clearly canned. There was a tiny portion of egg. The sauce looked like water. Inedible! (Hence throwing it out & putting the shrimp into the wonton soup.) Orange sesame chicken is pretty hard to mess up, but it was just preformed very small boneless chicken tenders with an extra-thick super gooey premade sauce & a sprinkle of seeds on the top. Everything was heated through similar to a microwave. If I wanted a plate of canned & frozen food, I could have bought a frozen dinner. I am really disappointed I wasted any money on these and they won't be getting another dollar from us. I would be dubious of the glowing reviews and I hope that the owners learn that people can recognize canned peas, carrots, mushrooms and bamboo shoots at the very minimum.

Royal China is my go-to Chinese spot…read more It's really close to my house, which is a huge bonus, but honestly I'd still go here even if it wasn't. The food quality is great every single time. We've ordered a lot from here, and I can't think of anything we didn't like. If I had to pick a favorite, it's probably the hot and sour soup. It's a perfect combination of hot to sour ratio. I've had it in a lot of places, and they just get it right every time. The string bean chicken is also one of my favorites. It's very flavorful, and the green beans are very fresh and cooked perfectly. We also really like the asparagus chicken, Mongolian chicken, walnut prawns, moo shu chicken, and the potstickers. My wife loves the sweet and sour chicken, and my daughter is all about the wonton soup. What's funny is we've never actually sat down and eaten there. I always say we're going to, but usually when we're in the mood for Chinese food, we just want to take it home. Every time I go in though, the place looks really nice and has a great vibe. We've just gotten into the habit of doing pickup. At this point it's just kind of our default. When we're in the mood for Chinese food, this is where we end up.

Every dish tasted fresh and well-prepared, and the portions were incredibly generous, making it a great value as well. What really stood out was the hospitality. We had gotten chicken chow mein, mongolian beef, eggplant and tofu clay pot, sauteed string beans, pea shoots, turnip cake, and egg custard buns. The mongolian beef had pretty good flavor tho it tasted different from the norm. Different brown sauce of sorts. Still cooked well though since it worked in this case. The string beans and the eggplant/tofu clay pot were cooked well. I liked the flavors on them tho the clay pot needed stronger flavors. Usually for clay pots it would sit in the sauce and be practically enveloped in it. That and the chicken chow mein were both a bit bland unfortunately. The pea shoots had pretty good flavor and garlic but were a tad undercooked; hard to chew through. Turnip cake were decent, custard buns were still on the cold side. A quick trip to the microwave did wonders for the buns. Decent for the area but still hard to meet some of the marks for us.

When we walked in, there was only a table of five customers at the end of their meal because the wait staff just delivered them the bill. I asked for a high chair, and she looked at my daughter and said she's too big for that, but I immediately told her my daughter can still fit in (btw, my daughter is very skinny and young and she prefer high chair everywhere we go out to eat every week, and the last one being only 3 days ago). The waitress didn't even bother to go grab the high chair and just walked away to the counter that is located in the back toward the kitchen. With this attitude, I will give one (1) star especially when the restaurant was not even busy at the time. The high chair by the way was very sticky that leaves stickiness on your hand after touching it kind (i.e., not clean). Another observation was that the waitress was more focus on the other dine in customers who were at the end of their meal than coming to our table to start taking order or at the very lease, offer drinks - it was already passed 6:00 pm and the restaurant was still emptied, everyone was hungry so what's up with the nonchalant attitude? Our party consist of three adults and a toddler, so we decided to try out the family meal at $28 per person that comes in a fixed choice of 1 won-ton soup, broccoli beef, sweet and sour pork, and a chicken dish. We also added a side dish of veggie chow-fun (wide rice noodle), so the entire order without the drink, taxes, and tip was over $100. For the food items we ate, I can only give a 2 out of 5 star rating because they all had one thing in comment - neither taste good or bad but with expensive tags. I didn't get sick after dinner so 2 stars rating is all I can give. All I can say is the food is safe to eat but not great. Some of the positive reviews were about good customer service, but we didn't experience that last night. Some reviews indicated how delicious the food were, but I don't agree based on my dinning experience. Therefore, overall, I can't give this restaurant more than 2 stars. Side note: on the way home, I told my wife that Panda Express would have been a better choice if I knew our dinning experience outcome a head of time.
