The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold. They have many options to choose from on tap. They have Darts inside and a couch you'd find down in your friends basement that he found on a tree bank trash day, but that simply adds to the dive bar charm. We stayed for one drink and the burger as we were exhausted from a red eye flight the night before. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open late and apparently gets packed as the night goes on, this is the spot for you. Most places close early in Franklin, so this is apparently the after hours spot that everyone ends up going to when all other options are closed. The Pond reminded me of a few dive bar spots in Vegas, and I have to recommend you pay them a visit, if for no other reason, just to say you've been there.

The seats are shockingly comfy for being mass stadium style, even the bleachers have backs. I do however highly recommend you pay for premium parking. The normal parking situation is an absolute mess. Great lineup of performers, throughout various genres and type of entertainment. I didn't eat here but saw them advertise $2 hot dogs, and if that isn't a steal then I do not know what is. Can't wait to see more shows here!

My Sorority Sisters and I had tickets for the Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, and Corrosion of Conformity show last Sunday evening. The amphitheater was clean, the seats were comfortable, and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Sadly, I can't speak to the acoustics because ~ three minutes into their soundcheck, Corrosion of Conformity were forced to depart the stage (and the entire venue (which can accommodate 7,500 folks) was evacuated) due to lightning. The lightning/thunderstorms/showers lasted well into 2.5 subsequent hours and finally, the show was completely postponed. Boo!!!! The arena's protocol (beyond plastic purses of a certain size) is, if lightning is present, patrons are supposed to "shelter in their vehicle." We Uber'ed to FirstBank, as many others did, meaning, we did not have a vehicle to shelter in. We checked with an employee who asked for our "white wristbands" which we were never given, as another employee also asked for, and they pointed us to an on grounds chapel with covered patios where folks rode out the storm "elbow to elbow." Someone said the white wristbands were supposed to designate us as Uber riders. Another protocol point regarding weather is, if you, for example, get in line to return inside the arena, within thirty minutes of the last lightning bolt/appearance you are "on your own" in terms of endangering yourself. We spent over three hours here, including "sheltering" at the chapel, standing back in line, re-sheltering, then learning the show was officially cancelled and weaving/winding around slick, dark, sidewalks in pouring rain to the Uber pickup area that has zero shelter from the elements. We were three totally soaked rats, since we left our ponchos in the car due to no prediction of rain during this time. Positives were all the restrooms were clean (despite the female restroom in the chapel running out of toilet paper), and the fact they did play Judas Priest music on the chapel's patio for us to listen to, and most staff were friendly and helpful. Cons are lack of shelter, lack of clear signage/guidance about Uber pick-up points, and not providing proper wristbands. Also, there is either one single entry road/exit road, or one single entry and one single exit road. Regardless, the traffic, although improved as noted by others over the couple of years, was still onerous, especially in the dark rain at 9:15 PM onwards. Thank you security, local Sheriffs, and arena staff for doing good jobs in keeping thousands of people informed and aware as best they could! I am hoping this exact lineup is really rescheduled on a date we can all attend in the near future! Because of the weather we didn't sample any food/beverages. Others reported beers were about $16.00 each and the clothing merchandise for sale was generally in the $50.00 range.
