STOP!! I need you to know that I rarely, ever write a review for anything, but I have to on this one. You see, I didn't like Indian food when I first tried it back in Scotland, some 35 years ago. I simply didn't know what it was or what it tasted like and my first experience in Edinburg was terrible (it shocked my palate!). That said, after I gained an appreciation for it over the years, I was hooked for life!! Now, after eating Indian food in so many countries over the years and even decades, I truly feel like I now know what the "BEST" tastes like and I am here to tell you, hands down, Royal Everest is the best in the area!! The chef really knows how to combine the special Indian spices to make the curries superb, as well as all the other dishes! And, everything is made fresh to order ... nothing is thrown together quickly ... but as you well know, perfection has to be built with each creation on its own, with care. So, I will start as I began ... I rarely post any review, but trust me on this one ... Maybe I am not the biggest fan of Indian food but I have tried other places and loved certain dishes. This place was polite and professional. The sauces were ok, the naan, delicious, the rice, tasty but in 3 of the dishes I ordered, maybe I inadvertently ordered an egg in them, all 3, and no meat. I understand some places don't serve meat; no problem. But a boiled egg? In 3 dishes? My kids were disappointed. And I think maybe I am not a fan of Indian food and this place is great. Delicious! We had our first Indian red wine, which was smooth and lovely. The chicken coconut curry I asked for mild, and it was! Creamy and delicious. The highlight was the great service. I have been looking forward to this restaurant opening since I first saw the signs- and finally ordered takeout tonight and it was DELICIOUS!! I had naan with spinach and cilantro, and a kofte of some sort (I foolishly forgot to grab a menu and can't remember the specific item names!!) and they were both fantastic. This is the BEST Indian restaurant you will find in the U.S. The cuisine is Northern Indian/Nepalese & is AMAZING.The closest thing you can get to Indian curry without a) living with someone who can cook from India or b) being in India. If you go at lunch on the weekend you can have the buffet, so you can try a bit of everything. I suggest the vindaloo & masala. Whenever any of our friends come to visit, we always take them there. Tuesday night and a stressful day. Was greeted promptly at the door and taken to a beautifully set table in a pleasant setting. The glass over freshly pressed table cloth was a nice touch, pristine cloth napkins had the utensils tucked artfully inside. The menu was huge, easy to read and affordable. There is something for everyone, meat lovers, vegetarian and low carb. The food was beautifully presented and the taste, take a bite and the different seasonings and spices present one after another yet blend harmoniously together. Like another diner said, this place is a hidden jewel. Spacious enough to accommodate a large family with kids or family get together, cozy enough to enjoy time with a friend or loved one. I can't imagine what it is like on Buffet lunch days (weekends) I bet it is packed! And they deliver in a 4 mile radius, for free! What's not to like. We will be back. read more

This has definitely become my favorite Indian restaurant. I was initially worried that they wouldn't have enough vegetarian dishes for their buffet and Was happy to see so many different options! Don't be fooled by the exterior. This place is such a gem! We got the chicken tika and coconut curry with lamb (and naan, of course). Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. Serving sizes were perfect-not too much, definitely didn't go home hungry. The waiter gave us some great suggestions and everyone was incredibly friendly. And they deliver?? This restaurant has only been open for two months at the time of my visit. We had a group of five with different entrees, samosa appies and naan. We enjoyed all the dishes, good sauces, quality meat. The naan was crisp and fluffy. The spices (2-4 stars) were on point. The servers were personable and informative. If you are really hungry and don't want to spend a lot of money this is the place to go! If you want some tasty/spicy Indian food then this won't fulfill that craving. All the buffet items were bland no spice at all. Tandoori and pakoras never came out in buffet even after requested or they were stalling. It's really a penny pincher place, but when one guy is the greeter, server and pretty much does everything but cook what do you expect. I have to give it him he still kept his composure while running around doing everything he could and was courteous when I entered and when I paid my bill. read more

Absolutely delicious. The dinner for two fed four of us (with an extra appetizer). Big portions. Delicious flavors. Owner is incredibly friendly and happily accommodated our (dairy free and veg) dietary restrictions. Highly recommend to all Burien vegetarians/vegans. Burien is so lacking in good (flavorful) veg options. I'm very picky and can say this place (and its accommodating menu) is a great addition to the neighborhood. Been trying to figure out how summarize this place -and all I can say is WOW! If you enjoy Indian food, this place is for you. We ate here the other day not expecting what we ultimately got - terrific food and great service at a very cute place in the heart of Burien. We've eaten at several Indian restaurants in the area and none compares to this. Unlike our past experiences, this place does not skimp. Instead of all sauce and little else (which is my big gripe with most other restaurants), this place did not skimp on anything. Lots of meat and vegetables not to mention wonderful Naan. Visit my parents in Burien often, and me and hubby were delighted to discover a new Indian restaurant on the main street. We ordered the non-vegetarian meal for two hoping to get a lot of different tastes to check a wide range of food. We were definitely not disappointed. We had lamb curry - oh so good - and the Tandoori chicken was nice and tender and flavorful. Loved the Nan, the Vindaloo was a little too spicy for my husband,so maybe we should've only got the the one star, but I loved it. So happy to have found this place! I love Indian food and I love that The food is not sweet like some restaurants, (better for my diabetic mom.) Yes! Definitely go try it!
