My friends and I ate here yesterday. It was the first time for them and the second for me. First thing you notice is the colorful handmade umbrellas on the ceiling. It's very cool. We ordered lamb Tika masala, chicken Tika masala and Dahl makhani along with bullet and garlic naan. We also ordered samosas and mumbai vada pav. The mumbai vada pav is spicy potatoes mixture on a soft roll with chutney. I could eat a million of those! It was all delicious. My mouth is watering thinking about it. I mentioned to the waiter that their chef is very talented. Next thing I know he brought him out to meet us! He is younger than I would have expected. It was a treat meeting him. I recently visited Indian Bite with a friend and walked away with a mixed, but ultimately thoughtful impression. Let me start with the service, because it deserves recognition. Our server was attentive, present, and genuinely eager to learn and provide a good experience. There was a level of effort there that you don't always see, and I can confidently say there was nothing negative about the service. Now, the food. We started with the Cauliflower Manchurian appetizer, which was the standout of the night, beautifully spiced, well-balanced heat, and exactly what you expect when you go out for Indian cuisine. It delivered flavor and depth. We also enjoyed our Garlic Naan. For our entrees we ordered Prawn Malai Curry and Chicken Saag. The prawns were clean and cooked properly, but the dish overall felt under-seasoned and lacked the heat and boldness typically associated with Indian food. The chicken itself was moist and cooked well, but presentation was noticeably different from the menu photos. The saag, in particular, was more of a purée rather than the textured spinach shown, which was a bit disappointing from a visual and expectation standpoint, And again, it lacked the bold, heat generally associated with Indian Cuisine. Where the experience struggled most, however, was the ambiance. The restaurant felt unusually quiet. ((It was a Thursday Evening around 6pm)) We were one of only two tables dining, and the overall atmosphere came across as somewhat uncomfortable and, at times, a bit eerie. The exterior signage also doesn't align with the cuisine; it gives off more of a fast-food or taco truck impression rather than an inviting Indian dining experience. Additionally, the gold-toned plating and utensils felt more distracting than elevated. The finish appeared worn and tarnished, which unfortunately had the opposite effect of what was likely intended, as it felt more gaudy than refined. Overall, we did have a good experience, largely due to the service and a few highlights in the food. However, the restaurant is still finding its footing. From what I understand, they've only been open about six months, and it shows. With some strategic adjustments, especially in ambiance, branding, and consistency between menu presentation and actual dishes, this place has real potential. I hope the owner takes the opportunity to refine these areas, because there is something here worth building on. read more

This restaurant popped up a while ago and I stopped in to get a sna k on the way home. Really tasty. Our 2nd experience was a non event. We are here hoping we have a good dinner. The samosas came and they were really good. I ordered the Saag paneer., the kid got the kabobs, and the wife the Manchow soup. The service was good and fast, but we were 1 of 2 groups in the restaurant. The place was clean and really well organized. Ok...the food was a bit underwhelming. The Saag had a consistency of soup. The naan and roti were thin like a cracker. The soup had very little besides the broth and definitely no crispy noodles like the menu said. Food was still great. Garlic naan was memorable. Samosa plate was very good but I expected 3 samosas and there were only 2 for 3 people. Chicken and lamb saag were both good and tasted about the same because they had the same sauce. Recommend ordering the chicken for $3 less. You won't know the difference. Chicken Banjara was very large and tasted great. As before, the service was sketchy. We had to ask for water and it was served without ice, none available. We had a to go lunch today. The order took over an hour to be ready. The order was still wrong after the long wait. The plain naan is not naan, it's hard. it seems pre made bread of sorts. I would even say a tortilla is closer to it than naan. The chicken saag has no greens at all it's just a liquid green greasy sauce. Tikka chicken masala was greasy and runny. I found Indian Bite to be a delightful surprise overall! Sure, the server/greeter we had tonight could be more welcoming, friendly, and cheerful and they could play some nice background music (preferably Indian) to add to the ambiance since the decor is cute with the hanging colorful parasols and beautiful shiny metallic dishware. However, I'm willing to overlook any of that because I thought the food tasted super delicious-- From the creamy Butter Chicken, to the melt in your mouth Goat Curry, flavorful Chicken Tikka Masala, the generously portioned Royal Chicken Biryani, hearty Daal Lentils, and rich Coconut Fish Curry. Everything we tried tonight, including their buttery Garlic Naan and perfectly blended Mango Lassi's tasted wonderful. It's a plus that they have parking and the restaurant is deceivingly larger than what it looks like from the outside. If you're in the Normandy Park area and craving Indian food, I recommend this restaurant. Hopefully, you get the same (or better) experience than we did. read more

Indian bite is a classic example where the chef believes in himself, in his recipes and in his culture ... and decides to make it as authentic as possible instead of catering to a taste that might require it to be watered down. In their defense, taking a little more time to get the food done from fresh ingredients-- is just fine and people should not complain about the time it takes to make fresh food because we are so used to processed fast food. So make the time to slow down, breathe, relax, and enjoy the excellent recipes. First and last visit. Place is new and pretty rough. At 7pm on a weeknight, most tables empty but still full of dirty dishes from previous guests. Curries were very thin. One dimensional flavor profile. Chicken tough. The paneer must have been straight out of the package. Biryani was OK but had more of a middle eastern spice profile than Indian. Naan seemed to be store bought. Serivce ok, but dishes were about 15 minutes later than they promised. Had trouble making change for a cash transaction. read more

We gave Indian Bites a try. The goat biryani was delicious. Others at our table enjoyed butter chicken and fish curry. They need to work on their service, specifically: greet guests and smile when they arrive. Make us feel at home. There was an undertone of surliness that was uncomfortable. Absolutely wonderful food. My wife and I came in for a very early dinner on a Friday, and the place looked a little understaffed, so we had to ring to get some attention. It looks quite nice inside, but the floors felt weird, slightly slick and waxy. The gentleman who served us was fine, but clearly distracted with chores. It also took a bit longer to get our food, maybe 15-18 minutes. considering it was literally only the two of us in the restaurant. So off to a shaky start. However, once the food showed up, all was forgiven. Holy crap, it was so good! We had the butter chicken, daal makhani, garlic naan, mango lassi, and paneer 65 appetizer. Nothing missed! The seasonings were perfect, the presentation thoughtful and appetizing, and the textures were the "hnnngggg" type of good. The garlic naan especially was notable, it was so fresh! This is the old bistro baffi location. They basically changed nothing about the interior, and guess what? Same terrible service too. There was nobody inside to greet customers. I wandered around the restaurant and even poked into the kitchen before finally tracking down my order. They direct customers to Clover Online as a preferred checkout option, and I used it, thinking it would be better for this new business. They didn't receive the order, and then took 15 minutes to make it while I sat in the dining area, after barely communicating with anyone over hushed tones. Returned to Indian Bite again tonight. We chose 2 different things to us. Veg Burasi Kebab, an Hors d oeuvre. A very light soft veggie mix, lightly fried & delicious. Also Aloo Gobi Matar Masala a cauliflower dish in a mild sauce served over rice. Both were great, the service was constant. Our server brought us a few different samples. Very kind. I highly recommend this place, it's my favorite of all the Indian restaurants we try. read more

Asked to sit outside but instead of whipping down the tables the server/host told me they were dirty so we couldn't sit outside. There wasn't anyone else there so I wasn't sure why he couldn't whip them down fast. I would have done it myself if I could have. The host was also the server and he was very slow and not helpful. This Indian restaurant, located on the same spot of what was Bistro Baffi, just recently opened -- so service was a bit slow. The young man was apologetic, but we didn't feel like we were being ignored. We were going to order the lamb curry, but decided to try the goat curry. Wow! The meat was tender and obviously braised slow and long. The spices melded well - making the thick curry sauce so wonderfully flavorful! The goat meat was prepared well and did not taste gamey at all - - we couldn't even differentiate it with lamb. The chicken tikka, which was impressively served on a sizzling plate, was also tender and flavorful. The plates, utensils, water carafe, and serving containers were nicely presented. However, the metal plates, funnily enough, kept moving in a circular motion whenever we needed to cut meat or scoop food - - it was because of the lack of a placemat or table cloth between the metal plates and the smooth surface of the table top. It became difficult to stop the motion hahaha. The menu is not super extensive, which is a very good thing, and overall, this is a very good place to get well-thought-out Indian food. read more

The Good: -The decor - love the colorful umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, and the authentic music (Bollywood & Indian pop!) -The Naan was delightful, crispy on one side with a bubbly, chewy perfection -The samosas were crispy, delicious with nice sauces -The tandoori chicken arrived on a sizzling bed of cabbage and red onions The "must be improved" in order for this restaurant to not go out of business: -Service was peculiar - we were seated to an empty table, provided menus, then the waiter started cleaning all of the other tables around us with windex (was our table clean? What's going on?) -Service included plates, napkins, utensils, and a pitcher of water, but after the food was delivered to the table, nothing. We had to ask another person who showed up later how to pay so we could leave. It does not seem like they know how to run a restaurant, which will kill this business if they don't figure it out soon. -Menu - none of the food looks like the pictures on the menu -Food - except for the naan, samosas, rice, and sizzling tandoori presentation... the food was really lacking. We expect Indian food to be expensive, but this was not worth it. The saag paneer was soupy like the didn't use enough actual spinach, and the Aloo Gobi Matar Masala was made what seemed like with frozen corn, green beans, and peas, and was also soupy and unlike any Indian food we had before anywhere. Really hope India Bite gets it together - there is potential, but we would really struggle to come back and spend that much money. read more

My young son and I strolled over to Indian Bite for a Saturday evening meal. My son was transfixed by the colorful and whimsical decor, with parasols on the ceiling and elephant-themed artwork. The service was courteous, and food arrived promptly. They have an extensive menu, which includes many meat and vegetarian dishes, and about six dessert options. We ordered the saag paneer, lamb curry, which came with basmati rice with cumin seeds, plus an order of regular naan. Everything was tasty and filling. The lamb was tender, but a bit too salty for my taste. A mango lassi was the perfect thing to wash everything down. Glad to have this new addition to the Normandy Park Towne Center. read more

As many others have said, it is a new restaurant so hopefully the service improves with time and getting systems in place. The waitress was very sweet, but couldn't get the lights to turn on, forgot serving utensils, etc. The wait for our food was longer than expected, but SoOoO delicious when it arrived.
