Royal India is definitely an amazing restaurant to try out Indian food if you're in Manchester, NH. If you're looking for some spicy, flavorful Indian food, this is the place to be. My friend had suggested me this place so I tried it out with lot of expectations and I'm glad to say this, royal India didn't disappoint. The food was on point, the service - excellent, and there's all the required COVID precautions in place. I had a party of 9 and they had made arrangements accordingly. Everything that we ordered was delicious. For starters, as soon as you get comfy in your seat, you're being served with this delicious crisp fried papad with onion chutney. The papad was crisp and the chutney on point. For the appetizers, we got chicken lollipops and lamb boti kebab. Both were delicious and yum and we devoured it within seconds. For the main course, we had chicken biryani and lamb biryani and let me tell you something, the portions are huge. If you have a great appetite you'd be able to finish this (not alone by any chance) but there will be plenty of leftovers for you to take home and enjoy the next day as well. I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant and the food offerings and everyone in my party felt the same. The staff was polite and knowledgeable, the food was great and overall, I'd suggest this place to anyone without a doubt.

Extremely upset and disappointed in my experience here. For starters, I didn't even get the correct order and I waited an HOUR for it to be ready, plus extra time sitting at the bar waiting for it to be delivered to me. I got home and unpackaged it and they literally screwed up everything. I didn't order the vegetable pakora but it was in my bag, I didn't get the garlic naan bread and vegetable samosas I PAID for. The gobhi Manchurian looked horrific and felt like it had sat out for hours. The tikka masala I ordered was good don't get me wrong but at that point I'd rather just make it at home where I'll be guaranteed ALL THE FOOD I PURCHASE!!!!! You'd think if someone's paying $44 for food you'd ensure their order is correct am I right?! The other thing that gets me is it wasn't even busy!! And I wasn't the only one who was displeased with the service. A woman that was in the restaurant long before me asked the bartender (the only staff in the whole place) when her order would be ready because her flight would be leaving in an hour and she'd been waiting as long as I had, an hour. Aside from 2 other groups sitting at tables eating it was dead in there. The other thing that pissed me off was the fact that these two guys got their takeout order almost immediately when they walked in while I was left sitting there feeling like an idiot for almost 20 minutes! Not to mention the drinks left on the bar and open napkins that were there when I arrived and the bar was completely empty. This entire experience was frustrating. I should've known when I called and I didn't get the warm fuzzies! Save yourself and go somewhere else trust me.

Wow, who knew that Manchester, NH could be home to such an authentic Indian restaurant? Royal India is definitely a hidden gem. I'm not well-versed in Indian cuisine but ya girl knows what tastes good and what does not and this place definitely hits the spot. Spicy food without sacrificing any of the flavor? I'm all about that. We started off with the samosas and pakoras which I definitely recommend although I honestly recommend everything my group ordered... The garlic naan is ON POINT. Portion sizes are ridiculous here. If you get the biryani just expect a really huge bowl of bomba** rice to be brought out to you. The biryani is excellent and one of my favorite dishes here. So flavorful and full of awesome spices. The less saucy version of the chicken vindaloo was a huge hit amongst the group. It had a nice, tangy flavor while also providing a very subtle kick. Chicken was cooked well and super tender. The second time I came back, I tried the original hot and saucier version of the chicken vindaloo and it was THE BEST. I love spicy food and Royal India is the only restaurant in all of NH that has even made my tongue tingle! The butter chicken, an off-menu item, was also so delicious. Indian food is definitely more fun to eat when you go with a huge group and do it family-style. Everyone at Royal India was so great. Our server was very knowledgable about the menu and even made some excellent recommendations. The chef came out to check on us as well and ask if the food was alright. Such a great family-owned establishment that I will be dining at more often!

    Vegetable Samosa! They are excellent!

They have very good food and service here. I'm glad that my wife and I have found this place. They have vegan choices as well as meat. Each dish is prepared to order; don't be in a hurry. They are not slow. Fair warning. We will be back.

We got a table right in the window early in the lunch hour, but for a Saturday it filled quickly so we were glad we got there when we did. The seating was spacious and attractive, and even when it got fuller didn't feel crowded. Our server was fabulous- not only knowledgable about the dishes, but ready with advice and suggestions, all of which worked out well. We started with the Annapurna tea with ghee and salt (new food #1!) which was a nice change of pace and I will definitely order again. For entrees we had the Buff Sukuti Dhido, Fish Thali, and goat biryani. The dhido (new food #2) is a lot like fufu in texture but wheat based, while the buff sukuti (new food #3) is sort of a spiced buffalo jerky. This had a great texture and flavor for my tastes. If you want to try the dhido with something a bit more familiar there are other options like chicken or goat. We did get the goat in the biryani and that was very good and came with a yogurt sauce two balance the flavor and heat. For the thali we got fish. Both the thali and dhodi came with several sides (greens, dal, potatoes, pickles, etc) which complemented the dishes well. Although two of our dishes (the thali and dhodi) were designed as dishes that one could eat individually, we actually shared all of our dishes which made for a super fun selection. There are many familiar south Asian dishes on the menu, but I definitely recommend a sense of adventure in approaching the menu because there are some really good new items to try at Annapurna. Tip: If you have leftover dhodi you can fry it up the next day.

Our server wasn't rude, but he also wasn't very attentive. He spent a lot of time going back into the kitchen, where it sounded like he was talking loudly or yelling. I couldn't tell exactly what was going on, but he wasn't very present in the dining room, and it took away from the experience. What bothered me most was the tipping process. I was prompted to leave a tip, but when I paid with my credit card, an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. It completely caught me off guard. I don't think this is an appropriate business practice, especially if it isn't made clear to customers. I've attached a photo for reference. As for the food, the dumplings were good, and the tikka pizza was decent. Next time, I'd order the pizza without the green peppers. I was also expecting the pizza to have more meat and a little more sauce. My boyfriend thought the pizza was really great though, including the vegetables, so different taste. Overall, the food has potential, but the inattentive service and confusing gratuity experience took away from what could have been a much better visit.

Boyfriend has been wanting to try Taj for a while and we finally took the opportunity to stop in while we were in the area. The ambiance inside the restaurant is calm and quiet. The service was efficient and friendly enough. We got paneer pakoras, chicken madras, paneer masala and garlic naan. You can choose your level of spice on a scale of one to six. I ordered my madras to be a five and my boyfriend ordered six for the paneer masala. The pakoras and chutneys were solid. The naan bread was soft, pillowy and had a pleasant chew, making it some of the best I've ever tasted. I tried the paneer masala and enjoyed the richness of it, plus my boyfriend said the spice of it was perfect. I really loved the madras curry, perfect spice level and bursting with flavor. AMBIANCE: Simple, cozy, chandeliers doing their little sparkle thing. Nothing over-the-top.
