Sweet n' sour chicken... I don't use the sauce, so it's all about the chicken pieces... These were overcooked, and in old, dirty oil... They were soggy, and like a cardboard box color... Not crispy, nor flavor... The chicken fried rice was flavorless, and soggy...

Wanted something different for dinner so we placed an order for pick up - our food was ready within 10 minutes of the drive over! Ordered the egg drop soup (never had veggies in egg drop soup before), crab rangoon, sesame seed chicken and broccoli beef. I had read the reviews on the fried rice so we went with white rice instead. Everything was delicious and we will l definitely be back!

This restaurant is a Terre Haute staple when it comes to Chinese food. A clean environment, middle-of-the-road prices, and quick, courteous service are what keep my mom and I coming back. They have reasonable daily specials, too, and three convenient locations in Terre Haute. This one in the Meadows Mall is our go-to location. Our Go-To: Mongolian Beef, Chicken & Vegetable Deluxe, Beef & Broccoli, General Tsos, steamed rice, and of course - Crab Rangoon. With a menu as extensive and authentic to Chinese and Korean food we oftentimes wish we would venture out and try something new but aren't sure what to order. That's our next challenge. What sets them apart: They have a healthy option section on their menu that is served with no carbs and made with low sodium, low sugar, and minimal oil. You can choose your veggie option then pair it with a protein. Not something you see at this type of restaurant. Bring it back: BUBBLE TEA! This broke my heart when they said they no longer make it. That was one of the things that set them apart from other restaurants in Terre Haute. I hope they rethink it and bring it back. Side note: The Meadows Mall is making a come-back! Lots of cute, new stores coming in and plenty of parking available - this location is going to be booming soon!

The fact they only accept cash can be an inconvenience at times however. The General Tzo's is the best around with lots of big, fresh broccoli heads, nice chunks of white meat chicken and a kick if you request extra spicy. I've preferred their PFR over all others in town for some reason; I mean it's just rice right? The brown sauce is spot-on as is the moo shu. Not on the menu? Tell them what you want and they will probably make it for you!

This is a delivery order so I can't comment on the restaurant. They don't have a hearty chicken broth based soup with lots of chicken and vegetables. This was sort of a weaker version of Cambell's soup with what I can only imagine are frozen chicken meat pieces thrown in. About all I enjoyed was that it was something hot to drink which is nice when you're working with a cold. I did additionally order the sesame beef for something hearty later in the shift. It too was ok. I can say the broccoli was fresh and crunchy. The pieces of beef were breaded and fried so sometimes a little dry on the inside, but the sauce was good despite my diminished sense of taste. I'm still looking for my go to Chinese restaurant in Terre Haute so not sure if I'll order from here again...

The chicken and broccoli isn't how you would expect. It has no flavor or taste. There's a creamy white sauce on it.

The food is the finest Asian fare around and avoids the common error of over spicing the food. The Mapo Tofu is remarkable and each of the items we shared in our group excelled in its taste and presentation. The decor is simple and elegant amplifying the peaceful mood that surrounds the diners. Each server was polite, gracious and accommodating without hovering or intruding. Do yourself a favor and set aside a day to visit Northern Cuisine and you will not regret it.

The two dishes we ordered were a bit on the sweet side, which isn't atypical for the dishes themselves, so kind of an error on our part. They had celtuce so we had to order it, it was tender and light and flavorful. The dumplings is good but a bit meat heavy than I would've preferred. Skin is very thin, like wonton skin. The scallions pancakes are perfectly panfried. The Beijing yogurt is not at all correct, it's stickier than I'm used to and not as smooth and flavor is a bit flat than the actual ones. Coconut pudding was unremarkable, doesn't stand out. Overall, the foods were good. We probably could've ordered better.

I mixed some of the white rice in the sesame beef and scooped up a nice mouthful, the sauce actually has a perfect sweet tang to it but I had the most disappointing moment as I chewed. The meat didn't taste like beef and it didn't taste like chicken, I tried another two pieces and couldn't swallow those down either - it also was very chewy but in a squishy kind of way not a tough beef type of way, I don't know how else to describe but it just did not taste or feel like I was eating beef. I decided to try my mango bubble tea and was equally disappointed, it was very flat and watery. I even tried to eat my egg roll but I could only get half way. I ended up just eating the broccoli and most of the white rice but my appetite was gone by then. I ended up throwing everything away. The reviews seemed pretty positive so I'm actually surprised - I don't think I've ever been disappointed with Chinese food before today.

I originally ordered the General Tso chicken off the lunch menu but immediately noticed that it tasted "off" - way too sour to be flavorful. The waiter allowed us to select a different item on the menu - Mongolian chicken (much better). He later informed us that the chef previously forgot the sugar! Chef cooked another small portion of the general tso and kindly let us sample what it should've tasted like - good!

The menu is quite comprehensive with choices or meat and veggies diishes. It serves non sipcy and also sichuan dishes. We ordered Dry hotpot, fish with sour veggie doup, pork with garlic sauce, and pork belly with garlic. It is interesting that they ran out of many veggie for the dry hotpot. The food was ready quickly, and they were yummy except the pork belly. The best was the fish soup. The dry hotpot was good, but it is similar to what we had at other malatang restaurants. Overall, it was a good lunch and good service. Pricewise, I think it is reasonable.
