I didn't think coming into this nail salon would be as bad as it was. I am a very patient person but the person doing my nails was very harsh and he cut me twice. DON'T GO HERE!!! I wouldn't even give this place one star, but i had to in order to post a review!! I've been getting my nails done for over 10 yrs now, & i have never felt so uncomfortable @ a nail salon. 1st off i tried explaining what i wanted done... Just a simple WHITE TIP ACRYLIC FRENCH MANICURE. I explained i wanted the WHITE tips.. He didn't use the white tips.. Then when he was sizing my nails, he made a comment about how he didnt have a nail big enough to fit my thumb nail I told him this isn't my first time getting my nails done and my thumb takes a size 0 nail! Once again he didn't listen to me then he started speaking in a different language telling the others that were working at the salon about how big my thumb was and three other workers came over and circled around me and were laughing and talking in a different language and he ended up make shifting a nail for my thumb and it came out horrible!! I was so embarrassed and felt so uncomfortable I wanted to leave ! SOOO Friendly! I was driving up the 101 from LA to SF today and needed a mani/pedi. badly. Leaving LA I figured surely someplace in Solvang or Bueller would be open but apparently everything in the central coast closes at 1pm or so. Thankfully, the lady at a burrito shop told me to check out the nail salon at the Santa Maria mall. The owner of the salon and her husband were awesome! They were super busy but fit me in and worked around the fact that I was on a tight schedule. Also, for a small-town kind of mall, they had a great color selection (even the new OPI navy blue!!!) and were super sanitary. As a side note, the owner loves shopping so if you know of any good spots to find cute clothes in LA or SF, she will definitely take kindly to you! read more

I'm literally getting a pedi done right now and it's terrible. Didn't say hi. Pointed at me to sit. Not talking and just tapping my foot where he wants it. Scrubbed the bottom of my feet with a dry sponge. This place has really gone down hill. I'll update once this nightmare is over. Update: They apparently don't use towels here. This place is great... Despite stereotypes about nail shops in the mall being overpriced and not good with customer service, this place comes at you with the total opposite... Fairly priced, and the people here are really friendly, and they pretty much give their opinions on what they think looks good for your nails... Might I add, while getting a regular pedicure, I got one of the best "pedicure foot rubs" ever!!! I had the most awful experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The guy didn't talk to me, didn't do anything I asked him to do with my nails and when I corrected him on what I expected he yelled at me and begrudgingly did a crappy french manicure. Most horrible experience ever. Barely cleaned the bowl after the previous pedicure. Did not file my nails, barely did my cuticles and it had been a while. Horrible place. Bad customer service! The guy in charge today was rude telling numerous customers that they will be helped in 15 minutes when it was just him and another man working. I had to go there because I was desperate and had to get my nails done within the hour and my usual place was in orcutt. They had to redo my nails twice. The first time my nails were not even and the polish was uneven. The second time they had to do it they made me change my nail color and it sucked because they have poor colors. When I walked in there was an employee getting ready in the mirror which is understandable maybe she got up late and was in a rush but as it got further into the session I realized that it was not going to be good. I wanted short nails and the man that was doing my nails yelled at me and got very upset with me for wanting short nails even though I was the customer he said "what's the point of me doing my job if you want short nails?" And then he goes on to file my nails/cuticles and he cuts 3 of my fingers! THREE!! And continues on with the service as my fingers are bleeding. Horrible, terrible, atrocious, nightmare, to sum it up "nail place from hell." I went in here to get my nails removed and get a new set put on. By time I left I had two nails broken halfway down the nail bed and bleeding, and the rest were not much better off. At that point, I told him to stop and that I was leaving. He made no apology, and looked at me like I was in the wrong. I have been getting my nails done for years and have NEVER had an experience bad enough to walk out. This place is terrible! The few times I have gone I have never walked out satisfied. After recently getting a pedi there, I will really now never go back! My toes chipped that same day and my french tip was completely crooked. She didn't file my nails whatsoever, caused me a lot more pain than a pedi should and made no apologies whatsoever. Her supplies also didn't seem sterile at all. They were just sitting in a rubbermaid container and not in alcohol or under UV lights at all. The only reason I rated this place a 2 is because there is one woman who manages to do a pretty good job. Her name is Vicky and is often booked by her return clients. If you have to go here go to her! Just be sure to book an appointment because anytime she is there she has a client. Queen Nails in the Town Center West shopping center (right across the street from the "mall") does a much better job! Sidenote: You can NOT tip if you use your card! (and I am in my early 50-s, so I have had a few manicures in my life) They legit look worse than they did before I went. the guy who did it is a TOTAL HACK. Did not really trim my cuticles. Put clear polish on which he let bleed over the cuticle . Did not clean under my nails. Worst part - he filed them to be square (they were round when I went in and he didn't even ask) He attacked one hand and to fix them they are so short there is literally no nail left. Unbelievable. I originally wanted my nails done at image spa but they were renovating & I'm in desperate need of a set so I walk in for a set at this place he said 30$ & showed him this picture. ( hand on wheel with ring) So we get to doing the nails & when he gets to putting polish & leaves my hands to rest I can see EVERYTHING wrong with them. I asked him if he could please fix them. He ignores me & continues , he gets finished I asked him again could he please fix them especially my two crooked nails he says "O no" "tat yo finga" "it do like dat" I said no it's not this isn't my first set I know what a set should look like. & ask him one more time "could you please fix my nails" (ignored me focused on another client" I say "okay fine, if you don't want to fix them I'll just leave" so I walk out the door & he start yelling & chasing me to come back when I'm already half ways to the stairs. I stop & tell him "don't yell at me you did not want to fix them so I left" he's throwing his hands everywhere so I quickly speedwalk down the stairs & go straight inside clairs & tell them if they could please get me security. The employees themselves were even frightened they called security immediately & the manager of clairs goes talks to the guy when security showed up he plays calm when security shows up & he try's starring me down since he can't yell at my face anymore. Security is telling me I must pay in order to be left alone or she gave me a choice to bring the police I was not going to pay this guy a single dime after all this I completely refused. My nails are crooked my fingers/cuticals are covered in acrylic my fingers were irritated & I get yelled at. The cops tryed getting him to just let it go although he wouldn't so I said I'll give him $10 & that's it just to be over it cause it's been about 30 minutes at this point. He accepts & goes to his salon I quickly leave & came home to chop these disgusting nails off . I can't believe I experienced this . Never will I ever step foot in a Solon Run by these people . I got my nails done with glitter tip and pink on the inside. I got basically washed out glitter on thr tip and some nails had specs of glitter on the pink? I told him to fix it but he kept sayin it looked good and that hed do a design i told him thats not wat i paid for. So he gave up and "fixed" them. Horrible job done. He was completely rude. The worst nail experience I ever had. I called in and asked how much it would be for a gel polish change. I was told that it was $15. I went in about 3 hours later and then was told it was $18. They had a poor selection of gel polish. The guy was not even experienced on how to put on the Polish. My nails are still see through. And a lot of missing spots on the edges. My first time and i Went in for new set (shape change almond- coffin cutt) owner was the one who did my nails, all i wanted was removal of acyrlic that had gel on top and put on new set, there gel color selection was not great. As soon as i walked in i was sat down which was great but if id known it was going to take eternity id pass. The longest i ever waited js for my hands. It was taking over 2hr 10min and I had mentioned I was on time limit prior (hoping for under 1.5hr) Lady was nice but really rough with my fingers and wrist which really bothered me I had to tell her gentle relax I have carpel tunnel. After I told her I need be out there within next 30min, she starts rushing to finish and but still leaves all this glue that was from the start all over my fingers the whole time and it's literally EVERYWHERE on my skin. Place is in great location, but not enough staff from what I noticed once more customers started waking in, and overpriced! I paid $59 (I usually pay $60 for both hands and pedi) Top it off owner was in her own world while doing my hands there was music playing for guest enjoyment on ceiling speakers which was nice but then she started playing her phone with her own music right in front of me so I heard 2 diff songs the whole time I got a major migraine.
