They consistently serve really good food. Most generous seafood salad pocket you will find anywhere and not soaked in mayo. Steak bomb is to die for, also generously stuffed. These guys are top notch ! Very friendly whether pick up or have delivered . I'm in love with the grilled chicken and fresh garlic pizza with the garlic slightly cooked ! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE! We were told 30 minutes for our food and mistakenly tipped the driver ahead of time. One hour later we still didn't have our dinner so we called and were told that "the driver is walking out the door right now". 25 minutes after that, still no food and we are literally down the street for this place. At this point all the kids are crying for their pizza... FINALLY the food arrives and we find out we got the wrong salads, no bread, and the pizza is cold and sticking to the boxes. We call back to request a refund for this gross food and receive no apology whatsoever. He says he can only refund us if the driver comes BACK after his deliveries and picks up the food but the kids don't care that it's cold so they've already started eating. The adults, not so much. Voiced our opinion on how poor the customer service was and still no apology. Instead the managers fights us regarding the amount of time we waited. Definitely NEVER ordering from here again. read more

We ordered 3 meals for take out. All three were properly cooked and tasted great. The food was wrapped in foil to keep it hot and extra bread and dressing was provided. They were very friendly and efficient when I picked up the food. My father and mother are in their late seventies and they get the food delivered at the Rope Walk condominiums across the street from Royal. I wasn't going to post about the recent fiasco I had with this place, but after reading some of the less than stellar Google reviews (look them up), it seems to me that the customer service at this place is going downhill. I hope this is not a sign of a larger problem developing at the shop, but here is what I encountered recently... I placed a delivery order with them and used my credit card. They called back after 10 minutes to let me know the card was declined. The young man on the phone sounded angry, and used a tone with me as if I were some kind of deadbeat. Come to find out, they misheard the expiration date when I called before. They put in my card and it went through, and my order was to be started. Fifty minutes after the last phone call, my pizza arrives. I am at work at this point, and had to stay later than expected because I was waiting for this pizza. When told that he forgot my soda, the delivery man has no awareness that I even ordered one. He offers to go get it, which was a kind gesture, but I am already staying later at work than I anticipated. I figure I will go pick it up myself later, so decline his offer. I cannot tip the delivery guy either, because apparently when you order with a credit card, the person taking the order asks what tip amount you want to leave. No one asked me this, and so I thought I could just write it on the receipt. I couldn't. The man is tipless, angry, and walks away from me with an attitude...as if I am the one to blame. At this point, I am pretty upset now. I was spoken to rudely on the phone, my pizza took almost an hour to arrive, my soda was left behind, I am leaving work late, and now I am being given an attitude by the delivery man for a missed tip that I am not responsible for. To top it off, my pizza is only lukewarm. I decided to stop by the pizza shop as I pass it on my way home. I wanted to know why I had the incident with them that I did, as this is highly unusual (I have been a customer for 15 years and never had a problem before). I thought I was being pretty calm and polite, given the frustration on my part. One guy, the one who gave me an attitude on the phone for my 'declined' card, came up to the counter to give me a stronger attitude and nearly yelled at me for saying I didn't like the way he spoke to me. No apology, just attitude, and staring me down like he wants to fight me. The wife of the owner apologized to me, not for the guy's behavior, but because they were busy and running late this evening. But her tone of voice and words contained an overly-sympathetic mockery that left me feeling like I was the problem, not them. I will not be ordering from Royal Pizza again. It's not even the order itself that bothers me at this point, because I understand mistakes happen. But it is the feigned apology from the husband's owner sealed with the hostile macho attitude from the other one that left me sour. I noticed when I went in that their usual counter and delivery staff was different tonight than the usual crew I have seen there, and so I believe this had something to do with it. Maybe they just need to train them better in customer service, but I will never know how that goes, because I will not be returning. read more

Great staff and there subs are amazing. Being from New York originally the pizza will not win awards but is one of the best in the area. Their 3 small pies for 12 dollars is a great deal and very ideal if you have little ones perfect size slices for little mouths. read more

If you are going to order, either pick up or pay the delivery guy with cash. If you insist on paying with a credit card over the phone then just have cash on hand for a tip! Terrible customer service. TERRIBLE. My 90 yr old grandmother calls in a large pizza for delivery. She orders and then the lady says okay, 30-45 minutes, and hangs up. I tell my grandmother to call back and give address. She does. An hour anf 10 minutes later we are still waiting for the pizza. My grandmother calls back and they say the delivery is out but the guy has 10 orders ahead of ours. Wtf? That dont sound right. Sure enough, 25 minutes pass and we still are waiting. Finally my grandmother calls a 3rd time and asks for the manager. The manager proceeds to tell my grandmother she said 35 instead of 45 for the address number(a lie as I heard her say 45) and also that they called the phone 3 times but it went straight to voicemail. Thats because the dumb dumb taking the order wrote the wrong address and phone number down. No apology, no nothing. I grabbed the phone and told the lady to keep the pizza after she continued to be argumentative and acting like we messed up. Who argues with the customer over a $15 pizza after it hasnt been delivered for 90 minutes??? Go back to business school and get a clue. No wonder you guys get awful reviews. read more

However, beware if you are planning to use your credit or debit card as they do charge a fee--though it is illegal to do so in Mass. I have also found it difficult to figure out how they arrive at the total price, since they do not provide an itemized receipt. I had pizza elsewhere a couple nights ago, so my first time ordering in from these guys was a chicken parm sub and fries. The sandwich was on point; great bread, the chicken stayed crispy where possible and the sauce is tasty...bases covered. The fries leave a lot to be desired. Not bad, but plain and typical. Needed a lot of salt for my tastes, but I like salty. Service was excellent...very courteous and professional on the phone, and the delivery guy was quick if I ordered on a Tuesday, but it was about 8 on a Saturday...close to peak time I'd imagine.
