I came here after an ankle sprain and I was so happily surprised. The location is straight forward; facing Loma Verde; enough parking; and inside was bright, clean and had a happy feeling. You know sometimes you go to Pedi places are they are pretending to be high end and fancy and after some time it's exhausting being in that space. The prices are great; not over the top at all. The Pedicure seats have a tray (where you can play your laptop, books or other things) while the lady helps your feet look presentable again...hehe. Also the pedicure chairs have seat warmers and the massage modes don't automatically turn off after some time. I loved this. Amy the lady who helped me didn't press the area where she saw my bruise so I was happy; she knew that one of my feet only needed upward movement during massage. I appreciated that and for this I'll always come here. I got a natural pedicure with no nail polish; but they have an abundance of colors to select from. One of my nails broke off on the ankle that was bruised and Amy slowly clipped it off and put a green Asian oil (Aromatic Medicated Oil) to help with pain. I was really disappointed with my appointment yesterday. I scheduled online the day before, arrived on time, and still waited about 20 minutes before my service began. When Kelli started removing my gel polish, she immediately used a coarse drill bit instead of soaking the gel off with acetone first. She continued using the drill on my natural nails until I stopped her before she moved to my other hand and said that my nails are usually soaked first. You could clearly see pieces of my natural nail mixed in with the hot pink colored gel dust from the filing. At that point, Iknew took over and offered to soak my nails, but I declined because the damage had already been done. She acknowledged that my nails had been over-filed with the drill. Once the natural nail has been filed away, soaking the natural nail will just make the damage worse. To make matters worse, one of my hands wasn't even soaked to remove the under nail debris before the service continued, making the experience feel rushed and incomplete. I don't believe I should have been charged for this service. It will take months for my natural nails to grow out and recover, and I'm shocked that a licensed nail technician would remove gel in such an aggressive way and destroy the natural nail. I was also surprised that the service didn't match what was advertised. The salon states that the manicure includes a 4-minute massage, but the timer was set for only 3 minutes. I've been a regular customer for the past two years, so this experience was both shocking and disappointing. I usually book with another technician who was out of town, and I've always had great experiences with her. Unfortunately, after this appointment, I'm not sure I'll come back. read more

I went here to get my toe nails done before my Europe trip. She asked if I wanted them cut and I said yes please, but after she cut them she began to file down even more. I pulled back in pain a few times not realizing she was filing down my skin causing me to bleed....she wiped them off at the end with whatever was on the cotton swab, which caused them to burn, but I didn't see any blood...until I got home. She managed to make multiple toes bleed and file down my skin on several others. I'm very disappointed considering how uncomfortable this is. I'm about to travel and be walking everyday. read more

I visited Royal Spa for a manicure about a week and a half ago and they forgot to apply a top coat. My nails chipped within two days. When I returned, they only touched up a few fingers and within another three days the polish chipped again. I work long hours and it was the holiday week, so I could not immediately return. Today I went back and was told that because it has been two weeks there was nothing they could do. The frustrating part is that my nails are barely grown out so it is obvious the service was very recent. I tip generously on every visit but the dismissive attitude I received today was unacceptable. Every time I have been here the customer service feels irritated rather than welcoming. This was my last visit and I will not recommend them. I went to get a pedicure at around 4pm on a weekday. It was pretty busy, but someone was able to help me right away. My pedicure was fabulous. It was exactly what I needed after a long week. I chose the regular pedicure with milk and honey, and the technician gave me an amazing foot massage and gave my nails a much-needed cleanup. I started going to Royal Spa Lounge in May for gel manicures. After the 4th time my nails started lifting away from the nail bed. I made an appointment with my dermatologist and she confirmed it was fungus from the nail salon. When I went back to Royal Spa Lounge the day of my doctor appointment to have the gel removed and my nails cut short I asked 3 technicians if they had ever seen the lifting before and they basically ignored me. After cutting my nails she didn't even file them to a smooth shape. I had acrylic nails for 25 years before transitioning to my natural nails and never had any problems with fungus. read more

The first time I read reviews and went with Helen ( the reviews were right she's great!!) . The second time I came here and was extremely disappointed. I've been going here on and off over the last year and some change. However, recently this has been my staple pedicure spot that I take many of my friends and family. I would recommend calling to book your appointment but also, call again to confirm, if you haven't received a confirmation text. Tilly is my go to girl, for a Luxury Pedicure with Milk and Honey scent. She knows what I like and I can get comfortable enough to actually fall asleep while getting my pedicure done here. She is very patient, and kind. She also makes my toenails feel completely clean and fresh but also doesn't seem to have difficult with adjusting my seating for my height, like most other places, and technicians do. Out of all the salons I've tried in the South Bay, she also happens to not struggle with the size of my pinky toe nails; they're very tiny, and she has never failed to both clean up the cuticles, and paint the nail itself. She definitely reads the room, and the vibe. She can somehow sense when I feel like talking and when I just need to sit in silence or decompress. Booked an appointment weeks in advance to be sure I'm all set for my vacation. I scheduled everything within Yelp which was great! Parking is a bit difficult, but as many mentioned before, you can snatch a spot at McDonald's. Me and my boyfriend arrived just in time and were seated immediately for our pedicures and they handled my manicure at the same time which saved me so much time. During my pedicure, I decided I was no longer going to be doing gel and the lady kept insisting on it which made me uncomfortable. I am pretty disappointed with my nails. They look sloppy as the nail lady, Kim, started rushing towards the end when applying my top coat. It's hard to see in pictures but the edges are left bare and I can see where there is top coat applied and where there wasn't any. She was trying to finish my appointment so she could take in a walk-in. On top of that, after a few days of having my nails, the edges started to lift and break. They seriously look as if I've had them for over 2 weeks when I've only had them for a week now. I really contemplated on writing this review because I love coming here but paying $70 plus tip for my nails was not worth the work. I was not only disappointed on the quality, but I was also disappointed on customer service and care. I requested a change before she even started applying any color or design and she answered rudely, "that's why I asked you what you wanted at the beginning!". I asked her to paint one nail on each hand instead of doing a line design for all my nails. She acted as if I had asked her for her to start all over when in fact she had not started on applying any color/nail design. I think I'm allowed to change my mind without feeling like I'm inconveniencing her. I also got cut twice while she was roughly filing down and then told me it was my fault for moving. It was so hard to enjoy my appointment but luckily my pedicure with Amy made up for it afterwards. She did amazing and for her individual work, I definitely give her 5-stars. I hadn't visited Royal Spa Lounge in a while, and after my most recent visit, I don't think I'll be returning again. I got a deluxe gel pedicure for $65. The issues began when she trimmed my big toe nail way too short (on left foot) and it didn't even match the length of the nail on the right foot. I asked if they nail extensions or something to fix the length of the left nail, so she added length using acrylic powder. I wouldn't have even been upset about the situation if she had done a good job fixing the short nail. The nail looks normal from the top, but from the side you can see the sloppy and thick acrylic. To top it off, the lengths still did not match at the end. I consider this a waste of my money and wish I had gone elsewhere. Lastly, I was overcharged $5 because they did not deduct the $5 that I paid to book my appointment online from my total price at the salon (so I paid $70 total). read more

Honestly i'm pretty disappointed from my last visit. I went in last Friday and I've been a customer for over four years now I don't go all the time, but I do call every once in a while, so everything was fine. The service was OK. The ladies were nice but at the very end when I was going to get my eyebrows waxed, the lady asked for a tip and it honestly kind of threw me out of the bus because I had already spent $135 dollars on my nails, my pedicure eyebrow wax and lip wax and it honestly was kind of upsetting that she was asking for a tip because I can only spend so much money it's not like I paid for $20 anyways I said oh I'm sorry I don't have cash on me and then she showed me a QR code saying you can Venmo me and I said I'm sorry I don't have Venmo. She's like oh you can't do zelle too and honestly, I felt pressured like I usually speak up but it really caught me off guard so I said OK well, yeah, I'll give you the tip after I do my eyebrows and she was like OK so when I went into the room to do my eyebrows, the lady that was waxing my eyebrows asked me. Why do you not have cash on you for the tip so I said I'm sorry I never carry cash on me. That's habit of mine because honestly, I did not know what to say. I really was shocked that they were pressing me about giving a tip so I said I'll zelle her and I pretended I was going to do it by raising my phone and opening my bank account and then when I did that, the lady that was doing my eyebrows, she like yelled something out loud to the other lady in their language so I'm assuming she told her something like oh yeah she's gonna send the money right now and then she said oh remember tip for three people and I was like OK anyways when I sent the money I was like yeah it's done she goes like how much did you send? I was like I sent $25 and then she proceeds to tell the lady that I already sent the money honestly, I don't think that is OK at all because the service itself is already super expensive and for them to make me give them a tip was really really upsetting for me. I shouldn't have sent them a tip, but I really felt pressured to doing it. I'm mad that I didn't speak up and I didn't say anything to them. I don't think that giving tip is mandatory especially after spending $135 on a service that only lasted about a week. I was really hesitant about writing the review only because I really like going to that place and every time I would go, they would always like kinda give me a hint about giving a tip and they would get mad at me for not giving them a tip, but it never went to the extent of them, making me do it so I'm for sure not gonna go ever again I'm not happy with what happened and it's a shame because I really did like the place and the services that they provided but it's definitely not OK to make people give a tip specially on on the economy nowadays where you can barely afford for anything and this is honestly a luxury for a lot of people. It really is a shame because they were super nice to me. The ladies that did my nails and my toes were super nice, but it felt like they were only being nice to me because they wanted a tip and honestly. Every time I would go and leave without tipping they would get mad! Like it's mandatory! Again, the service was okay they did a good job with the nails thats why i kept going every time but this is not okay at all!
