Surprised I haven't done a review here yet because we eat here all the time and eveuthing is delicious. From the takeout to the sit down from the currys to the specials it's all good. We particularly have been enjoying the samosa pizza. Their new lunch special is really nice too. It's large portions every time. We love they don't automatically include a large tip in person too. This was my first time eating Indian food and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I didn't know the serving sizes were that big we picked everything out individually, but everything came out amazing. The flavors were there. The sauces were there. A great spot for biriyani in Decatur! Located in Patel Plaza with plenty of free parking, this restaurant offers a clean, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff who take good care of you. The menu is extensive with lots of options. We started with their dosai, which was generously portioned--easily enough for one person. The goat curry was absolutely mouth-watering, rich, and flavorful. We also tried the goat biriyani and the chicken dum biriyani. The chicken biriyani was a bit different from the traditional dum style, but still enjoyable. We finished with garlic naan paired with the goat curry, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Great food, great service. This was our first time, and our server was very helpful and patient with us. We were immediately seated and enjoyed our meals. I ordered an appetizer (chili chicken) as my main dish with a side of basmati rice. I enjoyed it, but it was very spicy. I'd probably try the garlic chicken next time for less spice. Bawarchi Biryanis is a very solid option when it comes to Indian food in the Sandy Springs area. Although it is nowhere near the best Indian food I've had, their wide range of options and location has made this my local Indian stop. The food in general is decent and pretty authentic, with plenty of room for improvement. Just as a disclaimer, all of my experiences with Bawarchi have been with the take-out side of the restaurant. Bawarchi is one of the few Indian places I know that have a dining room, but also a separate side for take-out orders. I love this concept, and lots of other people seem to buy into that. I realize that the quality of food is not quite the same if you bring it home, rather than eat at the restaurant. However, given that all of my orders come from this side, I think they should prepare for this the best they can, and they do a decent job for the most part. I've been able to try a lot of different things in a few visits because of the variety of food that is on offer. They have meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, chicken, and lamb. Their cuisines range from traditional Indian food to dishes with Chinese influence and even Szechuan flavors. In general, I think their curries are right in the middle of the pack with all other curries I've had. The quality seems to lack a little consistency across the board. Their egg curry was jam packed with flavor, but a little oily. Meanwhile, their palak paneer was on the bland and watery side. On the positive end, their butter chicken was fantastic. The curry is rich and flavorful, and the chicken is tender. This only scratches the surface of their curries as I haven't even had a chance to touch the goat curries. But from previous experiences, I can't anticipate what the quality will look like. In terms of dry chicken dishes, I found them to be decent, but missing something. The malai tikka kebab had good flavor, but was a little dry. Their chicken 65 was a little disappointing. Not only was it dry, it also needed some extra seasoning, or even more breading. I think a sauce or a chutney really would have elevated both dishes. They also serve noodles here, I got the Indo-Chinese hakka noodles. They were good, but I was not blown away by them. Their take-out system seems to work for them, but one thing that might help them out is a notifying system. They tend to give a really rough estimate about when your food is ready, but if it is done quicker then your food just sits around, thus ruining the quality. I think if they implemented a phone number tracking system it could keep the organization levels high, while ensuring the food is the highest quality during transaction. My goal with Bawarchi now is to continue to go through the menu until I find the perfect combination of items for a perfect Indian meal. Once I can settle on a few items that are consistently good, then it will become my go-to meal. It may take me few times to figure it out, but I know Bawarchi will come through for me! read more

Consistently great food, good quantity and nice service. Went with few friends and tried different entrees. I have always gone for lunch on working days so place is not really crowded. It's famous for catering and there is a side entrance and a different corner for placing catering or pickup orders making the restaurant really neat and non-disturbing. Unbelievable long list of choices for both vegetarian and non-veg. - Vijayawada chicken biryani was spicy and really amazing. - Roti and Chicken Tikka was very good and rightly spiced. - Tandoori chicken was soft and well done with great spices and was tasty. - chicken dum biryani always the favorite ! None of us touched the Raita and Salem(the gravy stuff) which comes with Biryani and was disappointed h the wastage. This place is quite large and was nearly vacant at noon on a Sunday. I ordered Mutton Saag was very pleased with the dish. My wife wanted meat and vegetables, which were not available in a single dish. She ordered two entrees without realizing it. We had lots of leftover to take home. I ordered my Palak Paneer to be as mild as they could make it, and it came very spicy. It was too spicy for me to eat. They said that they couldn't make it any milder. I ordered a mango lassi to cool off my palate and it came in a bottle with a cap. I've only ever got take out from here so cannot speak to the restaurant ambience. The delivery is always quite quick for Indian food though, I love that!! THE AVAKAI CHICKEN DUM BIRYANI OH MY GOD. Such authentic South Indian flavors. I am so particular about Indian food but this avakai tasted exactly like the one we eat at home. The taste is SO worth the price. I just wanna eat this biryani for every meal now and cannot stop thinking about it. It was spicy in the best way and every bite packed so much flavor. If you're craving biryani, pls look no further. This biryani is so ridiculously delicious. My only note would be, the chicken is boned so you don't get too much food for the money you pay but trust me the taste is worth it. I love Indian food because to be amazing flavors!! And I also love the spice. For those who are spice/heat lovers. There is none here! I'm still shocked that I was offered a bottle of Sriracha. Service is friendly. There was one young man who walked around checking on us who seemed to be a leader more than a server. He was the best. Our server however, was lukewarm at best. My food was delicious though it took me a minute to wrap my head around what I wanted because it's not what I typically order when I visit my few favorite Indian spots. ( OK, I guess I have my favorite dishes). The host of the table ordered several things thankfully because it allowed me to taste / see how delicious the food is. The vegetable korma, the garlic chicken was yummy and the tikka masala was equally delicious. The naan came out fresh and hot. The atmosphere is hip, casual and lively. I'm giving 3 stars because I was disappointed for two reasons. Simply the lack of heat and that's just my palate. Secondly, no adult beverages. After walking all day in Atlanta between museums we were starving and our friends suggested this great indian restaurant. It's located at the Patel plaza a medium size shop but with a great cook. We ordered all sorts of stuff, unfortunately I was not able.to take pictures of everything but they have a huge menu. We went for the well known stuff, Chicken Tikka masala which I asked to be extra spicy and it was! Great dish that comes with a nice portion of white rice. My gf asked for chicken biryani, but I believe we didn't checked with our stomach first bc this waaas a loot, very good flavor but the chicken was breaded so it fills you up easily. I've been coming to Bawarchi for the last 3 years and the food never disappoints! Tonight I ordered the Chicken 555 appetizer, Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala! If you need a sign or unsure of app's GET THE CHICKEN 555 it is sooo flavorful, tender chicken, purple onions and jalapeño's! Sounds extremely spicy but it's not! The Butter chicken and Tikka our are go to's and they're ALWAYS delicious as well. Tender chicken and extremely flavorful. The basmati rice is always perfect as well! The Naan is delicious too, just didn't get it with this order! The staff is always super friendly & they now have a second entrance for to go and express orders! P.S. Get the chicken 555! This place has a lot of promise but needs some really deligent investment. The food is excessively spice with little flavor. Got a taste of their mirch bajji, masala dosa and biryani. The mirchi bajji needs to be fresh. Ideally, the jalapenos need to be deseeded before stuffing them and then deep fry after dipping them in batter. This place doesn't deseed them adding to just heat. Loses the appeal of a mirchi. Also these were fried a while ago and just refried on ordering. The dosa was just ok. Mysore masala dose was filled with a brown flavourless chutney. The sambhar was not well developed. The biryani was excessively ouly and lacked the fresh notes. The morsels of chicken are overcooked and dry. A smaller menu that is well planned and made fresh would go a long way. Work on being better with the food. read more

My husband and I keep coming back to Bawarchi expecting something different... yet it always disappoints. We always order a starter (Chicken 555) which is always super tasty but then the meal goes downhill from there - 4/5. My husband ordered a masala dosa (picture not included) which had potatoes and veggies in a really mild-tasting masala, along with coconut, mint and tomato chutneys and sambar. It was all really mild tasting, though the dosa tasted and looked pretty fresh - 2/5. I ordered the chicken Hakka noodles. It was a large portion with chicken, veggies and egg in mild-tasting noodles. I barely ate more than a spoonful - there just wasn't much of anything going on. Going to take this thing home and elevate it with some masala and sauce - 1/5. We have in the past ordered goat dum biryani here too - that is always super spicy and without much meat. Overall, this may be the last time I head to Bawarchi. Update: after speaking to the server, who noticed we did not eat much of any of the Hakka noodles, he gave us a discount on the dish. This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Atlanta. In fact, we drive 20 - 30 min to get here. The restaurant is located in a parking lot off Abernathy and Roswell Rd. There is plenty of parking and it's a very busy area. We love the butter chicken, saag paneer, gobi Manchurian (deep fried cauliflower in spicy sauce), and garlic nan. We've also had the biryani too. Honestly, it's always hard to choose what to order as everything is delicious. The service is friendly but if the place is busy it can be harder to get attention if the server(s). read more
