I cannot praise the mysterious (still have not met him/her!) tailor working on the premises highly enough! First, he/she made three linen panels for a standing screen for me-- that are perfect. Second, he/she repaired a favorite cloth summer handbag: I had worn out the straps to threadbare-ness and there were holes in four corners at the base-- and it looks lovelier than when it was new! Careful, caring, highly skilled work. The gentleman in charge of taking in dry cleaning (and tailoring) orders is unfailingly courteous and it a pleasure to deal with his quiet professionalism. And every item of clothing I have brought in- from delicate, gossamer thin silks, to cashmere scarves, a queen-sized, down comforter.. and more regular items- all have been returned to me in faultlessly cared for condition. I called on the phone before stopping by, inquiring about their prices. As we all know, it's per pound and their prices seemed reasonable ($1 per pound with a minimum of 10 pounds). I had about ~15 pounds of laundry, so I thought this was a great deal. I didn't have a bag big enough to hold the laundry, therefore I divided it up. I mentioned to the lady at the register that this would be all together. She nodded and told us to to come tomorrow to pick it up. However when it came time to pick it up and pay, they had charged us over $30!!! The lady at the register claimed that she had told us that they would charge per bag (even though we brought them in all at once AND had explicitly stated that it would be all together). However, that was a lie. Now I have to call my bank to make sure the payment doesn't go through because they won't give me my money back. I would gladly pay what is owed (their per pound rate), but they refused to give me part of my money back. I understand that mistakes happen (such as failing to inform the customer of any price changes), but you shouldn't yell and lie to customers. I think any customer who's been in this situation would continue using their services if they remedied the situation. But, instead, Royale Cleaners chooses to lose business and act inappropriately. read more

Royale Cleaners does a great job with dry cleaning and wash&fold! It's affordably priced at $1/lb for wash&fold and they're able to have it done within the same day. I usually drop off and pick up because I live so close but they offer free delivery as well. The owner is always so incredibly nice! This morning I dropped off my laundry and said I would be back to pick it up before they close at 6. I was cutting it close when I walked in at 5:55pm and the owner, John, said he was pulling up my profile to call me. Now that's what I call customer service!! I highly recommend this place and will remain a loyal customer! read more

I brought a pair of jeans in to fix a broken zipper. 2 weeks later the zipper was broken again: I brought the jeans back,and lo and behold, the owners said they didn't do the job, that the zipper was old ( I had noticed but didn't mind the recycling), that they use a different brand!! Did I mention that they did only one seam on each side of the zipper, so it would have ripped eventually. I live 1 block up and have been going there for 10 years - not anymore. After several requests I went ahead and tried them again. I think that they are not trying to purposefully cheat customers and they do a fairly decent job. So I am updating my review to reflect the quality of service I received the last two times I used them. read more

Brought pants in for the waist to be taken in and the tailor here did a horrible job, they were way too tight. Her English is not very good and can barely understand instructions. Try another tailor in the neighborhood before taking your chances here. read more

DO NOT GO THERE - Lost shirts and Stains on Shirts' collar The owner made me wait 20 minutes before telling me that he could not find my shirts. He then asked me to look for them in the shop myself. After Half a hour, he found them at the back on the shop under someone else's name and did not apologized. Worse, I realized that there were lots of stains on my shirts' collar, which could not be removed. While the owner acknowledged that he had damaged them, he did not apologize. I told him that I refused to pay him and we ended up calling the police. While the dispute was for a small sum of money, I will not be able to wear my shirts anymore, some of which were quite expensive. I normally never write reviews - good or bad- but I am writing this one so that you can avoid doing the same mistake I did. Exceptional job. Brought in 3 jeans to tailor fit because I bought them at a slightly larger waist and length. Also brought in my old pair of jeans to patch a hole. The jeans fit perfectly and exactly as I wanted and the hole was patched up completely. They were even cleaned as an added bonus. Great service, perfect results. read more

These people are horrible. They don't even look at the wash and fold sent in. They ruined my dress and shawl. No apologies.

If you value your personal items then avoid Royale Cleaners!! I never write Yelp reviews but my experience warranted one. I took my beautiful 200 dollar rug to be cleaned and picked up a completely faded white washed rug. I was very calm but annoyed when I asked what happened. The owner however yelled at me and disregarded my comments. Even when I showed recent before pictures as proof she claimed I was lying and showing old pictures. When I suggested that I shouldn't have to pay full price for a ruined rug she snatched the rug away and put it behind the desk, as if I was going to steal it. The only redeeming factor was that I was able to have my debit card company cancel the charge for the damage that was done. The owner was rude and completely unprofessional. The team is clearly not well trained. read more

The lady who is the tailer here, is incredible. I took a suit jacket to her that Simche Cleaners (a few blocks away) had completely mangled - and this lady fixed it in an hour in time for me to leave for the wedding I was a groomsman in! She is a miracle worker tailer. Would not go anyplace else on the upper west. read more

I regret that I cannot give this business a nice review. I was overcharged for shirts and though I could possibly have gotten them to reduce the charge to the correct price, I payed the ticket price, so that I could leave. The manner in which I was treated was abusive and insulting. The man came around the counter and into my face in a threatening manner and both proceeded to holler at me. Their english is poor and while I accept that English is their second language their actions where very clear. His mannerism was intimidating and threatening. read more
